Using US bought IPhone on with Irish Service Provider

I need to replace my IPhone. My manager has an IPhone bought in the US that she could send me but will that work in Ireland using an Irish sim card from an Irish phone provider?

It would only work if it has been factory unlocked. Most of the phones in the US, unless purchased unlocked from the Apple store are locked to carriers in the US. Also, there are two different phones in the US, the GSM and the CDMA. You would need to know more about the phone before the question could be definitively answered.

There are several factors involved here, I shall explain them as best I can and will include all details, regardless of immediate relevancy:
In August of last year I purchased a new MBP15", and 2 months later I purchased an iPhone 5s refurb (unused) from my service provider (02), there were no issues connecting the two or with iCloud. Fast-forward several months to February I had a liquid spill on my laptop that rendered it unusable. After a month my insurance came through and I received a new laptop, and in order to successfully pair my replaced MBP with my 5S I performed a restore on my iPhone after backing up my data on iCloud.
When I turned on my iPhone after the restore, I was presented with the usual set-up process: wi-fi connection was completed without issue, as was enabling location services, entering my Apple ID and choosing my selected back-up.However, I was subsequently presented with an option to transfer purchases from an email address have never used and didn't recognise, so I declined. Immediately afterwards, a second Apple ID (again that I neither used nor recognised) popped up for the same reason, I declined, a third unknown Apple ID popped up, I declined again. After declining the three previous IDs, the old email address for my ID was presented to me, I entered my password to see what happened and it declined, saying 'the email is no longer valid.
After this, the restore continued, I finished setting up my iCloud with my correct ID. Since then (about a week ago) my iPhone has been unsuccessfully trying to 'restore from iCloud Backup', and every time I exit & re-enter a Wi-Fi zone I am presented with the same series of incorrect Apple ID's

The answer is very simple: You were not the original owner of the phone. Target sold you a phone that had been returned. You can verify the date of the original sale here: Apple - Support - Check Your Service and Support Coverage. I suspect you will find that the warranty expiration date is not one year from the date that you bought it.

No. The Verizon iPhone 4 is a CDMA phone. It will not work with any other carrier.

That's because it's carrier locked. Only the carrier it's locked to can authorize unlocking it. Contact them.

You bought a Sprint phone. Sprint phones are NOT unlocked. Sprint will only unlock the SIM slot for current Sprint customers in good standing for use while travelling internationally.
You bought the wrong phone. Since you're not a Sprint customer, you can not get it unlocked. Sell it to someone in the US and buy a phone you can use.

Sorry, what others here have said is wrong, wrong, wrong. There is nothing about the hardware of the iPhone 4S that would prevent a Sprint 4S from being used on T-Mobile, or any GSM carrier, international or domestic. Nothing. Zero. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Each and every 4S is 100% hardware capable of doing both GSM and CDMA out of the box. The only impediment is that Sprint would have to authorize an unlock for you. This is something they simply refuse to do. If anyone at Sprint has told you that they can't unlock a 4S for domestic use with another carrier, they have lied to your face. This, by the way, is something they're doing with everyone who asks the question - just Google search "Sprint unlock iPhone 4S", and you'll see dozens of internet threads where people talk about being lied to by Sprint about this issue. The good news is that Sprint signed an agreement with the FCC regarding letting off-contract customers unlock their phones. The agreement takes effect in mid-March, and Sprint is dragging its feet until then. Once that deadline passes, if Sprint still hasn't agreed to unlock your phone, then they're in violation of the agreement, and you can and should report them to the FCC. I sure plan to. There is no such thing as an unlock code for an iPhone. It's done by restoring the phone using iTunes

Look iTunes>Preferences>Devices...is a backup listed for your iPhone 5 dated BEFORE you restored your iPhone 4 backup to your iPhone 5? If not, your data is gone. If there is a backup, on your iPhone 5: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings. You should now be able to restore that backup, if it exists, to your iPhone 5.

iOS 4.2.1 is the latest version available for the iPhone 3G, if apps require iOS higher than that then unfortunately you will not be able to install it.

Its an IMEI issue. In my case, about a year ago, after originally purchasing my iP4 from AT&T store, I had a prox. sensor issue. Went to the Apple Store, they replaced the phone. Here is where it all stems from. The IMEI of the new phone was never updated in AT&T/Carriers systems. For iOS updates prior to iOS5, this was not an issue. My phone did its iOS updates along the way with no probs. However, when I updated to iOS5, the firmware did not match the IMEI with what AT&T/carrier had. When I went to Apple Store for the issue about 3 days ago and was given a new phone....again....the new phones IMEI was never updated with AT&T/carrier. I then again attempted the upgrade to iOS5 with the new phone and iOS5 bricked that one also. Today, at the store, we tried 3 replacements with same outcome.
So, after 4 hours and 3 replacement phones with Apple Store Tech (BTW totally gobsmacked), we solved the issue. Luckily, due to iPhone 4S launch, there was an AT&T guy there with a computer tied to the AT&T network to work along with us. The issue is......once the IMEI's on carrier account and phone do not match, iOS5 shuts down the sim card reader within phone.....forever. How to reverse this?......this is a question Apple needs to come up with, because with my case, they have 5 "bricked" phones.
What solved the issue was to get a new phone with iOS4.3.5, new SIM from carrier/AT&T, have carrier/AT&T (in their system) change/match the IMEI to the new phone and activate new SIM. Then, do iOS5 upgrade.
Simple and makes total sense..........however........there is an internal firmware (Apple Security??) issue that bricks the phone once IMEI's dont match.
I am now on iOS5.....no problems......so far. Good luck to all others.

Exact same question as ankit1986, specifically with the photos while on cellular-only, and as simple as it sounds, I tried the hard reboot Ingo2711 suggested. Still experiencing the same error with the native apps reverting to on. It's killing our shared data-plan (2GB).
