UWL Customisation for MSS

Hi,
We are using ESS/MSS mySAP ERP 2005 on EP7.0, ECC6.0. I ma running into some issues.
1) By default the tabs displayed in the Portal UWL are Alerts, Tasks,Notifications, Tracking. I want the Tasks to come up before Alerts. For this I tried Navigating to System Admin -> System Configuration -> Universal Worklist & Workflow -> Click to Configure Item Types and Customize Views Using a Wizard -> Customize the look of the UWL main page -> Next -> But the page does not have any dropdown.
Is this change to be done directly in the XML itself??.
2) I would also like to remove the "You may also" section and "Resubmit" button which appears in Portal UWL. Is there a way to achive this??

Hello Chintan,
your UWL iView does have a property called "Actions to Exclude". Just provide the actions and you should be done.

Yes I was able to do this by editing the XML configuration and reversing the order for Tasks and Alerts in the XML.

Error in UWL configuration for MSS in portal..

HI,
I want to configure UWL in portal so that I can see/approve leave in UWL in MSS. Please let me know how to configure the same.
When I am trying to configure the UWL in system admin> system configuration> Univerasal Worklist Administration, under that i clicked in new button to add my R/3 system, in that popup i mentioned my system alias name of R/3 system and connector as Webflow connector and remaining field i kept as empty and i clicked on save button after that when i click on Register button OR Register item type for all system than I am getting the following error, please let me know what the issue is ?

Also when i try to test that system , SAP Web AS Connection AND ITS Connection connection are tested properly with green tick but the third parameter Test Connection with Connector is failing and the error is

The test consists of the following steps:
1. Retrieve the default alias of the system
2. Check the connection to the backend application using the connector defined in this system object
Results
Retrieval of default alias successful
Connection failed. Make sure that Single Sign-On is configured correctly
Also the transaction iview i created using this system object is coming absolutely proper, than why Test Connection with Connector is failing , please let me know , might be UWL issue is related to this one..

See in bold where it mentions that "The prerequisite for this is that,
in addition to the default JCo connections, you created the new logical
system name with the Web Dynpro Content Administrator and configured it
for the required SAP system." Meaning that there needs to be a JCO
Connection for "SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics_MetaData" since these are
the default JCo connections. In this case I kindly ask that you create
the default metadata and model JCO connections for
SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics and see if that resolves the issue.

UWL configuration in MSS

Hi,
We are trying to implement Leave scenario in ESS/MSS. I am facing issues while configuring UWL for MSS. Whenever I click on work item I am getting following error:
Application error occurred during request processing. Details: com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.sal.core.DispatcherException: The requested deployable object 'sap.com/ess~lea' and application 'LeaveRequestApprover' are not deployed on the server. Please check the used URL for typos. Exception id: [0011259B813C005A0000001C0000109C00046170BC105561
But when I am trying to access the iView Leave Request Approval from Content Admin-> Portal Content -> Content Provided by SAP->End User Content -> Employee Self Service ->iViews ->Working Time -> Leave Request Approval... I am able to view the request created.
Any help would be appreciated.

how can I identify the UWL system? Either I can call the UWL nor can I access the UWL- Administration. Both throw an portal runtime error. I think my problem is shown in the trace log:
Cannot provide the current ABAP master system because the responsible system landscape could not provide the system object.
But I don't know how to fix it.
Any ideas? Where can I start to fix something?

What are the roles required for MSS in R/3.
I have created ESS roles. But need to find for MSS.
I am able to see the PERNR in ESS on portal which created in R/3.
I need to get my staff on portal.
What config is required for this.

you will have to create manager as portal role and assigned to them necessary worksets containing necessary worksets look into the PCD in migrated content and line *?? folder you will have necessary ESS and Mss packages. and all configs is related to iviews system properties and transactions and applications you need to do it .please do not forget to give points

