I actually disagree, reason being that when you take into account the cameras that are build into the phones they are at most adequate, 2MP is the current theme (at least in UK I think). The option/settings/tweeks with the phone cameras is poor when you look at it, stand alone digital cams offer better features compared with phone digicams, then you have the power too, to dri've a good camera if you have one then you know required decent batteries, storage (ok you have a hard dri've so that is sorted) but take into consideration that you will always get better results with a digicam than phone cameras and you can see that would be a waste of time for the time being.
There is an old saying "Jack of all trades, Master of none" and this seemes to hold true to the phone cameras. Don't get me wrong it would be nice to have it only and only if you have all the features of the stand alone one with big resolution and so on, heck I have a Nokia 6230 and like it very much but my old 3.2MP Cannon (by all means not the best and not the newest?in the world) gives me far better/superior results than the the one on the phone even can. What would be cool to have is a port where you can hook them both up and use the Mp3 players HDD to store (I know you can on some Creative players) your snaps without having to buy or have attachments, just plug a mini USB and you are off. Technology as always moves forward and an astonishing reate and new gadgets?come out?and quality improves, battery life lengthens and so on, so we might even see this happen. Ttill the time where they are on par with most consumer digicams?I will be?witholding in buying one.Message Edited by RobertM on 03-0-20062:57 PM

  • Please, please bring out a Zen Vision:M with integrated digital camera!

Is there some chance to contact the development division of creative and ask for a Zen Vision:M with integrated digital camera? there are mobiles out there with 0 Megapixel cameras and they don?t have a 30 GB disk space.
There would be nothing better then have this nice Vision:M mp3 player with an integrated camera..
one additional use for Vision:M besides using for listining to mp3 is to keep and carry around photos with it anyways.. so why don?t they bring it our with camera? wouldn?t need to take photos with another devise, transfer these photos to the pc/mac and then transfer them back on Vision:M.... just carrying aroung one devise would be so much better... but I guess that is also some marketing stuff... first sell this generation of Vision:M, and then wait some time and come out with the new generation of players, with finally integrated camera... or maybe just wait, until ipod brings them out first... anyways, I really don?t see a technical problem for this...
Olympus m:robe 500 put a mp3 camera on the market a couple of years ago, though it can't really compete with Vision:M on the mp3 player part.
    any comments from anyone?

  • Use of Zen Vision M with in car media player functionali

I have an Alfa Romeo car which has the "Blue & me" option. This supports media players syncronised via Windows Media player to play music back via the in car entertainment system (plugged in via a USB port in the car).
I have successfully used an Apple ipod(syncronised with MP3 files) and a NOMAD MUVO player but cannot get my new Zen Vision M to be recognised by the system in the car. Does anyone have experience of this and any possible soltuions?
    Many thanks
    Paul

I have just bought an Alfa with Blue & Me media player and would like to know how to get around the problem of my Zen not being recognised by the system. I have used a friends ipod?and it worked so I know that the actual car system works. I have contacted Alfa but they have just turned it around and asked me to contact Creative for a solution, (and let them know the outcome!!)? which I have done and are still awaiting a reply. I would be grateful if anybody has come up with a solution to this problem if they could let me know. Hoping for an answer . GW

  • Zen Vision Issues With Raphsody To

Hi all,I got my Zen Vision about 4 days ago, and everything was going great with transferring tracks from my Raphsody To Go account to my Zen player. I was able to use the Raphsody software, the Creative software that came bundled with the player, and even Windows Media Player 0. Now none of these methods works with any tracks I've downloaded with Raphsody To Go? Any idea what happened? Is there some kind of limit I've reached? Thanks for the help!?Message Edited by jamieshan on 03-25-200606:54 AM

Does the player work in other applications, with other audio files (for instance ones you have ripped from CD)? Or do you get the same error there.

  • How do you Interface Zen Vision M with Creative Media Source 5 in WIndows XP?

I am having problems getting the Zen Vision M player to interface with Creative Media Source5 in Windows XP with Service Pack 2.
It does show up in the Device Manager System as a Portable Device and shows it working correctly.
When I try to download one of the updates for Media Source 5 it will not install "player not found message"
So now how do I get it to work with the Creative Media Source? It does not show this player at all.
Just a note: I did get this player to work in Vista 64 and interface with Creative Media Source 5 but could not download Creative Explorer with Vista 64.

Well thanks again!!! I must have downloaded the wrong file think it was the 38 version. I downloaded the 36 version and it works great!!!
I think everything is working on both computers. Im glad because I bought another Vision M from someone on HardForum.
One of the two might work for a Christmas present for my wife. Now we can get rid of our old Rio Players.

