UT2004 X-FI-Patch. Missing Reverbs, Occlusion ....

Is anyone else missing EAX-features ? When another player shoots behind a wall i can hear it as clearly as there would be no wall and not muffled at all. And i hear no reverb, every room sounds the same. Besides the new weapon-sounds, they?re rumbling
e and thundering with reverb and echo like in a huge valley even when you are in a x x meter small room.
OMG

"Darragh O'Toole: X-Fi is so powerful that it's unlikely that we will see another chip of its kind in the next few years. What you can look out for though are X-Fi products that cater for different bus types and form factors over the next year."
Well yeah, let?s hope they can release a pci-e card soon. Im 00% sure that manu of the pci-bus issues would vanish away with pci-e cards!!
"Maxim Liadov: Why is there no name for Creative's hardware 3D sound, unlike Sensaura and QSound?
Darragh O'Toole: There is! The actual brand name for it is CMSS-3D, Creative Multi Speaker Surround-3D, this then has sub components including CMSS-3D Headphone, for surround sound over stereo headphones and stereo listening enhancement CMSS-3D Virtual, for surround from 2 speakers and CMSS-3D Interacti've, for 3D audio in-games."
WHY IS IT THEN THAT WHENEVER MANY OF US USE CMSS3D, THE SOUND GET?S TERRIBLE. THERE IS SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH CMSS3D HARDWARE API!

  • Solaris9: smpatch analyze indicate wrongly only few patches missing

    Hi,
On my Solaris 9 system (through LPS solaris 10), smpatch analyze indicates only 3 patches missing (SAN4.4.x).
But when I check with patchdiag.xref, i find it should indicates much more.
I manuallly add (patchadd) the patch 140476-01 as indicated in the last smpatch messages (2009/01/13) to take in account the new certificates and new patchset (current2).
Could you tell me what I missed and how I can recover the fully functionnal smpatch ?

First, thanks for the analysis of sidmir. And thanks for having taken my problem in account.
Second, the patchdiag.xref i meant is the crossref of the patchdiag-1.0.4 tool.
I put an excerpt result of the patchdiag command on ACSLSCTI (i removed the CURRENT lines) is below. I consider that what patchdiag is warning about should be returned by smpatch analyze.

  • Patches missing in SCCM 2012

    Hi,
We are using SCCM 2012 SP1 to deploy are pathes. Now we want to install kb2797052 but it is not in our Updates Repository in SCCM. When I check our WSUS server, it is in there. I've read a few threads about this issue telling to reinstall the SUP and
that this sometimes solves the problem but...
We have the problem in all of our 4 environments. Also other patches are missing like kb2553091...
All Classifications have been selected (though I see in WSUS drivers are not selected, in SCCM this classification does not exist).
For the products, we did not select everything, but all Windows OS products and Office are selected.
I could also see that in SCCM we have selected English and French, but in WSUS "download updates in all languages" is selected, even though WSUS was configured by SCCM at the time of installation.
Could it be that the language metadata is missing on certain patches and therefore not showing in SCCM? Can the language of a patch be checked in WSUS?

    Hi,
I found this in my Wsyncmgr.log after Isync all the updates. KB2797052 has been superseded.

  • Preset Patches Missing Required Samples

I've noticed that several preset patches do not produce sound and appear to be missing the required samples. Additionally, in Logic Pro the same patches give me an error saying the sample can't be found.
Does anyone know why I'm missing these samples? I installed everything that came in the box.

Welcome to the forum! This is a very common issue and there are a good number of posts about this. Remember, the search function is your friend! This post will get you up and running.

  • Patches missing, to be updated later?

I'm running MainStage 3 on a brand new 15" MacBook Pro, OS 10.9, and there seem to be a lot of patches that I can't find. For example, tremolo strings, pizzicato strings, etc. I downloaded something like 40 GB of files but there is still a limited supply of orchestral patches. Will this be remedied soon?