To change the Email retrieval logic for MSS in Portal

Hi All,
In standard MSS Business Package for employee selection Iview, under column email, manager get an option to send mail to employee by clicking on highlighted send option.
At present the option "SEND" get highlighted if the email value is maintained in IT0105 and manager is able to send mail to employee on the same email address.
Now in my scenario instead of getting the email address from IT0105, I need to get the email address maintained in transaction SU01.
And the problem in doing this is, for highlighting the "SEND" link under employee selection ivew, standard SAP code uses a
method GET_EMAIL_ADDRESS of class CL_HRWPC_SER_EMAIL in which they use a function module HRWPC_READ_CONTACT to check if the email address exist in IT0105 or not.
I can overite this check by using a implicit enhancement in method GET_EMAIL_ADDRESS based on email in SU01. But my concern is, if use an implicit
enhancement, then all the application using this method will retrieve data based on SU01 entry, instead of IT0105.
This email address retrieval based on SU01 entry is only required for MSS and it is not a common requirement.
So please suggest me a solution, so that i can get the "SEND" option highlighted only for email address based on SU01 entry only for MSS.
Also suggest me how to check the which all application are using method GET_EMAIL_ADDRESS.
As where used list only give me interface where this method is called and interface is called dynamically.

I think your question is more related to in another forum (HCM).
This is not a portal specific question, but more or less related to function modules and BADIs.
But maybe someone else can help you on this one. I think there is no list of applications that use GET_EMAIL_ADDRESS. As far as I can remember, the only application that sends emails in ESS/MSS is this teamoverview page.

Reports available in the Business Package for MSS and ESS

Hi,
I have searched sdn.sap.com throughout looking for a comprehensive list of reports available in the business packages for both MSS and ESS, i got a little bit of joy and found some of the MSS reports but not all on sdn.sap.com, can anyone please advise where i would find such information on both these packages, just to re-iterate, i am looking for a list of reports these business packages offer? any help much appreciated.

(1) ESS- We built our own custom PORTAL role/workset in which one of the worksets we created is called "Tools and Forms". Under that workset, we placed various pages/iViews that either are simple URL iViews that link to external documents and such (like vacation request forms since they do not do online leave requests yet) as well as a couple ot t-code iViews that run reports in ECC for the employee. Nothing very mind blowing there. Just some content creation on the portal side.....oh, and some config on the backend to create a Homepage Framework Area Page and all for it (I liked that part!)
(2) Wow....talk about perfect timing...I just had to document the way MSS sees the MDT reports in it's "reporting" area yesterday! haha Here goes the quick explaination....in configuration for MDT, you have various "scenarios". These kinda determine which "groups" of reports will show in MDT. For MSS for the Reporting webdynpro/service, the scenario is RPT0 (in ECC 5.0, at least). Soooo if you look at the function CODES assigned to RPT0, you will see several for Training and one for Accounting (Cost Centers)...you can reference the function CODES listed back to the "pool"/library of function codes a bit up/previous in the same config area for MDT(I think it is called "Define Function Codes"). However, there is one more piece you will see listed under RPT0....it is a DIRECT call to function MODULE "HR_HIS_READ" (this was a bugger to find because I could not find the "Maternity" report listed in the function codes and had to figure out where the heck it was coming from! haha). Anyways....what the function MODULE actually does is call the HR Information System (HIS) passing it the RPT0/MSS scenario. This returns the particular reports for Employee Data and Time&Attendance. You can see this if you run the HR_HIS_READ function directly and enter RPT0 for the second input value (first and third are not needed or you can just enter "*". Sooooo that is how the "magic" happens. Hope that explained it. From there, you can simply config you own scenario/reports to add into MSS if you like.

Developing 3rd party UWL Connectors for People soft system or other Java sy

Hi Everyone
We have one requirement that is u201CDeveloping 3rd party UWL Connectors for People soft system or other Java systemu201D and get the workflows from those system and display in portal though UWL.
We used u201CUWL Custom Connector APIu201D and written all the required methods.
Could any one help us u201CWhere can we specify the 3rd party system details?u201D
If possible please send some sample coding for it.

