UWL and Launch task

hello guys,
we have plugged an UWL iview into the SAP EP 6 sp19.
a workflow is created on the backend. when we use the SBWP trasaction and run the WF task, a trasation is run in order to create a new material on the backend ...
whlie in the UWL the same task is not working .... a page is started when we click on Launch SAP task but this page prompt you to wait .... and never give back a result !!!!!
when a task works correctly into the SBWP ... do we hav to customize something on the portal side to make the same action working correctly ?
if yes could you drive me please, in order to make the "launch SAP task" button working correctly ?
best regards,
OlivieR.

Hi Olivier,
Sorry for the late reply.
I have seen ur last post with screen shot 5.
Actually the screen 5 itself contains that wizard.
You will see four radio buttons in the bottom of the screen. This is the referred wizard.
Being EP6 the options are somewhat different.
You have to check all these four options.
After choosing right option and clicking the start button you will see similar options as i explained in my earlier reply.
I hope you will now be bale to solve it.
I am always there for help (if i am capable of ) .
Regards,
Sumit

  • Approval of Working Times tasks show in UWL and shouldn't

Our employees use ESS to record their working time and the managers use MSS to approve that time.  Occasionally the task Approval of Working Times, along with the sender date, name and a Cats attachment, appears in the managers UWL which makes it look like someone has time to be approved however, we do not go to the UWL to approve time.  If this task is clicked on in the UWL a u201CService cannot be reached HTTP 404 u2013 Not foundu201D error is thrown.  The send date of this task does correspond with a date when the employee entered time in ESS which the manager approved a few days later in MSS.  So it appears that occasionally but not regularly or in any sort of pattern, time workflows to both MSS where the managers approve it and to the UWL where we donu2019t want it and sits there and drives the managers crazy.  (Managers do go to the UWL to approve PCRs.)  We have checked the workflow log and cannot see a split.  How do we prevent the time approval from routing to the UWL?

    Hi,
For me it seems that the the workflow should be turned off. There are ways to disable tasks from UWL, etc. (to not show them), but I would definately take a look to the CATS configurations in SPRO (unfortunately I don't remember the exact path, but it should not be too difficult to find). Basically there is place where you define that which workflow task is send to the manager when the employee releases the timesheet. You can perhaps remove this task from the configuration or perhaps there is some checkbox or something where you can turn of the workflow or whatever. Take look to this first. If you have CATS/HR people on your site, they will probably know what I am talking about.
Another perhaps good option could be that you do certain configurations for UWL and then the CATS approval application is opened when the managers click the item in UWL -. but I would first try to prevent the work item to be sent to the workflow at all, if it should not be sent there at the first place.

  • UWL and Quicklinks

    Dear all,
We have a custom made framework (based on the lightweight framework) and every portal page has a quicklink (so it's more understandable for endusers). As an example:
/employee/leave/leaverequest is referring to a portal page with the leave request application on it.
Now I have some tasks in the UWL that need to refer to this page and I am wondering if I can use the quicklink /employee/leave/leaverequest somehow.
    Any thoughts?
    Cheers,Noel

Upon clicking on the UWL item, any task can be performed based on your configuration and this could vary from launching a Webdynpro application, launching an iview, a simple decision task, launching an adobe form, ...
In most of the cases, UWL items are launched in a headerless new window and the quick link will not be visible to the user.
You might have already configured a quick link to get to the UWL itself (something like /employee/inbox) and this should be good.
I am not sure what you would like to achieve using quick links in UWL task launch customization.
In some cases, you will need to pass some parameters for UWL to work correctly and this might not work using your quick links.

