Using wireless number pad on OS 10.6

Hi everyone,
I was running OS 10.5.8 on my old G5 and I was using this numberpad:
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/keyboards/number_pads/devices/3075&cl=au,en
It ran fine on leopard, but now I've got snow leopard I cannot get it to work.
Does anyone know how I can get this device to work on snow leopard?
Or worst case scenario, can someone advise me of a wireless numberpad that does work under snow leopard?
Thanks,

  • Using the Number Pad on my non-Apple bluetooth keyboard on MBP Retina

Hi, I was able to easily connect my bluetooth keyboard to my MBP Retina, but my Number Pad doesnt seem to work. I was trying to find an option to allow the numpad in keyboard settings, but couldnt find anything. I was hoping somebody would know what to do so that I could use my Number Pad for punching in numbers on Excel, online, etc. It's a huge pain to use the straight line of keys above the letters and I'm used to using the number pad. FYI, I'm using a Logitech MX 5500 Keyboard, if that makes any difference. Any thoughts are appreciated!

    All right,
Not really clear yet but try either pressing the two shift key for a few seconds (or pressing many times both at the same time) or pressing shift with space. It worked with me. Funy that the problem only happens in excel.

  • I cannot use my number pad at all.

I made the newest upgrade yesterday.  I am unable to size my fonts correctly, thereby causing the sentences to blend.  I also cannot use my number pad at all.

  • Can I use the number pad to change Spaces in Yosemite like I could in Mavericks?

I'd really like to be able to setup Spaces to use Option-# to changes Spaces in Yosemite like I could in Mavericks. Is there a way to set that up? I've tried everything I could think of. I hate using the Option-Arrow Keys...it was so much more simple in Mavericks. Any help would be appreciated as I use 8-9 different desktops at work, and using the  arrows is a pain in the rear end. Thanks!

Control - 1 or applicable Desktop number works for me.

  • Can no longer switch desktops using control-number on the number pad.

Now that I upgraded to Mavericks, I can no longer switch desktops in Mission Control using control-number on the number pad. Only the numbers on the top row work.
It's rather annoying, as it's much easier and quicker for me to swap desktops with my right hand (thumb on control, finger on numeric keypad) than left handwith the top row.
    Anyone else having this problem?
Remember, Apple, a lot of folks still have full keyboards!

changing the keyboard shortcuts does the trick!
(Apparently Mavericks thinks the number pad numbers are different than the top row numbers. If you redo the shortcuts to use the number pad, the top row numbers no longer work with Mission Control)

  • Edit functions using number pad no longer working

suddenly (within the last week) I try to say, move a track by selecting it, typing say, + 1.0 enter, and last week that would have moved the track 1 second to the right. Now, everything locks up. If I force quit the finder, when it restarts, everything works perfectly again. If I try to move the playhead by using the number pad, the same thing happens. I deleted preferences, repaired permissions, changed out the keyboard, nothing seems to help. I'm wondering if one of the updates is wonky, so I'm asking if anyone else (I know it's unlikely, but I don't want to reinstall) has experienced this anomoly.

i've not experienced this particular issue, but before you try a full reinstall, I find it is often useful to create a new user account, and test to see if the problem still occurs in that new 'clean' account ... it often appears to slove the issue(s), which points towards some conflict/corruption within your original user account.
you could then chose to either migrate to the new user account, try deleting all your old user prefs (not just fcp) and see if that helps ... or just use fast user switching and continue using your original account for daya to day tasks and maintain the 'clean' account just for editing
    hope it helps

  • Quality Number Pad

Does anyone know of a 'quality' number pad for use with a MacBook?
There seem to be a few wireless number pads out there - but none of them match the Apple build quality / aesthetics. Given the increasing number of 'professionals' using Apple products it seems an obvious ommission from Apple's own product line.
Just in case anyone from Apple is reading you may want to throw in a few user definable function keys on to any such number pad as any old school PC users would doubtless be keen to have regularly used Excel function keys (F2 for Edit, F4 to fix references, etc - rather than the 'twister' gymnastics needed to perform those functions in Excel for Mac)....

Is there a reason you don't just by the Aluminum Keyboard? It has a number pad built-in and it's also a very nice full-sized keyboard, which neither of the Mac Laptops have (though the MacBook Pro does come very close). It's also quite handy and allows you to get something like a Griffin Elevator to lift your laptop off the table. Better for your view-angle and better for the laptop's cooling.
Otherwise, I think the Optimus is selling a number pad, which is rather sexy.

