Entries in the location bar drop down list with a yellow (blue on Mac) star at the right end are bookmarks.<br />
You can remove such a bookmarked item that shows in the list if you open that url in a tab and click the yellow star in the location bar.<br />

  • I want to open an .eml in Thunderbird instead in a Firefox webpage

I tried to fix it in Tools / Options / Applications, but I cannot add an file-extension (.elm) to the list.
Earlier the email-message was shown by Thunderbird, now (since an update?) the message is shown in flat text in an Firefox webpage.
    How can I resolve this?

Try this extension to set a favicon to a bookmark.

  • When I click to open Firefox, iTunes launches instead, and no Firefox browser window appears.

When I click to open Firefox, iTunes launches instead, and no Firefox browser window appears.

Actually... I take it back. I TRIED to update to 16.0.2, but I keep getting the error message that Firefox must be closed first. I'm using Chrome to send these messages, and have also closed iTunes, in case that was contributing to the problem. No use... I can't install the upgrade.

It has been changed. Please read this article:

  • Export: In the Save as dialog, the file name is always shown as Crystalviewer instead of the report nameu00A0

    hi,
we are using crystal report server XI. in this i am not able  to export a report with particular report name. see the following steps.
Generate a report. Click the Export icon.Select the format in which the report has to be stored and click Ok button
Expected Behavior:The Save As form with the report name as file name should be displayed
Actual BehaviorFile download window is displayed showing the name of report as crystalviewer.rpt and when Save button is clicked, the Save AS dialog with the filename as Crystalviewer is displayed. The user has to specify a meaningful report name

This sounds about right, I can't recall if I've never seen Crystal default to the .rpt name when exporting a report.  In developer XI, reports saved on the enterprise server have some crazy long non-nonsensical unique identifier on export.  If the report is saved locally, it just gives untitled.xxx on export. That said, I find the users usually end up renaming the report file name anyways, so not a big issue.

  • Prices for ringtones are shown in Kr instead of US$ How do I change that?

While looking at ringtones, they are priced in Kr. How do I change that to US$?

If you look on "More like this" there is a solution to this.

On itunes store in your itunes, make sure it's set to U.S.

  • E-Mail attachments are shown as "undefined" since switching to Firefox 7.0.1

Since I switched to Firefox version 7.0.1, any attachments I add to an e-mail are shown as "undefined". If I look at the "Sent" e-mail, and click on "Attachments", I find them to be correct. This is very confusing when there are multiple attachments as I can't tell which have been attached and which remain to be attached. Firefox is my primary (default) browser. When I checked on Internet Explorer 9.0, the attachments were properly identified, so I know this is a Firefox and not a Verizon problem.

  • How can i get google instead yahoo using firefox 4

every since i updated to ff4 when i search for something it uses
yahoo instead google how can i change it back and the refresh
button does not work any more

On this computer, it seems impossible to set Google as the default search engine. If I open a new tab and type in a search it always brings up this damn skinny yahoo page that says 'AVG' in the top left corner. The URL says:
    http://search.yahoo.com/search?fr=yhs-avg-chrome&type=yahoo_avg_hs2-tb-web_chrome_us&p=Some%20search
Even though I've changed the Keyword.URL in about:config and used Manage Search Engines to delete all other engines except for Google, it is still using Yahoo!
WTF? Is it hard coded somewhere?
[edit]I've uninstalled all Yahoo crap from this XP computer and it still does it! ARG!!!

  • Instead of running firefox.exe, computer asks me to "choose the program you want to use to open this file".

When I click on either the firefox shortcut or firefox.exe in the Mozilla folder, instead of running, the computer asks me to "Choose the program you want to use to open this file: firefox.exe". The recommended program is Adobe Reader 9.1, which obviously doesn't help.
I have uninstalled firefox and downloaded it again, but now I am trying to run Firefox Setup 4.0.exe, and it asks me again to "Choose the program you want to use to open this file: firefox setup 4.0.exe" Help?

This is a registry problem with your .exe entry
The below program worked for me on my vista machine.
    http://windowsxp.mvps.org/exefile.htm
You can download an exe file from there that automatically sorts the issue or you can edit the registry manually.

  • Why do I get a spinning black circle on Firefox tab instead of the Firefox logo?

Since downloading Firefox I am having about 50-50 percent success rate of reaching the website I enter or click on. About 50% of the time the site loads just fine and about 50% of the time the site won't load and I get the ever spinning black circle on the left side of the tab where the Firefox logo usually is. In the instances where the site doesn't load and I get the spinning black circle if I go back and forth 3 or 4 times or hit the "x" and refresh button in the address bar a few times I can eventually get the site to load. Another odd things is lots of times when I do finally get the site to load I still don't get the Firefox symbol on the tab, I get a spinning green circle instead. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

  • I can't import Seamonkey bookmarks because the only option shown on the "Import" screen in Firefox is for Internet Explorer.

On my XP computer the "import" option screen shows both IE and Netscape/Mozilla as choices; on this Windows 7 machine the only option is IE. Re-start doesn't help, and the installation of Firefox went smoothly.

You can export the bookmarks in SeaMonkey to an HTML file and import that file in Firefox.<br />
Which SeaMonkey version are you referring to?
    * Export the favorites in SeaMonkey to an HTML file (bookmarks.html):
Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks > Tools > Export
    * Import the HTML file in Firefox:
Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML: From File

  • How can I set pdfs to open in a new tab instead of prompting firefox to open them in Adobe itself?

I use a website with many links to pdfs. In Windows XP (probably an older version of firefox) I could right click on the link to open a new tab, and the pdf would open in the new tab. In Windows 7 (and updated firefox) when I right click to open a new tab, a new blank tab opens and Adobe starts up displaying the document in a new Adobe window. How can I change the settings to have pdfs open within the new tab (without opening Adobe)?

Tools -> Options -> Applications Tab
    Under Content Type find Adobe
Under Action, Left click and select "Use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox)"
    That should do it!

  • I cannot download a pdf - instead of downloading, firefox takes me to a map of my computer to select an application - I do not understand!

when I click on a link on a web page, and it is a pdf, I get taken to a list of my own hard drive, and am asked to select an application. I have to use safari to download anything!

Firefox doesn't display PDF files, it needs to be told which program you want used to open PDF files. See this:

  • Nged to paper, ruler, and paint brush instead of the firefox icon, why?

I did something and the icon at the bottom of window changed and I can't get it changed back.

Try this solution in [[/questions/883573]] and delete the icon from the dock and create a new icon by dragging the Firefox application to the dock.
