Using youtube on ipod touch/
every time i open you tube it says "you must first connect to itunes with an internet connection to enable youtube" and i have connected to itunes alot already but youtube still wont work?
- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

If not under warranty Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

I plan to loan my iPod Touch to a friend here in the USA for one month to use on his trip to Europe. How can I keep my iTunes content and my account private, but enable him to create his own iTunes account to use on my iPod Touch? No mention of the Touch, it works differently from other iPods and has no "disk mode" as such.
I think it can be used as a storage device by using a 3rd party App, search the the App Store for such items.
Photos transferred to your Touch via iTunes will be of severely compromised quality i.e 640x480 pixel resolution and file size around 600-700 kb. The computer that I originally used with my ipod touch is dead, so I am now synching with another computer. I had to restore the software of the ipod, I am able to drop and drag my tunes back to the ipod but not my purchased apps. I have no problem doing this with other ipods that I have synced and backed up to this computer.

You can plug the iPod into the same iTunes library as your iPod Touch and sync whatever content you like to it. There is no limilt to the number of iPads, iPhones, or iPods you can sync with one iTunes library, account, or computer. How you sync one device will not affect the syncing preferences of the other.

Just turning off Cloud will not prevent him from turning it back on.
Rignt now, if he uses the App store, iTunes thinks it's talking to me.First, turn off iMessage, FaceTime & delete the iCloud account, while your sim is still in the phone. Then: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings. Give it to your grandson & he gat then set it up as he wants.
Important your turn iMessage & FaceTime off to disassociate the phone from your Apple ID. Apple "claims" to have fixed this with iOS 6.0, but until I can absolutely confirm such, I still recommend you turn all of that stuff off first. -
Using headset with ipod touch and Skype
Trying to use headset with jack adapter on ipod touch using skype. Audio out is fine but mic doesn't seem to work. Will this work, or will I have to switch to the Apple earbuds with mic?
I have successfully tested Skype using a $20 pair of GE ear buds with microphone. It used the correct iPod Touch earphone/microphone jack.
I've also used this with voice recorder software, and so has my wife. -

I have an original iphone I was using like an ipod touch for wifi and apps etc... not connected to at&t. After I updated to 3.0 it is prompting me to activate phone with at&t. I don't want to sign up for phone service with AT & T i just want to use my iphone on wifi, for music and apps? Can I revert back to 2.0? The answer is yes to all questions.
You need to leave the no longer activated SIM card inserted in the 3G - the SIM card that was used with the 3G when it was activated in order to install a firmware update on the iPhone, or restore the iPhone with iTunes if needed or wanted.
As it is possible to sync more than one iPod with the same iTunes library and iTunes account on the same computer with each iPod able to have its own sync preferences, the same applies to the iPhone.
Under the Applications tab for the iPhone sync preferences for each iPhone, choose Selected Applications. Select the applications in the window below that you want installed. Deselecting an application in the window below followed by a sync will remove the deselected application from the iPhone. -
