Using voice-over function I see the result on the specific audio track but I don't hear anything. What to do?.

Making a film in imovie I never had problems with voice-over. However in my current project I experienced problems at the end. Using the voice-over function I see the result - audio waves at the voice-over track - but I don't hear any sound of this track if I review or play this part of the project. Somebody an idea what I did wrong? Thanks for any suggestion.

Not sure why, but sometimes a project will just cease playback of Voiceovers added to it. I've seen this before, but never had it persist into a new project. As with any issues that are specific to a single project, it's usually best to start over, as one problem is quite possibly indicative of further issues down the line with that same project.
As a workaround (if you REALLY want to avoid recreating the project) would be to copy the voiceover files from within the iMovie Project file (browse to your Movies/iMovie Projects/ folder and right-click or CTRL+Click on the name of the project, then click "Show Package Contents") for that project out to your Desktop (or any other accessible location), then drag them back in to add them as a regular audio track. I've used this trick successfully, but it's not 100% (going back to the 'one problem means more later' thing).

    I haven't seen this documented anywhere, and I can't replicate it for Administrator / Partner users of BC sites, but the toolbox does get closed (by default?) for some users in some circumstances.
    To get it back, you'll need to click the 'Add Modules' button, which is on the page editor between the "Page Content" heading, and the WYSWIG editor window.

  • My ipod touch stopped playing music in the middle of a song and now stops playing music. It says that it's playing a song but i don't hear anything. I've tried turning it off and on and restoring it's settings.

    So like the title (which i thought was suppose to be a question to tech support) suggests, my ipod touch has stopped playing any audio sound. I've turned it off and on and restored it to it's default settings and still nothing. If it helps, it stopped playing music a few minutes after i accidently had some water on it.

    - First place the iPod in a sealed container/bag of rice for a couple of days. Change the rice daily. Do not turn on or charge before it is dry.
    - The try the standard fixes, reset and restore, including restoring to factory defaults/new iPod.
    - Try both headphones and speaker.
    - If no usccessful then the water caused permenent damage to the iPod and service is required.

  • Driving Automator using Voice Over

    Hello,
    I am visually impaired and so use Voice Over for all MAC access. I am trying to create a workflow to speak the current time. Using Voice Over without sighted assistance I can access the required actions and variables but alas I cannot fathom out how to combine the actions into a workflow. I cannot find an edit area or whatever where I can view the actions so far and move them around as necessary.The MacHelp tells me to drag and drop the necessary actions and variables into the panel on the right (or words like that) but, of course, I cannot do that using Voice Over. I tried copy and paste but to no effect, primarily because I could not find the place to paste the actions into.
    So if anyone has successfully driven Automator using Voice Over without sighted help then please pass on your tips!

    How do I set up a new MacBook Pro without using Voice Over. I can't get past the initial Welcome screen. The VO commands do not work as indicated in the forced tutorial.

    Just click the Next and or Continue button. Voice over only starts shortly after you get to one of those screens and you wait to long to input something or click on an option and then Next or Continue. I think at the bottom of the screen there is an option to turn off the Voice over.

  • Interference/ Crackling sound while using voice over...

    Hi folks.
    I'm new to all this "ipod-stuff". I purchased a ipod nano 5G (16GB) lately.
    I was playing around with the voice over settings today and accidently discovered the following:
    I plugged the ipod to an ipod compatible receiver (Pioneer VSX-918 V) via the ipod-usb cable. The ipod was recognized without any problems and the receiver took over the ipod-controls. So far so good.
    It is possible to change the settings of the receiver, that it won't take over the ipod-control, so i can operate my ipod the "normal way" via scrollwheel/ ipod-menu and so on...
    While i was playing a song, i accidently pushed the center button and the ipod started to read out the current song and faded out the song itself just a little. While reading out I got a crackling interference like a bad tuned radio station, which stopped after the ipod had finished reading out the song.
    I tried the whole thing again, this time I paused the song and pushed the center-button for voice over. The ipod red out the current song with any interference...
    I tried again, plugged in plugged out, restart and so on...you know the deal. :/ Nothing changed...
    What's going on here?
    Receiver bad? ipod bad? Voice over is kinda crappy anyway, but is here something wrong with a chip or something?
    The german apple support couldn't help either and told me that this behaviour is normal, 'cause the voice over "voices" are kinda bad.
    Summary:
    Connected via USB to the receiver:
    Crackling while playing a song and activating voice over...
    No crackling while pausing playback and activating voice over...
    No crackling while playing songs without using voice over...
    Connected via 3,5 mm audio jack to any device/ earphones:
    No interference at all.

