Using Yoga keyboard with monitor

How can I fold the screen over, like you would do to use the machine as a tablet, but place it screen down to use the keyboard on the desk with a 27" monitor? Right now the keyboard deactivates when I fold the screen all the way over.

The screen res is QHD but the screen is ONLY 13" so on the ultrabook you wont be able to read it well when 2 screens are side by side.
If you plan to put 2 screens side by side on external monitor/TV, it will depend on the resolution of your monitor/TV as to how much you can see.
I dont think this is the right choice unless you travel a lot, write while travelling, watch movies, listen to songs etc. casual stuff.
If you really want a ultrabook, you cannot go wrong with this, its beautiful, artistic and powerful enough for your daily tasks. The keyboard is great IMO but it has less feedback since the device is so thin, so that is a personal preference.
I will get back to you again in the evening.
(Also, Surface is an option for you with similar price, I dont like it coz the keyboard costs extra and is just a lousy one. Personally it has ugly looks)

I have a G5 PPC Dual 20" Mac Displays - I want to incorporate a Mac Mini and still use my keyboard and Monitors and Switch back and forth. How do I do this?

    The Hatter,
I am a novice at Mac so I read all I can.  From what I understand the NEC monitors I bought require Display Port for their maximum performance.  The GTX 680 only has DVI outputs.  Difference from what I understand is larger bandwidth with the DP.
You said I have the 4000 for CUDA.  I am not all that familiar with CUDA and when I do read about it I do not understand it.
A concern I have is, that if I connect the 2 high end NEC monitors via the 5770, using it's 2 Display Ports I would have nothing connected to the 4000.  Is the 4000 doing anything with nothing connected?  I read where in a PC system the 2 cards would interact but in a Mac system they do not.
Bottom line, as I see it, the 4000 will not be useful at all to me, since I want a dual monitor set-up.
So far the 5870 seems the best choice, higher band width than the 5770, and it has 2 Display Ports to optimize the NEC monitors.
I'm not sure how fine I am splitting hairs, nor do I know how important those hairs are.  I am just trying to set up a really fast reliable system that will mainly be used for CS6 and LR4.  Those NEC monitors are supposed to be top notch.

  • Trouble using USB keyboard with GarageBand

I have a Yamaha DGX-305 keyboard with a USB out. I want to record the real instrument using GarageBand, rather than using MIDI input. Is this possible? GarageBand isn't recognizing the keyboard when I simply plug it in. I've downloaded what looks to be the appropriate driver form the Yamaha site. It sounds like some keyboards are set up for plug-and-play. Is there a way I can get this to work where GarageBand records the real instrument via USB? Thanks.

I've downloaded what looks to be the appropriate driver form the Yamaha site.
But maybe it's not the right one. Is it this one?
When you go to GB's Audio/Midi prefs, does it detect 0 midi devices or 1?

  • Using Apple keyboard with Windows (bootcamp)

Does anyone have a cheat sheet for using a wired Apple keyboard with Windows 7 (the bootcamp setup)? I like to use keyboard shortcuts, both in OS X and in Windows. When I switch to my Windows partition, I haven't figured out the key combinations to use on the Apple keyboard.
UPDATE: Never mind. I found it here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5636?viewlocale=en_US

  • Using MAC Keyboard with Vista

I am using a dual OS, Mac & Vista. The Mac USB keyboard works occasionally with Vista. It may work for a few minutes then stop completely. I loaded the Bootcamp drivers with Vista as instructed. Is there and updated driver that will allow me to use the Mac Keyboard with Vista? Vista has no answers.

Just to update anyone interested, I installed Vista and MCE separately without using BootCamp. Just like a regular PC. I did not know it was possible I found it by accidentally. After which I installed the drivers and am currently using the Mini as an HTPC. I don't have osx installed on it. everything works perfectly. no problems at all. I think BootCamp creates more problems.

