Using WRT54G2 for Bluray player

Hi all- thought I would ask before attempting something that might be impossible? We have a new bluray player- Panasonic BD 60. It has an ethernet connector on the back and claims to access Picasa, Youtube etc. I currently run a WAG200G for my internet connection. I purchased a WRT54G2 hoping i can use it to connect the bluray player to the network.
If anyone wants to help advise on the setup, that would be great- ask me what other info is required to work this out!  many thanks in advance...Theo

The WAG 200G is established and functioning as the main modem/router. I use it wired for the desktop and wireless for a laptop.
The WRT54G2 is for the bluray, and that is too far away for wired- I would need to go wireless.
I keep hearing about Gaming adapters and access points and bridges- which seem to be what I should have got. I guess my question is can the WRT54G2 work as one of these?
The manual for the blu ray is not hugely useful- but does show it can set the usual parameters like IP address- auto or manual, subnet mask, gateway access, DNS, proxy server settings. I am hoping this means it looks like a standard device to the router and would therefore be ok?
appreciate the help!

I recently installed a new westell gateway 7500 to provide an additional ethernet port for my samsung bluray player.
Got a green light, full internet connection for my pc but no go for the bluray player. The status shows as connected but i am unable to access the net.
Have checked and rechecked the configuration of the blue ray player, samsung says that the modem is blocking access
The firewall is off. Have rebooted EVERYTHING several times.

  • Accidentally un-installed winDVD for Bluray player

In an attempt to fix a non-existent problem with my bluray player on my satellite, I uninstalled program not realizing that you have to pay for it. The WinDVD program came installed on my computer out of the box. My question is how do I retrieve this program? If I perform a system recovery to out of the box condition off the hard drive, will this program return. I tried system recovery from a prior date but that did not work. I did perform a back-up on dvd's but when i tried that it appears that maybe there is something wrong with the back-up as no matter what disc I install it continues to say please insert disc #1. If anyone has any insight on this I would greatly appreciate it.

  • Slideshow consisting of programmed image sequences using a BluRay player?

I posted this is iPhoto, and the only response suggested I try Keynote. So here goes.
My partner has just moved from slides to digital (using my camera). She has often been asked to show her slides, and now that she has digital photos, it's up to me to make sure she can present them using a HD digital projector driven from a Bluray player. No problem there, except I'd like to take advantage of digital techniques to brighten up the shows, but don't want to go as far as preprogramming them totally. The shows will remain under manual control (press button – next image; press button - next image) while she talks about the images, or simply presents them and let the images themselves do the talking. I hope to add a bit extra, and infuse some of the images with digital magic.
I want to set up a series of images that will be shown in sequence, with a 2-5 second dissolve between images. Those images (all 1920 x 1080) may be pure stills, or there may be some movement (pans, zooms) already programmed, or they may be HD Quicktime movies. However, these "images" will dissolve to the next image only when a button is pressed -- and this could be at any time-point while the image is being displayed. If a particular image reaches its endpoint (finished a pan, for example), the image just sits there waiting for the button to be pressed. For example, a show might go like this:
Image 1 - Still. (Press button for dissolve to next image)
Image 2 - Still with preset zoom-in. (Press button for dissolve to next image, even if zoom not finished)
Image 3 - Still with pan. (Press button for dissolve to next image, even if pan not finished)
Image 4 - Short Quicktime movie. (Press button…)
    Image 5 - Still. (Press button…)
Basically, the show will be a sequence of images -- still or in motion -- but the next in sequence comes up only when a button is pressed.
A further complication: I don't trust computers to do a live show. I would rather use a dedicated player, like a Bluray player, to feed the info direct to the projector. Whatever software I use, it has to be able to export the show either as one large file, or a series of files, that I can put onto a disk and be playable by a BluRay player. The file type required will depend on the make and model of the BluRay player used, but I hoping it will be Quicktime H.264 format.
    Two questions:
Q1: Is Keynote the software for me, or should I be looking for something else?
Q2: Will I be able to use a BluRay player, or will a laptop be necessary?

