UWL Iview launch issue

Hi,
We have customize a task in the UWL when a user click on the task, it open an ITS iview in the same window. For some reason and specific users, when they click the same iview, it open an SAP transaction. I have deleted all my config and re-imported the XML, but i still get the same issue. If you have any suggestions, that would be great.

Resolved,
when you have the accessibility feature turn on for a userID, it does not take the XML config.
I will check the XML to see if there is any option for the accessibility feature.

Issue with Refresh link avaiable in standard UWL iView

Hi All,
We have added the custom column "Comment" in the Tasks tab of UWL iView.In the Tasks tab we can view some rows in the table.When we click on one row it is opening the ABAP ADOBe forms.In this Form when we change the text for the field Comment and click on save button in adobe form then we can see the new text in SWI1 tcode for the work item id. But in portal the new text is not appearing in the custom comment column.If we click on Refresh link (this link is the standard link available in UWL iview) also the new text is not appearing.
After clearing UWL Cashe from System Admin role after that we can able to see the new text in the comment column.
If in Adobe form after changing the text we click on Check and Send button then on portal UWL automatically new text is appearing in commnet column.In this case no UWL cacshe release is required.

Can you please provide me the inputs why refersh link is not working to show the updated /modifiedd text in the comment column?

I wanted to know what is the Difference between these two portal paths? Which Property is Controlling the Portal Frame work page for these Popup's.
And also How to give the path in the Portal-app.xml [ property name ="xxx" , value = "pcd:portal_content/----
While we retrive with profile.getProperty(" xxx ").
Please Specify any prefixes we need to mention in the Portal-app.xml Value attribute ????
My Requirement is to task Information Popup Not to open with Portal FrameWork Pages (i.e wtih Masthead, TLN, DTN)

UWL - Item Launch Configuration

Hi Guys,
I'm trying to add a URL iView for a WorkItem in my UWL instead of the predefined SAP transaction.
To achieve this, I've referred the PDF "How to Configure the Universal Worklist (NW2004)" to change the Item Launch Action. But I'm facing couple of issues.
1. I can't find Personalization using which I can see the Item Type of a Workflow Item in my UWL.
2. I know the Task # of the Workflow Item task (which I found out from SWDD), I can't see the corresponding Action Definition for the same in the generated XML for UWL.
Should I directly add a node for my Item in the XML or is there any other way? If yes, then in which configuration I should add this - in uwl.webflow or uwl.webflow.mysystem. How can I upload the modified XML and replace the existing one?
Please share knowledge if anyone has done this before. Thanks in advance.

Follow these instructions:
SAP Business Workflow in UWL :
Step1. open the role to which you want to attach this UWL iview.
Step2.Choose Content Administration -> Portal Content -> Content Provided by SAP -> End User Content -> Standard Portal Users->Pages -> com.sap.km.pages folder.
Step3. under com.sap.km.pages folder you can see UniversalWorklist page.
Step4. Assign this page to the role you have already opened. Save and close.
Step5. Create the SAP System(System Object) in the System Landscape.
step6. Register the SAP System. 1. Navigate to System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Universal Worklist.
step7.Select UWL Systems Configuration. You see a list of Universal Worklist Webflow Systems.
i. Choose the New button.
ii. In the dialog box that appears:
iii In Name, enter the name of the system that is running Business Workflow.
iv In System Alias, enter the system alias.
v In Connector, select WebFlowConnector
save ok.
step8.Register Work Item Types
step9.Choose System Administration -> System Configuration -> Universal Work List Administration page.
Step10.Select Register Item Types for New Systems Only. your new system will be registered.
Now logoff and logon. you can see the workflow activated.
While registering work item types see that the user doing this is already created in the backend system.

Mdm uwl iview [(Item) Item is missing from the UWL persistent cache ]

Hi All,
we have a custom MDM repository, so I created the xml configuration file and uploaded into SAP system and clicked on "Register Item types" button and I am able to see that my items has been sucesfully registered.
Now I am using the UWL iview and when I view the connection status, it says that it is sucessfull for the backend MDM system. but i couldnt get the task that i created in the backend system for my user id. I checked the Uwl Log file, The error in the log file is
"com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.UWLException: (Item) Item is missing from the UWL persistent cache #"
Also the views that I mentioned in the XML configuration are not appearing in the UWL.
Could you please help me in resloving this issue.? any help?

UWL Iview getting 500 Internal Server Error

We have Uwl iview which is connected to R/3 system and its works fine. But if the user leaves the UWL session for more than 30 mins its get an message:
" Web dynproapplicatie 'UWL' past. Start application again. Launch iView again via "Refresh" in iview vak or knowp browser 'Refresh' "
Portal cookie is still active, User can navigate to other applications easily, I want to know why this message is appearing and how can we increase the duraction.?
Cache Value parameters under UWL service are:
Default Cache Validity Period, in Minutes:5
Timeout Value for the Connected Systems, in Seconds: * 30

Hey Parth,
check the note recommended by Ladislav i.e. 842635 and also check note 842878.
I would suggest you to check the backend system parameters about the session timeout related things through RZ10/RZ11.
The param is "rdisp/gui_auto_logout".
You can configure the HTTP session timeout using the web.xml descriptor. Session configuration u2013 Session timeout field.
You can get this file from the following location:
\usr\sap\<EP_SID>\j2ee\j2ee_01\cluster\server\services\servlet_jsp\work\jspTemp\irj\root\WEB-INF\web.xml
You have to restart your portal to ttake this effect.