Hi Satya!
Like the default SAP backend UWL connectory your 3rd-party connector should make use of a PCD System Object. This system is a mere java component with nothing more than a portalapp.xml defining all the system properties.
Create a system in the portal system landscape based on the System PAR you depoyed.
For every UWL connector you create in portal you define a system alias. This alias has to match the one of your new system object.
And now for the sad part: I didn't find any clue yet about how to access the system from a custom UWL connector. The system alias is available in the method getItems(), but no hint whatsoever how to get the system object to the alias.
I'm still investigating this, since i'm exactly at this point.

UWL Workflow for Purchase creation and Requisition

Hello Friends,
Could you please help me on the following UWL configuration scenario?
1. Workflow process for purchase requisitions (create purchase requisition ME51N)
2. Workflow process for purchase orders (create purchase order ME21N)
For the above scenario, what need to be done in portal. I already established SSO, and other connectivity between portal 7.0 and SAP System.
For the above scenarios do we need to import any package into portal...like business packages?
Or will it work in UWL automatically? (I am not sure about this line...I am new to UWL)
Please help me on this.

U need to register the system with portal
Registering the SAP ECC system that will provide work items to UWL. For example, registering the system on which Business Workflow runs
Each SAP system that will provide work items must be registered as follows.
1.Navigate to System Administration  System Configuration  Universal Worklist and Workflow  Universal Worklist - Administration.
2.Choose the New button.
3.In the dialog box:
In System Alias, enter the system alias.
In Connector Type, select WebFlowConnector.
4.Choose Save to store the current configuration object.
Register Work Item Types:
The work item registration process involves identifying each system by its alias, and then generating the XML description of how to process the work item types to be received by UWL from each system.
1.Choose System Administration  System Configuration  Universal Worklist & Workflow  Universal WorkList - Administration. The system displays the iView titled Registration for item types of Universal Worklist Webflow. The system displays a list of system aliases for which the work item types are not yet registered.
2.Select Register Item Types for New Systems Only button.
Register Item Types for All Systems button is selected to perform the registration for all configured systems. Register Item Types for New Systems Only button is selected to perform registration for systems whose XML processing description has not been downloaded before.

Is UWL mandatory for Workflow ?

Hi ,
I am newbie to Worflow in EP.
I am able to see SBWP ( SAP Mail box ) in EP and some Work flow iviews (leave req,appraisal).
If i try to trigger Worflow from my leave req , i am getting the error msg " You are not one of the possible agents of the task" even tough it's a general task.
We haven't implemented KM / Collaboration.so is UWL mandatory for accessing WF in Portal ?

As far as i think u need to implement UWL for accessing workflow in portal. Without UWL u will be able to see the workflow iviews but u won't be able to do any work on that.

Perner have the chief position in organization structure that you can create in transaction PP01 and for relation ship infotype you have tio create 012 relationship.
Infotype 0105 with subtype System User Name must exist

Configuring PCR for MSS through ISR

I am starting from scratch, I have an understanding how ISR works, but need some document/wiki/pdf on understanding step by step on how to Configuring PCR for MSS through ISR and Adobe forms.
Basically I need to configure PCR scenarios in MSS in backend and then link them to adobe forms.

Minimum NWDI SP Level for MSS

Hi All,
I am currently getting 2 broken DCs in the CBS when creating a track for MSS. However, in my previous experiences everything worked fine. I do notice that the NWDI system is a few SP levels below the Portal J2EE SP Level. Thus, after failing to search up concrete causes of error, I am starting to wonder if the low NWDI SP level is the cause of my headaches. I remember that there is a minimum SP level for the portal J2EE, not sure if that applies to the NWDI system.
Is there a minimum NWDI SP Level requirement for MSS SCs? Perhaps there is a note that slipped through my research?
FYI, I am importing MSS 600 SP 12 into NWDI which is SP 12. CIM has been updated and SC Dependencies are synchronized with the SLD. All the required SCs are SP 16 because the portal is at SP16. PCUIGP is SP12 matching MSS.

This are my thoughts:
NWDI SP should not interfere with the CBS build.
New NWDI SP may be more stable or have a new feature, but it does not influence the result of the build.
Only versions of the SCs being built are involved.
Check the logs of the build.
You should be able to see exactly why component is marked as broken.
