Utility to report changes after software installation?

After reading about files that Logic Pro 8 moves or deletes (if Logic 7 & Jam Packs installed), I'd like to be able to monitor exactly what it does so that I could restore any missing files from tape.
With Windows, I've got a utility that will report all changes, additions & deletions of files.
Does a tool like this exist for OSX?
Or, is there a tech note outlining how to fix things from Apple?
I have Logic 8, but too spooked to install it!

Using DBCA
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14196/install003.htm
Go to section To launch DBCA.
Then go to this link.

If your BlackBerry stays powered off with a black screen, follow the instructions below. The only indication of life might be the blinking red LED light in the top corner. Nothing seems to wake it up and Desktop Manager doesn't recognize any device is connected.
    1) Make sure you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
    2) On your PC, go to Start > Run and copy and paste the following line exactly (meaning with the quotation marks):
    "c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader\loader.exe" /nojvm
    3) The Application Loader Wizard will appear -- click "Next."
    4) In the "Connection:" drop-down menu, you should see "USB-PIN: UNKNOWN". Click the "Next" button.
    5) You should then see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Hit Next and Finish and you are well on your way to getting your Blackberry back to life. Just don't disconnect anything and let the lengthy process finish completely.
NOTE: If you do not see a list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead see the message "The Blackberry Desktop Software does not have Blackberry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator," then you must download Blackberry's Operating System for your carrier and device.
    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads
Just select the appropriate carrier and network type, select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the above steps again and you should be on the right path.

  • Unable to print after software installation

After installation of Adobe Photoshop CS2 and Bridge CS2, I could not print from Photoshop (cannot print file because there is not enough memory (ram)) and all other applications (error during printing). Reinstalling the programs and disinstalling them did not help. I tried removing the printer from the printer utility and then reinstalling the driver. But I could not add the printer due to error 13. Another weird thing though, whenI tried to install the printer driver that came with the printer, it refused to install because it needed administrator or higher level access. I am sure I did not had any problem with this driver file before. Eventually I download the driver from Epson and it did not require administrator right to install. I tried using the Printer Setup Repair program, but it could not find anything wrong with it. Can someone please help me out here? Thanks.

I have exactly the same problem! HELP PLEASE!!
    Thanks

  • Error -1 after software installation: Factory problem in IPAD - Support in Lima,Peru?

A new IPAD black 32GB VRZ was bought in Las Vegas Fry´s Electronics in September 2012. IPAD was moved to Peru after purchase for personal use.
After a month of use, IPAD restarted by itself, then I tried to reinstall the software via ITunes. Software was recovered but during verification the installation abort showing error -1.
I contacted local Apple local support in Peru and they informed me that I have an origin factory problem in my IPAD and the only solution is to replace the IPAD. They asked to Apple headquarters the guarantee application however they were informed that Guarantee does not apply in Peru, because IPAD was bought with Verizon in Fry´s Electronics???. Guarantee for IPAD with Verizon is blocked for equipments located in Latin America ???
Apple representative gave me the option that guarantee could apply if I returned to Fry´s Electronics in las Vegas to make my complaint. By obvious reasons, I will not make such a long trip from Peru to USA to get the replacement for the IPAD.
The other option they recommended me is that Customer support from Verizon informed to Apple headquarters to deblock the guarantee for this case in order that the local Apple representative can assist me.
I need a contact in Verizon who  can support to me for this problem in Peru and solve it. I will appreciate to get an e-mail or any recommendation which can help me in this issue.

  • Aironet 1242ag no longer working after software installation

We killed an aironet 1242AG access point - someone installed the LWAPP software and it
either got corrupted or the software itself changes the way the device functions dramatically.  In any

doesn't seem to work either - We've tried a factory default reset but that doesn't do anything.

  • How to create database after software installation only

    Hello,
I installed Oracle 11g Release 2 on CentOS 5.4 system. During the installation process for "Select Installation Option" I chose "Install Database Software Only".
    Now the installation is complete.
What steps should I accomplish in order to create a database now?
    Could anyone advice?

    Using DBCA
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14196/install003.htm
Go to section To launch DBCA.
    Then go to this link.

  • Mouse buttons not responding after software installation.

I installed software from Logitech for my new mouse. The cursor moves, but the buttons don't respond. I want to uninstall the software, but without the "click" feature, I cannot choose "uninstall" instead of the highlighted "Quit" in the dialog box. Is there a way around this problem? The mouse had been working just fine until I decided to install the software.
    iMacDVD   Mac OS X (10.2.x)

So what feature of the Logitech software is it that you want to keep? I'm not quite understanding you. My guess is though, there probably isn't a way to keep part of this utility. I'm guessing either or, but since I have no experience with this particular software I can't be sure. Could you tell us what mouse and what software in particular you have?