i just joined organization, it has standard UWL. And in last oragnization i seen advance UWL which showing details of item, add note, attachment while approve n reject.
I am developer. n some where i seen advance UWL and BPM n MDM iview showing advance falicity of approve n reject.
Also seen in portal content about MDM UWL iView, BPM UWL iView.....
might be that was customized standard UWL iView....
n i think there are some xml file in mdm n bpm so we can show item in UWL list or to do customize UWL with .xml.
so my thing is there are any cotmization in MDM BPM .xml or standard so we can use that iview or xml instead of UWL standard UWL or .xml

If you need to get some BPM skills then try the BPM space itself or better yet the Process Orchestration space has the most recent materials by checking out the materials in http://scn.sap.com/community/process-orchestration
Apart from that the BPM forum can help you, but it's always best to post one question at a time.
Perhaps you could be clearer about what you are looking for?
Is it an approach to the process?
Is it how to call the backend system?
Is it how to work with the user interfaces?
Think about it carefully and then start a new discussion for each issue.

UWL Inbox Loading Issue

Hi,
When trying to login in Portal system, go to "My Work" then "Overview"
and "Inbox (UWL)", the page is stuck in the loading screen and keeps on loading.

Hi Lester!
Some checks would be useful in order to isolate why this is occuring:
1 - Try to see if the hanging also occurs when loading the UWL by previewing the following iview:
Content Administration -> Portal Content -> Content Provided by SAP -> End User Content -> Standard Portal Users -> iViews
-> com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.iviews -> Universal Worklist
If the issue also occurs, then check the following:
2 - Try to deactivate all the connectors registered within UWL.
You will find this under System Administration --> System Configuration --> Universal Worklist & workflow --> Universal
Worklist Administration. Click on "Deactivate" button for all the connectors and check if this resolves. Of course this is just to isolate if the issue has something to do with one of the connectors. Later on we would have to check what connector is causing that and also the reason for this.
If still the hanging is there after deactivating the connectors:
3 - Last but not least, I've checked that for UWLJWF component on 7.02 SP09 there exists one patch already provided, which contains some interesting notes. If you don't have it applied and in case it is possible for you, it would be worth applying this patch and checking if this helps.

Problem with UWL iView path now I corrected it and could see preview of uwl. I have identified few issue on this context -
One is, when I see the preview of sap given standard uwl page (content provided by sap -> end user content -> ....Universal worklist) I could see default view with 5 tabs, where as if I assign eu_role or eu_core_role to user then browse Home -> work -> Universal Worklist then I could see single tab named "Open Items" alone.
We are using sap standard configurations and no customization had done, and more over working on BPM so I have checked uwl.standard.xml & uwl.bpem.xml configuration files with Q system where UWL UI and functinality is working fine.
Here my question is, Is the problem with eu_role & eu_core_role..or how come in run time UI is changing.
Second one is, If I tried to check system connection by click on Display Connection Status at UWL page getting error - Page not found or not available I am not sure where to check this.
I assigned Process viewer as related link to uwl page, If I open that link getting error as No autorization and the same error even to see preview at iView level as well. usr having BPEM End user role.

Errors with UWL iViews

We're on EP 7, sp13. ever since we first installed ep7, we've been seeing errors on all the UWL iViews including the UWL administration iView (under System admin). Upon clicking the iView, i see "Portal Runtime error" and this is true for all users including admin users, i tried previewing the iViews from content admin but still got the same error msg.i retrieved the following from the logs via nwa:
Content pass of Application Integrator failed.
Component Name:       com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.WebDynpro,
Context Name (iView): pcd:portal_content/every_user/general/uwl/com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.uwlSapWebDynproLaunch,

i also referred to the below thread on the same issue:

but im really not sure what is the impact of deleting the .bak par file etc as mentioned in the thread above..

UWL and Launch task

hello guys,
we have plugged an UWL iview into the SAP EP 6 sp19.
a workflow is created on the backend. when we use the SBWP trasaction and run the WF task, a trasation is run in order to create a new material on the backend ...
whlie in the UWL the same task is not working .... a page is started when we click on Launch SAP task but this page prompt you to wait .... and never give back a result !!!!!
when a task works correctly into the SBWP ... do we hav to customize something on the portal side to make the same action working correctly ?
if yes could you drive me please, in order to make the "launch SAP task" button working correctly ?

Sorry for the late reply.
I have seen ur last post with screen shot 5.
Actually the screen 5 itself contains that wizard.
You will see four radio buttons in the bottom of the screen. This is the referred wizard.
Being EP6 the options are somewhat different.
You have to check all these four options.
After choosing right option and clicking the start button you will see similar options as i explained in my earlier reply.
I hope you will now be bale to solve it.

Action for workitem in subject of uwl iview is not working

UWL is configured in EP 7.0 and using ECC 6.0. when i click on the workitem under subject, the concerned action is not opening. instead it is opening the data which is displaying in detail area of the uwl iview.
there is no action mentioned for the task type in xml file.
anyone have faced this problem....

This sounds like the same issue that is described in SAP note 1319278, apply the recommendations from the note and it should resolve the issue.

Can I force UWL iview to get the updated task items when first visit

Hi all:
We are implementing EP7 on aix. Currently UWL iView will not display the updated items when first click on. Only when I click on the tasks tab, it will display the updated items. I change set keepItemCountUpdated tag to Yes, but it doesnot work.
Can we force the UWL iview to connect to backend to get the updated items when it is first launch ?

Have a look at the properties of the UWL iView, for example "Wait duration before calling providers on loading of UWL" and similar properties.
You could try setting these to lower numbers to hurry up the initial update.......
