UWL - adding "Forward" to selected tasks

Hi guys,
Is it possible within UWL config files, to configure the "Forward" to appear only for selected tasks? I thought this would be a global setting i.e. it would appear on ALL tasks or none. THus, I wanted to find out if it is possible only for specific tasks.

i have posted exactly the same problem a few months ago, and no one answered me.
I couldn't find any documentation on how to add custom GP parameters in the universal worklist, in the examples on customizing the UWL XML they always refer to parameters from the r/3 webflow, never GP.
I really can't believe that nobody ever tried to do this and faced this problem!

UWL Dump - EHP7 - clicking on Task

Hi All,
We are upgrading our system from EHP4 to EHP7. After upgrade, we are facing dump in UWL when clicking on 'TASK' tab. Where as after selecting other tabs(Tracking or Notifications) if we select 'Task' tab, items appear in UWL. Please refer the appropriate screen shots below.
Below is the dump error when clicked directly on "Task" tab.
No error if any of the other tabs(Tracking or Notifications) selected and then selecting the task tab. Items appear in UWL.

Hi!
This can be occuring due to the fact that the click in the link within the UWL item is trying to perform a navigation to a PCD target which does not exist, or either is inaccessible for the user.
Based on what you have mentioned, that this is occuring only for one particular end user, maybe the problem can be related to missing permissions for this particular user for reading this iview.
What you would need to check is the Permissions of this iview (this can be checked in the Content Administration portal role), and check if it has Read user for all the users (Everyone group, for example).
Update me with your findings, and with any concern which you might have.

I'm going to install Oracle R12 and a few other things. I've applied all the required linux packages by hand previously and wanted to try the ULN to use the oracle validate package. I bought a network subscriiption, registered my server after installing OEL 5.5. It's a Dell R410.
Using the oracle_validate package does not apply all the dependent packages. What am I missing or doing wrong? I get the message I am missing dependencies no matter what I do. I thought that was the entire point of the packge to not have to apply all these packages by hand.

You are partially correct and partially wrong.
Turn
in Final Timesheet sends
the timesheet to the Timesheet Manager for Approval
but task update always goes to Status manger of the task. Taks manager you can see in MPP(insert status manager field then check)

How can I cancel only a single task without affecting the other tasks in the delivery plan ?
The following will allow you to cancel any tasks having a supervisor, without affecting the remaining tasks in the Plan.
1. Assign a supervisor for any plan task you may want to cancel. Do this in the Plan tab/Participants sub-tab.
Assign the supervisor from any of the 3 methods - Person/Queue, Position, or Expression.
2. In Site Administration, set to ON the Configuration Tab setting for Allow Task Supervisors To Cancel Tasks.

you could develop a subclass of Timer that stores a list of all scheduled TimerTask instances. Then retrieve the instance that you want to cancel:
TimerTask [] tasks = timer.getScheduledTasks();
tasks[0].cancel();
.... you would have to make sure it works (that the TimerTask is actually canceled and not executed), but the code would be easy- just over-ride each schedule method so that it adds the current TimerTask argument to the list of all tasks... .... I would imagine that sun has a reason for not providing that functionality. They may want to avoid security concerns about having a separate Object cancel tasks- or perhaps the reason has some thing to do with how the tasks are schedule on the machine.... ... you might be able to find an answer in the source code of Timer or TimerTask (src.jar in your SDK folder).

Adding notes to decision task in UWL

We're looking into deploying UWL and I'm running into some "challenges."
First, we're on Portal release: SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) SPS 15, the backend is ECC 6.0 (Release: 700     0015     SAPKB70015)
What I want to do is to have the "generic decision step" allow me to enter a comment/notes when I select the "reject" option on a given work item, as I've read in numerous forums, WUG emails, etc...
The "standard" config in UWL for this task is:

When I created a custom XML for it (I did it verbatim according to the sample in Darren Hague's book and/or as shown in SAPHelp), and when doing so, I don't event get the decision task options to appear. All I get is "Forward" and "Cancel Assignment" buttons.

I had the same problem and it was all the XML. You need to make sure you register after you create your workflow and custom tasks. I then copied the generated XML ( uwl.webflow.clientname.xml ) to another file and deleted everything but my custom tasks. You have to do some modifications to show the decision buttons and have the note be mandatory for rejection or whatever your requirement is.
I posted this earlier at Re: Dobuts in modifying an UWL XML file. The XML doesn't show for some reason but if you hit reply on my message at the bottom and quote it, you will see it. This was a simple version with just one task.

Forwarding a selection of a message in Mail, without if sending the entire message

Hello
I have recently incurred a few problems with Mail, forwarding and replying to messages.
I have selected a section of a message I wanted to forward to a friend, selected the pictures, clicked on forward and added a message and email address. I have later checked my sent box and Mail has forwarded the new message with pictures at the top of the email and the entire original email below, containing personal information, personal conversations and contact info!
Why? It did not show all this in the new window when I selected the pictures.
I have not changed any of the setting on my iMac as I have not had any problems prior.
Can someone let me know if there is a bug in Mail or have I simply done something wrong, as I do not wasn’t to repeat it again.

From the sounds of it I don't think this is a problem - I think it's just your perception
By default, Mail.app shows messages in a threaded view - that is, when you reply to a message (or get a reply to a message), Mail.app shows the message thread so that you can review the entire message stream without having to hunt down other messages in your InBox or Sent Items.
The clue is the disclosure triangle in the message list, and dividing line and message headers (From, To, Subject lines) between each message in the message pane.
The upshot is that this is local to your machine only - YOU can see the message thread, but people you forward the snippet to cannot.
You can test this easily enough by forwarding your snippet to an account outside of Mail.app - set yourself up a free gmail.com account as a test, for example, and see what that account gets.