Go to the cahnnel stri and, select setting. You'll find the drop down menu as pictured below. Select Legacy>Jam Pack Symphony Orchestra>Strings. Is this what you're looking for?
    Hope this helps.

  • UT2004 enhancement pack not that great, sound skipping

I have a slight problem with this enhancement pack. In general i like the new sounds very much, they are more detailed and punchier, but problem is that half of sounds is just skipped. And it's very annoying when you just don't hear any fire sounds from rifles, especially machine gun and pulse gun (plasma gun) are extremelly sensiti've to this, though lightning gun tends to "lose" the sound too. Basically all weapons do, just these above do it more often.
I have X-Fi Xtreme Music, using latest drivers 2.09.000, have installed latest OpenAL driver, all options are correctly set in UT2004 (HW+EAX, reverse unchecked, System Driver unchecked).
I also checked UT2004.ini and it has 20 voices enabled. Thing that bothers me is "channels" setting which is set to 24. What is this setting meant for?
Also how can i get this sound skipping(missing sounds) problem fixed?
    Thx

Soundblaster are total losers. Their latest driver didn't change anything since the last one which is almost a year ago. I sent an email to the tech support and since he was too dumb to give me any answers, he pretended that my warrenty was outdated so he couldn't help me... whatever god****it. Sound doesn't crack but keep skipping in EVERY recent OpenAL games such as Quake 4, Prey, UT2004 "with new patch". Here is what I wrote:
Hello, since I'm a fan of Unreal Tournament, I've downloaded the "enhencement" patch from Soundblaster a few houres ago here. soundblaster.com/products/x-fi/technology/ut2004/
Like always, soundblaster always make things appear like if they were godlike. The description is totaly fake. Here is what I gotta say about it:
    - FPS Improvement? Didn't notice anything better since I was already pretty over 60fps and I doubt that it's a huge improvement anyway.
2- There is no such things about hearing bullets falling on the ground. I don't know if they take us for idiots but all they did is modify the sound of the primary fire from the Minigun to make it look like if we could hear falling bullets.
3- They only modified weapon sounds and for those that are diffrent, they are extremly worse.
4- There is nothing that feels more surround "I have a Creative Inspire T7700 7.". From the test that I've done, they only made the weapon sound louder to make it feel like if it would be in surround. You would already hear them from diffrent channels before but since they weren't as loud it was not as evident.
5- I was starting to think with Quake 4 and a little also with Prey, that it was developpers of games that were too dumb to make a working OpenAL but now when I use OpenAL on this new patch of UT2004, it bugs just like Quake 4 so it looks like the dumb*ss is soundblaster. You can clearly notice sound skipping/cutting when firing with double assault riffle and few other weapons.
6- In the UT2004.ini if you change the default "Channel = 24" to 28, you get no sound at all. Then if you put it at 64, it just seem worse than 24 so how the hell are we suppose to get 28 voices with this new patch?! Before that patch, I had no problem in 64 though 64 sounded the same as 32.
7- The dynamic music seemed to be a cool feature on "papers" but in-game it is acctualy just annoying. Yes we can disable it but why the hell haven't soundblaster made a checkbox in the option? Messing in console with commands is annoying and impossible for the novice user.
8- All the above lead me to wonder if we ABSOLUTLY need an X-Fi WITH X-Ram in order to have no issue. Even though Quake 4 is as buggy with or without X-Ram.
Please I'd like to have some feedback/answers to this. Thanks in advance.

  • Does patch clusters contain all old patches?

Suppose I have a system installed long ago, that has never been patched. If I install only the latest recommended and security patch cluster, will I then get all recommended and security patches?
Or will there be recommended and security patches missing because I have failed to install earlier patch clusters?
    /Lars

    Hello Lars,
This forum is for the support of the Sun Update Connection product only. As such we are not the correct forum for questions of this type.
However if you install the latest patch cluster this will contain all the most recent security patches, which will either include or obselete the previous patches.

