V11.3 Opens a PDF, Then Closes After A Few Seconds...
...and yes, I HAVE clicked ACCEPT on the EULA.
Version X (10) works fine. Version XI (11.3) does NOT. I am running Windows 7 64-bit. I have uninstalled clean / complete - reinstalled, no luck. And yes, I can downgrade to version X. But that's not the point.
The point is - this is apparently some kind of bug with 11.3. Is there a fix for this?
Thanks...
Andy

Thankfully, I found at least my solution in another thread updated today:
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1272889?tstart=0
Added the "protected.reg" to my registry and everything is fine now.
What the ****, Adobe????

When i try to open week cal it loads and then closes after a few seconds...I have checked for updates, turned the phone off then on, closed out of the app and then opened it again...nothing works! I have thought about deleting the app from my phone and then reloading it again but I worry that it will delete all my calendar info??? Any suggestions?
To reset, press and hold the Home and power buttons until the silver apple appears.
I would delete the app, reset the phone and then download the app again. Your calendar information should be stored on the phone as Week Cal uses the Calendar app information.
Best of luck. -
Why does adobe close after a few seconds when i open a pdf? It has worked fine for a year on this computer.
Try repairing the application from within the Control Panel and see if solves the issue. Also, see if temporarily disabling your antivirus software helps.

Hi Patrick,
I would like to know few details from you.
Firstly, please tell me are you on Windows or MAC? What Acrobat version do you use?
Secondly, does this happen with all PDF files or any specific one?
Do you get any specific error message?
Please let me know.

Premiere Pro & After Effects close after a few seconds after the startup?
Hi,
I bought Creative Cloud yesterday and everything installed just fine. I haven't tried all Apps yet, but so far Premiere Pro and After Effects close after a few seconds after the startup. There is no dialogue or error window of any kind, the programs just shut down automatically.
The weird thing is that I had the trial before, but also uninstalled it, but then the apps worked just fine.
I searched the forum but couldn't find anyone with the exact same issue. I hope someone can help me out.
My notebook specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Intel Core i7-3610QM
CPU 2.30 GHz
RAM 6 GB
Graphics card: nVidia Geforce GT 630M - 2 GB>assigning my nVidia card as the main driver for Premiere Pro (instead of the standard card)
You MAY need to turn off the onboard graphics "chip" in BIOS

So I recently got a Mac Mini about two weeks ago and for some reason while I am on it the display will go blank and then return after a few seconds. It is happening very frequently. I checked the HDMI cable, I checked my tv and nothing seems to be wrong with them and I don't know what is going on.
I am getting a bit frustrated because this Mac is brand spanking new and it is totally acting up for no reason whatsoever.
Could someone please help me with this? I don't want my new computer to be useless. I need it.Which TV model do you have?
Be aware of the fact that very many TVs do expect video signals on their HDMI inputs, not data signals from Macs or PCs. Please consult your TV manual if PCs or Macs can definitely be connected via HDMI, or if e.g. only DVI or RGB/VGA connectors are to be used.
In case of DVI inputs for data being present, it's not a problem if an HDMI->DVI adapter, or better, cable is being used.
Many users here are overlooking this potential reason for problems, assuming that HDMI outputs must always communicate with any HDMI input, certainly also because TV manufacturers do not "advertise" such limitations loudly.
AV receivers with multiple HDMI inputs and a single HDMI video output to the TV are typically more "tolerant" and provide a sort of "converter" function. If present, feed a Mac's HDMI signal into the receiver, not the TV directly. If the receiver does not have enough HDMI inputs, consider to connect rather a video source (DVD player or similar) directly to the TV than the the Mac. -

When I start iPhoto it opens up but shut down after a few seconds.
Ken in SwedenTry this: launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos and test to see if the same problem persists. If that does the same or you can't create a new library try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
or with Lion and Mt. Lion from the User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto/
Data/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE 1: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
NOTE 2: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

Navigate to the C: drive, open "Program files" look for Acrobat 8 Pro folder and find the "exe" file for Acrobat 8.1 Pro.
Right click on the "exe" file, click "Properties". Then check the box "run the program in compatibility mode for Windows XP professional"

Every time I try to open Iphoto '11 (as of today) the coloured wheel appears after a few seconds and the program becomes unresponsive. I assume I have a corrupt file but I cant do anything including accessing help. I have tried closing down and restarting but it dosnt help. Any ideas please?
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

Some Apps refuse to open or close after a few seconds. Is it the apps or the phone?
Has anyone else suffered from the following glitches?
A few apps I have purchased recently have worked fine for a couple of days but then seem to stop working. By stop working I mean an app is pressed, the screen flashes to black as though opening the app, but then fails and returns back to the original screen. This has happened on two apps thus far, shiftlife organiser and the free app movie SFX. I had to delete them and re-sync them on ITunes. They both appear to work fine for a few weeks and then fail to work for no obvious reason.
Another app Met Office Weather, will open correctly, but when navigating through the app to say weather maps, just shuts it down continuously. A game Death Rally, which I have been playing on and off for a while with no issues, now will open for a few seconds and then close itself again.
Another issue is functions not appearing. From the main menu screen I have flicked left to the search screen to find there is no keypad, or when accessing ITunes via the phone, cannot input the ITunes ID as there is no keypad to enter the password.
On each occaision i have rebooted the phone, but I dont want to have to keep performing this manual fix each time.
Its almost appears as though a virus is slowly infecting my Iphone 4S V5.0.1.
HELP!!Basics are restart, reset, restore.
Have you tried each of these? -

1. From your preferences directory drag com.apple.iPhoto.plist to your desktop and loaunch iphoto to see if it fixes your problem. I'm a little leary of doing this since all your iphoto preferences will be recreated from scratch. So if this experiment doesn't work replace the recreated one in Preferences with the old original one you dragged on to your desktop.
2. Boot in safe mode. Play with iphoto a little bit to see if it fails. Whether it fails or not reboot normally. Safe mode will suppress all third party additions, your login items, as well as doing a little bit of cleaning (e.g., some caches). So it will be interesting to know if iphoto runs in safe mode and then after rebooting normally.
