Utility or option to pause music by default (Pause Timer)

Is there no way to make the iPod touch 4 gen automatically pause or stop playing music by default?
It is odd that after all these years, there is still no way to hit the play button and know it will pause/stop playing after a preset number of minutes.
YES I know the iPod Clock app has a "once" timer. Set it to 20 minutes and it can put the iPod to sleep. I'm not looking to sleep the iPod, I'm wanting to pause the music after 20 min. And I want it to do this each time I hit the play button. if I am using an application such as a bed sleeping monitor, sleeping the iPod defeats that application, and others.
I want an automatic function that the pause button of the music player is hit or activated after ~20 min. And I want this repetitive, or persistent or the default option of the player. Not something I have to keep resetting.
I have bought numerous apps to help with this, none of which function to make the music play button pause/stop after 20 min. So that if I wake, and hit the music play button again it will again stop in 20 min. every time, unless the option is switched off.
The apps available are sleep timers, not pause timers and either require resetting each time, or set to a clocked stop time, and/or loading particular song or songs to play (without the usual music player controls).
The most promising application of all, AutoSleep, does not work for me. And even if it did, it cannot run in the background supposedly because of limitations with the accelerometer.
If however, you know how to get AutoSleep to work, and want to help me with this, I'm interested.
If you know a way to accomplish the automatic pausing of the music player after 20 min., each time it is played, I am TOTALLY interested.
I imagine there is no way to alter a function of Apple's music application or clock. (adding a pause instead of sleep to the timer of the clock). Do you know the facts on this last sentence?
If you know of an alternate music player which can run in the background, have access to the library same as Apple's music player, and can be set to a timed "pause" (not sleep) by default (persistently), tell me about it.
If you even know how to help me develop an application (utility - or script) to do this, I have XCode installed and am painfully slowly trying to learn how. I read where others are interested, particularly audiobook listeners, so maybe there's a market for you.
Thanks,

I know that this probably isn't too helpful of an answer, but I know that there's an app for it. I have no idea if it's possible with the default apps, but I bought one off of the app store.

  • Trying to get iTunes to run after relocating the My Music's default path.

Ok. I just recently partitioned-off a section of my EHD & put all my music inside it. Next I relocated "My Music"s default location to that particular partitioned section of the hard drive, so it now go's straight to where all my music is.
Now I have also partitioned off another section of my HD so that all my future program installs, install there (including iTunes) instead of the default C: drive location.
My problem is, when I then installed Itunes, after installing it, It cannot open it & get this message....
"The folder "iTunes" cannot be found or created, and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the "Music" folder."
Now is this because the My Music folder that use to be located in default C drive & is no-longer there, (+which it is mind you, just in a different drive+) Or is this because Itunes wasn't installed in default C drive to then find the my Music folder in the same drive that it "iTunes" was itself installed.
Moreover, what I really want to know is, where can I install iTunes so that it will find all my music & actually open & run finally. Remember I still have the the My Music folder located within my user, it's just being pointed to the partitioned HD to where all my music is.
My last thought is that I can install iTunes within the partitioned drive itself & it will hopefully execute & run from where all my music is. , but I really don't know. help?

You should be able to use the SHIFT-Open iTunes option to load your previous library from the ...\My Music\iTunes\ folder. If all your music was previously inside the ...\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music folder all should work properly in the new location. If you had links to other files stored below My Music, but not in iTunes Music, iTunes won't be able to find them and they would need to be reconnected to your library.

  • My 1st generation Ipod touch pauses music randomly. I've been through many headphones to see if that was the problem, but it still happens.

my ipod touch 1st gen. pauses music at random. I thought it was the headphones, so i've been through about three pairs, but it contines to happen. HELP

    Try the standard fixes:
    - Reset:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore the iPod from backup via iTunes
    - Restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod

  • Bought two songs from iTunes store on my iPhone 4s. Tried bringing the songs from my phone to my computer iTunes through iCloud but it doesn't even show the option to choose music?