  • Trying to get suspend/resume on laptop. help me patch kernel

Hello, please help me up on this one, I'm rather new to Archlinux (couple months) but i really like it and feel confortable with it.
My problem is this, i have a laptop with an ATI card (ati radeon xpress 200m), which recently was running fine with the catalyst driver on a downgraded system (kernel 2.6.29). After reading about the new radeon driver and KMS support on the new kernel i decided to try it out and update my system.
Almost everything works fine, except suspension and resuming, which is strange since the site http://www.x.org/wiki/RadeonFeature marks suspension support as "done" for my card.
If I undestood right, the issue is related to DRI (which i want to be on) explained in this bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … mments=all
In that bug, there's a link to a patch that has solved the issue on some machines http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/g … 74d1173f23
I've tried to compile the kernel and patch the file rs400.c but i get an error, it seems i dont know how to patch or some change must be done to the patch to work on ARCH.
please help me patch the kernel, i've followed the archwiki without results. i have installed abs and copied the core/kernel26 folder to my home.
How could i successfuly apply the patch to the 2.6.31 kernel?
    $ lspci | grep -i vga
01:05.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RC410 [Radeon Xpress 200M]

    $ pacman -Q | grep video-ati

I get this error while trying to patch:

You cannot use this patch for 2.6.31 kernels. It is for the upcoming 2.6.32 release. You should wait until 2.6.32 gets released or, if you are the adventurous type of person, use the latest 2.6.32-rc kernel from www.kernel.org. You will have to compile it yourself, though.

Is there any news about the X-fi patch for UT2004. The patch is suppost to add new weapon sounds and increase the supported voice count?
    Quote taken from an interview:
"...We are in the final stages and hope to have it available for download sometime in March. Some of the new weapons sounds will definitely remind you that your subwoofer is still working!"
    Thanks.

  • No Eax 3 In Call Of Dut

I have an Audigy 2 ZS running in 4 channel mode at the moment. With Eax 3 enabled in call of duty shouldnt I hear reverb, occlusion etc ? Im getting no abient effects at all however i do get 3d sound and correct speaker placement of sounds. Same goes for Call Of Duty United Offensi've. I have the latest drivers from creatvie and the latest patches for Call Of Duty. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

I have the same issue, I get no EAX HD at all in any games what so ever.
Infact the only game I get EAX HD working is Raven sheild and trust me you REALLY DO KNOW when EAX HD is in full flight and man oh man its sounds awesome, but this game came with the card so its a marketing ploy only. The fact is Creative have no idea what EAX HD is and have no idea how it works or how to code drivers for it. Its upto game developers to get it working, thus why I only get full EAX HD working in a game that came with the card only. You can ofcause buy the game off the shelf, but only the game that can be got with the card, anything else it wont work.
The biggest problem is no one here knows at all why it dont work includeing Creative, but its more that Creative dont really care. Also, unless you have played Raven Sheild then you have no idea what EAX HD is meant to sound like, thus most are clueless and make up frabrications.
Someone says use the unified driver off game CD, this guy is on drugs as there is no such driver anywhere on the CD or any game for that matter.
Someone else says make sure the openAL part is right, WTF does this mean? If he means get the seperate AL .DLL then this is a waste of time as it has no effect at all and is not worth even talking about.
Anyone can say do this do that but without explaining what to do, how to do it then its pointless they even bother at all.
Do what I do and dont worry about EAX HD, for the most part as it is, its a farse and a marketing scam to get poor sobs like us to buy games and cards. EAX HD is a myth. Unless you use a game that came with your card then you are **bleep** out of luck to get EAX HD 24 bit working in any games.
I dont mean 24 bit sound though, I am talking FULL REVERB and OCCLUSION. This is EAX HD.
24 bit is a seperate story.
Sorry I could not help, but atleast now you know the truth about EAX HD.
