USing XI as repository for Seeburger BICMAPPER

We are using XI in combination with the Seeburger adaptors
I want to store the BICMAPPER Meta-Data definitions into the XI repository. So far I could not find the exact procedure to configure this.
Anybody an Idee?

Hi Raf,
it's not possible to store the Meta-Data (mappings from the BIC Mapper) into the XI respository.
All standard mappings which are delivered by SEEBURGER AG are stored in the maaping_sys.sda. Don't change them.
Own (user specific) mappings have to be stored into the mapping_usr.sda.
How to create this SDA is written in the user manual of the SEEBURGER Mapping Designer.

We are building an ADF based application (with application tables and all) wherein for a few use cases there is a need to store one or more documents along with the application record. One of the use cases is that for each applicant record their educational transcripts should be captured
Though we could build an elaborate attachments functionality, I think it would be more scalable if we did this through OCS.
Are there any tutorials / blog posts which describe how we can call UCM services (?) to upload and view content. Also whether they generate any unique document ids that we can store as reference in our application tables.

Regarding RIDC and CIS integrations you can check this: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/doc.1111/e16819/toc.htm and this: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/doc.1111/e10608/toc.htm
It's also possible to execute directly UCM web service from your application but for version 11g this is somewhat tricky because of the deployment of UCM on Oracle WebLogic. If you decide to use this method, please write again and I'll share our experience.

It depends on what you mean by "large volumes".
I use webdav scripts to create/update my files every night and it works fine. But it's rather slow.
Questions are :
- is it a one-time transfer to initiate Portal, and a regular one ?
- how large are your files ?

How to use OUD as LDAP for single db user repository?

I have been assigned a project to add all the database users to OUD as a single repository for all our database users. This would be similar to using Active Directory. Could someone explain or point me in the right direction on how to add users and password (to include password policy) to OUD and then map them to global database schemas and/or roles? I am a DBA and not familiar with OUD, but followed the instructions and got OUD up and running and have registered the databases with it.
Part 2 of my question is after registering the database with OUD, this database is a 2 node RAC and it only registered the database and not the associated instances and/or services. How do you add those (instances and services) into OUD?

This is typically the EUS use case where OUD is used to store Enterprise Users and Roles + the associated mappings.

I guess you configured DB user location in the OUD directory when you configured EUS. See Integrating Oracle Unified Directory with Oracle Enterprise User Security - 11g Release 2 (11.1.2)
You can create users in LDAP using various means e.g.
ldapmodify (Adding, Modifying, and Deleting Directory Data - Oracle Fusion Middleware Administration Guide for Oracle Unified Direct…). Any user objectclass, including inetorgperson would fit

Regarding question #2, RAC instances are not individually registsred in EUS, the global RAC DB name only need to be registered.

Can I use the same Oracle Repository for the new FDM App

Hi All,
I have to uninstall FDM and install and re-configure FDM again and then restore FDM Apps present previously.
For this, Can I resue the same Oracle Repository for restoring the FDM app on newly installed instance.
As far as I know, I need to take the backup of that repository and then drop the Repository and create again and use it for new application
Please suggest, are there any other ways to do this/..

You can reuse the repository. You will need to <Add Application> instead of <New Application>

The key purpose of SAP "enabling" the facility of multiple main tables in a repository is to primarily "manage" those master data objects that are related to each other. Typical examples will be a) Customer - Material, b) Supplier - Material, etc.
While, it is pretty easy to add multiple main tables in a repository, it is also important to understand the purpose of doing so based on the business requirements.
Besides, you got to be aware that in case you are "fixing" any issues with one main table (master data object) for which you have to unload the repository, the users will not be able to use the repository that has a main table defined for other master data object. Hence, there are pros and cons of using this capability of multiple main tables.
So, it is really important to understand the "W's" - What, Why, When, Where, Who of Data modeling before actually working on the "H" - How to in the SAP MDM tool.

Renewing public key certificate used for Seeburger AS2

My general question is when a public key certificate, used for Seeburger AS2 payload decryption and digital signatures, needs to be renewed, how carefully do the certificate renewal steps need to be coordinated for a seamless transition? More specifically...
1. Once we import the CSR response from the CA, will the public key currently used by our partner become invalid, or will it continue to work until its expiration date?
2. Will our partner be able to validate our signature after the new CSR has been imported, but prior to them applying the new public key certificate in their system?
3. Or can we renew the certificate, import the CSR request, provide our partner with the renewed certificate, and let them apply the certificate at their own volition, provided they do it prior to the original certificate expiration?

