UWL: Decision status

Hello everyone,
I've implemented UWL to process items generated by ESS Leave Request.
All working fine except for "Decision" after processing a task.
Status field giving me completed task but i'm not getting any info on this "Decision" field, and my test was to reject a leave request.
Any ideas on why this might be happening?!?

Thanks,
Mário

If  we integrate the R3 inbox with UWL , which ever the workitem u get it on Inbox would also appear on UWL. No more extar settings necessary.

  • Object visualization to open attachment link in UWL decision task workitems

    We are using Object Visualization (in t-code SWFVISU) to open an I-view when you click the attachment link in decision task workitems.  I sort of have this working.  My issue is that I need to pass parameters to the I-view.  I'm not sure how to do that.  I've seen some documentation on dynamic parms in SWFVISU (DYNPARM) but I don't see that option (maybe we are on an older version).  Maybe we can via XML files?  I've done Task visualization and edited xml files but I'm not sure if we can do similar code for object visualization.  Does anyone know how to do this?   Have any samples/documentation?
    Thanks,

  • UWL decision buttons are different in two portal systems sandbox and develp

    Hi All,  we are in the process of  implementing the UWL in ECC6, the decesion buttons to select in these systems differ they are not same;  in one system we see all buttons in other system
    some buttons are missing. however we have the same settings and configuration in both the systems. kindly advise me on this.
    Best Regards, Tom.

    Hi Surjit, Vijay: Thank you both for getting back to me,
    We have connected the same system (SAP ECC 6.0) in 2 portals (Portal 7.0 SP 14) and performed the same settings on both systems.To explain the issue Iu2019ll use an example: we launched a simple test workflow from SWU3. In one portal, in UWL Task Preview we see user decision buttons for this task: u2018Execute background step immediatelyu2019 and u2018Execute background step in a minuteu2019. However, we donu2019t see these buttons in the other portal and we did the same thing on both (we made sure that UWL iView settings as well as system definitions are the same on both portals, and simply registered the R3 system in UWL Admin; no change to automatically generated xml config file after register). We canu2019t figure out why these buttons show in one portal and we donu2019t know how to enable these user decision buttons to show on the other portal. Weu2019ve seen in documentation how to hide them (in iView settings), but no option to force them to display.
    Your help is greatly appreciated!
    Thank you,  Tom.

  • UWL Decision View - Does a Pop Up comes after bulk approval?

    Dear All,
    We are exploring the option of Implementing UWL with Decision Views, which allows for multiple work items to be approved or rejected in a single action. Does that Multiple Approval action asks for a second level "Confirmation" with a pop up, as it might be necessary to mitigate any unwanted Accidental approvals.?
    Please suggest..

    Typically, for Mass Approval in UWL, there will not be any confirmation screen. You would select all your decisions and click on the "Submit Decisions" button.
    If you would like to include a confirmation screen, you could possibly include that within your application - and launch the application upon clicking on a UWL item.
    Thanks,
    Shanti

  • Uwl Decision to Launch a bsp on EP7 SP12

    Hi All
    I need help with loading a bsp from a decision task in the uwl.  The decision task has two options.  A bsp is called in different modes depending on what depending on what option is selected.
    The decision task is TS9000159.  I have a display task TS9000159 and a change task TS9000160.
    I have created an xml file that launches the bsp for TS9000159 and TS9000160.
    So, I have a task in the uwl.  I click on the task and I get the Display(TS9000159) and Change(TS9000160) Buttons.
    When I click on display, nothing happens.  I get a "Successfull" message.  The task dissapears from my worklist and a few seconds later I get a new task.  If I select the new task then the bsp loads.
    Does anyone have any pointers on how I go about this ?
    Please let me know if i need to clarify anything..
    Thank you
    Darren

    Hi
    Can anyone help with this  ?
    Am I going about it the correct way by ?
    I have an item type entry in the uwl for each result of the decision task that laucnches the bsp.  Is this correct ?

  • Substitution in UWL from SPS12

    Hi,
    As SAP Mentioned that the User Substitution feature is availanle from SPS12 for KMC.
    And as per the note of UWL they says for details to refer the End User Guide.
    But there is no info about how to enable the substitution feature and also no clue in the Existing UWL Iviews.
    Did any one tried to do the Substitution feature enabling in the Latest Patch of UWL?

