Using with Hotel MP3 player clocks

Many hotels have clocks with MP3 player connections. I can get my Touch alarm set, and the selected alarm sound will play thru the desktop alarm/clock, but I can't figure out (if there is a way) to have the Touch play something from the Library at the chosen alarm time. The only selections under Edit Alarm/Sound are 5 sounds.
Am I asking the impossible?

I think a universal "none" is probably a bit presumptuous. If you're able to get music onto the player in Windows via drag and drop, I see no reason why that won't work on the Mac as well, provided that your Mac can recognize the drive. I would imagine it can, as I've never come across a PC formatted drive that my Mac didn't recognize.
There is also a freeware application called XNJB that apparently works as an interface between a Mac and a Creative MP3 player. I haven't used either, so can't vouch for them at all.
Just that like I said, a universal "none" is probably a bit presumptuous.

Any speaker system that can receive input from a single 3.5mm stereo minijack should work with a MP3 player. Are you looking for a 2.1, 2.0, portable or docking station? Btw, exactly which player do you have?

I am ordering the 3300 ITrigue and I don'tk now if I can set it up with an mp3 player or not. I know in back of it the subwofer only has an output not and input....if there is a way could someone let me know thatnks Denny

There's only input jack for connection to audio source from the subwoofer. If you're purchasing this speaker mainly for connection to your MP3 player then it should be fine but if you're planning to input additional audio source to the speaker such as to a computer then you may need to get a stereo splitter adaptor so that you can connect both the computer and MP3 player together to the speaker.
There's a copy of the startup manual guide for the speaker at the Product Documentation page which you can download for reference.

You don't.
You would need to read the directions that came with the player to learn how to put music on it.

Using plain old mp3 player with iTunes on Mac

Hi all,
I want to use a plain, old USB MP3 player (mass storage-type) with iTunes on my Mac (OS X 10.4.x). I asked this question over on the Windows iTunes forum at

and wondered if there's anything that'll work on the Mac.
In Windows, I basically have resorted to drag-n-drop from the iTunes window to a Windows Explorer window showing the USB MP3 player as a removable drive, or to using iTunes Agent (http://ita.sourceforge.net), which is a Windows-only solution.
What's the solution on Mac OS X?

Using an iPod with another mp3 player

My wife got a Sansa Lil Monster mp3 player for Christmas and I know it will not work with iTunes. How do I transfer music onto her player without messing up my iPod?

If you can drag songs to your MP3 player through Windows Explorer you just need to locate the files in the iTunes Music and copy them over. This should have no effect on your iPod. You won't be able to copy songs downloaded from the iTunes music store as they will only work on iPods or Motorola iTunes enabled phones but everything else is usable.

I just bought a Creative Zen MicroPhoto MP3 player and I love it. I was wondering if they make a piece so I can play my MP3 player in my car like my friend can with his iPod. Just wondering.......

Any device that has a cable which connects to the headphone jack of an ipod will work with a Creative mp3 player. The best method of connecting is with a cable to the aux in on the car stereo, although some people have commented that the volume in their car doesn't get loud enough that way(it depends on the car). Another way to connect is using a cassette adapter if your car has a tape player. If not, the third option is using an FM transmitter(they are illegal to use in some places such as the UK though).

I went to upgrade to the new MTP firmware, and in the middle of installation I recieved a "Firmware Problem" error. The computer, any creative software, and any firmware does not recognize the device. When I turn on my Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra I get a "Firmware Problem" screen that drops me to the Rescue Mode menu.
How do I get me MP3 player back?

What OS are you using?What is/was your version of your firmware?In win XP, I had some problems getting the darn thing back to work but eventually got it (it actually wasn't that hard, but that no thanks to Creative but to the feedback of other users?on this forum). What you may need to do, is read the message threads from Rich_T. He went through the same problem and that solved his problem. The good news is that you will get it to work. So check out those threads and replies on those threads, and you should be in good shape. If you still don't get it to work, send me a private message, and I'll send you a list of steps what you need to do. The thing I had to go through was simply uninstall Win Media Player (Player, and then the run time with roll back) but only after the stupid installation crashes!!?After you uninstall this, you should be able to upgrade your firmware, and then get it to work. Export options for use with Windows Media Player

In Captivate 5, what formats can be exported to (now that AVI is no longer a choice) that will work with Windows Media Player? Unfortunately a Flash based file is not an option in this instance.

You could publish from Captivate as FLV or F4V, then use a conversion utility to convert to AVI if you want.

Need help with Digital mp3 player MX

Hey guys, when i try to switch on my digital mp3 player it displays a msg saying """"English font only... Download default.rom from cdrom... buildup L2P TABLE() Wrong ulLaddress.....""""
Then it shut down and when i try to connect to the USB cable my computer doesnt find it... so i cannot format the dri've or download the default.rom because i cannot access it from my computer...

I have Rhomba or actually an MX00.
After reseting/formating the player according to the instructions on sid4794. I spent my whole Saturday morning for this, I finally managed to revi've my device and I can use it. However when i turn it on I still get the message "English font only" - "download default.rom from the CD". I don't know where my CD is so I downloaded the latest firmware (.07.). Now when I run the file my computer I get a message "your player is not connected please connect your player" this although it is connected,!. I.E. I can transfer files to and from the recognized player but still I am asked to connect it. Therefor I cannot update the firmware. I tried disconnecting and the running the file, Reconnecting and then running the file etc. It just does not work!
Any Ideas on what should I do?
PS. before trouble started I could see files named in Hebrew not now?how can I get it back?

Using 3g as mp3 player

I have a 3g phone that is no longer active. Can I use its features except the phone without an active sims card?

I have a first generation iPhone that is no longer activated which I kept after purchasing a 3G a year ago last August. I've installed every firmware update released since that time on my first generation iPhone with the no longer activated SIM card inserted in the iPhone - the SIM card that was used with the iPhone when it was activated. I used the new SIM card included and pre-installed with the 3G for the 3G activation with AT&T.

As iTunes is basically an iPod only affair here are some thoughts.
FM Radio is an option on the iPod by using the Apple Radio Remote.
Replacement iPod batteries are widely available (I just Googled for 'iPod Batteries').
But if you're sure...
This application allows you to sync iTunes playlists with an mp3 player that mounts as a volume on the desktop (I'm using it with my PDA Phone (with a 512Mb MMC card) - but it's a poor, poor relation to my wife's Nano with proper iTunes integration). So this application will work with any mobile Phone/PDA or mp3 player with removable media and a card reader.
