Using x-y charts

Hello,
I am trying to create an x-y chart with more than one series on it. I have 1440 records and three fields, S, F and E and I want to plot S vs F for E=0 and another series S vs F for E=1.
One way is to change the colour of the point based on the value of E. Is this possible? I can not find a setting that allows me to change the colours of the points even though the chart plots every point with a different colour!
Another solution would be to create dummy fields S0, S1, F0 and F1 and plot two series, S0 vs F0 and S1 vs F1, however I can not see how this can be achieved either as I can only select one pair of fields for each chart.
Am I missing something in the use of the graph or is this really a limitation of CR charts?

Hello,
I am really struggling to see how I can use the XY graph to plot the data from two fields. I have simplified my graph to now just want one series. I want to see Field1 against Field2 with a single point for each record and no summary.
Using Chart Expert I have selected each of the possible configurations for the grouping. That is:
On Change of... but that is not what I need as I want all points plotted
For each record...and I get a different coloured point for each record
For all records...and I get a single point summarising all records.
Is it really not possible to plot two fields against each other?

How to change the area of cells used as pie chart legend?

In Numbers '13 I cannot drag the legend area separately (as I could do in Number '09). The same on iPad.
Did I miss something?

The line "chtChart.SeriesCollection.NewSeries" does nothing.
After legend entries have been deleted, the only way to restore them is to remove and recreate the legend that contained them by setting the HasLegend property for the chart to False and then back to True...
chtChart.HasLegend = False
chtChart.HasLegend = True
(the font in the new legend may need adusting)
It has been a very long time since I have created charts with VBA.
My Excel help file says to change the values used by a Chart Series you have to specify a range or provide an array of values (not both)
So this seems to work...

I have a question about japan new depriciation engine using non-japanese chart of deprication

Hi, all
I have a question about link between new depriciation engine and chart of depriciation.
My client want to use US chart of depriciation as standard chart of depriciation becuase it has already standard setting like IAS deprication keys.
it means I have to create Japanese chart of depriciation by copying from US chart of depriciation(non-japanese sample(0JP))
I have a little doubt about it. In my previous project, I copyed chart of depriciation by copy from Japan sample Chart of depriciation(0JP) stored in SAP.
Is it possible to copy from non-japan sample charg of depriciation to using Japanese new depriciation engine? I worried some errors will occrues if I do not use sample chart of depriciation(0JP) .
If I need to use sample Japanese chart of depriciation, please give me the idea why I need to use Japanese sample chart of depriciation. I want to know the examples of non-Japanese asset accouting consultants who have working experience in the area.

Thank you for your support.
My client use one COA to all over the world. And not only Japan, other country aslo use the COD which is copied from that of US. Basic reporting line is for USGAP. I will customize 2 depriciation ares, one for US GAP and another is JGAP. No need to create TAX realted customize. It means it enought only adding Japanese new depriciation keys to Current US COD. No need to add more Japanese local requirements.
In this case, I want to know follwoing point.
I know COD controll depriciation keys, but I want to know more detail about COD, what kinds of controls COD do. What is Japanese local requirements. Why better to use COPY of JP COD.

Source for Same GL Account(SKA1) used in multiple Chart Of Accounts(T004)

If Same GL Account is used in multiple Chart Of Accounts. Does SAP Source it from a single GL Account source or it creates a completely new records for the GL Accounts in all the Chart Of Accounts independently. Lets take for an example Accounts Receivable GL Account if this is used for many Chart Of Accounts does the GL Account for Accounts Receivable has the master record and all the Chart Of Accounts use the same GL Account master record for that Accounts Receivable Account.

1) So Inorder to find one GLAccount I need to know the Chart Of Accounts of that GL account I am looking for as same GL Account number with same name can exist in different Chart Of Accounts.
2) You referrred GL Code. Is that synonym for GL Account Number.
   I am little stuck with the name
   what is the difference between General Ledger(Is that nothing but a Chart Of Accounts) and General Ledger Account.
   GL Account in SKA1 as it seems like "GL Account for Chart Of Accounts" instead of "GL Account" as every GL Account   has to be accompanied by Chart Of Accounts.
Example: If I say "Accounts Receivable " as GL Account I dont know whether that is in Chart Of Accounts1 or Chart Of Accounts2

Using dates in charts

Hi,
I want to know how I could make dates quantitative in charts.
What I mean is this: I want to plot date (e.g. 09/12/09) v.s. activity (in hours).
But when I plot a graph, it shows the dates (in the x-axis) with the SAME gap length. E.g. the same gap length between dates that are 1 day apart, and those that are 20 days apart. I want the dates also to be QUANTITATIVE.
I hope it makes sense, please help.

I'm sorry that I don't have Numbers 08 at my present location to check this out throughly. I do recall though that an easy workaround is to set a base day and assign days since the base to the X-axis, rather than true dates. Then you can use the Scatter Chart and get proper spacing. All the other chart types are Category Charts which plot each piece of data with equal spacing. In Numbers 09 we can use true dates for the X-axis in a Scatter Chart, but I don't think that was the case in Numbers 08.

