Using zen micro out of coun

hi,
i'm going to asia on a trip. i was hoping that someone could tell me if it's okay for my Zen Micro to be plugged into the 220-240 voltage system if I have a wall-plug converter? (I bought it in North America).

Are you referring to the original power adaptor that was bundled with the Zen Micro player? If that's the one you're referring to then yes it's fine. The adaptor should have indication like 00V to 240 V 50/60HZ on it. This indicate that it's a 'uni'versal adaptor', and it can be used overseas as well but you will need to get a pin coverter to suit those area you're using at.

Hello everyone. Does anyone know if you can use the Creative Zen Micro as a PC Microphone? If only there was an option to play back as you speak, then I could plug it directly into my microphone socket on my Creative X-Fi.

Anw, regarding to your question, i think it's not possible. Since the microphone in the zen can only be used to record. nevertheless, it's still no harm trying. However, just to inform you, voice rec drains battery life fast.

Using Zen Micro(Photo) with plain Explo

Is there a possibility to copy MP3 files simply by drag-and-drop with the Windows Explorer to the Zen Micro(Photo) so that the files are treated as MP3 and NOT as simple data files? Technically it is quiet simple to do this by using the hard disk of the Zen as an extra hard disk in Windows. Even the cheapest USB-stick based MP3-player can do this. Why not a Zen (or the iPod competition)?
I refuse to use any specific software to copy my self ripped MP3-files because I know that that software (Creative, iTunes, even Windows Media Player and other) changes things during the file transfer and I don't want any change in the MP3 files, not even a single bit!
I want to buy a Zen Micro Photo (8 GB, color screen), but I refuse to do it as long as it is impossible to crag-and-drop my MP3 files simply thru the Windows Explorer.

Yeah that's what i always did. I just drag and drop MP3 files directly into my player without using any software whatsoever.

Using Zen Micro on a linux b

I'm getting my Zen Micro back from repairs today, after a very long wait, Last I had it i used windows XP, but now I have changed to Kubuntu Linux. Is it possible to mount the Zen into a linux box to transfer music to it in a decent way?

Wow such a strong statement for no purpose.
I use linux too and have a zen touch. THESE FORUMS would be EXACTLY where I would ask the broad question: "Can I use Linux with my Creative Labs MP3 player?" I would not necessarily expect a direct answer, but at least redirection. Not a smart-alek answer with commands to delete my file system.

Using Zen Micro and Zen Sleek Photo software on one compu

I have had a Zen Micro for a while. No problems using it. I just bought a Zen Sleek Photo. I am going to let my daughter use the Micro and I will be using the Sleek Photo but haven't set it up yet. Can I use the software that I loaded for the Zen Micro for the Zen Sleek Photo to load music and recharge the battery? I checked on the Zen Micro- system information it is version 2..02. But I am assuming the Zen Micro software will not work on the Sleek Photo. I have only one computer and want to be able to use both MP3 players. So do I have to delete the Micro software before loading the Sleek photo software? Will the Sleek photo software work with the Micro to load music into the Micro and let me recharge the battery? I have windows XP and windows media player 0.

The Zen Micro Photo uses MTP for accessing the unit. If it is detected in WMP0 properly, then that is all you REALLY need. You may find the Micro Photo Media Explorer software usefull if you intend to use the contacts / tasks items, but that is the only program I would say is "needed" to get full function.

Help: Problem using Zen Micro with Yahoo Unlimited Music Serv

I get a "Error reading device contents: The Data is Invalid" message when I try to synchronize my Zen Micro with the Yahoo music engine. When I first connect my Zen via usb, the Yahoo engine recognizes the Zen Micro but it is unable to read the contents of the Zen prior to my synchronizing. After trying to read my Zen for a while, I get the pop up message described above. I am using version 2..02 zen firmware and version .0..4 of the Yahoo engine.
Has anyone experienced this problem before? Does the Zen Micro actually work with the Yahoo service?

I am trying to buy a Zen Micro for my daughter here in Dallas Texas and I am finding that nobody seems to know what I am talking about...are they not out yet?

Charge the Zen Micro in another coun

I know France and the US don't have the same electricity rate or whatever... and France and England don't have the same kind of plugs... Can I still charge my Micro Zen abroad in those countries if I have nothing but a plug adapter? Will it just take longer for it to charge?