Universal WorkList (UWL) items forward

Hi all.
When a user goes to forward a workflow to someone, you get the "Forward" button. When doing the search for a person, a list is returned. Where is this list created from? We want to limit the list to be only managers, but right now, we are retrieving the whole corporation, and this is unacceptable. How can someone control the people/employees that show up in the search list? Is there a certain authorization that goes with it, or an RFC that is called?

I didn't want to chirp up without concrete example for you. For your request, I am not 100% sure. Your only option I can think off off hand is to look at the UWL Configuration (ie. the XML config) that is possible. I know you can config "how" a task/work item as viewed (the "view") as well as how it is launched. However, I am not so sure you could limit the "forward" list. I believe it is just simply looking at the users in the UME for the portal to determine what/who is possible. In any event....if I were in your shoes, I would look at the SAP Press "white book" on UWL Configuration.....get the author's name (I forget right off) and contact him (he is VERY open to contact via email and he knows the UWL inside out).....that's just how I would follow up. Hope it helps.

Adding a dynamic selection to a logical database query

I would like to add a dynamic selection to a SQ02 Infoset using logical database SDF. I need the report to show only documents created at certain dates. I've added a selection field "CR_DATE" for BKPF-CPUDT to the Infoset and added the following code:
SELECT * FROM BKPF
WHERE BKPF-CPUDT IN CR_DATE.
ENDSELECT.
However, the report displays documents created on all kinds of dates regardless of the ones I've specified at the selection screen.
I can only use SQ02 and SQ01. I don't have access to most other transactions such as SE36 nor have the authorization to edit the existing report transaction such as FAGLL03.
Please, help.

Only certain table fields are allowed in dynamic selection, please see this sap note for detail :
Sap Note 310886 - Line items: Dynamic selections ignored
Permitted tables:
SKA1: all fields
SKB1: all fields
BSIS: all fields
So BKPF-CPUDT field is not allowed for dynamic selection.

Problem in adding parameter in selection screen

I am trying to add a parameter on the selection screen of a standard transaction(EG90 in ISU system).I added it through enhancement point but i am not getting how to maintain text for that parameter.As it is a standard transaction when i am going to goto->selection text and trying to maintain it,it is asking for the access code.Do i have any option for it or i should go for zcreation of the transaction.

unfortanly you need to enter an access code if you want to change somethink in standard without user-exit.
So....you need to create a z-transaction, if you want to add it.

Extended Notification for UWL + Change the description of task/workitem

I have implemented the Extended notification for UWL and I am getting the emails in outlook. Now the requirement is to customize the body of the email completely for the task '12300096'.
I have tried going to PFTC->Description but it does not have full text which I am getting in the email. I tried SE63 also. But in the email I am getting

Now I want to remove the following lines;

Go to SWNCONFIG -> General settings.
There you have TEXT_GOTO_INBOX - DTSWN_MSG_GOTO_INBOX. (I am not sure if this was the correct one, but you should check all the texts in general settings, if this was not the correct one.)
Now open dialog text SWN_MSG_GOTO_INBOX in SE61 (you see that you need to remove the prefix DT from the name). Here is your text. You can make your own Z-version of a dialog text in SE61, and then use that in SWNCONFIG general settings.

delete this request using
PTARQ> Delete documents (RPTARQDBDEl)
Please read the report documentation before
deleting the request but it should be safe as it is

After this,, there will be some incorrect workitem in approver inbox.
You need to clear that also by Tcode - SWWL.

Adding to the selection of a current hue/saturation adjustment layer?

I made a selection on a car, used a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer to change that selected color, though I went and used the Magic Wand to add more to my selection and that new part of the selection is not affected by the previous Hue/Saturation adjustment layer. How is this done? Do I have to make a new Hue/Saturation adjustment layer for the added selection Using Cs5.

There's selection of the color range the Hue/Saturation layer will work on. That's controlled by the little sliders that appear when you choose, for example, "Reds". You can do things like widen or narrow the range of colors included, as well as widen or narrow the ramps defining how much that colors near the edges of the ranges will be affected.
There's also the possibility that you defined a layer mask when making the Hue/Saturation layer, which will define which pixels in the image will be affected. If so, you need to click on the layer mask in the Layers panel and paint on it (white to choose which parts the Hue/Saturation layer will work on, black to choose which parts not to work on). You can, of course, paint grayscale on the layer mask to have certain pixels partially affected.

Oracle is adding "RowId" to select statement = ORA-00918 follows

i've a problem with a strange case:
Oracle adds a rowId column to the select - and this select has joins to 2 other tables and a ora-00918 is the result!
But my application don't throw a java-excpetion - this appears only in the database log files - in the application, no problem is determined!
Database is suffering under this statement because in an hour, 1800 statements are failing... so what could this be and how i can prevent it to add this column!?

Tough to help if you don't provide you Java and OS infor and the Oracle JDBC driver version.
Post all of the relevant Java code that is used to setup and execute the prepared statement and handle the result set.
The Oracle JDBC driver uses ROWID to support scroll sensitive or updatable result sets so it is probably being added for this reason.
Remove the 'TYPE_SCROLL_SENSITIVE' setting and see if the problem goes away.

The Oracle JDBC drivers use the ROWID to uniquely identify a row in a database table. As long as the ROWID is still valid when a driver tries to send an UPDATE or DELETE operation to the database, the operation will be executed.