  • Creative Zen Vision M with Napster to

I am becoming increasingly frustrated with my ZVM. I'm now on my 2nd device, and I cannot for the life of me get it to work with Napster to go. I have tried everything on 2 different PC's etc etc. Is there some really stupid thing I'm doing or not doing as the case maybe in order for this to work. I have read various forums and haven't come across anyone with the same problem. Seeing as I have had the same problem with 2 completely different devices, I must be doing something wrong.
    The problem:-
Whenever I dump tracks in the 'to go' box, it starts downloading, gets halfway through and says the device isn't connected.
Someone please help as I am on the brink of buying an ipod video 'desperation'.

  • Zen Vision W with Broken Screen. Do I have any chanc

Hi guys This morning, I accidentally broke the screen of my ZVW. OMG, I could not believe after that. A half of the screen on the right hand side was damaged. But the other half still works. Everything else, luckily, like music, video, FM radio still work perfect.
So, can the screen be replaced Oh god, I hope it's possible. I have been using this ZVW for only 3 months. Actually, It still works fine regarding a mp3 music player and FM radio. But the screen is really a soul of this player. I bought this just bc of the screen. Anyway, please let me know if you guys know something helpful. Tks

Unfortunately, repairing electronic devices costs a lot of money.
You could try ZenRepair.com, but the repair would be a large % of the replacement cost of a new one.

  • Zen Vision M DOESNT support MP4 (Mpe

I recently purchased a Vision M, and when I started to put MP4 files on it, it would come up with the message saying The MP4 filetype is not supported on your player. Now I've tried MP4 movies that I've downloaded, and converted myself, nothing will work. Anyone know what the problem is?

.MP4 is actually MPEG-4 Part 4, which is basically the illegitimate child of Apple Quicktime (hence its use in itunes)
The mpeg4 formats supported by the Vision (and M I'd say) are Xvid (best) Divx (Pretty much as good, but commercial).
What you want to do is convert your movies to Xvid (or get them in Xvid in the first place, as most movies are. MP4 smells bad)
You'd do that by getting Xvid (probably Koepi's binary) and then probably VirtualDub to convert to it. This isn't the place for a full instruction set, so just do a little research and find a tutorial for converting to Xvid.

  • Creative Zen have problems with AAC files

)C I have a Creative Zen 4GB. When i play AAC files (.m4a ripped with iTunes) they are played regularly, but if I switch off the Zen while playing them, when I turn on newly the device it is completely frozen and I must reset it.
Anyone can tell some on this problem? The firmware is the latest.
    Thanks.

Exactly the problem that I have with my 8GB-player! The firmware update didn't help. Does anyone have an idea?

  • There's video problems with my Zen Vision:M already (M video cable related) Please help

    Some background...
System:Windows XP with Service Pack 2.
Player: Brand new Creative Zen Vision: M with no firmware updates.
My Zen Vision:M has a problem (besides the scratch and fingerprint attracting top surface): It won't play videos on a TV screen when the M Video Cable (also from Creative) is linked to it anymore. It's only been a few hours...
I had the cable already, and got the player today. I let the player charge to /4th of a battery while I was setting up all the software. I ran the software programs just to take a peek, only changing the name of my player (to my name). I used Winamp 5.3 to put a music track on the player to test it. After that, I hooked it up to the VCR in my room through the white and yellow A/V plugs in front. It worked just fine. It to the tv a little large, but I was okay with it.
Later on today, the new AC charger I ordered came in the mail (Player came through UPS, charger through USPS). I looked at my old charger (Creative Zen Touch) and realized it would work with the plug-in part of the sync unit at the bottom. I tested it for a minute and it did. I still took it out and tried the new one. This is where, I think, something happened. I had to press the sides to get the thing in, and it was hard to come out. Everything still fit just right, and nothing seemed to be wrong. I used my old charger as I added more of my music library. Now it was on to videos. I had to convert the first two test vids (they were .wmv), but they played on my player fine. I put a bigger .wmv file onto the player to see if it had to convert it, and it did. It still played on the player. When I go to hook it to the TV with the A/V cord again, there was nothing but a black screen with the occasional diagonal scan line. The sound is still there.
Besides quirks with the navigational system, the player is still great for music and video. Still, I needed no video capability, and one of the things that made the ZVM a buy for me was watching my vids on the big screen. I'd return this for a second try, but I want to know if this is a recurring issue with you guys and if there's something I can do to fix it before a return. Did I mess with a setting? Should I get new firmware? Did I do wrong using my old charger? If any of you have an answer, or need more info on my situation, please let me know.
And BTW, does anyone know of some better software for organizing files on the ZVM? I used Winamp for my Zen Touch and the music on my ZVM, but videos are another ballpark. I can't transfer a video from one folder to another folder (assuming both folders are on the ZVM). Not to mention the music I transferred using Winamp isn't even showing up in Windows Media Player. I think I need a different program altogether.

