UWL Tasks Tab don't appear

Hello.
I have a problem. I have made all settings for UWL for MDM Portal iViews but (according "How To Work with UWL and MDM
Workflows in the Portal" document) but I can't see Tasks Tub on my mdm portal page. May be I have missed smth?

Since upgrade to v29, pinned tabs don't appear and sometimes all tabs don't appear and open menu button does not work

My pinned tabs don't appear at any start and at some starts, I don't see the bookmarks toolbar (I can restore that by removing it from view-toolbars and then reselecting it). when this happens, FF also does not show any tabs and the Menu button does not work.
I have tried various suggestions found on here like deleting the sessionstore.js and re-installing FF, also tried disabling hardware acceleration in safe mode and still have the same problems.
Am reluctant to reset FF in case I lose my favourites and Bookmarks, is there anything else I can try?

Firefox may not have closed properly.<br />
You can try to update to Firefox 29.0.1 to be released tomorrow (Friday) to see if that helps with this issue.

Layout option doesn't work in Easy Print VI panel, controls on tabs don't appear

Found two problems with the Report Generation VIs:
1) In the (Report Generation) Easy Print VI Panel or Documentation.vi, the Layout options don't work (dug down into the sub-VI's and found that they are not connected to anything).
2) If you have controls or indicators on a Tab Control, and try to use the Easy Print VI Panel or Documentation.vi with the option to include controls in the report, they don't appear. The only controls/indicators that do appear are the ones that are displayed on all of the tabs (ie, create an control and move it on top of the tab control so that it appears on every page). There is a sub-VI (Expand_control_ref_with_nested_controls.vi) that is called to handle nested controls (ie, clusters, arrays,etc...) but it should have a case to handle tab controls.

Digging into the Sub-VI's you are correct in saying that the Layout Options user input is not connected to anything for most cases. However, In the default case of "Quick Print" the Layout Options are used to modify the layout of the report. In the help for this VI, it mentions that this input is ignored for "Standard Reports" and "HTML" report options. However, it does not mention that this ignoring of the Layout Options is expected for "Word" or "Excel" reports.
In terms of including controls and indicators in the report that appear on tab controls, I can make a product suggestion to make this sort of front panel design more compatible with the Easy Print VI Panel or Documentation.

UWL : Tasks tab auto load

My UWL is customized to show up Tasks as my first tab however, I am having to click on the Tasks tab to pull all tasks from backend. The users shouldn't have to do this or click refresh. They expect to see Tasks when they go to this page. How is this achived?

Hi Winston,
You need to configure UWL Delta Pull Auto Refresh. This is an optional configuration to optimize the performance and user doesnt need to refresh every time. You can set up the Delta Job for 1-3 mins.
Define ECC Background jobs -
● Background job (for example UWL_DELTA_PULL_1), consisting of a single step of ABAP report RSWNUWLSEL in FULL mode, using a report variant. Run the job once a day.
● A background job (for example UWL_DELTA_PULL_2), consisting of a single step of ABAP report RSWNUWLSEL in DELTA mode (default mode is delta, so report variant is optional). Run the job every one to three minutes (depending on the performance of the back end SAP system).

From Value in Tasks Tab in UWL

Hi All,
We are using UWL for approving of requests in MSS.
Currently employees initiates a form and submits for the approval. Request comes and sits in the UWL.
Now in the UWL Tasks tab From Column is filled with Intiator of the form.
I want to know from where this column is filled can we change the value of this column?
im using Task TS17900100 for approving the request.
Please let me know.

Hi,
The From column is the user who created the work item. In your case it is the actual user who submitted the form. In some other cases it might be user WF-BATCH (the workflow system user). You cannot really change the value. If you want something else there, you are able to create your own from (or whatever) column and fill it according to your requirements - anyhow this might require some development/configuration both in portal (UWL configuration) and in backend (you might need to add a new container element (that would include the data) to the task.

Tasks tab appear first on the UWL iView

We have the Alerts, Tasks, Notifications and Tracking Tabs on the UWL iView in the same order. Now I would like the<i> Tasks tab appear as the first column instead of the Alerts.</i>

Adding custom columns to the tasks tab in UWL

Hi Experts,
We have UWL configured for GP in CE 7.1.
Currently we have standard columns like Subject, From, Sent Date etc. only
I need to add some columns like Project No., Customer No.(GP parameters) to the 'Tasks' tab in it.
These columns are required for all the Work items that appear in UWL.
I have read about adding custom view for a specific task , but not sure how it can be done in my case.
Kindly provide inputs for this.

i have posted exactly the same problem a few months ago, and no one answered me.
I couldn't find any documentation on how to add custom GP parameters in the universal worklist, in the examples on customizing the UWL XML they always refer to parameters from the r/3 webflow, never GP.
I really can't believe that nobody ever tried to do this and faced this problem!

