USMM: System Measurement

Hi,
System: ECC Development
When we run the Transaction USMM to check the System measurement, the log is not displaying the Enfine details for PO, Sale Order, Contracts, WM.
Howvever, we get all the user level details like Users with SCCR key, different user types, the clients in the system, the installed components.
Its just that Engine measurements for FSCM, WM, PO, SO, Contracts are not displayed.
My question is:
Are the Engine measurements done even for Development environment or is it displayed only for Production environment? FYI, We are not yet live.

Hi,
usmm in ECC 6.0 displays all the data, the order is below. If you can't see the data, check the background jobs related to it are completed.
SAP Version info contails application release and SP levels
In System measurement: Statistics
Status of background jobs
List of clients
Measurement results by client (user details)
User with SSCR key by client
Automatically Excluded SAP Technical Users
0100 mySAP Human Resources
5000 Procurement Orders
5100 Sales Orders
5200 Service Orders
Employee/EHR Users Statistics

can anyone help me how does SAP measure ID 0157 Master Records PA employees calculated by transaction USMM.
I am interested do they measeure all active employees (by Employment 3 Active in infotype 0000) or by something else?

For measure id '0157', SAP counts the number employees having payroll result for the duration of 1 month . Please take a look at function 'CALCULATE_HR_PAYROLL_RECORDS'.

System Measurement: Measure and report license usage - System Type

After a 'system copy' to create new DEV and QAS PORTAL systems from a copy of PROD the USMM (System Measurement: Measure and report license usage) process identifies the System Type of the new systems as PROD.
This was first noticed when performing a 'License Audit'.
System Type: PROD
(Ex: URL http://<server>:<port>:50000/usmm)
Where can the 'System Type' be changed after a 'system copy'?

This is used to generate Statics, measurement of SAP systems to know the no: users, license, Installed components,List of clients,Users with SSCR key,
Goto tcode USMM and press the System Measurement button and it runs approximately 8 jobs in background.After completion of jobs in background go to USMM and get the <SID>fax.txt by executing the button Report and
<SID>stat.txt by executing the button Measurement statistics.Goto SE38 and execute the report YSLIR101 by giving variant.

Aborting a system measurement (rollback) in USMM

Good evening
It appears a partial system measurement under transaction USMM was performed (the status reads Data Not Sent To SAP) last February, likely as an accident when the last user classification was being performed.
We are now in May and would like to "roll back" (erase) that data and redo the measurement (the data is invalid anyways since it is in February). Is there a way to reset the status so a new measurement process can be started from the beginning? I found an OSS Note called "Note 1150840 - System measurement: Unlocking the USMM" that could help if you want to perform a new measurement but I would prefer any other solution to erase the last system measurement.

Good morning Juan. Thank you for your prompt reply.
When clicking either the statistics or log button, I get a message "1 measurement job(s) is/are not yet started or still running" (message code BV133)
I suspect the measurement job it is referring to is the transmission job invoked when the "Send to SAP" button is clicked. That would likely solve my problem but I don't want to transmit just yet

System Measurement - Error while exporting to LAW file

Hi all,
We have the SAP ERP 6.0. We started the system measurement on our ECC landscape with the aim to consolidate the results with LAW in Solution Manager. We performed the measurement in our production server and we select System Measurement - Export to Law File and execute, we are having the following error:
Last measurement was not successfully performed (see USMM)
We are having the error despite doing the measurement afresh
Grateful if you could suggest what to do.

We have tested in other system with Basis 14 and it works there. So we are presuming that the error is due to Basis being level 13.
Still, we have informed SAP about the error.

Problem in sending System measurement report to sap (sdccn)

Dear Gurus,
I am facing a problem in sending the system measurement report to sap (USMM). I have have generated the system measurement report log and while sending it to sap
. when i click on SEND TO SAP tab it gives me message "Data has been already passed to SDCC for transport to SAP" .Please explain me what is the procedure after this .
As i have check the oss connection to sap its working fine
Even sdcc_oss connection is working fine.please help.

Check it in SM01 whether the transaction is locked or not if locked just unlock it.