I have got a new Creative Zen Vision W and getting the same problem....when i attach to the tv then i am able to hear the audio content and the video does not show. Are we missing something ? or is it a problem with the player. Also the software provided with the Zen converts small .vob files to .wmv when ever the size is large it gives an error 'conversion?unsucessful'.Any body facing similar problems please help.

  • How to save video to play on Creative Zen Vision M

My (PC using) friend just bought a Creative Zen Vision M (the competitor to the video iPod). It will play MPEG1, 2, and 4SP and will play MPEG's created in an older version of iMovie (I forget which, it's been a few years). For some reason, the MPEG4 version created by iMovie HD6 is not compatible with the Zen player.
Does anyone have any ideas of how to export from iMovie HD 6 in a format that can be used by the Creative Zen Vision M?
    Thanks.

    >Hi,
Sorry about your ZEN Vision:M. From what you mentioned, I don't think the data is recoverable under normal means. You probably might want to take it to a technician? or someone who is familar with electronics to see if they can remove the harddisk from the ZEN Vision:M and recover the data.

  • Zen Vision:M = iP

I just noticed, the connection for computer hookup on the Creative Zen Vision:M is the same as the iPod's hookup. I plugged a family member's iPod USB cable into my Zen Vision:M, and it had a perfect fit. This leads me to think... Would iPod sounddocks and prepherals like FM tuners or voice recorders, whatever (just examples), work with the Zen Vision:M?

I know the Zen has those built in, I was just using them as examples.
My main question was could I use my Zen Vision:M with an accessory such as an iHome or similar docking device, for what I'm looking for is something like the Travelsound (http://www.creative.com/products/pro...oduct=687&nav=), but so I can use it with my Zen Vision:M.

  • Zen Vision M and Vi

When I was using my Zen Vision M with Windows XP, I can add album artworks through Zen Media Explore by setting the view to "Album View". But now I am on Vista, the Zen Media Explore doesn't have the "Album View" option anyway so I can't add album artworks. Anyway has any ideas?

Yeah I know WMP works, but it doesn't always find the right artwork and track information. I manually tagged all of my music under iTunes and added the album arkworks myself. I just don't understand why they took the function away in Zen Media Explore for Vista.

  • Zen Vision M 6

Hi there, I'm thinking of buying an "MP3" recorder/player and am looking at the Creative Zen Vision M with the 60 gig HDD, I am currently researching a few other ones like the "usual suspects" Apple iPod, IRi'ver and Cowon iAudio. It seems to me that the players with the best sonic audio quality are the Zen and iAudio however I am looking for one important feature which may or may not exist on any of these players... I'm looking for a DJ Mixing mode so that I can program tracks to fade in-out at certain intervals. I know there are plenty of PC base programs like Sandbox and Zara Radio that do this but I'm looking for a similar facillity on a portable player so I can use it'sto play music at gigs ie a sort of auto-pilot DJ. Does anyone in Creative have an answer to this or any of the contrbuters here. If Creative were to introduce this feature then it would become the most popular player in the world amoungst us DJs...or should that be XJs nowadays.

    AAleXX,
Are you looking for something specific for the player, like an accessory? Or are you having a problem with it's

  • Windows Media Player 11 - Zen Vision:M Not Recognized Anym

I've installed WMP, which is told to be especially very well with Vision:M, and nothing recognizes my Vision:M now.
It's shown up as a Portable Device (with a new icon), with it's Name "Creative Zen Vision:M", I connect, it asks me what to do. Windows Media Player, Vision:M Explorer or firmware updater I've just downloaded doesn't see the player connected. Each time I connect, it appears to be something different on My Computer. Sometimes the device's name with ZVM icon, sometimes Zen Vision:M with portable icon. And it even thought it's a camera or scanner and put it there!
    What's going on?

Any chance of posting or PM'ing me your wmsetup.log file? So far I've seen one and that was a total install failure, so isn't the same problem you had.

Anyway, I solved the problem by uninstalling the USB ports from device manager.