  • User decision history report, workflow summary log

    Hello SAP Workflow community,
    In our project there is a task to implement User Decision history/log management. I want to get programmatically (via ABAP, in order to be able to store this data in DB too) the history all user decisions (statuses of all User Decision work items) inside of specific workflow and send the summary report to the workflow initiator/workflow administrator upon the workflow completion.
    After some search I found the complete set of relevant function modules under SAP_WAPI_WORKITEM_*, where you can get detailed information per work item, including their statuses, but I'm not sure, that this is the best practice to implement such task.
    Of course, we can go «brute force» and built such log manually: to log each user decision and store it in multiline container and after that find some way to send it to the desired person. But I'm pretty sure, that there must be another way, should be some standard, SAP-provided way to build such summary report. Could you, please, point me to the relevant directions.
    The Bottom line is at the end of each workflow execution I want to send to workflow initiator the report with list of all User Decisions, their statuses (approved/declined) and username, who took the decision.
    Thanks.

    GOS->workflow->workflow overview should show the workflow log showing the status of the workflow until now (workitem name/start data & time/end date &time/decision/status/user name).
    Table swwwihead has the fields wi_cd (creation date) wi_aed (end date) and wi_aagent (actual agent)
    Table sww_wi2obj has the link to the object.
    Table swwloghist has the workitem history.
    You could use the way suggested by Karri, since the decision is hard to read directly. But for workflow reports,I usually use BW see Workflow reporting in BW – extractor improvements

  • UWL opening wrong tasks

    Hello Everyone,
    I'm having some problems with universal worklist.  The first problem I have is that some users are selecting Guided Procedures tasks but the new window displays a different task from the one selected (different Ids).
    The second problem I'm having is duplicate tasks in uwl.
    Can this problems be related to cache or portal performance?
    Thanks for your time and help
    Gerardo Arrambide

    Hi Pavan,
    thnaks for your answer. First i habe a question, what is FM?
    Here are more precise informationen regarding to my problem:
    The item in the UWL, created by the 3rd party app, is in the UWL with status new. I open the item from the UWL with the complete button. It appears in the 3rd party app. I wrote a ItemActionHandler. By opening the item the Status changes to Inprogress, because the action MARK_AS_READ is handled.
    The Action Complete is also handled, but it's never called. What i have to do in the UWL to get this Action?
    public ProviderStatus performAction(UWLContext context,
                                                      Item item,
                                                      Action action,
                                                      java.util.Map properties)
                                                      throws ConnectorException {
              String actionName = action.getName();
              item.setDescription("Action: " + actionName);
              if(Action.MARK_AS_READ.equals(actionName)){
                   // set Status
                   item.setStatus(StatusEnum.INPROGRESS);
              else if (Action.COMPLETE.equals(actionName)) {
                   //setStatus
                   item.setStatus(StatusEnum.COMPLETED);
              try {
                   pushChannel.updateItem(connector, context, item);
              } catch (UWLException e) {
                   // TODO Auto-generated catch block
                   e.printStackTrace();
              ProviderStatus  status = new ProviderStatus(true, null, Action.PROVIDER_ACTION_HANDLER);;
              return status;

  • XACML Authorization: Decision 'Indeterminate'

    Hi All,
    We have a Web Service management tool which does Authentication and Authorization for all the incoming WebService request.
    Authorization is based on the rules that are configured for the appropriate service.
    We also have XPath specification as part of rule configuration.
    We have a rule configured as mentioned below
    TestService authoized to the user of the particular group (TestGroup1) and XPath (\\com9:source[@VendorId='AB'])
    When we tried accessing the Test Service and received the following response despite of giving a valid user (TestUser1 belonging to TestGroup1) and the proper XML element [com9:source VendorId='AB'] in the request.
    <Response>
    <Result ResourceID="http://testHost:testPort/TestService">
    *<Decision>Indeterminate</Decision>*
    <Status>
    <StatusCode Value="urnasis:names:tc:xacml:1.0:status:processing-error"/>
    <StatusMessage>error in XPath: Prefix must resolve to a namespace: com9</StatusMessage>
    </Status>
    </Result>
    </Response>
    Xacml Authorization is done with the help of sunxacml.jar. API 'PDP.evaluate(RequestCtx)' is invoked and
    We got the above mentioned response. We came to know that the Decision 'Indeterminate' comes if any exception occurs during authorization.
    It would be very helpful if we get to know the rootcause of the decision 'Indeterminate' in the above mentioned scenario and the possible scenarios to get 'Indeterminate' decision.
    Thanks in advance,
    With regards,
    Priya.