Send system measurement to SAP

I can't send system measurement from system XY in transaction USMM, because the RFC connection SDCC_OSS doesn't work.
I want to know if I only via SOLUTION MANAGER can send this measurement or I have to change the RFC connection on the system XY?

Fix the RFC connection SDCC_OSS in your system XY.
- Ensure, that SAPOSS is functional.
- Recreate SDCC_OSS via SDCCN (Goto -> Settings -> Task-specific, RFC destinations, Settings, Switch to change mode and choose icon "Create destination to SAPNet R/3 Frontend")
You can still send system measurement data without Solution Manager

System Measurement

Hello Guys,
I am performing System Measurement USMM in our Development System.
I have 4 clients in the system, but we are using only one client out of it. So selected that particular client only for measurement.
I got the result as below:

We have purchased only 1 Developer License.
Please help me understanf following questions:
1.   Based on above output, hw much licenses will SAP consider in the Development system?
2.   Will SAP consider Service users also for licensing? The Service users are accounts like ADS_AGENT, Service users from R3 to Poratl connectivity.
3. Since I have 3 more clients (excluded from Measurement), will the users from those clients also be considered for SAP Licenses? There are about 1000 test users from other 3 clients.

Sagar,
Subject to your agreement with them, it would normally only be the number of users in the Production system that SAP would want to know about. The number of users in DEV is usually not an issue. The only thing they might query is if you have several developers in the DEV or TEST systems, but not in Production.
They don't count Service users or Communication users.

while running transaction usmm for system measurement i noticed i get
results regrading 3 kinds of users - professional,limited pro,employee.
according to which principle the clasification to user types is made? -
in other words can i move user from one clasification to another
(professional to limited pro for example) or is it related to
rolesgiven to each user?.

I don't get you. What's your problem?
User types are for pricing.
So every user type stands for a different fee you have to pay to SAP.
An user who only want to see data is cheaper than an user who want to change data.
When you do a system measurement and send the data to SAP, then they can evaluate the users with a certain user type and compute the fee for your user licenses.

System measurement - webdynpro

Hi ,
We use on production system own webdynpro application.
The first users use this application is classified as Dev User in the system measurement tr.code USMM).
I ddin't find any statement in the Sap System Measurement Guid version 7.0 in this context.
Why is the classifcation happened?
Please any explanation!

System Measurement with MII

Hi all,
has anyone ever did a System Measurement with a MII system? I know this procedure only with SAP systems with ABAP stack, not NetWeaver systems that only run with a Java stack.
At the moment I only see a way of collecting a list the defined users with some measurement related data and send it to the measurement people.

we have received an answer from SAP Global Licence Auditing Services.
NetWeaver Systems with UME User management that only have a Java stack implemented (like our system with MII) officially do not need to take part in the SAP system measurement. The functionality of system measurement for portals and duet systems is implemented but currently in a test phase.

License Audit and System Measurement for J2EE Systems

Hello,
I'm working on our annual license audit at this time, and for the first time the measurement plan includes non-ABAP systems: Enterprise Portal, Adobe Document Services, NWDI, and even the Java developers' NWDS installations. I'm fully conversant with the use of USMM and SLAW on the ABAP side, but I have no idea how to measure the J2EE systems, and I am unable to find any documentation on this. I did find one powerpoint presentation that talked about measuring Portal and Duet systems, but it's only valid for 6.40-based systems, and we are a 7.00 shop (NetWeaver 2004s). In any case, when I tried the suggestion in the presentation, it simply didn't exist for our Portal or ADS systems on 7.00.
Does anyone have any suggestions for how to proceed?

Error "CONVT_NO_NUMBER" while performing user measurement with USMM

Hi,
While running user measurement with USMM I am getting following run
time error.
To be specific - After preselections in USMM->system measurement->while
checking Green Check mark this error is screaming up.
Ae per Note - 1230640 :- You call transaction USMM and want to cancel
the user measurement using the cancel button (red 'X') on the dialog
box of the user measurement. However, the measurement continues and is
completed as if you had chosen the ok button (green check mark).
Above note is applied if the problem comes if we check red button
rather than green check mark.
Please suggest us the best way to procees.
