Using windows computer to visit my mac

i have a mac and a windows computer. both of them are in the same network. i'm now able to use my mac to visit the windows computer by turning on the sharing on my windows. but now i'm wondering about how i can visit my mac using my windows computer. i have been trying for many times but i still cannot figure out the way.

That is irrelevant over a network connection. The file server displays the file directories such that the Windows computers can see them. MacDrive is only necessary for a direct connect hard drive.

I have just moved from using Windows all my life to Mac OS Lion. My accounting software "Tally" does not run on it. Please help !

I have just moved from using Windows all my life to buying a Mac Book Pro running on OS Lion. But my accounting softwares Tally 7.2 and Tally 9 do not run on it.
I just learnt that the software platform of Tally Accounting softwares are specific to Windows only.
I need to run the accounting software, Mail and several spread sheets and documents at the same time.
Is there some way I can do this on the Mac Lion OS?

Yes, you can share files across a network as long as the network server is setup so your Mac can connect to it. How do I back up audio files from a Windows based ipod to a Mac so
that I can restore the ipod to Mac Format? I don't want to loose the
files on the ipod -- I'd like to copy them to the Mac first...

of a library I purchased "with" the ipod... The party I purchased the

Adobe Premiere Elements 12 downloaded and bought on windows computer, transferable to a mac?

I'm about to buy Adobe Premiere Elements 12 on my windows computer.
Can I transfer the licens for this, and other Adobe products, to a new mac computer? Or are the licenses valid on all platforms?
What do I have to do to prepare before? I've read/heard about License Inactivation on the windows installed applications, before installing on the new computer - is that all?

When you purchase Elements programs they are valid for either platform though you cannot install the PC version on a Mac, and vice versa. But you do get access to both versions for the same license. Most applications sold by Adobe are not provided for both platforms with the same license however.
You are allowed to have activated installations on two machines. You can install on as many as you like but cannot activate more than two of the installations. You can deactivate if you need to to activate somewhere else.

Cant download ios5. Using windows computer. Downloaded update 3 times gets to 100% and then says connection has timed out and I lose the lot. Any suggestions

I have been trying to download ios5 using my windows compute Windows 7. I connected Ipad and opened Itunes etc. Three times I have sat there for up to an hour downloding the program and it gets to the end (100%) sometimes it even processses the file and then I get a message saying the connection has timed out and to try again. I am on a wireless connection and it is so frustrating. I have the latest version of itunes. Any suggestions?

Try temporarily disabling your firewall and anti-virus software then try the download again.

How to update using Windows computer to download update files

I have a macbook I use at home, with OSX 10.4.7. Due to lack of a fast internet connection, I cannot update the macbook. At office, I have a faster connection, but on a windows computer. How do I download the files that are required for Macbook particularyly? I see files only on the macbook software update window, but on visiting the website, I see only a list of common updates, with nothing specifically for Macbook.

If you see more than one version of a download, you should choose the Client, Intel version, for a MacBook.

Has anyone been able to update to Mango using Windows Phone 7 Connector (for Mac) ?

I've been trying to update my Trophy, but have not been able to get past the 7392 update. Since I am on a Mac, I have been using the god-awful Windows Phone 7 Connector. I've tried using Windows, through Parallels, but it bogs my machine down so much, I can't tell if the software has crashed or the machine is frozen.
Looking for ways to Jedi Force the update all point to using a PC and Zune, but nothing for Windows Phone 7 Connector.

In the case of the Mac, I would have to suggest that you just be patient. I am not familiar with the Windows Phone Connector, but the reported "force" of disconnecting the internet connection while checking for updates is a Zune workaround, not advertised in any way to work on a Mac.
It is not Verizon who is holding back the update. Microsoft had announced in the beginning that they were going to roll it out in a controlled fashion, with only 10% during the first week, and ramping things up if they went smoothly. Things DID go smoothly, and they have ramped up, and from what I have read, at this point the update is available to about 50% of Windows Phone users. As reported by WPCentral, after ten days, 20% of users are running Mango. Compare that to 38% of Android users being updated to Gingerbread 10 MONTHS after the update was released (http://www.wpcentral.com/just-ten-days-microsoft-has-updated-20-phone-mango-world-wide-android-weeps). Microsoft is well ahead of that curve. Remember - they have said that they expect everyone to have Mango available to them by the end of October. I know it is hard to sit and wait while your friends are using Mango, but I hope this helps you.

Using Windows CS5 files on a Mac

This is a generic question. I have never used a Mac based system, most of my time has been spent on Windows and several Unix, main frames etc. I really have never used a Mac so I am ignorant of the real Mac basics.
I use CS5 Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, InDesign and Dreamweaver mostly. If I had a client who was running on a Mac who wanted me to supply files from any of the CS5 applications I use, can I just supply the psd, ai files from my Windows machines and they will be able to use them as is ? (I realise there are some font issues. Not sure exactly what, though).
I could not locate any Adobe document about moving between the two platforms, so I'm concluding the OS is actually irrelevant to the CS5 apps. But, somehow I have this niggling feeling that it will not be quite that simple.
Can anyone help ?

Using Windows based software on a MAC: Parallel Desktop or Boot Camp

Why would a third party propriety Database Base (Royalty Data Vault, by Orlando Products.com) work in the Windows OS on a MAC using Boot Camp, but not be able to OPEN in a Windows VM using Parallel Desktop?

So you said that it works on bootcamp but not on Parralels. This is because Boot camp works directly through your apple hardware, whereas parallels works through an Emulation environment. The company that produced Paralells si coming out with a new Version of Parallels that is in a BETA version currently. It will actually let you Run Parralells from your Bootcamp Partition, without installing the OS twice. It is also supposed to fix some minor bugs, and supply it with a little more compatibility.
But you have to remember that BootCamp is still a BETA software, and that Parallels doesn't take advantage of your mac's hardware directly, so currently you could be having problems on both. I would buy both programs when each are fully UN-Beta this spring.
As for getting your problem solved now, you can't be promised anything, simply becaus of the above reasons. But good luck. And so you know you can install the BETA version of Parallels if you want to try it and see how it works.

If the interview requires Windows Media Player to be running to conduct the interview, then I fear you may be stuck, there is not a version of Windows Media Player for Mac - It is for Windows. Your options in this case would be to borrow a Windows PC or install a valid copy of Windows on your MacBook under BootCamp.

How do you set up VPN on Mac from information that's only from a Windows computer?

My workplace only supports setting up VPN on my Windows computer, but not my Mac, and I would love to access VPN from my Mac as well.
I am running Mountain Lion on my Mac and Windows 7 on my PC.

You will need to know what type of VPN they use, L2TP/IPsec and PPTP or a proprietary one.
With that information there are lots of guides on how to set up the L2TP and PPTP on the web, usually they are for a commercial VPN supplier but you would need to put your companies info into the correct boxes in System Preferences/Network.
If it is proprietary, go to the makers web site and see if here is a suitable client to download and use, again enter your companies info into that software.
There is also Open VPN client that may work.
One thing to be aware of is that some companies forbid any connection to their system unless using approved software.
