V25 iPad Viewer won't delete folios

I've tried the gear and it doesn't show me the old folios that I want to delete from my iPad. I have 2 versions, one with a blue stripe, one without. I asume the stripe version is from the folio Producer. ???Beth

Yes, you'll see two versions of a published folio. This is by design. Think of one as the test folio and one as the public folio. If you need to make a tricky edit to an Edge animation, for example, you would edit the source file and update the article in the panel. This update affects only the folio with the blue stripe. If you messed up your edit, the public doesn't see it. When you finally get the edit right, you update folio to roll the change into the public version.
Of course, if you don't create a custom app, this workflow isn't useful. The Adobe Content Viewer is designed to be a test app.

IPad apps won't delete

I have an original iPad and recently I was told by Apple support I had to switch from the Apple store in the country I live in to the Apple store in the country where my credit card was issued. After that I received two updates for installed apps, selected to do the update, and logged in with my Apple ID but then the apps got stuck in "waiting" mode. If if put my finger on the apps and hold so they start to "wiggle" the two that are stuck do not wiggle and I do not get the "x" option to delete them. I do not have restrictions on in my general settings and I have fully rebooted the iPad 5 or 6 times and sync'd numerous times as well. The apps do not show up in iTunes on the views of my iPad screens, they do show up listed on the left hand side of iTunes on the apps page, but it doesn't matter if they are checked or unchecked. I cannot get them to either reinstall or uninstall.
Appreciate any help I can get as this is quite annoying and I don't want to have to reset the iPad back to factory defaults.

What can happen sometimes is that the apps are showing but not actually downloaded, make sure you have updated all apps within the appstore, you are not able to delete apps until they are fully installed on a idevice.
If that doesnt work, transfer purchases, then use itunes to check for availabl updates and then unsync them from the idevice.

Content Viewer 32.1 Deleting Folio Downloads

We just updated DPS Content Viewer 32.1 on iPad Gen4 running iOS8.0.2 and noticed that the previously downloaded v27 folios have reset to download new content. We tested this on a couple of devices and received the same result. Will this behavior happen once we release our 32.1 app from iTunes? Our readers have already complained about losing their downloaded libraries from previous app bugs in the past few weeks.

If users upgrade first to iOS 8 and later upgrade the app... then they will have to download old content again as mentioned in the release notes:
When users upgrade to iOS 8, previously downloaded folios will be removed from the device if users restore. However, if they upgrade using an app built after Sept. 13, downloaded folios should be preserved.
We used push-messages and "expedited review" to get customers to upgrade the app first.

Tried to delete iCloud account from my iPad but won't delete

Hi OldPete71$$$... You are not alone. I am taking my iPad3 to the Apple store later today - I had to wait to get an appointment - for this very problem. This error did not occur until I updated to 8.1.1. I have not tried letting the device sit, I have been doing a hard reboot to recover functionality. If it's any consolation, I *can* delete apps through the iTunes interface, it's just very sloooooow. I can't delete internet shortcuts that I've stored on the home screen this way, though.

HT1657 rented video won't delete from my ipad even after I watched it.

My kids rented and watched a video on 12/24 and it still appears on my itunes under rentals. I can highlight it but it won't delete from my itunes or my ipad. Try dragging and dropping the music on top of your iPad to sync the music over, also ensure that you are syncing the recently added tracks.

The cloud icon means that they are only in the cloud, they aren't currently stored on your iPad, so there isn't anything to delete. You can turn off the showing of the books that are in the cloud via Settings > iBooks > Show All Purchases 'off'

Connect your iPad to your computer and run iTunes. Select your iPad in iTunes and try to run the update there. Updating requires a lot less free space on the iPad when updating through iTunes on a computer because the update files will be downloaded to and extracted on the computer.

Content Viewer won't update the library

Hey guys!
Big trouble here.
After I last updated an uploaded folio, the Content Viewer on the iPad out of the sudden was not recognizing any update on that folio anymore.
So I deleted the folio from the iPad and updated the library. What happened? The folio wasn't even there to download anymore. And yes, it appears on the Folio Producer and it is active.
It's quite a big folio (+100 mb) and I have even uploaded it again with another name and still the Viewer won't show it on the library.
I have tried to upload smaller folios and it worked just fine.
Have no idea what's the problem neither the solution.
Anyone with the same problem?

Problem resolved, with a bit of help from Adobe Support. It was Websense, our organizations web content filter. This is what I got from Adobe Support, which I sent to the IT guys.
In order for the content viewer on the iPad to work and bypass the network, make sure this two Adobe domain/url is allowed through the network.

