UWL- SAP workitems not visible. ( Leave requests )

Hi All
I am trying to configure UWL so that all leave requests from employee (ESS user) come and sit in the UWL iview of manager in Portal. I am able to get it in Business Workplace in SAP and able to execute the same. But i want the same to be made avaailable in Portal. I have configured the UWL as per documentation and can see the Tasks in the UWL XML on portal but the tasks dont show up in the UWL iview.
Can some one provide a guidance on the same
Regards
PN

thanks Holger,
I had got the same reply from SAP as this seems to be the functionality.
I have some issues though with the Authorisations
I am using ws20000081, ws01000109 transactions for Leave Request and Leave Request Overview.
I am not able to see the Approver name in <b>Approver</b> column in "Create Leave Request" transaction. If i give SAP_ALL, then the Superior name as per the Org strucuture appears in the Approver Column in the service.
Also, the replace button functionality doesnt seem to work. It only shows the Superiors name, I cannot assign any other name where the end user can send the approval if the immediate superior is absent
Appreciate your help

  • UWL workitems not visible

    Hi Champs,
In our landscape there are many ECC systems (HR, SRM, ERec) and UWL is configured on a consumer portal which connects to these ECC systems and extracts the workitems. Now workitems from HR and ERec system are visible but no SRM workitems are visible in portal. It was working fine earlier.
We have done the following checks:
    1. UWL configuration.
    2. Re-registered the system.
    3. Checked the RFC destinations and the connection is successful.
    4. Workitems are present in SRM system.
    5. Connection status doesnt not show any error.
It was working fine until we changed the timeout parameter and restrated the SRM system.
ps: the user has more than 700 workitems in his inbox, would that cause any problem?

We are trying to implementing SAP Fiori app for SAP File Lifecycle Management. We are on SAP UI Version 1.22.6
The problem I am facing is that the tile realted to SAP File lifecycle management doesn't show up in my launchpad.
Could someone please assist me regarding displaying App's in Launchpad?
    Thank you

    Hi Gordan and Christoph,
thanks for your help. Now the CCM-Link is visible but there are no categories and items visible. I have already assigned the items to the relevant view and the view is assigned to the relevant role. The only thing is that the view has only a description in the original language. If this could be the problem can you please tell me where I could maintain the description of the view? I see only the option to create a new one or to delete the old one.

  • XCelsius :: Connections For SAP / QAWS not visible in toolbar.

I have installed BO Edge / SAP BO Integrator and Xcelcius 2008 in that order. I have also connected SAP systems with BO and have created universerse and Queries using QAWS.
But I cannot see buttons for SAP and QAWS on Xcelsius screen. Whats could be the reason. If it is because of the order installation (Integrator installed before Xcelsius) please can you suggest a way to make Xcelsius aware of Intergrator apart from uninstalling and installing back?
    All help appreciated.

  • ESS/MSS: Approve Leave Request in UWL - not working

    Hi to all,
we are using web dynpro ESS/ MSS (SAPESS07_12/ SAPMSS07_4) in portal NW04s for mySAP ERP2005 and are using UWL in order to approve leave requests. If employees are creating leave requests, everything works fine. After that the manager opens the leave request in UWL, the web dynpro application is openening succesfully and after some clicks he reaches the buttons to approve or reject the leave request. But by pushing one of them the following messages occures :
    <b>Workitem 000000000000 Cannot be read</b>
After pushing the button again, another message comes up:
<b>No Customizing for status typ ARQ, Status approved...</b>
By the way, the same errors also come up when the employee wants to delete his leave request which is not approved.
Any ideas, what can be the reason?
    Regards,
    Frank

    Hi Ashutosh,
I have found the reason. The user <b>WF - Batch</b> in sap erp, which is using the RFC Destination for workflow, was locked. Well, it is a a little bit strange for a cummunication user that he becomes locked. Unlocked him, now all works.
    Thanks for your support.
    Regards,
    Frank

  • UWL Leave Request Approval and Page Not Found

    Hello Everyone,
We are in the process of implementing leave request with EP 70 ECC 6.0 and I am trying to implement the approval portion in the UWL.  The workflow is appearing correctly in the UWL; however, when I click on the request in the UWL, I get a pop up with an error message that has "Page Not Found or Not Available."  Does anyone know what could be causing this?  I have read some of the other messages and transaction SWFVISU has been mentioned, but I am not sure how to set this up or if this would even resolve my problem.
Also, one of the reasons I have decided to go the UWL route is because the Leave Request Approval Web Dynpro has too many steps.  Our users will not like having to click Approve, then Review, then  Approve Request.  If set up correctly, would the UWL have this many steps?  I would imagine so if it is calling the same Web Dynpro, but I thought I would ask.  Ideally I would like to have our Approvers select the Leave then choose approve and that be all they do.
Please let me know what you think.
    Best Regards,
    Scott

    Dear Scott,
I am having this problem as well.
I did 2 things to fix this problem.
Firstly, please go to SWFVISU and check the visualization parameter for the below task.
    TS12300097
    TS12300104
    TS12300116
Make sure it is package value is sap.com/ess~lea. It is not com.sap. Then re-register your UWL and it should be workin.
Let me know if it still does not and you may need to check your WAS setting.
    Rewards point if useful

  • ESS Leave Request - creating a Leave Request for another employee

    Hi,
    We're working on ECC6 + EP7 + ESS/MSS Leave Request scenario
and we've a problem about "substitution". Not the substitution for dealing with somebody else workitems in UWL, but "substitution" for "acting" like somebody else.
We want to authorize an assistant to enter a leave request in place of an other employee.
as if this assistant were connected in ESS/LaavRequest with the user of the employee.
To explain, in 46c/ITS620, our scenario was the following :
    - We modified the SAP standard internet service Leave Request to add a combo box, so when the assistant connected to the ITS page with her user, she had a list of all employees.
    - we modified the SAP standard to change the variables containing the connected user information, so the creation of an absence request was made for the user selected in the list.
We want to keep this possibility in the new ESS.
Any idea if something exists in the SAP standard ?
    Thanks

