V (2010) - S1 on BT Vision

Hey all, just signed up only had BT V for about a week or so after moving house - we don't discuss that experience!
I'm in the process of watching "V (2010) S1" (It lives under TV/Warner TV) but some of the episodes seem to be missing. According to IMDB the first series of V has 12 episodes, BT Vision only has 10 of them available.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1307824/episodes
Can anyone shed any light on this situation please?
Cheers
Dimdom

Hi and welcome to the forum.
There are indeed twelve episodes to this re-imagined series. On Demand content on all the series available are added at a later date. Usually week to week.
Episodes 11 and 12 will appear sometime in the future.
If you really, really, want to know when, email the Mods and they will post this info on the forum.
Though why they can't post such detailed info on the Vision website is beyond me. That kind of info would be very useful.
Hope that helps.

  • Why doesnt installing the latest or even the Mar 2010 version of Machine Vison over LV 2010 SP1 not show up Imaqdx USB options

    I have LV 2010 SP1 developers package running on Windows XP. I wanted to add IMaQ to it and bought that option also just a few days ago. I tried installing both the 2010 version of IMaQ, IMaqdx (Machine Vision March 2010) as well as the latest version of IMaQ from the DVD (I understand from the compatibility charts, this is not an issue). Whatever I do, I dont see IMaqdx USB communication icons in the Vison and Motion functions. I tried using example programs as well as the existing camera controls in the NI-IMaqdx but there is a communication error. On the other hand, when I open an evaluation version of machine vision 2012, I can see this USB camera and communicate with it. I tried downloading the USB_graphics file listed and extracting it with the /x option which also didnt work. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to communicate with this USB camera ? I can try using a firewire camera but I wanted the option of several cameras hooked up to this computer. Thanks.

    Hi there,
    So to investigate this issue, we usually want to check if the camera works in Measurement & Automation Explorer first. This is the software that confirms that hardware is working with NI's drivers. You can open it by going to Start >> Program Files >> National Instruments >> Measurement & Automation Explorer.
    Then, expand My System >> Devices & Interfaces >> NI-IMAQdx Devices, and then you should see your USB camera. Confirm that you can "Snap" and "Grab" here.
    The other thing I can think of is that the March 2010 version of Machine Vision came out a year before LabVIEW 2010 SP1. Do you know what the CD has on it?

    hi again, i have some problem with install Vision Run-Time Engine
    must i install RTE with the Serial Number, or i can chose the "install this product for evaluation" to continue the installing, maybe active it later. But after i chosed "install this product for evaluation" and finish the installing, i still cant find RTE from my disk.

  • Listbox one line at a time

    I want to add one line at a time in listbox/textbox just like InsertTextboxLine funtion in CVI. I can not find similar VI in labview. I think I can do it long way...by saving listbox to an array then append my line at the end of the array and send updated array to listbox..these are lot of steps to add one line to listbox/textbox...
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Actually, the way to append an item to a list box is to create an Item Names property node for the list box.  Then you can use Insert Into Array, and write to another property node for Item Names.

  • Import CVI instrument driver in 8.0

    I have CVI instrument driver which just has some c funstions and it does not communicate to any instrument.
    It always worked for me in 7.1.
    After getting 8.0 and I had to download and install LabVIEW Interface Generator for LabWindows-CVI. It did not work.
    I get following error.
    The following instrument driver VI(s) cannot be created. This may indicate that the function in the CVI function panel (.fp) file is not consistent with VXIpnp and IVI standards. For example, the function has user-defined data types or has a duplicate function name in the .fp file.
    But this works in 7.1.
    What do I have to select in Class group?
    Which step am I doing wrong?
    LabVIEW Interface Generator for LabWindows-CVI is different from 7.1's built in generator.

    Is there

  • Connecting extra monitor to DVI-I connection EVS 1464 (displaying Front Panel)