Desktop Content Viewer won't appear in InDesign CS6

I am having an issue in CS6 Indesign with teh ADOBE DESKTOP CONTENT VIEWER.
I try to preview a folio using the desktop viewer and nothing happens, it silently fails.
I have uninstalled Indesign CS6 (including preferences), Uninstalled adobe Air 3.3. Uninstalled the content viewer.
rebooted, reinstalled air rebooted, reinstalled Indesign CS6 rebooted...
After installing InDesign CS6, i choose Help > Updates and updated the DPS Desktop Tools
And it still doesn't work!
I think it may be to do with AIR rather than InDesign because it goes through the progressbars in InDesign and I have previously a BETA version of AIR that caused an issue else where, even though this is now uninstalled and the latest release of AIR is installed it still is failing to comunicate with AIR.
I also, based on another posts recomendation, installed earlier version of the tools, but this made no difference. I suspected it wouldnt as it installed to different version folders.
Its really frustrating as it works fine on a co-workers PC running 64bit WIndows 7
I now get this error if the folio is a new folio...
I deleted my current folio and started again and when i try to preview i get this...

I can see, for such a long time many people are facing this issue (Desktop Content Viewer won't appear in InDesign CS6)
Friends here is the solution of this distinguished problem.
Steps: [For Window XP]
[Make sure your log-in has “Administration” rights]
Open My Computer [Window Key + E].
Open the Main Local Disk [C:].
Click on “Search” tab above.
Click on “All files and folders”.
Write “AdobeContentViewer.air” in “All or part of the file name:” Box.
Click on “Search” [Now you can see “AdobeContentViewer.air” file]
Double click on “AdobeContentViewer.air” to install it.
Select checkbox for “Desktop Shorcut”
Once it installed, open “Adobe Content Viewer” from the desktop.
Now close “Adobe Content Viewer”.
Open Indesign Application and try to “Preview” your article/work from the “Folio Overlay Panel”
I hope this will work for you.

ITunes under Vista won't delete my songs

Hey guys.
I've recently updated to Windows Vista, and I'm running iTunes 7.3 with an iPod Nano.
Previously on my XP machine (with some ancient iTunes, 7.1 maybe?) I was able to select a track in my library, and either hit the Delete key or right-click and select the Delete option. This would spawn a dialogue - do I want to keep the files, or move to recycle bin (or cancel)?
Now under iTunes, when I delete a file, that dialogue is not there anymore, and deleting a file only removes it from the library view, rather than from my hard drive.
As an added piece of information, I was able to upgrade a purchased song to iTunes Plus. When you do this, there's a dialogue of similar nature offering to move the old file to the recycle bin or to keep it. This dialogue appears, but when selecting recycle it does no such thing
It's worth noting that all my music is in my iTunes Music folder, not anywhere else. I understand there can be a problem where if your music is not stored with iTunes, it won't delete the files. I don't believe this applies to my situation.
I only really noticed this by happenstance, and now I have my music collection full of tracks I don't want anymore, but no effective way of getting them back in. Why is this?
Well, that's peculiar thing #2. Previously I used to be able to just re-add my iTunes music folder, and iTunes would helpfully trawl through and add music in, ignoring tracks that already exist. It no longer does this - you can add the folder, but it creates a duplicate for each song that already exists. These duplicates are unrated with no previous play information - it's as if iTunes doesn't agree that they're the same track.
I'm wondering if these problems are related - if iTunes in some way is able to play my previous library just fine, manage ratings and so on, but is in some way confused about whether they're actually in the iTunes folder. XP and Vista have different file paths (C:\Documents and Settings\ in XP, C:\Users\ in Vista)... would this have something to do with it? I suspect that there's a Junction (like a hard link, but in Windows) in place to redirect C:\Documents and Settings\ to C:\Users\, but this behaviour is not unversally supported cleanly.
Is there a way of editing my library details to include the correct pathname if that's the problem?
Man, sorry about the long post But it's really bugging me, and obviously I don't want to have to re-add and re-rate 22 days of music...

Ok I think I fixed it
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93313 describes that you can gank the binary file, and re-import using the XML document.
The trick is of course to:
1. Close iTunes
2. Gank the binary file
3. Search and replace the music locations in the XML
4. Start iTunes
5. Import the XML file
This works, but there are some caveats (need to resynch the iPod, etc.). But yay, my files are once again being deleted.

IPad Mini Won't Sync With Mac Mini (ios 8.1 OSX 10.6.8)

Problem : IPad Mini connects to iTunes OK, can be seen in iTunes and I can select which movies to sync to it etc. When I hit the "apply" button after making a change (ie deleting or adding a movie) the sync lasts just a second then the "sync" button remains greyed out, and I can't make them sync.

My iPad 2 won't complete syncing

My iPad 2 won't complete syncing. It gets to step 5 (waiting for items to copy) and won't get past that step. I have tried deleting iTunes and reloading? Any other suggestions?

I am a Mac users and I assume that you are a Windows user. I know next to nothing about Windows - maybe even less than next to nothing, if that's possible.
These may be of some help.

These are simply temporary steps that you want to take and you want to be sure to turn the firewall and the anti virus software on again after you try this. Furthermore this may not work at all, it's just a troubleshooting step to see if iTunes is able to communicate now with the Apple servers to download the safe browsing data and complete the sync.