My computer has been authorised and has the newest version of iTunes. My iPhone shoes the option of choosing my computer's music but my computer doesn't even show the option of music, but shows apps, movies, tv-shows and books. When i choose the option of find music to download from my phone, it says i have downloaded all yet i haven't and the music isn't in my library.
This was my first time when i bought anything from iTunes store and it also shows in my account information that i have bought these two songs but when trying to download them from my iCloud it doesn't work. Also when i click on the songs in my iTunes store on my computer, it says i have bought them but doesn't show the option of playing them. Is the problem in my iPhone or is this something to do with the songs' copyrights?

  • Ipod nano randomly turns on, pauses music & won't stay off

I got an iPod Nano 6th(?) Gen in August. It didn't get used for another month - loaded it with tunes in September. After about a month of intermittent use, it started to randomly pause music without touching it in any way. I also noticed that, even though the iPod wasn't being used daily, it rarely had enough charge to play for more than an hour. After paying close attention one day after turning it off, it just jumped back on without my touching it.  Disturbing to say the least - brand new gift, hardly used and not working right after only a couple months.
It was suggested by online and telephone support that the iPod be reset by holding down the keys; then reset, wiped clean and reloaded in iTunes (phone support).  Neither of these fixes worked.  Very upsetting.
In November I filled out a service request and sent my Nano back via UPS.  I am beyond livid at this point as #1 - their tracking page tells you nothing #2 - I almost didn't get my iPod back as they never notified me it was shipped via FedEx requiring someone to be home to sign for it(!) and #3 - my device was denied repair/replacement because they're saying that the LCI (liquid contact indicator) was pink, indicating that my iPod had been submerged in liquid causing the internal damage.  I was told that I had to bring it to an authorized Apple place and they could replace it for me for $65 which is about half of what my husband paid for the thing.
Um, unless this spill or submersion happened right before they sealed it in the box it never got wet.  I think this touch-Nano is defective from the posts seen here and Apple is looking for a way to not replace/repair at their cost.  Maybe their LCI is hypersensitive?? I might have breathed on it or maybe it couldn't take the humidity in August when it was given to me... If a device is to be sold for use by the average, active person (it has a pedometer for Criminy's sake) maybe it shoudn't be so sensitive to "wetness".

Call Apple Customer Relations-1800-767-2775.  Explain to them exactly what you stated in your post.
     Good luck!

  • Archive Utility's option "save in" doesn't work

Archive Utility's option "save in" doesn't work in Finder. Even I use its .prefPane and set it there…
I only want all my archives created with Finder are saved on the Desktop…
What's wrong with Mac OS X?

I think I found it. It's look like a bug in Mac OS X…
Look at my screenshot. There should be "archive-into" instead of "archive-info" (like in "dearchive-into")?

  • Pause music in SWF file?

When I play back SWF files from Newgrounds that have
background music, and I pause the movie with Enter, the music
pauses as well to keep in synch with the animation. Yet when I play
back test movies in Flash, the music keeps playing even when I
    pause the animation. Why?

Hi. It looks like your code is not finding the mp3. At least,
I can reproduce your error code by removing the mp3 from the
    directory, or renaming it.
Btw, if you test with FF instead of IE, you'd see the error:
    Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2032:
    Stream Error.
    at KZFlash_fla::Sound_2/KZFlash_fla::frame1()
    Hope that helps.

Try writing a rule. Sample below.

  • In iTunes I'm having problems changing the "Media Kind" with a number of playlists in the OPTIONS menu from "music" to "audiobook". After going through the steps, the next time I check the items have reverted back to "music". What step am I missing?

In iTunes I'm having problems changing the "Media Kind" in the OPTIONS menu from "Music" to "Audiobook". After going through the steps, the next time I check, the items have reverted back to "Music". What must I do to save it as an "Audiobook"?

After more digging in the Support section here and some Google work, I turned off iTunes Match and lo and behold!  I can change the media kind to Audiobook!  So, it looks like iTunes Match locked the files up somehow and for some reason.
I went into iTunes Store > iTunes Match > "No, Thanks" to disable it on the local PC.