In my experience, the renewal/replacement of AS2 certificates for encryption/decryption & signing/authentication requires coordinated effort on both sides.
This is because AS2 uses asymmetrical encryption, so both parties need to use the same pair of certificates at the same time, i.e. you encrypt on your private key, and partner decrypt on the public key matching your private key. If the keys used do not belong to the same pair, then decryption will not work.
I'm not sure what AS2 software your partner uses and if it has the feature of automatic rollover of certificate, but PI/Seeburger does not. The approach in PI/Seeburger can either be one of the following:-
i) import new cert replacing original cert of the same name
ii) import new cert into new name, manually update sender/receiver agreements
Due to the manual nature of the tasks, normally it requires coordinated effort during a cutover window.

I am wondering if I can use Oracle Repository for Source Management for third party development tools, e.g. Powerbuilder.

DeltaV has been ratified as an Internet Draft and has an RFC number. The deltaV work is progressing in the SCM team, but I'm afraid I don't have any dates or even know for certain if or when this will be made available.
There is still no support for SCC either within JDeveloper or OSCM (although we're considering adding support for it now in JDeveloper on Windows to facilitate visual source safe integration).
If you're trying to integrate OSCM into an IDE, it may be worth finding out if the IDE you're using supports running external commands. If so, you should be able to invoke the OSCM command line tool as a basic level of integration.

We have the same issue. Brian (or someone from Oracle), could you check that this is still the case and also see what progress there's been on the DeltaV implementation. For example, is it scheduled for a specific release.
We're still on 4.1.1, so I'm not sure what's in the 9i release (and I don't see much documentation on OTN about it).

Creating File System Repository for a remote system

Hi Experts,
My requirement is that I need to create a KM repository in EP from where I need to upload documents into the BW system. Is File System Repository the right type of repository which I need to create for this purpose?
If yes, then in what format do I have to specify the value of the Root Directory property of the repository? I have a folder /data/docs created in the BW system within which I want to upload documents using this repository. But since this folder is located on the BW system which is a remote system for EP, I am not sure how I have to enter the path to this folder.
Can anyone give me any hints on this?

Can you please help us understand the reason why the child.runstatustimertask.run() is called in the case where we get the failure. Because upon noticing the difference in the steps of execution I see that this method is called and after that the failure is occuring.
Also, few other findings are that :
1. The error occurs from both the nodes adaptive job servers randomly.
2. The IFRS and OFRS of one of the node is not being used at all for any file transfers (though the configurations are exactly same).
Please advise and help us get rid of the said error.

Handling EDIFACT Files in File adapter without going for Seeburger adapters

Is it possible to convert the EDIFACT files into XML using File content conversion?
We got some requirement where we need to exchange EDIFACT files like DESADV and ORDERS with our partner. I know we can handle these EDI formats using Seeburger adapters like BIC,AS2.
I'm just wondering is it possible to handle these files using FCC in File adapter or Is it recommended to go for Seeburger?

I am getting error in using the date repository variable in Filter expression. I am using the below formula
filter( Fact.calls USING "Dim Time"."Fiscal Month End Date" = VALUEOF("month_start") )
I am getting below error
Formula syntax is invalid.
[nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 43113] Message returned from OBIS. [nQSError: 22024] A comparison is being carried out between non-compatible types. (HY000)
SQL Issued: SELECT filter( fact.Calls using "Dim Time"."Fiscal Month End Date" =VALUEOF("month_start")) FROM "Call Data"
Then i tryed the below format i am getting still the error

It is highly recommended to use the JDBC Driver for SQL Server 2005, even if you are using SQL Server 2000. In ODI's pre-populated lists, it is not there - you will have to (1) get the driver yourself, downloadable from the Microsoft site. (get the driver v1.2, not the 2.0, and use a JRE v1.5, 1.5 or 1.6. The 2.0 driver from Microsoft requires the JRE 1.6)
(2) use the
Driver: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver
and the URL: jdbc:sqlserver://<myserver>:<myport, default 1433>;database=<mydb>;selectMethod=cursor
these are not automatic, you will need to type them in.
The database must be configured for connections from tcpip.