    Hi,
    Currently developing a Vision system using the following:
    LabVIEW 2010 SP1
    LabVIEW 2010 Real-Time SP1
    Vision Development 2010 SP1
    EVS 1464
    My question is:
    How can I display my front panel, running on the EVS, on a monitor connected to the DVI-I output of the EVS 1464?
    Thanks ahead!
    Roy
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Roy, I'm not sure if Hossein actually read that KB or not, but it deals with displaying the front panel over the network on a Windows machine, not out through the monitor connection on the EVS running LabVIEW RT.
    To answer your original question, no, it is not possible to view the standard LabVIEW front panel on the RT system today. All the code for displaying all the front panel UI buttons, controls, and indicators is simply not present in LabVIEW Real-Time and is only viewable on a seperate machine that is either running the development environment or using a web browser that has the LabVIEW plugin installed.
    Having a UI display on RT is certainly a requested feature and perhaps it might be available some day. You might want to check this request: http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW-Real-Time-Idea-Exchange/Real-time-display/idi-p/1391108 . It has some good ideas for what other alternatives exist today as well.
    However, this is one way to use the monitor output on the EVS and other LabVIEW RT systems. Vision Development Module includes RT Video Out VIs that can display any image on the connected monitor. You can either display images captured from cameras or custom images, as well as overlay text and simple graphic objects (lines, circles, rectangles, etc). It is certainly more effort than the normal front-panel editor in LabVIEW but it might be suitable for your needs if you want a few things to display. Of course you will have no mouse/keyboard so you cannot interact with any on-screen elements directly.

    Hello Sheetal,
    I wasn't able to reproduce the problem if I use char * instead of const char * in the function panel.  Were you able to do so?   Either way, when you initially convert your FP to LabVIEW code, you are asked to specify a DLL that contains the code associated with the function panel.  I would double check that the function prototype inside the DLL specified in the 'select a shared library or DLL'. is not set to int *.  When I used char * or const char * in my DLL, LabVIEW convert the parameter to be a CStr data type, which is the same as char *.

  • Simulate Acquisition does not include new image file created after first call

    For example, I have 5 images in a folder.
    I call Simulate Acquisition.
    It cycles through all 5 images.
    Now If I include 1 more image it does not include this image in the "cycle". I need to reload this step by clicking Main\path\browse button and select any image in the folder and then it cycles through all 6 images.
    Is there anyway to automatically include new images added to the folder after the step has been created?

    Here's a sample inspection and VI to illustrate how you could do this. I used an image variable and passed this into the Run LV step so the VI could read the file and update the image variable and then I used the Select Image step to get the image variable into the VBAI script so you can process it. I also added a delete option in the VI so you can delete the previous image when you read the next available image. Make sure to go to the Setup State and initialize the path variable to where your image files will live (to access the Setup State, go to View>>View Complete Inspection and select on the Setup option on the left hand side. I initialized it to c:\Image Folder
    Hope this helps,

    Sheetal,
    The output of that express vis is of dynamic data type. You need to convert it to a waveform (use the "from ddt.vi") which will then give you the waveform data type. You can then use the "Get Waveform components" to access the "Y" array data.

  • Installer 2011DS1: hand crafted disk labels for compatibility checks?

    I have a problem with the installer of Labview 2011 DS1in combination with Vision. I want to create an installer for an application that uses vision and therefore selected the additional installers "NI Vision Common Resources 2010 SP1" and "NI Vision Run-Time Engine 2010 SP1". The assistant then asks for the disk "NI Developer Suite 2011 DS1 - DVD 2". When I insert that disk the assistant complains
    "The disk you have provided is a different version of the requested disk.
    Disk Requested: NI Developer Suite 2011 DS1 - DVD 2
    Disk Provided: NI Developer Suite 2011 DS1 DVD 2
    It seems, a litte missing hyphen in the disk name prevents me from deploying my application. You could argue to simply choose another DVD containing the run time engine. This leads to an overwhelming list of disk alternatives one has to manually click through in order to find another variant of the installer. The assistant knows what installer is missing and obviously knows whether the selected disks contain this installer but it is unable to filter the list to show applicable alternatives only.
    After a lot of clicks, I found another disk containing the vision runtime. It is "NI Vision Developer Module 2010 SP 1" and when I insert a DVD that is labelled exacly the same, the assistant complains:
    "The disk you have provided is a valid installer, but it does not match the disk requested.
    Disk Requested: NI Vision Developer Module 2010 SP 1
    Disk Provided: VDM2010SP1DVD
    There is an alternative Disk that seems to have the same label as my DVD and so I selected "VDM2010SP1DVD", click "Yes" and of course get the error message I have attached. After that message, nothing else happens. At least no installer for my application is created.
    Is there any way to create an installer with Labview 2011 SP1? Could you please refrain from using obviously hand crafted disk labels for compatibility checks?
    With best regards

  • Calling CAT API from lavbiew

    hello,
    I have this CAT (CAN Analyzer Tool). (http://www.ime-actia.com/web_can/software/cat_api_driver.htm) and I using their API. I am having trouble with following API function. Can someone please help. I need to call this function from LV. Function is in their API dll.