Thanks for the reply, Kelly. Am I correct in saying that the methods suggested in your reply require a computer, running either QT or Keynote, to drive the digital projector? Whereas I'd really prefer to use a standalone BluRay player.
Thinking about this a bit more, what I want is to play back a series of DVD-style "chapters" (stills, stills with pans, and video) but in 1920 x 1080 format, and whenever I press "forward" the output jumps to the next chapter and cross-dissolves while doing so. I might have to look into BluRay to see if cross-dissolve (at any time-point) from one chapter to the next is a part of the BluRay specification, or can be authored-in somehow.
Finally, what capabilities does Keynote have that a video-editing program like Final Cut would not have? This slide-show thing is really a precursor to generating HD audio-visuals, and I assume that if Final Cut can be used to generate, from raw footage, a Hollywood-type movie from woe to go, that it would encompass all that Keynote could do. So, if I had Final Cut, would Keynote be of any use to me?

  • How can I get my Panasonic 3D TV and BluRay Player to go online using Time Capsule?

So I've extended my home network using my Time Capsule so that I have a stronger signal in different parts of my home. My Time Capsule isn't hard wired to the modem, but I'm now getting a stronger signal in parts of my house that never had good signal strength. That being said, I've set up my Time Capsule in my living room right next to my home theater system. I thought since Time Capsule is connected to the internet, I would be able to connect my 3D TV and BluRay player (both Panasonic) to it. I did wire connect the tv and BD player to the Time Capsule, but no connection is happening between the tv and BD player and net. Can anyone help me out a bit? Does the Time Capsule need to be hard wired to the modem for this to work?

Let's check your settings first on the Time Capsule.
Open AirPort Utility - Click Manual Setup
Click the Wireless tab below the row of icons
What setting do you see for Wireless Mode?
What type of router (make / model number) is providing the "main" wireless network that the Time Capsule is trying to "extend"?

  • How to make a CD of MP3 songs to play on a Bluray player without ITunes creating separate folders for each album

I'm trying to make a CD full of MP3 files that I can play on my Bluray player for a long party, but when I burned the disc using ITunes, it created separate folders for each source album, and it won't play.  You have to open each individual album to get the songs to play.
Can you make a cd that has all of the songs in one folder?

  • [help] Transcoding for Bluray using a CS5 project on CS4

    Hey guys, I'm back again.
I'm not sure how to approach this, but I am currently using Encore CS5 but my school uses CS4. I created a full project (the same film that I have had issues with previously) and changed the build from DVD to Bluray and tried to have CS4 transcode. As soon as the menus were done rendering, CS4 will crash citing a rendering error. As I am typing right now, CS5 is transcoding for bluray without a single hitch. The only problem is, my laptop does not have a bluray burner, so i have to rely on the school's system that still runs CS4 to burn the bluray.
I'm thinking that a workaround to this is probably to duplicate my project and bring in the transcoded files as an asset and put them in the timeline, place in the chapter markers/poster frames and build from there. I'm wondering if there's an easier way to do this.

There is no need to burn iso to disc using any other software.
You can burn iso to disc from Encore also.
Steps to burn iso to disc through encore -
    1. create a new project
    2. Go to build panel
    3. select the Format as Blu ray and output as Blu ray disc
    4. Select source as Disc image.
    5. Browse the image path and burn the blu ray disc.
    Thanks,

  • I can't watch a video with the extension mpg or avi or anyother one using flexplayer for my ipad. Which player i can download to watch the videos that i receive in my email?

I can't watch a video with the extension mpg or avi or anyother one using flexplayer for my ipad. Which player i can download to watch the videos that i receive in my email?

Unfortunatelly, something’s not working fine on Flexplayer during the last cupple of months. A lot of updates have been released lately and the problems persist. Since iOS 6 was on the air, the problems became even worst. It’s a shame, but I think it’s time to change the app we are using. The alternative I found is 8Player, it works fine, similar to Flexplayer (but nicer interfase), and the best is that it supports “.flv” (not sure Flexplayer did). You can save your files to your hard disc using iTunes and then transfer them again to your idevice, once you’ve installed 8Player. I hope this helps. Bye bye Flexplayer!!

  • Is Using the Automatic Update for Flash Player Safe? It is Installed In System Preferences On My Mac

    Hello-
One day I noticed that there was an icon on my MacBook Pro of Adobe Flash on the last row of system Preferences.  I had never seen it before, and I had ben using Flash for a long time and updating it regularly.
It recently told me there is a newer version.  I did not let it install it because I am having so many problems with viewing Flash Videos on websites.  I have a MacBook Pro, Mac OS X 10.6.8.  I use Safari 5.1.5, the latest as far as I know.
In using this automatic updater for Flash (there are actually several tabs when I click the Adobe icon not just the updater) in the Advanced tab of the Flash Player icon are there any special things I should do if I click yes update?  should I close all the windows, apps, Safari?  do a restart?  I am debating if I should do a Clean Install, wipe all Flash Player off the Mac and just install the latest version rather then letting the updater install the latest version, which I think is 11.2.202.228.  I currently have 11.1.102.64 with a bunch of video issues.
    Thanks for any assistance.