  • Java Change After WebLogic Installation

    Hello,
I've installed WebLogic 10.3.6 with FMW 11.1.1.6 running on OEL 6.3. I'm running Java 1.7.0_5. I'm trying to deploy a vendor's web application. The deployment is fine. However, when I try to run the web application, I get various java errors. The vendor says they don't yet support Java 7.
If I uninstall Java 7 and install Java 6 build 33 (or 35), how can I reconfigure WebLogic to use the "new" jdk? Can I rerun the wls1036_generic.jar and just select the "new"jdk? Or do I have to uninstall WebLogic, change Java versions then reinstall WebLogic?
    Thanks,

    Hi Mike,
You can reframe your Java home with in script file while will reflect all the changes.

    Good Morning,
So despite numerous variations and permission settings we are still experiencing problems with this. So this is what has been done so far –
The msi file has been moved to another location on the network which we know works for other msi files –
This did not work although when we check event viewer, gpresult and RSOP the policy is being applied but the software installation is failing.
Added domain users to local admins. The share folder containing the source msi has
Everyone setup for read and execute permission –
    This made no difference
Tried running the msi file logged in as administrator and also tried running the msi whilst logged in as myself –
The msi runs fine for administrator but will not run when logged in as myself and gives the following error:
Software installation failed due to the error listed below. The installation source for the product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that
    you can access it.
The msi contains an upgrade to our antivirus software. I setup two machines one with the old antivirus software installed on it and the other without any antivirus software on it. Logged in as domains users on each machine and did a gpupdate /force /boot
After logging back in I ran RSOP and found that on the machine which had no antivirus on it to begin with there was an error for software installation stating –
Fatal error during software installation. For the machine that had antivirus already installed on it there was no such error and the software installation states that the installation was successful and yet the new A/V software is still not installed.
This morning I got in early to try and do some more work on this but my boss was already here and advised that even a login script will not work so he has installed it manually on one of the machines and it appears to have worked fine. Not really sure where
    to go from here.

  • Software Installation - Group Policy

I created a group policy objects to include software installation of both Adobe Flash Player ActiveX and NANPI but they did not update both on several systems that I tested on.
UNC Path to both MSI files are good and I checked permission, it should not be any problem for these systems to access both MSI files. My goal is to update existing Adobe Flash to latest version and to install them if any system do not have them.
I do not understand why Group Policy failed to update Adobe Flash ActiveX and NANPI version 14 to 16 on both systems.

Application Event Log is showing this:
    Application Management Group Policy
    General
Failed to apply changes to software installation settings.  The installation of software deployed through Group Policy for this user has been delayed until the next logon because the changes must be applied before the user logon.  The error was
    : %%1274
    Detail
-> Event Data: The installation of software deployed through Group Policy for this user has been delayed until the next logon because the changes must be applied before the user logon. 1274
Do you have any idea what this can be causing this problem?

  • Software Installation issues via GPO

    Hi there,
I have created a new GPO (computer configuration) that deploys Sketchup Pro 2014 to computerson the network.
My tester computer refuses to install it.
Here are the System Events i receive:
    Event 101:
The assignment of application SketchUp 2014 from policy Application Delivery - Sketchup 2014 failed.  The error was : %%1274
    Event 103:
The removal of the assignment of application SketchUp 2014 from policy Application Delivery - Sketchup 2014 failed.  The error was : %%2
    Event 108:
Failed to apply changes to software installation settings.  The installation of software deployed through Group Policy for this user has been delayed until the next logon because the changes must be applied before the user logon.  The error was
    : %%1274
    Event 1112:
The Group Policy Client Side Extension Software Installation was unable to apply one or more settings because the changes must be processed before system startup or user logon. The system will wait for Group Policy processing to finish completely before
the next startup or logon for this user, and this may result in slow startup and boot performance.
I restarted the machine a few times with no result.
I also have: [Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\System\Logon\Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon = enabled]
All of my computers are equipped with SSD drives, not sure if that would matter, i had a heck of a time with GPOs and SSDs before.
    Any help?
    Thanks,

    I think I just found a solution.
    As per this
    thread:
Computer Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > System > Group Policy > Policy > Startup policy processing. Change from default to Enabled and 30 sec.
    Does the trick.