  • Using Yamaha Keyboard with GarageBand

Tried my Yamaha keyboard with GarageBand for the first time. To my amazement, it worked. However:
Cant' seem to get the volume up (on the Yamaha Keyboard). Checked all the volume settings, including the iMac's System Preferences, GarageBand volume settings but it's still relatively "soft."
I'm using a USB 2.0 15-ft. cable. Could the length of the cable have anything to do with this. Would a shorter USB 2.0 cable.........say 4-ft. ...... make a difference?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions

don't think I have some of the features to control
sound you suggest. (GB's Track Fader? Master Volume
    Fader? "Generator" settings. "Pencil" icon.)
You have all these things. Each track has a fader (volume control), and at the bottom right of the window is the Master Fader (volume Control). Select a track and open Track Info ("i"nfo) icon), click details, and the pencil icon to the right of the Generator PopUp menu.
preferences, it does not show that USB port as a line
    in......
Because it is NOT a line in. MIDI ≠ Audio.
just internal mic and audio line in
    As it should be.
I don't understand why, when going to the audio
settings........both on Mac audio preferences and
GarageBand..........it doesn't show that USB as an
    audio line in.
    Because MIDI ≠ Audio
Also tried with Sound Studio...........a music
recording application that came with my iMac when I
purchased it a couple of years ago. It has worked
with the Mac's audio line in and with the internal
mic.........but doesn't pick up anything from the
    keyboard via USB cable in.
Because there is no Audio to pick up. MIDI ≠ Audio.
Could the length of my USB cable have anything to do
with this? I am using a 15-ft. USB 2.0 cable.
    No.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output andWi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • How do you use wirelless keyboard with emoji?

Just downloaded emoji on ipad. Have a wireless keypad! how do you use it?

    I see this:
Connecting a Music Keyboard to Your Computer
If you play a keyboard instrument, you can connect a MIDI-compatible music keyboard
to your computer to play and record Software Instruments.
To connect a music keyboard to play Software Instruments:
If the keyboard is a USB MIDI keyboard, connect the USB cable to the keyboard and
    to your computer.
If the keyboard is a standard MIDI keyboard, connect the keyboard to a MIDI
interface using standard MIDI cables, and connect the interface to your computer.
Be sure to follow the instructions that came with the keyboard, which may include
installing the correct driver on your computer.
This doesn't tell me what I need to do though. I'm sorry if I sound like a moron, but I can't figure this out haha. I've got everything plugged in and turned on. What is the next step...and the step after that....to make it so that when I play my keyboard, it shows up on Garageband and I'm able to record...

  • Using eMac keyboard with iMac help needed.

I have an iMac from around 2009, at the weekend the keyboard stopped working and until I can afford a replacement a friend has given me an old eMac keyboard he had spare to use in the meantime (which could be a while).
Just this morning I've realised that it doesn't have some of the function keys that the iMac keyboard has. The one I'm missing the most is the F3 key that shows me all the windows I have open at once. Something I find invaluable as I use my mac for music production and helps sort through and find all the plugins I have open.
Is there a way to achieve what the iMac F3 does with a combination of keys on the eMac keyboard?
    Thanks
    Andy.

With older Mac keyboards, try using the Command key with the F keys to see which F keys do what function.

  • Using wireless keyboard with Apple TV

So why don't they make things easy and somehow add a firmware upgrade that allows you to use your wireless keyboard when making searches on the Apple TV. Every new owner of an iMac has one! This would be a great improvement over the hunt and pick that the remote gives you. Even Sony's playstation 3 has a remote keypad available as an option.

as others have said.. if you have an iPod Touch, iPad, iPhone you can use the remote app to type text fort the appleTV in a tiny package... and navigate your appleTV (don't have to use the remote at all) and surf the net and check email, twitter etc, etc without annoying everyone else in the house that just wants to watch the movie or TV show... and if you want to share something with someone on the big screen you can use airplay to transfer the video to the big screen.. next iOS update adds API for developers of 3rd party apps to add the ability to show video or audio on the big screen.. this direction seems to make WAY more sense to me than the google direction that seems to serve to mainly annoy your family..

  • Key swap problem using Microsoft keyboard with my Mac

The keyboard used with my TiBook is an old (circa 1997) ergonomic "Natural Keyboard" made by Microsoft. I'd like to fix the problem of having the "Command" key function swapped with the "Alt" key. Downloading and installing the latest Microsoft keyboard driver for Mac (for OSX 1 thru 4) didn't fix the problem (even though I checked the box to swap the "Command" key (i.e., the Windows key) and ALT key. Is my keyboard just too old?
    thanks