  • Using iPod Touch with Bluray Player

I have an LG Bluray player with a built in iPod dock. I recently loaded some movies on my iPod and would love to watch them on my tv. I can bring them up when docked, and the sound works just not the video. Does anyone know the appropriate way to connect the Bluray to the TV for video? Do I need to buy an extra cord or do I just need to rearrange the cords I have now? This is new to me, so any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

I've never heard of such a thing what model blu-ray player is it

  • How can I use ios internal music player for playing music?

    Hi All,
I know how to play MP3s using Adobe Air, but I have no idea how can I possibly use the INTERNAL MUSIC PLAYER of iOS with Adobe Air? Is tha possible? Is there any native extentions for this purpose or some codes??
Thanks a lot and I appreciate any help in this case please?
    Ali

Thanks a lot for your kind reply. Now at least I know where to go from here!
Actually I have no experience with Native extensions so far, even while I've developed some apps for Android and iOS using Adobe Flash CS6, that they happen all to have sound players as well.
The problem is, in my Apps (sample below) I have programmed the ability to let users Play / Pause / Stop (Navigate) the MP3s that will be downloaded from Internet based on their selection. as this player is NOT using the iOS native player, consequently, the main negative results are as follows:
    - App does not catch downloaded mp3 files for offline use or if WIFI disconnected suddenly (unlike iOS player)
    - in Lock screen, Users do not have access to the playback of sound.
    - wireless FM transmitters or other kits used in cars, can not control the playback unlike iOS internal player.
Based on above discussion and your suggestion to use Native extentions, I just found this one:
    https://github.com/mateuszmackowiak/SoundExtension
Do you think this will satisfy my needs?

  • How do i watch my purchased dvds on apple tv if i usually use an apple dvd player for playback on my mac?

How do i watch my purchased dvds on apple tv if i usually use an apple dvd player for playback on my mac?

Nothing technical has been discussed. It is blocked because of licensing/copy protection.
I have to buy another DVD player?
The Apple TV is not a DVD player. So if you do not already own a player, then yes you will have to purchase one to view them on your TV.

There is no flash player for IOS. Adobe is removing flash from all mobile devices. There are some browsers in the app store like skyfire but they have mixed reviews and only work on limited content.

  • Reinstall Toshiba 3D Bluray Player for Qosmio F750

    Dear Toshiba Support team,
I installed the "new" Toshiba Video Player v4.00.6.09 from the download section for F750. After that, the "old" Toshiba 3D Bluray player crashed as soon as I started it. As the new installed "Toshiba Video Player v4.00.6.09 f" did not support 3D Bluray discs and was dated from 2010, I deinstalled it. But the Toshiba 3D Bluray player was still crashing. So I decided to deinstall and reinstall the "old" "Toshiba 3D Bluray player ". Deinstalling was no problem, but reinstalling is not possible as the download file for Toshiba 3D Bluray player from the official Toshiba download section "Toshiba Bluray 3d Player V.1.0.1.299" is only an update file that needs an installed old version of Toshiba Bluray 3d Player.
Dear supprot team, where / how, please, can I get the setup *"full install" files for the Toshiba Bluray 3d Player for F750*? (A complete system recovery by DVD and reinstallment of everything just for this player would not be a good option me and especially my family would like).
Thank you so much for your help,
    best regards
    Wolferich

    Hello,
I am also looking for the full install of Toshiba Bluray Player V1.0.1.299.
I planning to do a clean OS install on my Qosmio F750.

  • Using a custom video player (skin) for Event Videos?

    Hi
I'd like use something other than the 9 standard video skins that come with Captivate 6 (Halo, Clear and Corona). Is it possible to use a custom video player or at least a different skin for an Event video?  And, if so, does anyone know where I could find a collection of custom skins (free or otherwise)?
    Thanks
    Paul

Well sure enough, that WPF MediaKit indeed uses D3DImage for the WPF interop. In fact he does things very similar to me except mostly he seems to use DirectShow whereas I'm 100% Media Foundation. Maybe should rethink that... If only DirectShow had H264
support in Windows 8. Stupid licensing issues. Anyway thanks again for that link.