  • Problem when creating a Form with Launch Task Form Wizard

    Hi all,
I'm using jdeveloper 11.1.1.6 over Windows 7 64bits for my BPM project.
I'm a new with BPM and i have a problem when trying to create a task's Form with the "Launch Task Form Wizard". I'm trying to create my Form based on a custom template, i already have imported the template as a library, now after i have selected the template i follow the wizard and i reach the wizard's rowX-columnX where i should choose the field i want in my form, but the problem is that i don't see any fields in that part of the wizard, the window is empty :(
I have created a business object based on a XSD, then i created a process data object based on the previous created business object and finally i used this data object as a parameter to the human task.
What could be my problem ?? :( :(
    Regards
    Carlos

I have also faced this issue few times. There could be a namespace issue / schema issue. Please check if you are able to see task:task in the schema section anywhere in the .task file you created. If that is not shown, the fields will not appear while creating human task form.
    Thanks

  • How can we launch Task Manager at Startup in Windows 8?

I want to be able to have the Task Manager start minimized in the SysTray when I start/log into  Windows. I've been doing this since at least Windows XP, and maybe back to 2000 and NT4.
There is a good discussion on this at:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/0065fc23-2578-4165-8f38-c22675ae33ad/run-the-task-manager-on-startup-how?forum=w8itproinstall
The conclusion appears to be that this can't be done. Is this true?
I understand the problem -- TaskManager wants to run with Admin rights if launched from an Admin account. But what if I just want to run it without admin rights, just like it would launch if my account were not an admin account, is that possible? Perhaps
one of the command line switches? I realize that would sacrifice some of the data, like HD usage, but that's OK. I just want the task list and the CPU usage graph. Ideally, like in Windows 7, there would be an option to "Show tasks for all users"
which I could then manually elevate the Task Manager to have admin-level access, but it's OK if it doesn't at launch.
    Thanks,
    Colin
    Colin

You can launch Task Manager as an administrator by scheduling it to run as a
task upon user log on via Task Scheduler and to run with elevated permissions and/or Administrator credentials.
That sort-of worked. However, the CPU usage icon in the systray didn't appear unless I closed and manually re-opened the Task Manager, which actually adds a step at every startup versus just opening it manually.
Strangely, it seems if I add two Task Managers to start under the Task Scheduler (something I did by accident during my experimentation), the icon does appear, but clearly having 2 instances of Task Manager running at the same time is not appropriate either.
Is there a way to launch it from the Task Scheduler at startup/login, as you suggested, such that the CPU usage icon appears in the systray? Maybe it's just a question of getting the right settings in the Task Scheduler?

  • İnbox and MW Task in one iview

    Hi all,
One of our customers want to see his inbox which has R3 Workflow  and his task which has Portal ad hoc workflow in one iview.
    Is that possible?

    Hi,
    Are you are using UWL?
If yes then please explain ur scenario a bit.
As far as i know UWL task iview shows task from all the connectors( sources) in one view.
I am presently having tasks from Action inbox and Ad hoc tasks in UWL iview without ne effort.
And if u have a custom iview in which you ant to see the tasks of these two types just have a look at the below thread:
    Uwl iview tab navigation prblem
    I hope this helps.

    Hi Peter,
Please check the performance by disabling the 'Protected mode' in Reader.
Edit > Preferences > Security (Enhanced) > Enable Protected Mode at startup
Uncheck this option. Click on Ok.
Close and launch Reader and check.

  • Setup windows and ConfigMgr task sequence failing.

    Hi,
Am trying to create a reference Windows 7 task sequence and the task sequence is failing at the 'Setup Windows and ConfigMgr' task.
There are a lot of threads regarding this step and in particular that as the machine is in a workgroup it cannot install the SCCM client successfully. As recommended on other posts have added SMSLP= and SMSMP= into the Installation properties.
The task sequence is still failing and am unable to make much of the logs.
Will post the errors if anyone can assist?.

  • I drag Firefox icon onto quick launch task bar, but it disappears everytime upon Windows start-up.

I had Firefox in my quick launch task bar. One day it disappeared. I dragged the Firefox icon from "Programs" to the quick launch bar. It also showed up in C:\documents and settings\owner\ Application data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\. But every time upon Windows start-up, the Firefox icon appears for a few seconds and then disappears. The entry in C:\documents and settings\owner\ Application data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\ also is no longer there.

