V Ram failing Hardware test with error 2NVD/1/4:2122

Hello,
I have been using my Mac now for just over a year now, it was a wonderful birthday present last October. I have had zero problems until now.
Red wavey lines started to appear on the screen on and off for 2 - 3 minutes and then the Mac asked me to restart, after restarting the wavey red lines were constantly on the screen but it would not get to the login screen. I ran a hardware test which when reaching VRAM told me the above error code.
Does anyone know how this can be fixed at all? or had a simelar problem?
Thanks

Hi,
I'm sort of in the same situation as you. Purchased my powerbook last july. Has worked like a charm until the last few weeks. My mac suddenly froze while playing Warcraft 3. After shutting it down, and rebooting it, i would get this message telling me that i had to restart my computer (from what i found out, that message was kernel panic). I've also had all these little lines on my screen, and while i couldnt get to my login screen under a normal boot, i could safe boot it. I've tried everything i could think of, from doing a disk utility repair, up to re-installing OSX. I finally took it in to an apple service center, and that's what it was. The VRAM failed the hardware test. The only cure is to replace the logic board... which means 750$(Canadian) + Labor + taxes. he said it would probably be around 900-1000$ to fix it. Now, considering this powerbook is worth about that amount of money on ebay, (in working condition), i am very dissapointed as my warranty expired about 2 months ago.
Tough luck mate.

I ran hardware test and error 4MOT/1/40000003: HDD-1322 came up. Anyone know what this is?

    Hi guys,
I have a similar problem, the numbers at the end of the error code change a bit, when i do the apple hardware test again ( I have an imac of early 2008, 2,66 GH). I have  2 GB Ram now, after one week ago one of the 2GB-Ram sticks "died") In fact, it was working quite much, then suddenly (i bought imac in june 2009) the ram stick was broken. The apple-support center told me its probably not a problem, but did not tell me what the error code means.  I have apple-care for 3 years, its a luck i did it, so they will take it and check carefully, but just after i insisted on the error. It seems they do not want to tell u what that could be....
Do u guys think the ram-stick was broken because the imac was too hot???

  • ORA-39083: Object type TRIGGER failed to create with error:

ORA-39083: Object type TRIGGER failed to create with error:

i have exported (expdp) data from production db, when i importing (impdp) the dump file to the test db i m geting the above two errors.
    example:
ORA-39083: Object type TRIGGER failed to create with error:
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
    Failing sql is:
CREATE TRIGGER "NEEDLE"."CC_BCK_TRG" BEFORE INSERT OR UPDATE

    IF UPDATING THEN

    :NEW.modidate :=w_date;
    END IF;
    END;
status of the above trigger in pro db is valid. and source table also exist even though i m getting error when i import
    please suggest me...

perhaps you don't have table... (impdp created trigger before create table)
    check about "NIIL.cc_bck_mgmt" table.
and then create it (trigger) manual ;)
    Good Luck.

The Lenovo System Update installed the "Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver 8.9.2.1002" right before the Windows Upgrade got broken. So in the Device Manager under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers, I choose Intel ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller, on the Driver Tab, I choose the option "Roll Back Driver" and after rolling back the driver and restarting the OS, now Windows Update is working like a Champ!
    The End!

Global query block is causing a DNS server to fail a query with error code Name Error exists in the DNS database for WPAD on a Windows 2008 server.

The global query block list is a feature that prevents attacks on your network by blocking DNS queries for specific host names.  This feature has caused the DNS server to fail a query with error code NAME ERROR for wpad.contoso.com. even though data
for this DNS name exisits in the DNS database.  Other queries in all locally authoritative zones for other names that begin with labels in the block list will also fail, but no event will be logged when further queries are blocked until the DNS server

These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? Are they also 800736FD, or some other number? (If they're another number, what number are you getting?)

  • MacBook won't boot after trying to repair with Disk Utility. Cannot boot in Safe Mode. Just powers down after about 5 minutes. Apple Hardware Test says error 4SNS/1/40000001:IG0C-0.265 But I cannot find anything on the net about it. MacBook 4,1 Intel.

