There was once a transaction called SPADE , which existed in SAP 4.6C, however it doesn't seem to exist right now and I am not sure if there is a new transaction available anymore.
The SPADE transaction was built for creating CRT or Conflict Resolution Transports, check help.sap.com for more details.
When you created a Conflict Resolution Transport its .PAT and .ATT files used to exist in EPS/out directory.
SAP Partners could create their own Add-Ons (their own products that are built around the SAP Server) and provide CRTs to address any conflicts between support packages.

We ONLY need to increase the number of technicians a user can see in the B1 calendar view at any one time. We have over 50 engineers and at the moment we can only see a maximum of 7 in the group view. If we wish to see more we have to use form settings/user tab to deselect and reselect more technicians
Is there either an add-on or some settings adjustment
In addition can the list of technicians be in the vertical axis onstead of the horizontal one (this would leave more room for more engineers!
If not is using an integrated Outlook calendar an option?

SAP ERP roll out to Algeria

Hello Experts,
Does anyone know what country version exists for a SAP ERP roll out to Algeria. I looked aorund the SAP website, and it mentions there is only "installation" pack in Algeria. Whats the difference between a country version and installtion only ? Any information around SAP ERP roll out version to Algeria or localization pack for Algeria will be appreciated.

first, I would like to explain about the term country used in SAP B1:
SAP Business One is currently available in 39 country* versions, also known as localized versions, each of which is designed to allow you to run your business operations in a particular country. In addition to the generic SAP Business One business logic, features, and functions, country versions also include country-specific functionality that is automatically installed and configured. These country specific functions help companies comply with local legal requirements as well as local business practices.
The term "country" is used for convenience only and does not necessarily infer the existence of a nation state.

When trying to create connection using Contribute 6.5, get error message "Unknown error. Please see the log for detail." The log says "Network connection timed out." What do I do now?

Have been using Contribute 6.5, and earlier versions, for years with Hostway without any problems. All of a sudden I cannot create a connection to our website. Tried to chat with Adobe a twice now and got no help. Yesterday they started a chat with me, then ended the session without any communication! My problem has been going on for several weeks now. I uninstalled Contribute, downloaded and installed again, but it did not help. Hostway had me connect with Zilla and everything worked fine. So, they say the problem is with Adobe. The last attempt ended with "Unknown error. Please see the log for detail." The log says "Network operation timed out." Does anyone have any suggestions?

What mail provider are you currently using (Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo?).
Open up safari and go to that providers website and log into your email.
If you get in than open the mail app and click on mail on the top of the screen, then go down to preferences, click on the accounts tab, and type your password. Close the window and it will save.
If this doesn't work I would even try deleting the account by going into mail/preferences/accounts and clicking the - button in the bottom left corner. Than re add and configure the account by pressing the + button.

Crystal Report doesn't prompt for SAP credentials / errors out on refresh

2 Environments tested with same results:

BOE XI 3.1 SP2 & BOE XI 3.1 SP2 FP2.5 
SAP Intg Kit on mirrored SP/FP levels in each environment.

We've been successfully creating Crystal Reports against BEx queries in BW for months now as well as ECC master data. We've also built universes and have WebI reports actively working against similar BEx queries in the same. However, we're getting some curious behavior when we refresh the Crystal Reports against BEx queries in BW. Verified all necessary transports and authorizations have been provided for both authoring, as well as refreshing/viewing on demand, etc.

We've setup all the Crystal Reports we're testing to:

a) Use custom database logon information specified here. 
b) Specify a custom driver, leveraging the crdb_bwmdx driver 
c) Prompt the user for database login

We have not enabled SNC as of yet.

1) When we refresh a WebI report hitting a BEx query with security applied, it doesn't prompt for the credentials, but we confirmed through tracing on the SAP side that if the user hits a paramater it has access to, the data comes through and when we hit a paramater they do not have access to, we can clearly see SAP reject it and it spits out a logical error on the BO side in InfoView and in the WebI logs on the BO server.

2) When we refresh a Crystal Report hitting ECC data, we are prompted for the SAP credentials and everything works as expected

However:

Now, if we use a test user in SAP that has NO SECURITY restrictions at all and open access to the query, the data comes through. However, as soon as any security is applied to the query level, even if it is SAP ALL, we cannot retrieve the data. Tracing is also strange, as we can see on the SAP side it buffer the selected paramaters, but unlike with the WebI reports, it never shows it reaching the point where it checks each paramater against what the role has access to. An error is then spit back. We run the same queries with the same users within SAP and get normal behavior. It's as though as soon as we apply security to the query the mdx driver doesn't like it. Dependant on the type of InfoView viewer we use, the errors we consistently get on the BO side are:

Interactive Viewer: "Error in File %reportname%: Encapsulating Page Failed" 
Java Viewer: "Error in File %reportname%: Database Connection Error"

Nothing glaring in the event logs on the BO servers or in the Crystal logs that I can see, however just because it isn't spitting a specific error in the crystal logs doesn't mean I'm not missing something because I don't know what to look for behavior wise. To reduce the liklihood that it has to do with the way the report was built, we've tried against the same query by building a report using standard methods, as well as the SAP Toolbar using a very plain jane report. Same behavior.

