UWL Configuration Wizard - Empty Dropdown

Hi All,
System Info :  EP7 SP18.
UWL Navigation Node Configuration Wizard shows empty dropdown, under the property " Select the Navigation Node To Be Customized. In the UWL documentation , it shows  one dropdown as MAIN,however in this case there are no dropdown and as such the below table is not available.
How can I resolve this?
Any help would be appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Vikram Saxena

The work around mentioned in the 'link' provided by Kumar does not work.
SAP has not responded to our OSS Note regarding the UWL Conf wizard not working.
Anyone else know how to get the wizard to work in NW 7.0.  We are on SP 20.
Thanks,

  • Error after reload the standard XML file in UWL Configuration Wizard

    Hi all,
We are working with UWL (EP7sp10) and encountered a problem. The UWL Configuration Wizard gave an error. We found on SDN/WIKI a posting with a workaround (<a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/BPX/UWL%2bConfiguration%2bWizard%2bshows%2bempty%2bdropdown">WIKI - UWL Configuration Wizard shows empty dropdown</a>)
We tried this working around, but it did not work. We uploaded the standard XML file again. Now we cannot access the link "Customize the look of the UWL main page" in UWL Administration.

    Hi Leurs,
          Try doing the following:
         1. Upload the new Standard XML file from the another portal server with same support version or replace the changes u made to original and upload
         2. Remove the cache
        3. Register for all systems
        4. preview the UWL iView.

  • UWL Configuration Wizard shows empty dropdown

    Dear experts,
We tried to Customize the look of the UWL main page. But we are unable to see the tabs in dropdown list.
    our portal version  -
    NW 7.0 EHP2
    please suggest me on this.
    Thanks
    Veeranji

    Hi Veeranji,
This is happening probably because there is  overriding of the root navigation node.  This is quite easy to test.  With every xml file (other than the standard ones which are all with low priority), remove one by one then check the configuration wizard again.  Once you do this and remove the faulty file, you will be able to see the tabs and the Navigation node Main in the dropdown.  If you have a look on the wiki page: http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/x/ehU --> it also mentions how to solve this issue.

    Hi All.
I'm trying to configure UWL view thru wizards options.
Unfortunately it comes with "500 Internal Server Error".

Does any body have a clue how to fix this issue?
    Thanks

    Hi Sandy,
I am having the same issue, did you resolve it?

  • UWL Configuration Problem

When trying to configure the UWL by clicking the link:
Click to Configure Item Types and Customize Views Using a Wizard, and then in the wizard selecting:
Customize the look of the UWL main page
The Navigation Node Configuration page is not correct. The dropdown list and other controls are not populated.
Anyone know how to fix this?

    Hi Paul,
    See if this can help:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/bpx/uwl%2bconfiguration%2bwizard%2bshows%2bempty%2bdropdown
    "Issue :
While using EP7.0 and customizing UWL look and feel through UWL Configuration Wizard, you see an empty dropdown under the property "Select the Navigation Node To Be Customized".
    Workaround :
The issue is due to a programming error in the XML. The basic problem is that the wizard does not support the Navigation
Node name format that the mss file uses (<NavigationNode name="com.sap.pct.erp.mss.Main"....)  This is fixed in newer releases, but there is no need to upgrade since the workaround provided here is fine.
Open the XML configuration file named "com.sap.pct.erp.mss.001". The top navigation node should be changed to "Main" instead of the longer name "com.sap.pct.erp.mss.Main".  Just replace this string with "Main".This is what I just did and have attached the new com.sap.pct.erp.mss.001 file.
So that the UWL knows what navigation configuration to use, you need to go to the UWL iview properties and change the property 'useNavigationId' to "Main".  Otherwise, you will run into problems.
So, in summary, the solution is two parts: changing the navigaiton node from "com.sap.pct.erp.mss.Main" to Main, and setting the "useNavigationId" iview property to Main."

I've got exactly the same problem. The workaround we found out was to specify a
listen address for the managed server. Once completed, we removed the listen address
    manually from config.xml.

  • UWL Configurations assistant only works sometimes

    Hello Everyone,
I am having problems with the UWL configurations assistant.
The uwl version is 7.00 SP21(1000.7.00.21.0.2009.12.14204516)
    The Problem is as follows:
When using the assitant to change attribute names (ie. Change subject to Theme ) I can change it but after saving the change and checking the UWL the change is not there (ie subject is still subject). This happens not only with attributes but also when I want to change the view name. Some of the changes that I have made work but then some of them don't. I've cleared cache and all and even restarted the portal but not all changes are always made. I have no definitive explanation why some changes are made and some are not. Removing views from the UWL always works properly with the assistant so at least that works
I have already been though the complete SAP Help, Xsearch and the UWL Forum so links to SAP Help Won't help much.
Thanks in advance for any help
    Paul