    Hello Everyone,
I am in dire need of assistance I am hoping someone could provide. I have a MacBook 4,1 with Intel Core 2 Duo processor 4GB Ram. It is taking over 10 minutes to boot up past the gray apple screen when I turn it on. First I cleared the PRam (?) then I checked the disk using Disk Utility Verify, and it said the disk needed repairs. So I ran the disk repair and it said it was unable to fix the errors on the HD.
I did a little research and tried booting into the Single User mode, then running /sbin/fsck -fy. It said that it found errors but could not fix them. I ran it two more times as suggested and got the same result each time. I then tried rebooting and now instead of taking 10 minutes to boot up, it takes about 5 minutes on the gray apple screen and then just turns off. I started in Verbose mode to try to troubleshoot the error and it appears the last thing to come across the screen before power down is a message "Apple Yukon 2: RxRingSize <= 1024....etc".
I decided next I would run the Apple Hardware Tester. The test came back with an error code "4SNS/1/40000001:IG0C-0.265". I am very good at searching the web but I could not find any errors that had the IG0C or IGOC or any combination at the end, but plenty of 4SNS/1/40000000(1) errors with different endings. From what I can tell people are saying anything with 4SNS/1/4000000 is a logic board failure, but this computer was literally just booting this morning until I did the /sbin/fsck -fy.
Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated.
    Thank you for your time.

You've a couple of issues .... when Disk Utility tells you it can't repair a drive, if the error is a soft error, like an invalid tree or node, Disk Warrior (or TechTool Pro) can handle it. However, if Disk Warrior (or TechTool Pro) can't handle it, you can erase and write zero's to the hard drive and restore to it, or you can buy a new hard drive. Sometimes running SMART Utility can provide additional insight into the health of the hard drive.
THe 4SNS error is a sensor error.  You could install iStat Pro to see if something is indeed getting too hot or remaining room temp or less.  You may need to take it into an Apple shop so they can use their thermal diagnostics to test and isolate it further.

  • Power Mac G4 MDD problems with Hardware test Memory errors

I have been troubleshooting slowness and unexplained lockups on my Power Mac G4 MDD. I've had the system since 2002. I tried to run hardware test (the disk that came with my system), and I get an error message at startup:
Invalid Memory Access at %SRRO: 00034870
    %SRR1: 00003030
I run mac-boot, and get another memory error
    Invalid Memory Access at:
    %SRRO: 056106dc
    %SRR1: 00003030
Does this mean my memory has gone bad? I don't get any other screens for testing hardware.
The lockups are varied, but many seem to deal with Safari. I have also repaired disk permissions and repaired disk. I then get security error messages when I restart, and I choose to fix them, and things are fine for a while, but then it slows down some and starts locking up again.
    Thanks for any suggestions,

    Hi Marbot61,
You might be interested in the thread "error when booting from AHT CD" on this forum. Since four different users have had the same error message in two days, perhaps ram chips are actually ok, and there is something else going on with the AHT CD boot process.

  • 2008 iMac running beautifully untill recently. Screen glitches and freezing. Apple Hardware test showed error code  4MOT/2/40000004:ADD and I have not seen others with this code. Guessing it is a fan issue based on the ODD and HDD error codes

computer felt hot and while running apple hardware test the screen glitches covered the screen and it froze. Now computer wont boot up. Again AHT code is 4MOT/2/40000004:ADD and I have just seen ODD and HDD codes discussed on other threads. Those were hardrive or superdrive fans, so I am guessing this is a fan issue and then it fried by graphics card. Any help as to whether this is game over or worth repairing would be very appreciated.

You need to take it to your local Apple Store or AASP for a professional evaluation. Apple does not publish the codes from AHT, you can Google the code you got and see if you can determine what it means however the best method is to let a pro handle it.

No, it can do that. There are clearly other issues.
anyway an error came back saying the disk was corrupt
The install disc or the HD?
now I thought that sorted it. but after doing the updates. and then going to repair the disk permissions/repair the disk it came back with same error. and also the hardware test is still failing.
The system will never be stable until the HD directory is repaired.
    - is the version of the hardware tester I have not compatible with the OS or the firmware i have upgraded to? or does the tester just check the integrity of the hardware regardless of firmware & os vers.
If this is the AHT disc that shipped with your MBP, it is fine, regardless of what OS you have installed.
I really would prefer to not start from scratch again. But could this be an user account problem?
    No.
I'll set up a new usr acct and use that for a while. just a pain to bring the files over from my current usr acct to the new one.
I believe that's a waste of your time. As has already been stated, at least one of the issues is the damaged HD directory. Until/unless that is repaired, what you install on the HD isn't going to work correctly, if at all. The big question is, is some other part of the hardware causing the directory damage, or did the directory take a freak "hit" and repairing it will resolve things? It's quite possible that bad RAM or the logic board could have caused the directory damage. You're either going to have to bring it in to an Apple Store "genius" bar and see how much they'll test for free, or do some things yourself. For things you can do yourself, apart from trying one RAM module at a time, and running Repair Disk repeatedly (I don't think that's going to do it), you're going to need to either get your hands on Disk Warrior (or comparable utility), or a different HD, or try the HD in an external enclosure, or get your hands on some different RAM to try.