Hmmm are Creative trying to capitalise on those poor souls that don't realise their transformer works pretty much everywhere anyway with a US$5 socket adapter? Although I guess it could be useful for those with the new stripped down versions sans mains adapter...

Zen Micro not recognised using zen micro media explo

Hi?get the error "device not connected" when I use the above facility,even though IT IS plugged in with the USB cable?Player is recognised in Windows Media Player. Any ideas ??Thanks??

The problem will be the same I would think because the issue is that the player is an older one, so WMP does not recognise it. Unless they change it in te full version, which is probably only a slim chance, you will still need to download the hotfix and the other update.
But if i were you i wait for the full version anyway, the Beta 2 is better but still far from perfect...

Cant get zen micro out of locked m

this is really anoying,after putting it in locked mode i cant get it out of it.
touch pad wont react.
even after taking out battery it starts up in locked mode!!!!!
any clues are welcome!!!!

Sounds like a mechanical malfuntion in the power/lock button. Does it feel loose or any different than it did before it was stuck in lock mode? I'd contact Creative support to get your player fixed.

Cant use Napster to go and zen micro windows explor

If i want to use my napster to go and have to use firmware --02, but if I want to use zen micro win explorer it wont recog. my device so I have to upgrade to firmware -2-05 erasing all my dl songs from napster....what i want to do is use my zen micro to upload cd's I own and use nap to go, not one or the other.....btw I woke up today and my micro is dead no matter what I try....so let me figure that out now.....should I take this back? my battery life is only like 6hrs!!!....anyway i want to like this so if anyone can help me out?

i see a lot of threads about charging the battery.
i sell high end digital cameras, have for 6 years now. i'm not talking the stuff you find at fry's but the really high end stuff.
this stuff also uses proprietary lithium ion batteries (actually the only thing proprietary is the connectors, all cells come from the same manufacturers)
the key to lithium ion batteries is:
) let it charge overnight the first time you charge it
2) it takes about 3 full charges and full drains to get the proper life out of it
3) they dont have memory, ever. i have several abused lithium ion camera batteries that can attest to this
4) replace after 8 months without fail
my point is, don't stress over it. my micro only got about 7 hours of continous playback with eq on and it just sitting there, and not much more with eq off. the player's life on a single charge and constant crashing when switching off are the only reasons why i returned it on sunday for an ipod mini.

Yes, I saw that as well, but in my experience with buy.com, you never really know when your order is going to be deli'vered. I am extremely pleased--and somewhat amazed--at the speed of Amazon.com.
The last item I ordered from buy.com "supposedly" was in-stock. After waiting about a week for a shipping confirmation, I contacted them. At this point they told me the item was no longer available. I was bummed but also angry that I had to enquire in order to be notified. Had they planned to notify me? Then, the next evening, there is the item I ordered sitting outside my door, not, by the way, in a regular shipping box, but in the original packaging--for anyone going by to see. When I am expecting a deli'very, I really appreciate being able to track it so I can post a note for the deli'very person to leave the package somewhere other than my front doorstep. That last buy.com experience really soured me on them. = (

Zen Micro - Lost Installation CD: Please H

Hi All,?I have a Zen Micro from 2005. I recently reformatted my hard dri've and I no longer have the installation CD for the program. I saw alot of threads out there like this but I didnt see one for the Zen Micro (I know, its 2 years old). Anyway, I went to the download application page and there just seems to be alot of files to choose from. Can someone with knowledge of this subject please specifify exactly which files I need to download and install, and it what order, so that I can get back up and running normally again ? Thank you. Note: I did have WMP but installed it a/p a stuck thread. My comp now does recognize a Zen Micro?- its just looking for software for it - thanks again

^what firmware is your Zen Micro loaded with?
I use ..0 since I don't need it for subscription services or PlaysForSure.
As for software, I use Zen Micro Explorer Web Update to organize my ZM and Creative Zen and Jukebox Driver Upgrade version .30.03
I don't use Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer, I find Zen Micro Explorer easier to use.
It's been a long time since I installed my Zen Micro on this computer, but if I remember correctly you install the software first and then connect the Zen Micro.
Mine has never given me trouble, so I'm not much help at trouble-shooting them. :|
