I am using vf1 utl_file.file_type; in my procedure but i got error
ORA-00201 UTL_FILE must be declared
My serever is on UNIX

I have this procedure to write text to a file. I execute this on my own machine but it does not write to the file.I exceute it from SQLPlus by execute test_file();.It says proc successfully completed but nothing is written to text file.

Hi, what is the value for the parameter UTL_FILE?
You use an absolute path for the directory to write to in you r procedure.
If you would use a directory object in the database to specify where to write to you would not need to set UL_FILE parameter.

I converted a excel file to csv formatt.in thwe excel file some cells have been wrapped.so i find chr(10) charaters for the sam cells in the csv file.
Now am unable to read a full record because of the chr(10) found in come fields using utl_file package. how to sort out?

Error in opening a file .......... plz help ... its urgent

when i try to create file using this code, it gives error as
soon as fopen is called. /dev60temp/ is virtual path which is
mapped to a folder on my localmachine.
Plz oracle team help ... its really urgent.

if u want to open the file from the server u have to use
utl_file package, the text_io is used only for client side
files.for that it's not necessary to give out the virtual path.

View BLOB content through Forms 6i URGENT... URGENT...

I have a table which stores word documents as BLOB. My database is on UNIX machine and I access the database through a Citrix machine through Oracle Forms. My client wishes to open the word document in Forms which is stored in BLOB in the database. My database version is 9.2 which supports me to import and export files from file system to BLOB and vice versa using DBMS_BLOB and UTL_FILE packages. But, my only concern is regarding opening the word document through Forms 6i. Is that possible through OLE or any other means? I've tried all the sources. I know I can do it using Webutil, but it will not work for Forms 6i. Please help me in this regard. I have an urgent release tonight. Please. Please. Please. Please help me. Thanks in advance.

I know that OLE can solve the problem. But issues is my word document is stored as BLOB in the database. My database is in UNIX. So, I can't export my files into UNIX and open them. I can't view them either from Forms. Please let me know if you have any alternative. Please can you guide me with step by step procedure as to how this can be done if we can do it using OLE.

I use FORM to create a procedure to load the external Word file into BLOB. However, I always get the following error :

I already compile the FORM in server.

Not sure if the UTL_FILE package is the same but if you don't set the "utl_file_dir" variable in the INIT.ORA file prior to calling the FOPEN procedure you will get a similiar error. There may be an equivalent parameter for the DBMS_LOB package.

Logical command in ABAP.....Urgent

i am pretty new using ABAP program so i neeed help urgently. i am trying to move a file on the application server from one directory to the other and i was using the open dataset function to do that. but the file i am trying to move is pretty big and because i am using internal table to store, it is causing problems with the space.
i have consulted the basis guys and they have managed to create a logical file for copying from one directory to the other on the application server. to help you furthter. i am enclosing the mail sent to me.
I have created a logical command which should copy the file from one location to the other but you need to pass it the source dir and file name and the destination dir and file name.
The logical command is ZCOPY and uses cmd /c copy
Copies one or more files to another location.
COPY [/V] [/N] [/Y | /-Y] [/Z] [/A | /B ] source [/A | /B]
     [+ source [/A | /B] [+ ...]] [destination [/A | /B]]
source       Specifies the file or files to be copied.
/A           Indicates an ASCII text file.
/B           Indicates a binary file.
destination Specifies the directory and/or filename for the new file(s).
/V           Verifies that new files are written correctly.
/N           Uses short filename, if available, when copying a file with a
               non-8dot3 name.
/Y           Suppresses prompting to confirm you want to overwrite an
               existing destination file.
/-Y          Causes prompting to confirm you want to overwrite an
               existing destination file.
/Z           Copies networked files in restartable mode.
The switch /Y may be preset in the COPYCMD environment variable.
This may be overridden with /-Y on the command line. Default is

We are using print program SAPF130K and SAPF130D for vendor and customer respectively.
My query is can we bring even the cleared items alongwith the open items in the same print program???
Now we have line items of open line items only?? As per our exploration into the program... we get only open items..
Also we are using SAP10 and SAP11 as the correspondence type.Kindly advise as to correspondence type should be changed so that it can print both the open and cleared items?

FUNCTION IS NOT WORKING WHEN RUN IN SRW.RUN_REPORT, URGENT

I have a report. it has got 1 Query and 2 groups.

The Query looks like above. Now In the report I have a 3 User parameters . For Each record in G2 the functions Func4,Func5 and Func6 adds the value to the user parameters at the report level.
Now the Func1,Func2,Func3 takes the value of last 4 record for each item at each G1 Level and devides it by 4 and prints . As an example given below

This report takes an parameter which is part of the Where condition of the Query Q1. If I run this report from the report builder and provide the value for the parameter then the report runs fine printing the exact values. If I run the report from another report(which I have to do, due to circumstances) using SRW.Run_Report and pass the parameter in the same command. The the function FUNC4, FUNC5, FUNC6 does not do the addition, as a result the Func1,Func2,Func3 returns 0. I dont know why this is happenning .
This is very very URGENT, My project manager is on my head to finish it ASAP. Please help.

One reason that I sometimes get 'NoSuchMethodError' is when I make a change to a
java class that is imported into another java class. When I go to run the
importing class, it will throw a 'NoSuchMethodError' on any methods that I've
changed in the imported class. The solution is to recompile the importing class
with the changed classes in the classpath.

I have two groups in data model of my report. I am using utl_file in a formula column of report last group.it's working fine.
but my problem is if customer has more than one invoice lines
then all that lines not comes under only particular customer only at a time.
For example my output is coming like this:

What's the source of your Summary Column? It's not allowed to choose here the formula column in whcih you reference the summary column back. But another column should work.
As alternativ add a formula column in the upper group with
utl_file.put_line(v_file_data,:SEND_CUSTOMER_NAME:SEND_ADDRESS1:SEND_ADDRESS2:SEND_ADDRESS3:SEND_ADDRESS4:SEND_CITY:SEND_STATE:SEND_COUNTRY_DESC:SEND_POSTAL_CODE);
and remove the same line out of the other formula column.