I need to display it on the screen by using stacked column chart. I mean XAxis as "STAGE" YAxis as "TOTAL PCS" and "OPERATION" as series. I used DataBIndCrossTable as
chProd.DataBindCrossTable(dtView, "OPERATION", "STAGE", "TOTAL PCS", "Label=TOTAL PCS");
But, the results in the chart is displaying it in the first STAGE it self. I mean xaxis value 1 has all the yaxis value.
Can anyone please help me to get the results as first image?

Use of makit chart for multiple values against month

Hi all,
here is my test data:

In this consumption is for present year and consumption 1 is for previous year.
I want to implement both the values against the month using makit column charts:

Hi All,
I was able to do the same with the help of series property in makit charts.
series : new sap.makit.Series({ column : "year" }),
In our test data we need to create the data's based on this value, for example if we are plotting consumption against month then the year should be a differentiating quantity within the test data.
So that the graph will iterate for that and plot two values for the same month.

You can use JFreeChart which is a free and good tool to generate graphs in Java. It has samples and other guides which you can use to get started...

Using Flex 3D Charts in Flex Builder 3

has anyone successfully used the Flex 3D Charts library in FlexBuilder 3?

and having trawled back there was some chatter about the library back in 2007, but few people seemed to have got it to work.
I can draw a blank chart area (ie carefully not adding a data series to the chart) but as soon as a series is added I get an error starting
Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
at com.adobe.flex.extras.charts.series::Column3DSeries/describeData()[C:\perforce\depot\flex \components\FlexComponents\com\adobe\flex\extras\charts\series\Column3DSeries.as:870]
with a whole load of stack trace following on. This happens whether I use MXML or create at runtime in an AS class.
I notice that the library only claims compatribility with FB 2.0 but had hoped there would be backwards compatibility.

Report using Alternate/Country Chart of Accounts

How can I write a report (in report painter/report writer) using accounts from an alternate/country chart of accounts? I cannot see "Chart of Accounts" as a selection characteristics in the report libray.

Hi,
when working with Report Painter / Report Writer, the first question is which is the summary table of the library you want to create your report in?
If this is an FI-SL summary table (something beginning usually with ZZ ending with T), then most probably you only have a chance if that field (i.e, the alternative account number) is one of the characteristics in your ZZ*T summary table. If it is not, you have to write a custom ABAP report based on the summary table, and read the alternative account from the master record. The same is the case if your library is based on table GLT0 (GL balances table in the "classic" GL - NOT newGL).

How to use my own chart of accounts

Good afternoon,
I installed EBS 11i on WinXP a month ago for learning purpose
and never learned it before, so I am very new.
I got problem using my chart of account to create new journal.
That I did :
1. using VIS data, login as user operations
setup flexfields key : segment (Company, Division, Account), values, chart of accounts
setup calendars,periods,books
example : Set of Books = BOOK1
Chart of Accounts = COA1
2. using VIS data, login as user SYSDAMIN
setup new user = USER1 assign rolle : general ledger super user
Then Login as USER1, tied to create new journal,
than the windows show up automatically the account,
It was chart of account with seqment company,department, account, sub-account, product.
Actually that I wanted was to create journal using my chart of accounts with segment company, division and account.
I thing it's about the responsible "general ledger super user" that I assign to USER1,
my question how to make autorized so USER1 can used BOOK1 or my Chart of Account COA1,
Is it something to do with responsible ?
if Yes, what is the step / procedure to define responsible ? should we define data group or ...???

Error when using Project Gantt Chart in Production Weblogic Server 10.3.5

I have an application utilizing <dvt:projectGantt> Project Gantt Chart. I have tested it in intergrated weblogic server and it is working correctly but when I deploy it in Production Weblogic server, error occurred with NullPointerException on the ViewObjImpl -- class not found exception. I have look into each library used in the ADF runtime on the production server, all the library used are installed and deploy to each server target.

The WLS server is the same for (integrated WLS and Production) . For JRF template I'm sure it is the same. I have deploy another application that used BC, and it work fine in production.

Possible to use formulas in chart series data?

Hello, I need to build chart series from manual values. This is possible but Excel accepts only raw values. When I try to use a calculated value, excel rejects the series format.
=SERIES("Supply";(Sheet1!$A$97;Sheet1!$H$47);(Sheet3!$B$10;Sheet3!$B$10);4)
is accepted. I need to adjust it to something like
=SERIES("Supply";(DATEVALUE("31.12.2014");MAX(Sheet1!A:A;Sheet1!H:H));(Sheet3!$B$10/365;Sheet3!$B$10/365);4)
this however doesn't fit. Does Excel provide a format for inline evaluating without need to use auxiliary cells?

It is not possible to evaluate formulas within a Series formula. You can use Names to calculate individual values from formulas, return an array of values or use a dynamic Name to return an array of cells and use Names in Series formulas.
However for your purposes I don't think even use of Names would help; from your first example your formulas return multiple cell areas (albeit only one cell in each area) and your second example aims to return an array with each formulas calculating each
element, you'd need a Name of Names which I don't think would work.
Even if you could do it the way you want I think it would be a bad approach. Why not make use of cells, there's no shortage of them and it would make things much easier for maintenance.