EndInstall() Call Returns Zero But SAP Still Times Out?

Hi,
I have an add on installer where the setup.exe file was created and compiled using InnoSetup. Since switching from 32 bit to 64 bit it has been a struggle since there is so little documented by SAP on this. I finally found out that we cannot call the EndInstall and EndUninstall functions directly in AddOnInstallAPI_x64.dll like we could in AddOnInstallAPI.dll for 32 bit add ons. I created a Visual Studio wrapper project that contains the calls to EndInstall and EndUninstall and I launch that compiled executable at the end of my setup.exe installation procedure. I have logging inside the wrapper which gives me the result of the EndInstall call and it is returning a 0 which means it was successful. Even still, SAP still sits until it times out and tells me the add on registration failed and it needs to be corrected. Oddly enough, if I run my wrapper executable manually right at the end of my installer, SAP does get the signal and says the add on was installed successfully.
I need to get this resolved so I can do a required add on upgrade. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there any way yet that we can call the 64-bit functions directly from the DLL file yet? Why has SAP not addressed this yet?

I've tried both EndInstall and EndInstallEx directly from the 64 bit DLL but neither worked. Here was my code in InnoSetup to call EndInstallEx.

SAP PORTAL Time-Out Settings / BO iView Reports..?

We have created BO object-specific iView requests in SAP PORTAL based on Ingo's posting....
SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise & SAP Enterprise Portal - Part 3 of 4
Currently, just posting some small CR4E and Analysis for Office (*Design Studio will be added in a few months) report objects that are based on BW queries - and response time is a few seconds.
However, long-term as our BW grows - and the volume of data/periods expands we may see some reduction in the performance of these reports, and they make take a few-minutes to return data.
The SAP Portal team already have an issue with an ECC / T-Code report (*no Business Objects involved) which runs over 100 seconds - and hits a Portal time-out....and are wondering if we would hit the same issue if a CR4E within the Portal ran longer than 100 seconds...?
I think the answer is "NO", the Portal time-out would not apply in that scenario. My assumption is that in our solution-path, the Portal's 100 second time-out rule would ONLY apply to the process of the Portal invoking the iView request - and opening the frame for the CR4E content.
Once the frame is open - and the RPT / Prompt-Screen is loaded the Portal time-out is "happy".
After that iView -> BO frame is established....so, even if the CR4E & BW Query took more than 100 Seconds to return/display the data - the SAP Portal would not time-out - as all of that activity is actually taking place at the BOE Platform layer within the frame (and using the time-out settings at the BOE level).
Can anyone confirm that my assumptions are correct, or explain where the assumption is wrong..?

In our scenario, the SAP PORTAL has a 100 second time-out, but the Business Objects platform where the CR4E content is hosted has a 600 second time-out for "View on Demand" reporting.
When the SAP PORTAL opens the iView connection, it is opening the CR4E content in a frame on the Portal. Prompts are entered - and the RPT execution begins on the BOE platform.
There is a "spinning-wheel" displayed from the BOE platform, and if run in BO LaunchPad it could run for up to 600 seconds before a time-out occured.
When it is presented in SAP PORTAL via iView connection - does that "spinning-wheel" from BOE Platform provide enough of a "heartbeat" to let the PORTAL know not to drop the connection at 100 seconds....?
My reasoning is that SAP PORTAL should be opening the BOE content with the same rules that apply when the report is opening in the BO LaunchPad.
We are going to create a "SLOW" report in CR4E (*Lots of charts & sub-reports) to test/compare LaunchPad and Portal display of the same report.

SAP GUI Roll Out Best Practice

I was wondering what is the best practice for rolling out a new SAP GUI. My plan is to upgrade our IT Department, and Super Users with the upgraded GUI and see if any errors/problems occur. If I don't have any major issues I would roll out to the User Community after about two/three weeks.
Is this typical practice ? I have heard other Professionals say to just roll the GUI out, and don't worry about testing it ? and I have heard other companies etc.. do a set of testing scripts etc..

yes I have done it on our company for years.
once new released or new patch of SAPGUI is launched, I will ask my SAP Functional, ABAP and BASIS mates to try it for a month with various report and transaction variation for standard and Z-tcodes, for dialog and background processing, printing, and export and import data.
After my IT-SAP mates feels that SAPGUI is ready to be used, I will launched it to all user in another department and keep to listen any feedback from them regarding this SAPGUI.

I think two different products get confused here. Let me try to shed some light on this...
Adobe offers already for a number of years a product called Output Pak for mySAP.com (the product was originally developed by JetForms/Accelio which was acquired by Adobe). The Output Pak for mySAP is an SAP certified add-on solution to create print forms from SAP applications (R/3).
About two years ago Adobe and SAP entered into a strategic partnership to develop a forms solution which supports interactive as well as print forms. This solution is called "Interactive Forms based on Adobe software" and is available with Web AS 6.40 (however not yet in the Sneak Preview). There is a migration path from the Output Pak to the new Interactive Forms embedded in Web AS; it should however be noted that the new solution is a completely new development (new graphical forms design tool and new forms rendering services).