  • 10.8.4 and extended keyboard number pad issues

To anyone that has heard of this before. I've checked about every discussion here and I don't know that this issue has been resolved. I recently upgraded to 10.4.8 as most here have done. The odd and annoying thing thats happened now is that my apple wireless keyboard's number pad no longer works; The number 5 key seams to have become related to a left click on the mouse wherever the curser is on the screen, but no other keys work. This problem has also crippled any web browser I use such as Safari or Firefox; meaning that if I attempt to use the number pad in a login field, the mouse can no longer select or move open windows.
My one remedy to all of this has been to open the Force Quit Applications menu and all is well with the mouse again. One last point I can make is that by creating a new user account, all my keyboard and mouse problems go away, and everything acts as it should. I just don't want to have to back up everything and reinstall the system. So my mac faithful friends, please help.

    I found the answer!!!!!
I was looking in universal access under the mouse settings and noticed something called mouse keys. Some how I turned that option on and it turned the number pad into a way of moving the curser multiple directions with the ability to select items by pressing the #5 key. I hope this may help others, I've been stuck with this one for a few days.

  • Separate Number Pad for small keyboard?

I am days or maybe hours away from ordering my new 27" iMac but ...
Does Apple make, or support, a separate number pad that will work with the small wireless keyboard? (It would be a good thing for the MacBooks too.)
I like to use a number pad for some things, I also prefer a cordless keyboard. Those are mutually incompatible choices at the moment. I see separate number pads for PCs (Logitech for one) would one of these work with the new iMac? It would save space for me except a few hours a month when I need it.

FYI - This topic discusses a separate Bluetooth numeric keypad (from Microsoft) that appears to work with Macs.

  • Number Pad stuck in Cursor mode.. any ideas to turn num lock on?

I have the older version of the apple wireless kb and for some reason i thought the number pad never worked. I was ok with it because I never used it all too much. Months later my mouse froze up when my dog stepped on my keyboard but the cursor was moving. I noticed her paw was on the number pad and realized the numbers were moving the cursor. I figured it was some how in a num lock off state.
My question is how to take turn the num lock on so I can finally use my number pad, because the keyboard doesn't actually have a num lock button.
I have looked at all the preferences and short cuts in the help and preferences.
Please HElP it driving me crazy!

  • BUG: Ctrl+Alt+ number to switch modules only works with number pad

Really annoying, since this worked nicely in the beta. If, for example, you hold down Ctrl+Alt+1 (pressing 1 on the top row of the keyboard) to switch to the Library Module, it doesn't work. If you use 1 on the numeric keypad, it works fine. What's the big deal, you ask? Well, try using the number pad on a laptop - you either get to use the number keys or the regular keys, so this shortcut is essentially useless on anything other than a full-size keyboard.

Windows treats Ctrl + Alt shortcuts as special. They are used as hotkeys for desktop icons, and if a key is used for that purpose, it overrides any use within a program. I did a little research, and setting a desktop hotkey to 3 will cause your LR symptoms, where you can't used the normal numbers and have to use the keypad to switch modules. On the other hand, you'd probably be seeing the effect of using the non-number-pad keys (they'd launch a program), so it's a mystery.
In my testing, I noticed that the Firefox browser uses that key combination to switch between its tabbed sessions. If you're running that program, you could test to see if it exhibits the same symptoms.

  • Qosmio x500/02G Number Pad Not Working

    Hello,
I have a x500 that i recently purchased and installed Windows 7 Professional on it. Now i cannot use the number pad on the right hand side of the keyboard.
I've tried using various combinations of NUMLOCK and SCROLLLOCK to no avail. Surely there a seperate number pad doesn't require drivers?!

The problem was a faulty keyboard. there was a bank of keys on the numeric pad that were non-functional.
A bit dissapointing given i'd had the laptop for less than 24 hours. Took it back to the store for a replacement.

  • Number pad

I was previously able to use the number pad on my keyboard when inputting information to a PDF file, such as an ACORD form. Something reset and now I am only able to use the number keys above my letters. Does anyone know what this may be? , this has my boss and I aggrevated. H E L P, please.

Let us see if more information can help. What OS? What hardware? Is this a keyboard on a laptop or a keyboard ion a desktop? What brand and model laptop or keyboard? If on a mac are there any special kexts installed to enable all features on the keyboard? What is an Accord form? Are you typing in Reader (what version) or the Reader plug-in in a browser?

  • IMac, 2.5-- Mtn lion,  -- number pad non responsive

With my four month old, iMac 2.5,  I suddenly found that I was unable to use the number pad with certain dialog boxes in Photoshop, notably the image size dialog box.  I trahsed prefs, restarted, etc.  No luck.  Adobe boards suggested that it was a failed keyboard.  I exchanged it at an Apple store today.........same problem.
I notice that I can't get the keys to repeat, either, nor can I exit from certain apps using  the enter key....
I'd be most grateful for any insight
