  • Group Data locked for material

    Hi,
I have an interface that failed because the "Group Data" of the material was locked.
I am aware of "Material being locked by another user". However I don't know how the group data gets locked or what group data refers to.
In most cases when I run the interface after some time, the material posts correctly. But I'd like to know what exactly locks group data and how I can check if it has been unlocked subsequently.
    Thanks.
    Urmila

    Hi,
This message comes usually when you attempt to change the material using fm calls and material header MARA is locked (that is material itself is locked) by some other user .
What you can do is to call lock fm ENQUEUE_EMMARAE
before calling your material update logic and see whether the lock is successful. If the lock is successful then you can proceed with the update logic.

  • How can I get missing contacts, notes, calendar dates and reminders that are just on my old iphone onto the iCloud for transfer to my new iPhone upgrade?

    Dear wise & wondeful people:
How can I get missing contacts, notes, calendar dates and reminders that are just on my old iphone onto the iCloud for transfer to my new iPhone upgrade? Half of my contacts, notes, ect. were on my iCloud so have happily moved to my new iPhone but the rest are completely resistant. For example, on my iCloud I have 14 missing contacts starting with the letter A alone, however they are happily viewable on my old iPhone 4S and won't budge over into the iCloud.
There are also 3 notes missing yet still acessible on my onld iPhone 4S, the list goes on.
Your help would be most appreciated. Thank you so much.

  • Period is locked for new data

    Good Morning,
    Anyone get this error before?
-4013:Period is locked for new data
       at NetPoint.SynchSBO.SBOObjects.SBOOrder.NetPointToSBOOrder(NPOrder order)
       at NetPoint.SynchSBO.SBOObjects.SBOOrder.NetPointToSBO(NPQueueObject qData)
       at NetPoint.SynchSBO.SynchObjectBase.Synch()
Haven't received it before today, of course, the day we go live.  The period we are posting to is not locked for new data and it seems to be limited to one customer only...  Any immediate thoughts?
    Thanks so much,
    Kristen

OK, I have it working for the moment, but I am very curious about this.  I went back in and selected the Install Plugin button 2 more times just to be sure, I restarted everything and they went through fine.  Could it be that the Plugin installed partially before?  It didn't seem so because other orders were flowing both ways and just certain ones were seeming to get stuck...  Then more gradually started failing until none were passing through.  This has been working seemlessly in this environment for weeks until of course go live today, so I am at a loss.  Probably just that one piece of excitement for Go Live that we were missing.  All is well.  James, thanks for responding.

  • Lock for data in data partition/data slice

    Hi
we are on SAP BI IP and we have the following scenario.
We defined a planning web tempate "WT AA0"  based using char Version with value "AA0".
User A plans data and then "locks" them using a data slice/partition.
User B  works a planning web template "WT AA1" where char Version has value "AA1" ; as soon as user B runs a planning function (based on custom class using IF_RSPLFA_SRVTYPE_IMP_EXEC) and user A opens web template "WT AA0" , user B is locked.
    Now I have two questions:
    1. is correct that data "locked" from partitions/data slice are used in lock?
    2. if use in the class the if IF_RSPLFA_SRVTYPE_IMP_EXEC_REF, and change the filter on char Version (using only AA1), can I avoid this lock??
    many thanks in advance.
    S.

    Hi Stefania,
just for clarification: data slices have nothing to do with transaction data locks.
Data slices protect records from being changed at run time. Data slices can be changed at run time, e.g. in an exit implementation. This is why data slices have no effect on transaction data locks.
Transaction data locks ensure that the set of data records described by filter of a query or planning function can only be changed by one user (concurreny locks) in one user session. The filter used at run time to set the transaction data locks will be determined at run time:
    - query: the filter of the query and restricted key figures with the 'lock relevant setting' (cf. Query Designer) will be used to compute the filter to be used to set the lock
    - planning function: the filter used in the configuration will be used to set the lock; reference data will not be used to set exclusive locks
In your example the queries use different versions in the filter, so two users using these 'their' version will not lead to a lock conflict. If a planning function needs version AA0 as reference to change data for version AA1 you have to use AA0 as reference data and only AA1 in the filter of the planning function.

  • HCM errors in phase Identify Objects for Transfer and Start Data Selection.

    Hello Colleagues ,
Background: We are using TDMS HCM PA PD Expert package to transfer all of the HCM data
We are using TDMS 4.0 SP 5. We are trying to do the Configuraition in Identify Objects for Transfer and Start Data Selection.. In this phase, we are encountering the issue of 'choose to confirm to trigger data selection'.  The only option in this activit is'confirm batch' and 'confirm online'. Even if we press the button, we are still encountering issues. What selections then or values can we use?Thank you. Kindly see screen shot
    Regards,
    Meinard

    Hello Meinard,
    There could be two issues:
First check if you have assigned the target ranges for the dialog user which you are using to select data from sender system. You need to maintain target ranges in activity 'Define target ranges for users' which you can find under activity "Configuration and Utilities in Control system".
Secondly, there could be authorizaton issues for the sender system user. Check for any authorization issue in SU53 in sender system for the user which you used to logon to sender system.
    Thanks