    Hi Beth,
Yes I am using the Wizard.
    1. select the wizard link and in the next window select "Configure the main view of the UWL"  (Please note I am translating everything because our portal is in German. So not all names will be exact)
    2. In the Navigation node configuration window, Select Tasks -> New and in progress -> Customize the view button
    3. I then select, for example, the "Substitute for" attribute and select "rename"  in the "enter a name to be used in this view" area I enter "To" for this attribute and click on "accept".
    4. I see that the change in the attribute name has been made in this window
    5. I the click on the "save" button in the upper left corner.
    6. This brings me back to the Navigation node configuration window. In this window I select the "save and return" button
    7. The status page tells me in which .xml file my changes were saved (in this case MainCombinedTracking)
    8. I then select the "back to main page button" and am brought back to the UWL configuration main page
    9. I then go to the UWL page and check to see if the change has been made and I still see "Substitute for"
I did get this to work in one view (Tasks) but that took quite awhile and a few tries. I haven't been able to get it to work again in the other views (Completed Tasks and Tracking) or in other systems (Kon or Prod). I had cleared the cache everytime after checking and seeing that the attribute name had not changed. All of the customizing (personal) was deleted during this whole scenario so that it would not be in the way.
I have tried to use the wizard to rename the Tracking tab but this also did not work even though I selected the "Rename" button in the Personalize Tracking window
No errors are shown. I just see that the attribute name has not been changed unfortunately. I have not set uwl to debug mode but I will try that when I get a chance to.
    Thanks for your speedy reply
    Paul

  • UWL: hide task type dropdown

    Hi
In the header of each view in UWL, there is a dropdown to select the new tasks, tasks in process,...
Is it possible to hide this dropdown?
    Thanks,
    Wim

    Hi Wim,
its all configuration of the UWL XML files.
Search for NavigationNode name="root" Under the subnote "Main" you have the node
NavigationNode name="CombinedTask" . Remove what is below and add what is left in a new XML.
Dropdowns are gone for the "Tasks" tab....

  • PI 7.11 problem with configuration wizard

    hello guys,
during the configuration wizard to use PI functionalty of my PI system I receive a massage regarding the not correct registration of my system into SLD
ABAP technical system 'SID on HOSTNAME\SID' not found . But it's correctly in the abap technical systems.
What could be wrong? Is it related to the fact I performed a NAMED INSTANCE installation with MSSQL ?
anyone of us had the same problem?

    Hello Bruno,
Please follow the MANUAL wizard from the link below:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/EN/a0/40084136b5f423e10000000a155106/frameset.htm
Perhaps the automatic wizard could lead to a lot of problems.
It should solve the issue with the wizard.

  • Re-Installing SharePoint Foundation 2010 - Product Configuration Wizard Error

So i recently had to start fresh on my SharePoint development server. My database was left remaining on a different server during this process.
So after re-installing SharePoint 2010, I told it to connect to an existing server farm, and then put my database server name in, from which it was able to retrieve the database name. After this step though i ran into my problems... For some reason it is
saying i don't have the appropriate software installed to finish the Configuration Wizard, when i know i have it.
What can I do to fix this problem?

    Hi Zipatones,
Honestly, it is difficult to diagnose the cause of your issue since there could be several reasons. The best I can do is give you several options one of which might be the solution.
    1) During the configuration I would let SharePoint setup a new Config database. Then setup a new web application with the same URL as your original one. Instead of creating a site collection, detach that database and attach your original database.
    2) Do the same for the service applications. Setup new service applications and then detach and attach the original databases. I highly recommend you use powershell for service apps since you need to find the guids of both the application and its proxy.
    3) You need to make sure that the new SharePoint app server has the same version of updates (such as hotfixes) installed on your previous farm.
    Hope these recommendations help.

  • OutOfMemoryError when running Oracle BPM Enterprise's Configuration Wizard

    Hi,
I was trying to configure Oracle BPM Enterprise via Oracle BPM Admin Center. I left most of the settings to their respective default values; only adding in passwords for the Directory, Engine, etc. However an error was encountered when it is trying to deploy the '01-eng-bpmengine' EAR file. A 'OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space' was logged after running the configuration for a while. Below is the full error log:
    AdmCenterConsole.log
    FuegoLauncher.main()
    fix classpath: C:\OraBPMwlHome\bin;C:\OraBPMwlHome\bin\lax.jar;
    new classpath: C:\OraBPMwlHome\bin\lax.jar;FuegoLauncher.main() - 2
    arg[0] = C:\OraBPMwlHome\bin\obpmadmcenter.properties
StreamLogOutput: No log file specified in property 'fuego.log.admcenter.file'.
    Defaulting to System.err.

Is there any way that I can increase the heap size of the Configuration Wizard? If not, is there any solution to this problem?

    Hi,
It seems to be a Weblogic OOM (OutOfMemory).
Why don't you try increasing the weblogic memory (you have to modify your domain scripts)
I guess that after increasing your WLS domain memory settings you will be able to configure it using the config wizard.
    Hope this helps,
    Ariel