  • Massive stability issues - Disk Utility repair failed, hardware test failed

    Hi,
I am having massive stability issues. The installer will not install anything, programs are quitting randomly, and it is getting very annoying!
I read through a lot of posts and I have attempted to:
Repair my disk using the install cd: but that failed.
I did a Hardware test: but i had an error relating to fonts (?), couldn't see anything on the screen and I couldn't do anything.
Is there something else I could do that I haven't tried?
I have had my PB for a little over a year and have had no issues like this before. All of these issues seemed to start when I was playing a game and it suddenly just quit; I then couldn't go back into the game or re-install the game.
    Help!!

    Hi, Dan.
You wrote: "Repair my disk using the install cd: but that failed."That's a big problem. You won't get very far until the problems noted by Repair Disk, the function I presume you ran based on your description, are sorted out. It's possible the hard drive has failed.
If the Apple Hardware Test failed, that's another significant problem. If it produces messages you can read that describe the failure, write them down. The machine may need to be serviced by an Apple Authorized Service Provider.
As to your next steps, first run the procedure specified in my "Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache Corruption" FAQ. Perform the steps therein in the order specified to see what's up with your disk and if anything can be done to correct that.
    Good luck!

  • PB 17" Hardware Test Result-Error Code 2STF/1/4

I have a 17" Powerbook G4 running OS X (10.4.7). Today I was online on a cable modem. I walked away from the computer and then heard a high pitched sound. I had the sound turned all the way off so it wasn't coming from anything normal. It seemed as though the sound was coming from my attached external speakers but apparently that wasn't the source of the sound. It appeared to be still online but then everything froze up. Then the computer turned itself off when I tried to quit the Firefox application.
I had trouble getting my Powerbook restarted and when it did restart it showed the blinking question mark. I ran the Hardware Test and came up with an error code. It showed an error detected in the mass storage. The code was 2STF/1/4. Apparently there is nothing I can do to fix this on my own? This being Saturday I guess I have no computer for the weekend and maybe for a while. Does anyone have an idea how serious this error code is?
    Ginny
    PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    Hi--
Does anyone have an idea how
    serious this error code is?
Based on the description of the sound you heard, and a Google search for the hardware error code, it sounds like your hard drive failed. My guess is that the high pitched sound you heard was either a bearing in the hard drive going (if they have such a thing), or the head scraping the surface of the drive (and thereby removing the magnetic media that holds the data).
One other thing that it might mean is that the hard drive controller chip, which is on the logic board, has failed. But that doesn't really explain the high pitched sound you heard (unless it was from the speakers, and was caused by an electrical failure on the logic board that leaked into the sound generating chip).
At this point, I think you need to have a technician look at the computer.
    good luck,

  • RAM - is Hardware test or memtest best?

    Hi
I'm having regular kernel panics - about 1 a day so have tested the RAM to see if that's causing the problem.
The Apple Hardware test is showing a problem with DIMM0 (would I be correct in thinking DIMM1 is the factory install?)
However, using the memtest software doesnt show any faults... which one is liable to me more accurate?

    Hello,
I'll agree with the others, and say that if the memory shows bad in any test that I would be concerned.
But, as for which one I would take most seriously, I would trust Apple's in this case. There are two reasons:
First, Apple's hardware test rarely has a false positive. It will miss problems with memory more than it catches them. So, if it finds a problem, I would consider it a definitely problem.
Second, this is the only test that Apple is going to take seriously and care about. They are not going to rely on your findings from an unsupported 3rd-party program. Since they cannot control the quality of that other test, they are not going to replace parts based on it's results. So, they will only take the results from their own tests seriously. And, you can call them with the error code that the test returned, and they will issue a replacement part for you (assuming that it is their memory module that's bad and not one you installed from somewhere else).
    I hope this helps.

  • Hardware Test Message Error

What does the following mean: hardware test error message 4SNS/1/40000000:TC0D-100.250
    thank you

Depends. If the sensor has completely failed then the fans may not ramp up when they should to keep the CPU and GPU cool. This could lead to heat failure.
If the sensor requires replacing, then it means a new motherboard. If a connector is loose then it won't take much to repair it.

  • Server 2008 R2 Standard - Netlogon Service fails to start with error code 31 a device attached to the system is not functioning

Device manager does not show any signs of failed hardware
Server used to be the only domain controller in the network
We had a power failure that resulted in the machine powering off incorrectly (3 months ago or so)
Windows would not start for a missing file
Followed a guide to resolve and we were able to get into windows
Since then the OS has not seemed to work correctly
Server was demoted and AD moved to another server
I am now not able to assign permissions to folders to domain users because this machine does not see the domain
We still use this server as a file server

I believe that your system is facing some corruptions.
The easiest way to proceed would be to migrate the server content to another location, re-install it and migrate them back.
Otherwise, you can try running chkdsk /r /f and sfc /scannow
    and see if this helps.
