V$transaction used_urec but what is total available urec ?
Hi,
I wonder if I can know how many urec (undo records or undo block) I've got as whole in database.
So if v$transaction says used_urec = 1000 I know thats the 10% of all undo records available .
DB is 9.2.0.8 .

DB is 9.2.0.8 .Undo records can be any size from about 100 bytes to an entires block, so there is no measure that you can apply. You can only consider the number of undo blocks, which is about the same as the number of undo blocks in the undo tablespace you are using.

I understand "Average" and "Maximum" but what is "Total"?I can't tell you how many people use my studio and compress their video to fit exactly on a DVD-5, and then go over because they can't fit their audio or menu graphics, or subtitles, or anything else. They go over literally by about 1-2 MB, and don't understand that you can't just stuff it in there… One byte over is too big. That's a tough one for a lot of people to grasp, but always funny when they ask if there's anything they can do to make it fit without recompressing it. I just tell them to hit it with the hairdryer.

Do i need to backup my information before installation of Mac os x lion? I know I should always back up, but what i'm asking is will my information be there, or is it a totally clean install? Will my information have to be transfered?
When I installed Lion all of my files were intact and where I left them, and I did not back up my Mac, however having seen some of the problems some people are coming across when installing Lion I would recommend backing up before you install (just to be on the safe side).

Install Yosemite instead of Mavericks. Or you can do the following if your computer supports Internet Recovery:
Install Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion Using Internet Recovery
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Internet Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION- R keys until a globe appears on the screen. Wait patiently - 15-20 minutes - until the Recovery main menu appears.
Partition and Format the hard drive:
Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
After DU loads select your newly installed hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion. Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Install button. Be sure to select the correct drive to use if you have more than one.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
This should restore the version of OS X originally pre-installed on the computer. -

Nvidia panel displays complete rubbish.
They also count some system memory with the amount of vga memory, which, with dedicated videocards these days, is to no point, since the card will never be able to use it.
Your card has, like Svet already said, 3072MB dedicated videomemory and thats all its gonna utilize, since thats the amount of VRAM on the pcb.
So your buddies with 4+GB VRAM are just showing off stuff they cant use and Nvidia controlpanel shows numbers and amounts of VRAM, you'll never have available, just like that stupid Windows Performance Index shows some numbers about your system that in reallife mean diddlysquad.
Besides, there arent any 580GTX's outthere with more then 3GB VRAM aboard.
Long story short, dont get all hyped up by numbers, you got what you paid for and there's nothing wrong with your amount of memory on that card.

With my system Nvidia says I got 3071MB of video-memory available, but 1280MB is dedicated, dedicated being the true amount the card wil ever use, since my card has only 1280MB and not 3071MB.
Like I said they count some system-memory with it, although the card will never ever be able to use it, its just to screw people over. -

Hi,
I created a deployment for an application that will use a Custom CMD to Install / Uninstall. Locally executing those files works perfect. The deployment installed the application and shows perfectly installed but:
Since this application is a user Self Service Application they should be able to hit to Install or Uninstall by themselves. The problem is that the Uninstall button is grayed out.
I noticed this problem for other applications too but some of them has this option available.
My question is if only the MSI Native Installer will get this option available or also the Script Installer can have it available.
I do have a Uninstall Program listed on the Deployment type as: "uninstall.cmd" before it hasn't had the quotes but even that still doesn't active the option Uninstall. I don't know if there is an option inside the UDI Wizard that I missed
to activate that will activate this option for this kind of deployments.
Please any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

I have the same problem like Joel, But my deployment is available and does not have a query to detect installed users. we have used direct membership in collection, still the option of uninstall is graded out for one of the application.
So far we have tried all the below options.
Created a new application and deployed to the targeted audience – Still not worked
Changed the detection method to Product code – Still not worked
Change the uninstall script – Still not worked
Refreshed client policies – Still not worked
Reboot is not pending – Still not worked
Policy Reset – Still Not worked
Client Repair – Still not worked
WMI Repair – Still not worked
Let us know any other solution/though to resolve the issue.

PPTP "MPPE required, but keys are not available"
Dear all
Since last reboot of my server I got following errormessage in VPN Logfile when user tries to connect to the server trough PPTP:
MPPE required, but keys are not available. Possible plugin problem?
Anyone have an idea, what could be wrong ?
May as another information: After restart of the server I had problem, that VPN Server was not started, because the L2TP definitions where not correct... Logfile told me. So I have redefined the PPTP and L2TP setting, but disabled the L2TP login, because I have definied this "only" for test purposes. All definitions where made with Server Administrator.
Before restart of Server Login trough PPTP was working quite well...
I forgott to say, that the Server (Leopard 10.5.1) is an OD Master, which is working quite well (until now). The authentication type for PPTP is set to MS-CHAP (Kerberos is grayed out, I don't know why)

I also tried with and without your crossdomain.xml file but
with the same result. It looks like this file is intended for URL
policy, instead of socket policy. Recently Adobe separated the two.
When I run with the files installed on my dev PC, it does
work, which makes sense because the flash player isn't loaded from
an unknown domain.
I did get one step closer. If a crossdomain.xml in the server
root exists and the socketpolicy file is loaded from the app folder
then the first two warnings disappear. The logs now show:

Before embarking on a major OS upgrade, it would be wise, advisable and very prudent if you backup your current system to an external connected and Mac formatted Flash drive OR externally connected USB, Thunderbolt or FireWire 800, Mac formatted hard drive. I have the 1st generation iPad. All of a sudden it will not connect to my wi-fi. It finds my wi-fi, but will not totally connect. I have done everything...reset network, rebooted router etc and it still will not connect. My other divices are connected....iPhone and 3 Macs. Any suggestions?
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