  • Music skips and pauses during work out

    Ciao a tutti,
I like to use my iPhone when I'm working, stapping it to my arm with an XtremMac SportWrap, and listening to my playlists.
I'm running for about 40 minutes and usually about halfway through my workout, or towards the end, the music starts wigging out. It pauses, then skips ahead to the next track, pauses again, on and on. Sometimes it just stops playing and I have to hit play again.
After my second trip the Mac Genius he replaced it. But it's now happening to the SECOND ONE!
My fear is that it's a corrupt music file, which would kill me because I have over 20,000 songs in my iTunes. The other possibility is maybe it's heating up too much during my work out. ???
Has anybody had this problem before!

One thing you might take a look at.
be conscience of any moisture getting in the microphone on the earbud cables when your working out.
This could cause the contacts to short out and as a result the music could start pausing, or skipping.
    Hope this helps.

  • In My car, the music won't pause for phone call in iOS 8.3

I'm having a strange and potentially awkward new bug when I have my iPhone 5S connected to my car via Bluetooth. I just upgraded to iOS 8.3, and all of a sudden my music won't pause for an incoming phone call. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I've spent over 6 hours troubleshooting this issue with Apple,  AT&T Advanced Business Technical Support,  and I just got back from another 2 hour session with a top Apple Genius expert at my local Apple Store a few minutes ago.
There does not seem to be any resolution with the 8.3 iOS software on my iPhone 6 Plus!  They gave me a brand new phone and it still exhibited the problem - Call forwarding does not work. They tried to push the issue off on AT&T, but then they could not produce a single phone at the Apple store running iOS 8.3 that showed call forwarding working.
I hope Apple releases a fix of this soon!  It's critical to my daily business as I need to turn call forwarding off/on several times a day due to poor coverage or no coverage depending on my physical location.
If someone has any suggestions please help!

  • My touch is randomly playing and pausing music and speeding it up. Also Siri is randomly popping up.

When I'm listening to music it will pause and play on it own it will also speed up like I'm fast forwarding it. Also Siri keeps popping up when I don't hold down the home button. Help?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Another pair of headphones if it happens only with headphones
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Pause music in windows

How would you send a command to windows to pause music playing in an external program, such as itunes or windows media player

    dkat106 wrote:
is there a windows cmd command that does it that can be implemented through java?Possibly, but you're approaching the problem from the wrong angle. What you need to be looking for is how to manipulate your media player through interfaces other than the GUI. Wouldn't surprise me if there are command-line arguments WMP can be used with to control it, and there are some media players which allow you to control them through a telnet session or even over HTTP. Research that, then worry about using Java to do it

  • ITunes: where is the option to sync music without iCloud ????

I have 3000+ songs in my iTunes account on my mac Mini
I upgraded to iO6 and now, the only option I have to sync my music that I see is with iCloud.  I no longer have an option to sync the music on my computer directly to my iPhone.
iClould doesn't work at 41,000' with no wi-fi and no cell service, or when I am camping in remote areas.
Where is the option in iTunes to sync music from a computer to a iPhone or other device?
    Thanks for the help folks.

    Thanks sberman.
    I have iTunes 10.7 (21)
I don't have Mountain Lion, and there is no option to "Sync Music" when I plug my iPhone in.  I have had a Powerbook G4 since 2005, and have being using iTunes since 2005 with multiple iPods, iPhones.
There simply isn't an option to sync my music with my iPhone 4S.
I do see the ability to sync contacts, photos, but when I click on the music tab under iTunes, I see this image:
I have never seen this option before and would love to see the option to "Sync All Music", "Syn All Playlist" and "Sync Selected Playlists" or whateve the old screen options where.
Do you really think this is a iOS 10.7.5 issue vs 10.8 (Mountain Lion)?
Thank you very much for your replies.

  • Music player, default albom logo

    Nokia n8 Symbian Anna
How to set the normal logo (as in the first image) instead of the ugly logo symbian anna (as in the second image)?

I find the file manager fine , but also use Xplore Symbian file manager as well which is customisable and free
    http://www.lonelycatgames.com/?app=xplore
As for music player, changing the theme on the phone will change the default on music player default look, but setting album art on tracks with Windows Media Player will make it look much better, just drag and drop art to Album icon in WMP !