  • GOOP VI "set modified data" locks LabVIEW for seconds

    I use GOOP.
Sometimes the VI "set modified data" (from now on SMD) of one of my GOOP classes is locked for about 15 seconds, while CPU raises to 100%.
It happens when SMD is called from a certain VI. It does not happen every time SMD is called from this VI.
As I have understood GOOP, the VI "get data to modify" tries to access/lock the data members - which might take a while if the the data members are currently locked by another VI - but SMD only sets the data members and removes the lock, which should always be possible (at least if the data set has been locked by this VI, which - yes! - is the case).
Other VIs are running in parallell, maybe they could cause the CPU to raise to 100% but I find it strange th
at it only happens when SMD is called from this particular VI.
I think I need a better understanding for how SMD really works.
    Regards

    Hi,
Your description of how "get data to modify" (from now on called GDM) and "set modified data" works is correct and you have fully understand how it all works. The only VI that actually may wait is the "get data to modify" (happens if the data for the object is locked by something running in parallell as you describe). The GDM is however reentrant so that it really will be able to wait for seconds (specified by the timeout) and also letting other process wait as well using the GDM. The SDM is not reentrant (does not have to) and should really execute fast (set data and unlock) and never hold execution, just as you describe.
Are you absolutly sure that it is the SMD that cause the CPU to freak out? Maybe the fact that you unlock the data releases ano
ther part of your program that were "hanging on the lock" and the problem is actually in another part of the program. Do you have some exceptional large size of your data? Do you somehow elaborate with VI priorities and/or reentrant VIs. This might sometimes really cause strange situations. The situation you describe looks more like a "race" problem.
The SDM problem you describe is new to me and I have never encounted it. Would it be possible for you to attach some LV code example showing the phenomenon?

Yes, that's why I recommend one have more than TimeMachine as a backup because if certain files or folders are corrupted on the TM drive, your not logging into your migrated user account or not be able to transfer it what so ever.
Then it's a REAL PAIN and costs $99 to bit read the TM drive to get the files out, then it's mess to go through and sort all the empty placeholders from the real files as TM doesn't save duplicates in each state, just uses the previous state's copy if there are no changes.
If you create the same named user account on the new machine, and simply transfer files via a USB thumb drive and place say music contents into the Music folder, then it will work too.
Look into making clones of your boot drive, the benefit here is it's bootable, you can access the drive directly to pick and choose files, run the computer just like before etc.

A Complete Guide to Recover Your iDevice if You Forget Your Passcode
If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
         1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to update.
         2. Connect your device to your computer.
         3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
         4. Select the Summary tab.
         5. Select the Restore option.
         6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up
option (see in the image below). If you have just backed up the device, it is not
             necessary to create another.
         7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
         8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
             logo while starting up:
After a restore, the iOS device displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen. For updating
to iOS 5 or later, follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant. For earlier versions of
iOS, keep your device connected until the "Connect to iTunes" screen goes away or
              you see "iPhone is activated."
         9. The final step is to restore your device from a previous backup.
If you can not restore your device then you will need to go to recovery mode.
Placing your device into recovery mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
         1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the other end
of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
         2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the
red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake
and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake
              and Home buttons.
         3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device.
The device should turn on. Note: If you see the screen pictured below, let the device
charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then
             start with step 2 again.
         4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
         5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
         6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
    Additional Information:
Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information.

  • SR830 data storage for rs232

    Hi,
I found a LabVIEW code here which can storage data from input signal (e.g.A/I)in SR830 and transfer it by the GPIB.
I used function generator to generate a sine wave with frequency:30Hz& Vp-p:100mVolt , conencting to SR830.
Clearly ,I got a correct result when i used the code by GPIB communication interface(left graph).
Than,I tried to change the communication interface RS232 to accept the same signal, but it has mistakes(right graph).
Here is original code "data storage for GPIB"
Here is rewrite code for RS232 by myself, but what's wrong i did?
    Attachments:
    SR830 DATA STORAGE EXAMPLE.VI ‏54 KB
    scan test1.vi ‏43 KB

The SR830 expects three integer arguments (separated by commas) for the TRCA? query:
    * i = 1 or 2 specifies which buffer to download from
    * j >= 0 specifies the starting point
    * k>=1 specifies how many points to download
If you know k, you can calculate the exact number of bytes in the response. For your code, which downloads 4000 points at a time, that will be something like 60 kB (if memory serves, the response in ASCII transfer mode is 15 bytes/value). Make sure that you're not hitting any timeout or serial buffer size limits with a transfer of that size.
Edit: You have your bitrate set to 9600 baud (1200 bytes/second) and a 10 second timeout. That will read 12 kB before timing out, or 1/5th of your transfer. The 830 supports baud rates up to 19,200, which will help, but you'll also need either a longer timeout or to transfer your data in smaller chunks.