UWL task takes up to 2 minutes to appear

Hi there,
We have a situation where the UWL task takes between 1 minute and 2 minuts to appear in the user's inbox. in our analysis we have found that the task is created immediatly in the business process but it set with an inactive status. After a period of time the task status changes to Ready and the task appears in the users UWL.
We are using NW 7.2 SP3. The task is using WD for Java UI and the "Activate this task by default when creating it" is set in the time constraints. No other time constraints have been set.

Error in executing process from the UWL task list

Hi,
I have created a process and assigned different users to different steps. For administrator, Overseer and Owner, i have kept role as initiator only. For the actions of the process, set the value as Initiation defined and in Default Roles tab, have assigned different users to each of the actions. From the URL generated on instantiation, i created a web dynpro iview and assigned it to a role R.
The UWL has also been configured. The initiator of the process is assigned the role R.
Now the issues are:
1. When the process initiator opens this role R, an error is displayed " Page not found or not available", but the process gets initiated since an entry for the same is made in the UWL task list.
2. Even when I click on the task entry in the UWL task list, i get the same error message.
3. Presently if i click on the role R, then only entry is displayed in the UEL task list. Is there a way in which task may automatically appear in the task list of the initiator of the process without him/her having to click the role and then initiate?
I am not able to figure out why this is happening. Can anyone please help me in this regard.

Are you downloading these directly to the iPad or syncing them? They should appear in the Music App in the "More" category at the bottom which I think you realize from the wording of your question. If they were synced to the iPad - try it again - check and make sure that you have the podcasts selected to sync in the iTunes podcasts tab.
You can always try the basics.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Quit the Music app and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit the app by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on the Music app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad.
@rmlysik - Podcasts never appeared in iTunes on the iPad - iTunes on the iPad is where you purchase content - it is not a media player - unless there is something about iTunesU podcasts that I am not aware of.
Podcasts typically would be found in the Music App or in the Videos App if they are video podcasts.

Can someone download this PDF and let me know why the jpg images appear fine when viewing with desktop browser, but some images in the same document don't appear when viewing in Safari on the iPhone? Vector artwork and text show fine. Shows white space where JPGs should be.

I just heard about this day before yesterday at the InDesign Print and ePublishing Conference in Washington, DC. When using display on an iOS device JPEG 2000 is not supported. There are two flavors of JPEG: JPEG & JPEG 2000.

If I go to page 1 and 4 in your PDF and use Output Preview in Acrobat Pro (in Acro 9 > Advanced Print Production > Output Preview). Click on the Object Inspector tab and click on the image. It uses a JPEG 2000 filter.
Since I don't know how the image was created and saved, I'll leave it to you to resave it as normal JPEG.

If you've never used them before (they are new) then they are not formatted for Macs.
Drive Partition and Format
1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Apply button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Security button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
When you want to remove an external device you must Eject it:
First, select the Desktop icon of the external disk. CTRL- or RIGHT-click and select Eject from the context menu.

Email Notifications for UWL Tasks and Collaboration Tasks

I want to configure Email Notifications for both UWL Tasks and Collaboration Tasks.
I done with the all the Configurations suggested in the below link:

.m4r files sync but don't appear AND outlook contacts won't add to iphone?

hi guys,
This is my first post, made just a day after I got my iphone.
Now don't get me wrong, i love the iphone, but i'm worried i might have to send it back due to 2 glitches:
1) I exported all my contacts onto my computer from my old k800i, then imported them into contacts on outlook. Then I synced my iphone to outlook through itunes and it appears to be doing something on the itunes bar only for me to open my phone when it's done and the contact list is empty. It's synced the calender and itunes music thought.
2) I sent some ringtones to my friend who has a mac (I have a PC) and he changed them to .m4r files on that garage program on the mac, then he sent them back, i dragged them into the ringtone folder and they appeared. I went on itunes and they appear in the iphone tone menu, i sync with the actual phone and after saying it's done they don't appear in the tone menu on the phone.
That's 2 annoying things, do I need to send it back?

On the File tab, click Options.
Select Advanced in the Outlook Options dialog box.
In the Reminders section, select Show reminders.
Click OK.