    The "crackling problem" is gone, but i got another one.
    I got a more or less loud "popping sound" when skipping tracks forward or backward, or when i manually select a track from a list and the ipod starts playing it.
    At first i didn't really realize it via the headphones from apple, since they aren't very good but it's there, too.
    But playing songs via my hifi-system i became pretty aware of that "initializing" like sound.
    I resetted my ipod via the method told on the apple support page (Hold on/off -->Menu/Centerbutton) and updated it in iTunes again, but it didn't go away.

    It sounds like you may have multiple problems, but none of them are likely to be caused by malware.
    First, the internet-related issues may be related to adware or a network compromise. I tend to lean more towards the latter, based on your description of the problem. See:

    If investigation shows that this is not a network-specific issue, then it's probably adware. See my Adware Removal Guide for help finding and removing it. Note that you mention AdBlock as if it should have prevented this, but it's important to understand that ad blockers do not protect you against adware in any way. Neither would any kind of anti-virus software, which often doesn't detect adware.
    As for the other issues, it sounds like you've got some serious corruption. I would be inclined to say it sounds like a failing drive, except it sounds like you just got it replaced. How did you get all your files back after the new drive was installed?

    VoiceOver is an Accessibility feature while Voice Control allows you to control the Music app via voice.
    To turn off VoiceOver triple click the Home button and go to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn it off. Use three fingers to scroll if necessary.

  • Hi, I can not get my iphone 4 voice over function to work. I turn it on and then it turns off automatical. I ok the message the message stays on the screen for 30 secs or so and then turns it off????

    I just had this same issue. It occured after I joined my school's Wi-Fi. Suddenly, my home ATV2 and iPhone4 weren't on speaking terms. All five other iphones, ipads, and macs were operating as they should. My phone was not. I tried everything: unplugging and restarting ATV2, deauthorizing all my devices and reauthorizing them, deleting and reinstalling remote app, and countless home sharing on and offs on all devices. Finally, I turned the Wi-Fi off and then on in the setting of my iphone. Boom. Situation remedied. I hope this helps.

    Since I do not understand at all what you are trying to do, I cannot correct your query, but I can explain the results.
    The analytic function is doing a running count of the number of records that have been outout so far. With no duplicates, this is somewhat clearer.
    SQL> WITH t AS (SELECT 1 om FROM dual UNION ALL
      2             SELECT 2 FROM dual UNION ALL
      3             SELECT 3 FROM dual UNION ALL
      4             SELECT 4 FROM dual UNION ALL
      5             SELECT 5 FROM dual)

             5          5However, when you have duplicates, both duplicate values get the running count from the last of the duplicates (i.e. the highest running count). Here, I have duplicated 4 and see what I get:

  • Using "voice over" to add music soundtrack

    Hi,
    I was wondering if this would work:
    Attach "midi out" from keyboard to line in (headphone-type jack) on late-2009 imac and then use the "voice over" function in FCE. While watching my sequence I would play my soundtrack music on the keyboard.
    I thought this would be a good way to get the timing right and perhaps avoid a lot of little steps.
    I would just try it, of course, except I don't have an XLR to "headphone type jack" adaptor and would rather not buy one only to find out the it won't work or that it will sound really poor.

    Midi-out will not work for this. Don't even try it - the signal (digital) is the wrong type to connect to an analog audio-in. And if I remember correctly, MIDI is 5v or higher, which could blow the audio-in.
    But if your keyboard has an *audio out* - that would work with the audio-in on your Mac (line level or headphone out - most keyboards I've seen have one or both of them).