This scenario is not available in ESS, ie This kind of functionality is not available from ESS
But you can achieve it using your added link In MSS > General information
there you have many services for individual employees

  • Leave request in ESS problem

    hi there,
we are planning to use ESS 'leave request' in our portal for users to enter their leave requests for holiday, illness, etc.....
we will have about 1200 users, but there is a big problem:
for some of the leave request-types like illness (and others) it is not possible that the user himself enters this information. so a reponsible person for the area (e.g. a secretary or someone else) have to enter the leave request for the other person. e.g. when the person is ill: the request for it MUST be entered the first day of the illness ! and the employee can't do it on his own, because he is of course ill and not at work.
is there a solution in ESS (SAP Netweaver 2004s 7.00, with backend HR ECC 6.0) ? i cant find anything. it is only possible to enter the OWN leave requests for the user which is logged on into the portal.
    b. reg, Martin

    Martin,
we have about 1200 employees here ! Illness (and other absence) MUST be entered by other persons then the employee himself. CATS is not working with that in ess-portal and also not the leave-request.
PA30 is an license-problem ! i can't allow users to use it............thats why we have a portal ! why should i let people enter leave-requests in the portal and other abscense in the backend ? thats a very bad thing ! very user-unfriendly !
    best reg, Martin

  • Leave request workitem in UWL status update issue

    Hello,
Once manager receives a workitem in their UWL for leave request, the status is NEW.
Now when manager click on that workitem..opens it and closes it without taking any action.
The status must change to "IN PROGRESS".
    This does not happen.
    Status remain as NEW.
We do not have any issue once Leave is approved or rejected. Workitem gets disappeared appropriately.
Please help me in resolving this issue.

    Hello Lukas,
    We are on EHP4.
And it uses Java based applications.
Now can you please check in you machine the very same scenario.
Instead of looking at the senders UWL, have a look at the managers UWL.
Where status is displayed as "New".
Open the workitem and close it withpout taking any action.
Then manually refresh your UWL and observe the status. Is it "New" or "In progress".
However we have just recieved a reply from SAP that it is a standard behaviour. And status would remain as New if no action is taken.
But still I am not convinced. As if you open that workitem from Backend Inbox. The status in UWL in portal changes to "In Progress" !
    Strange.

  • Leave Request - Not Appearing in UWL

    Hi,
I am facing a problem with the leave request not showing up in the manager's uwl.  Under ess user, I am able to submit the leave request and it has a status of 'sent' in RPTARQDBVIEW.  The workflow status shows as 'started'.  When I select the work item and check the workflow log, under the 'view:workflow agents' tab it shows 'work item reserved' for the mss_user. I'm not sure if this correct.  Does anyone know why it would show 'work item reserved'?  In the workflow, it stops just before the 'Process Request' step.
I verified that all tasks are set as general tasks.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what else to check? Please help.
    Regards,
    Brian

    Hi:
We transported our ESS/MSS changes from the DEV client to STG client.  I have verifiied the follwoing settings in STG:
    1) SWU3 - all connections are green.
    2) Workflow template and tasks - all are assigned as general task with agents assigned
    3) Configuration in SAP contains the correct WF template for leave processing
    4) UWL has been regenerated
I am able to submit a leave request under ESS user.  I check workflow and it shows leave has been submitted and waiting for Manager to approve step.
However, under MSS user the leave request is not showing up in the UWL.  All configuration on backend and the items noted above have been verified.
Is there configuration or a connection on the portal side that I need to check? Or anywhere else?  Any input would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Brian

  • Leave Request Not Appearing in UWL for Manager

    Hi,
We have a strange issue where leave requests are not appearing in the UWL for a specific manager.  We have checked with other managers and the leaves are appearing in their UWLs and they are able to process their employee's leaves without any issue.
For the manager not seeing the leave in their UWL, I have confirmed the following:
    1) Proper manager defaults in 'approver' field in ESS and employee is able to send leave request without issue
    2) Manager receives email to process employees leave request after RPTARQEMAIL program runs
    3) Leave is reaching the manager's business workplace in R/3 so this verifies workflow is working and the leave is being directed to proper manager for approval
    4) Proper roles have been assigned to manager and verified in PRD
*Also, the leaves were appearing in the manager's UWL at one point but no longer appearing.  This makes it more confusing!
Does anyone have any suggestions/ideas as to what may have happened?
Any feedback would be greatly appreicated!
    Regards,
    Brian

I ahve modified standard workflow for leave WS12300111 . I have 2 levels of approval . The step which goes to approver is standard task TS12300097 which is calling DUMMY method of CL_PT_REQ_WF_ATTRIBS class .
Now my problem is suppose 100 people have applied for the leave after managers approval it workitem will go to HR . So in HR's UWL he/she will have 100 workitem . Now supose HR clicks on first workitem in by logging in to ESS . when HR clicks on pop-up comes on the top it has one table sort of thing , here all the 100 leave request r getting diplayed .
<b>I want Table to dislay only the Leave request of an employee belonging to That workitem.</b> Please help in this regard .
    Thank you.
    Raghavendra.

You will need to modify the UWL XML file. There is a document titled "How to Configure teh Universal Worklist" on service.sap.com you can use to achieve this. Read the section titled Step by Step Decision views.
    Cheers
