UWL EP7

Hi there,
I would like help with the following:
In the SAP inbox there is a “folder” called Documents and Unread Documents. How can I bring this into the UWL in the portal EP7?
Many thanks in advance
Jo-lize

Hi Jo-Lize,
It sounds like you want the SAP Office Notifications Connector (SONiC). There is a forum thread <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/thread?threadID=222681">here</a> which you can use  to get to the download & documentation. You should subscribe to that thread to receive any updates about the connector.
All the best,
Darren

Some other information, maybe inportant and helpful.
Yesterday I wanted to fix tehe problem myself and I made reinstalation PS Elements 6.0 from my original CD.
    Nothing new! Doesn't work!
Than, I instaled this PS E 6.0 on the other computer. And .... the same error!
Its funny and interesting why it happens between 2013 & 2014 ?!

  • Remove Resubmit option in context menu of the task in UWL EP7

    Hi All
In EP7, the behaviour of the tasks has changed a lot.
when the task appeared in UWL,Clicking on the work items, the form is not getting opened up instead it is showing "Resubmit" option in context menu of the task.
For each task i need the corresponding iView to get opened up. This is how I have configured our uwl.webflow.<system_alias>.xml
How can we remove the Resubmit button and open the form for manager to submit?
I need to revert back to original functionality.
    Points will be rewarded

    Hi Christian
It seems that the par file  com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.ui has not been deployed properly.
As a workaround, kindly check the deployment by navigating to :
    \usr\sap\<sid>\<instance-id>\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.
    com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\pcd and \pcdContent
If you find any files with .err extension there, kindly remove the .err
    extension and add .bak extension.
    Then restart the J2EE engine.
    Hope it will work !!

  • UWL Default Tab

    Hi Folks,
Client has UWL (EP7/SP13)  configured. When a user clicks on the UWL link, UWL is displayed with the standard 4 tabs with the 'Alerts' tab selected which contains nothing. Since we are going to utilize UWL only for Workflow tasks, I used the Wizard to hide the "Alerts' and 'Notifications' tabs. Now when I navigate to UWL in the Portal, the 'Tasks' and 'Tracking' tabs are displayed with the 'Tasks' tab highlighted. However the task list is empty, though there are tasks to be displayed (seems as if the default is still the 'Alerts' tab which is empty) and is updated only when I click on 'Tasks' tab again. How can I make the 'Tasks' tab the default tab to be displayed with its contents when UWL is launched?
    TIA.
    Cheers,
    Ramki.

    Hi ,
In the UWL (EP7.0 / ECC6.0) , we click on the EmployeeTrip Attachment , and a new SAP window opens with the title " Display Object" and the only message in the window  is "Close Window".
We seems to have a problem, but I do not know where to start to look .

    Hi,
we have a guide called 'How to configure the universal worklist' but it's for ep6.0. Does anyone have a link to the document for ep7.0 ?
    thanks,
    Malcolm.

    <shameless plug>
There is a new book from SAP Press, [Universal Worklist with SAP NetWeaver Portal|http://www.sap-hefte.de/katalog/hefte/titel/gp/titelID-1516], which covers UWL with EP7.
    It's a great book - I should know, I wrote it...

  • UWL Wizard Not Working - EP7

Just wondering if anyone else has had this.  Message is out with SAP support too.
I'm being lazy and trying to use the wizard in EP7 (SP10) to remove tabs from the UWL.  However, when I go into:
Click to Configure Item Types and Customize Views Using a Wizard -> Customise the look of the UWL main page the screen does not display any tabs to be removed.
Has anyone has this screen working or has anyone had the same issue and got it working?
If I can't get it to work I'll just go back to the old hacking of the xml files.  just thought it would be neater to use the wizard.
    Thanks
    Paul

SAP Support came back with the answer.  You have probably got a few configurations in there already  - I had two which I think were added by the MSS business packages.
THerey are com.sap.pct.erp.mss.tra and another one.
Take a backup of these and then delete them.
    Then the wizard works.
    Then upload them again.
    Hope that helps

  • EP7.0 - How to configure UWL Mass Approval Column

    Hi All,
Any one of you know how can I configure the UWL with "Approve" and "Reject" column for ESS-Leave Request mass approval?
For example, the manager can perform the mass approval by clicking the "Approve" check box and click "submit" button from the UWL instead of approve one by one....
    We are using EP7.0
    Thanks!
    Best Regards,
    S.Y

    Hello SY,
This can be achieved using an xml config. The following document describes the config you need to do to achieve the decision (Mass Approval) view:

  • EP7, UWL, want to remove Manage Substitution Rules + Personalization

    Hi everyone
Max points to the person who comes up with the workable answer!!
Have upgraded from EP6 to EP7. Want to switch off personalize and
manage substitution from the drop down list displayed in the main UWL
view. Have looked at Content Admin => Portal Content => Content
provided by SAP => End User Content => Standard Portal Users => IViews
    => <the UWL iview> => Object => show personalize option / disable
substitution profiles => set to off. But the two options can still be
selected from the dropdown. Anyone have any idea how to fix this?
    Kind regards

  • How to migrate UWL from EP6 to EP7

    Hello,
We want to migrate UWL from EP6 to EP7. Is enough task to transport the customize XML file that is located in UWL?
Is it necessary to upload to EP7 the rest of attached documents? How?
    Thanks,
    Marta.

Just install the same way you did originally.  Download/install the desktop application, sign in, install the subscription application(s).  You are allowed to have two working installations so you can keep the original intact if you like.  If you prefer not to then you should sign out of the old installation as a minimum.

  • UWL behavior in EP7 SP9...Please guide

    Hello All,
Has anyone configured UWL on EP7 SP9?
I have configured UWL but facing one issue like - when manager approves/reject any task or item, the UWL does not refresh automatically.
Does the version force UWL to be refreshed manually, unlike in EP6 where it happened automatically.
    Also please let me know:
    1. What is he default executionMode - pessimistic or optimistic?
The standard UWL configuration xml includes pessimistic for some tasks and for some its value 'default'
    2. In case I have to change the GuiType to WebGui (over WinGui), where all do I need to reflect the change?
    Awaiting Reply.
    Thanks,
    Ritu

    Hi
navigate to  "Optional Universal Worklist Service Configuration"
if u navigate from system administration --- sys configuration -
    universal worklist and workflow -
universal worklist administration --- then open the tray of "Optional Universal Worklist Service Configuration"
there u select the default execution mode as pessimistic or optimistic.
If described in xml i .e default execution mode : pessimistic then this setting is valid only for that particular code area.
    regards,
    vijay.

    (Connector) :com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.connect.ConnectorException:Wed Oct 24 06:35:27 BST 2007
(Connector) :com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception:Connect to SAP gateway failed
    Connect_PM  TYPE=A ASHOST=<apphostname> SYSNR=01 GWHOST=<apphostname> GWSERV=3201 PCS=1
    no SAP ErrInfo available
And I get the following error messages in the server.log:
Warning#1#com.sap.portal.connectors.R3#Plain###Failed in creating the JCO Connection. #
Error#1#com.sap.portal.connectors.R3#Plain###(R3/BW) Failed to get connection. Please contact your admin. #
The System is configured correctly, it's already being used for the ESS & MSS Business Packages with no problems. I can create SAP Transaction iviews with it and all works fine. I am logged in with a user that exists in the backend (and has SAP_ALL) but still it won't work... Can anyone help??
    Many thanks
    Jane

Found it... in my System the Gateway Service had been set to 3201 (rather than 3301)... this hadn't affected anything else up to now apart from the UWL.