    GetData0 = (tCATOnlineData0*)RecvBuffer;
    GetData0->LastTransferedObj.Dat.FrameInfo;
     and so on.........
    My question is how do I call this  CATIDLL_ReceiveOnlineData function in LV?
    Is it possible to do in LV?
    I have attached DLL and complete documentation for API. Please help.
    Here is help from DLL************************************************
    CATIDLL_ReceiveOnlineData
    The CATIDLL_ReceiveOnlineData function receives the online data from the CAT hardware board.
    int CATIDLL_ReceiveOnlineData(
      unsigned char** ppRecvBuffer,
      unsigned short* pObjNum
    Parameter
    ppRecvBuffer
    [out] Specifies the buffer for receiving the online data. You have only to specify the pointer. The memory will be allocated in this function internally.
    pObjNum
    [out] Specifies the number of received communication objects (PCATOBJ_GetLogObjs)
    Return Values
    If the function succeeds, the return value is CATI_OK. If the function fails the return value is defined in CATIERR.H
    Remarks
    Before you call this function, you have to call CATIDLL_RequestOnlineData.
    The buffer ppRecvBuffer will contain the communication objects if there are some data available in the online buffer on the CAT hardware board. The communication objects have a dynamic length and they are mapped one after the other in the buffer. The first byte of every communication object contains the length of the own object. So, if you want to get a pointer to the second communication object, you have to add the value of the first byte from the first communication object to the pointer of the first communication object. See 'CatiAPI DemoDlg.cpp' OnBUTTONGetOnlineData() for a reference implementation.
    Thanks.

    Hey Sheetal,
        With LabVIEW, you can import dlls by using the Call Library Function Node VI.  Here is a link that describes its use.  Also, you can use the import dll wizard.  Here is a link describing that functionality.  There's also a good KnowledgeBase article about using external code in LabVIEW, and it includes other links that may be of use to you with this issue.
    Yes but is that tool smart enough to handle this complex API? :-)
    This one is using double referenced pointers allocated in the function itself and I'm sure the person would very much like to reference the data in there too. This is going to be a pita to do all in LabVIEW and I doubt a tool will be able to handle that automatically. Personally I would write a C wrapper function to handle this translation into more LabVIEW friendly data structures.
    And Sheetal, you miss important information in your documentation. It is quite some guesswork as to how that function will fill in the character buffer with the data structures (the definition of the elements of the Log structure are nowhere defined), and even more so what data alignment it will use.
    It is certainly doable but with quite some work. You have to define both parameters as an uInt32 passed by reference and find out the exact byte length of the entire GetData0 structure (this is really handwork if you do not write some intermediate translation DLL) and then allocate a long enough byte buffer (IntializeArray function with type uInt8 and the length computed with the size of your data structure multiplied by the number returned in the second parameter of your function. The using MoveBlock as explained in some other threads copy the data from the first uInt32 that is really a pointer into the byte buffer you just allocated and then extract the data from the byte buffer.
    You could make it all a bit simpler in the runtime part by instead creating a cluster resembling your data object. But watch out LabVIEW uses byte packing while most DLLs use 8 byte alignement so yuo will likely need to add padding bytes in your structure to match the actual memory layout. Once you have the correct cluster you can just allocate an array of those clusters with the size indicated by the second parameter of your function and copy the data from the pointer into that array cluster with MovBlock and the computed byte size. This will avoid typecasting into the cluster later on and all the necessary byte swapping.

  • LoadLibrary error from dll

    I have created a dll in Labwindows CVI. In this dll I dynamically call another dll using LoadLibrary function. This dll works fine when I call in labwindows cvi but using labview I can't load dll using LoadLibrary function. Any idea why?
    for example;
    I have created mydll.dll in cvi.
    In mydll.dll I have code like this
        dll_handle = LoadLibrary ("LIB2.dll");
        if(dll_handle == NULL)
         MessagePopup ("ERROR", "LIB2.DLL Load Error");
         return -49;
    using labwindows I can call mydll.dll and it successfully loads LIB2.dll.
    When I call mydll.dll in labview  dll_handle is null. another words it couldn't load LIB2.dll using SDK LoadLibrary function.

    Sheetal,
    I'm wondering if there isn't something strange going on with your driver. Once LabVIEW is shut down, it releases all references to the hardware. One thing I'd be interested in seeing is if Windows Sound Recorder (Start>>Programs>>Entertainment) also registers a lower amplitude after that period of time (60 min). Also once the LabVIEW programming has been running and the amplitude decreases, what happens if you shut down LabVIEW and open Sound Recorder? Do you still see the lower amplitude?