    Found it! First, of course, there are conditions which already cover simple cases. For more elaborate authorization one can add new conditions by extending a java interface, as described here:
    http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-4675/6n6qfk0o3?a=view
    By writing a new xml-document you can add a new policy service with arbitrary methods. The process is described in the manual or here:
    http://developers.sun.com/identity/reference/techart/secureapps.html

  • Validation on Execution of workitem

    Hi all,
       I have  a scenario in which  a workitem with expense value 7000$ has  gone  for approval to manager1 in his UWL. Manager1 can approve expense upto 10000$ But when this  workitem  was  created Manager1 has  gone  on leave and  he has  substituted Manager2 for this approval. Manager2 has limit of approving expenses only upto 5000$.
      So what  I  want is  when this Manager 2 click on approval of this  workitem in his  UWL the  validation should happen  and it should  give Manager2 an Error message that ' 7000$ is higher  than your  approval limit' and workitem  should not get executed and should remain in Manager2 UWL so that  later when Manager1 comes Manager2 can  forward this workitem back to Manager1
       How  to  do this...should i  do this validation in my BO method then how to throw  error in UWL screen. else  if this validation is  to be done in JAVA or ABAP Webdynpro of UWL or  any other    way to achieve this...
    Thanks in advance..

    Michell,
    As mentionned by Pavan, you can use a program exit for this. Look at the decision step in your workflow, tab Program Exit. Since you need to add something there I suggest you do a copy of the standard wf and use that one instead of the standard directly
    There is a serious downside to this when using UWL however: the nice and sexy Java Webdynpro provided with the portal and used by default to handle decision tasks does not handle the program exits. That means you need to change the configuration of your UWL so that it calls the GUI decision screen instead of the WD.
    I faced exactly the same issue in the same process and copntext (i.e. travel management wf in UWL), and that's the only solution I found for this. The other possibilities are too far from the SAP standard functionality, i.e.
    - Changing the decision java WD
    - Creating a task (including an object method and maybe a WD or BSP application) on your own in which you integrate the check on the approval power, and in the workflow replace the standard decision by that task.
    I even opened a message to SAP support about the fact that their UWL decision WD does not support program exits. After months of frustrating discussions I have got the standard answer that "this works as designed". I have a development request opened at SAP since almost a year, with no feedback so far.
    Hope this helps. In any case, I would really appreciate if you could post here what solution you end up with.
    Thanks and regards,
    Patrick

  • TS50000075(Process Change Request (Web)

    Hi All,
    We have customized a standard PCR workflow WS50000031(2 level approval) based on our requirements, which is using another sub -workflow for approval step..
    The sub-workflow has a step for task TS50000075(Process Change Request (Web)).
    The problem is, the above workflow step creates an workitem which appears in SAP Inbox as well in UWL..
    When the item is processed from UWL it does not have any effect, but the item retains in the UWL with status 'In Process' as well in SAP inbox with status 'Reserved' and the workflow execution does not happen further.
    But, when it is done from Inbox, the item disappears and workflow execution continues..
    Please let me know how could I resolve this issue..
    Thanks & regards,

  • CM21 capacity leveling settings

    Hi,
    In CM21, is it possible to setup different colors for released  orders and created orders.
    Thanks in advance.

    Dear,
    Some settings in Customizing have to made to change the colors of operations or order depending on the status. Create a new object representation that must be entered in a new object representation selection via a modified decision table. Execute the query of the system status or the user status at order header level in the decision table using field AFKO-OBJNR. Field KBED-OBSTA can be used at operation level. The changes result in a new representation profile.
    Proceed as follows:
          1. Analyzing the used profile
                a) Go to the IMG structure for capacity requirements planning. Call your profile of the capacity planning table and note the following settings.
              o Choose 'Capacity leveling -> Capacity planning table -> Define profile for capacity planning table'.
              o Display your profile and take note of the following:
              o GraphObjectSele (Diagram section):
              o Repr.profile (Diagram section):
              o Group (Graphics profile):
              o Name (Graphics profile):