I have had a lot of problems with Vi-View infecting Firefox recently but I have successfully removed it. In the process of removed and re-installed Firefox. On re-installation, Firefox works perfectly. However, if I close the program and attempt to reopen it I have a problem. An icon appears in the task bar and if I hover over it, it shows a normal Firefox start tab. However, I cannot maximise the screen to use the program. If I try to bring it up, a reduced size image flies off to the right of the screen. I have IE11 and Chrome installed and I have checked them to ensure Vi-view is no longer present on the machine to ensure this virus was not the problem.
My operating system is Windows 7 Professional, 64 bit.
Any assistance gratefully received. I don't want to stop using Firefox.

Many thanks for the quick reply. I have done as you suggested. I ran SFC, which did not report any errors. I copied to a USB stick and then deleted all traces of Firefox from my machine, not only in the "Programs" directory but also in "AppData". I downloaded the UK specific Firefox Full Installer and reloaded the application.
Everything is now working exactly as it should and Firefox is back as my default browser.
    Thanks again for your help.

I knew I'd seen the solution you've provided somewhere - either in MacWorld or MacFormat - but couldn't remember the Gatekeeper bit!
I shall save it somewhere VERY safe now in case this happens again …
You have made an old man very happy and saved me from worrying that senile decay had suddenly set in. (I was 70 last week so you might understand the situation from that.)

are you backing up files, or doing a Time machine backup, either way, the Time machine will STOP when finished and show "last backup at XXXXXX"  meaning its done...... OR if when transferring files, it will show a progress bar on your desktop and vanish when files are copied.
Open up the Hitachi drive (your G drive is made by Hitachi, and the best made by the way).....and see if the files are there.
a MORE VISUAL way is to open the hard drive file, and drag and drop files INTO the Gdrive and you can see them visually be copied there as you do it.
To see your HD on your desktop GOTO  FINDER......PREFERENCES....then GENERAL TAB.........check the box marked HARD DRIVES.........then your Gdrive will appear on your desktop........open it from there,  and DRAG and drop files from anywhere INTO the Gdrive....... easy visual way to see the files being copied into the Gdrive.

  • When I try and launch Firefox, I get this error message A copy of Firefox is already open. Only one copy of Firefox can be open at a time." and have tried all of the trouble shooting tips, can you help?

When I try and launch Firefox, I get this error message >A copy of Firefox is already open. Only one copy of Firefox can be open at a time." and have tried all of the trouble shooting tips, can you help? I thought if I were to completely uninstall and re install it might help, but I cannot seem to find instructions to do this....

See [[Firefox is already running but is not responding]], the image shown in that article is the Windows equivalent of the error message that you are receiving, but the information relates to the Mac.

  • Create entity and human task

    Hello,
I have a really simple process which includes a create entity activity. It works perfectly fine as data is inserted into the table and i can see everything is completed in the flow trace. Now, when i insert a human task after the create entity activity, things start going wrong. While i don't see any errors in the flow trace and all tasks are completed as planned, the BPEL component's state is showing as running and at the end of the flow i got the message "The transaction was rolled back. The work performed for bpel instance "123456" was rolled back to the previous dehydration point, but the audit trail has been saved...." It seems like it's waiting for something from the human task (even though it was completed successfully). As long as I leave this running, the process would try everyday from 12:00 AM to 4:00 AM every five minutes. That's another issue that i can't figure out. Can someone shed some light on this? Thank you.

    Hi,
its best to post this question to the SOA forum. The answer on this forum would be to use a  page template, a parametrized bounded task flow and then add the bounded task flow to each page that has the template. However, the task flow in the HT case is generated, which means that you re-build it all the time (meaning you don't work with the same task flow but multiple). If you know how to just use the HT API to access the information to display, you could write a generic bounded task flow for this. Check on the SOA forum if they can come up with a template approach for your use case.
