Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
One thing is the memory, and another thing is the hard disk space. You are telling me that you have 200 GB of free space on the hard disk, but the App Store is telling you that you have to install 2 GB of memory or more on your Mac if you want to upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion.
First of all, open  > About this Mac > More Info, and copy "Model Identifier" here, so we can know what Mac you have got and how much memory you can install.
We recommend to buy the memory in OWC or Crucial (Crucial is cheaper and offers the same compatibility warranty as OWC) because you won't probably have any problem with the memory you buy there

Try plugging the headphones in and gently wiggling them around for a few seconds. It may be that the sensor that tells the iPhone that headphones are plugged in has gotten stuck. If this doesn't work, they try a reset (hold down Sleep/Wake and Home all the way until the Apple logo appears on the screen).

  • My Mac Book Pro do not install OS, say error HD but not repear it. Now do not load the system.

I have a MacBookPro 2012 no retina. I got it 22 December 2012. Mountain Lion installed. 2 months ago I updated to Yosemite. Yesterday, my MacPB did´t start up. Stay in White screen with a folder and a question mark flashing inside.
I have a time machine copy so I  use disk utilities for delete and format internal HD.
MacBP format ok and create 1 partition ok but if I check it it seay ia must repair (an error with red text with code or type 8).
But when I click repair allways end with that red message.
However I decided to move on to installing the M. Lion (only one allowed) from Apple servers and give it a try.
But at the end of discharge (discharge indicator bar fills completely in blue) and tells me that is already at 0% , sudenly jumps to 15% again and stay in this loop that never ends.
Please, i need my MacBP and my desperate question is: Could be only a HD failure because it not get repaired? In that case I would buy another HD. But, could it be the controller and that's more serious?
I do never move the MacBookPro without turning it off before. Always use in my home.
Could be just the HD or has more the look of another damage ? How long warranty gives Apple?.
What could I do to go discarding and keep trying a bit?. I could buy a new HD and install it, coudn't not?
An economic HD  for testing,  What features should be HD, size, technology etc?
Thanks a lot in advance, Im lost now

If you keep getting a 'red' message it means that the HDD is faulty and will have to be replaced.  You will have to format the new HDD in Disk Utility>Erase and then install the OSX and your data from Time Machine.

  • Machines not removed from AD when reimaged - Not Installing client- how to resolve client not installing

Hello, i have across a machine that does not have the sccm agent installed, but states on the server that it is installed. Now I am assuming that someone in the team reimaged but did not remove from AD. If this is the case, how do i resolve this? I have
2,000 clients so need to know how widespread this is.
i checked the client logs but there are no ccm/sccm entries. I know i could probably remove from SCCM then run a Discovery Method, but if there are more out there, i need to find a fix potentially. The client is not installed on the image. Boundarys all
    set ok.
    SCCM 2012 R2
    Cheers

You could create a new collection with a query to find out when a clients last heartbeat was or maybe hardware inventory data age? This isn't going to completely solve the problem, but it will narrow down which clients your after. The queries I have below
have an age value of greater than or equal to 30 days. Just increase this obviously to query for clients that haven't reported back in longer amounts of time.
    Heartbeat Query
select SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceID,SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceType,SMS_R_SYSTEM.Name,SMS_R_SYSTEM.SMSUniqueIdentifier,SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceDomainORWorkgroup,SMS_R_SYSTEM.Client from SMS_R_System where AgentName in ("Heartbeat Discovery") and DATEDIFF(day,AgentTime,GetDate())>=30
    Hardware Inventory Scan Date Query
select SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceID,SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceType,SMS_R_SYSTEM.Name,SMS_R_SYSTEM.SMSUniqueIdentifier,SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceDomainORWorkgroup,SMS_R_SYSTEM.Client from SMS_R_System where ResourceId in (select SMS_R_System.ResourceID from SMS_R_System
    inner join SMS_G_System_WORKSTATION_STATUS on SMS_G_System_WORKSTATION_STATUS.ResourceID = SMS_R_System.ResourceId where DATEDIFF(dd,SMS_G_System_WORKSTATION_STATUS.LastHardwareScan,GetDate()) > 30)
Its also likely that clients in this situation will be marked by Config Manager as inactive. So you could also just sort by your inactive clients but this again will have a % of error as your inactive clients may be a result of workstations being off your
network for a prolonged period of time or simply turned off.
If you can ping a client that has a hardware inventory age of greater than 30 days but you have a client policy to run it say daily, then you could argue they fall into the category your after.
You could also look at this outside of the Console all together. A possible option could be to use a startup / login script to check for the presence of the Config Manager client and then install it if its not (there are quite a few about). If you're not
comfortable with this, then you could use a startup / login script to check for the presence of the client and write say a hostname or something similar to a text file.
    Cheers

  • Itunes download not installed indicating apple application support was not loaded

A couple of days ago, an iTunes update came thru and the update failed.  Support advised to uninstall iTunes and re-install it.  I have uninstalled & installed iTunes several times now.  Installer goes thru full process, says install is successful but then I get these two errors and obviously it's not installed.
    1. Apple Application Support was not found.  Apple Application Support is required to run iTunes. Please uninstall iTunes, then reinstall iTunes again.  Error 2 (Windows 2)
    2.  Apple Application Support was not found.  Apple Application Support is required to run iTunes. Please uninstall iTunes, then reinstall iTunes again.  Error 2
I'm at my wits end.  Please help.

Apple Application Support was not found.  Apple Application Support is required to run iTunes. Please uninstall iTunes, then reinstall iTunes again.  Error 2
Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • Itunes 9 will not instal on XP Pro - itunes 7 does work?

I have installed Quick 7 as stand alone, it worked. Then installed itunes 7 and this worked.
downloaded itunes 9 standalone. Installer gets to just after asking for country and then says ' encountered unpected error, install failed, please try later.'.
I have VDScritp lastest. regedit the .dll as per the apple support.
    Any ideas?

Apologies about the delay. I've been brooding.
Although we don't know where the specific relevant keys are on modern versions of iTunes, there's a shotgun approach we can take to dealing with them, which has a reasonable chance of success in this case. The complicating factor in your case is that you've got a 64-bit Windows. So there's an extra hoop to jump through.
The basic approach is the procedure from the following weblog entry:
[Solving setup errors by using the SubInACL tool to repair file and registry permissions|http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/archive/2006/09/04/solving-setup-err ors-by-using-the-subinacl-tool-to-repair-file-and-registry-permissions.aspx]
The complicating factor is that we have to make an additional edit to the reset.cmd file.
When you're in Notepad, replacing the two YOURUSERNAME values with the name of your Windows 7 user account, in the first line of the batch file, replace the:
    %programfiles%
    ... with:
    %ProgramFiles(x86)%
(On a 64-bit Windows system, subinacl is installed in a different location than on 32-bit systems. So unless we make that change, the reset.cmd isn't going to be able to find subinacl and the reset.cmd won't work.)
While you're in Notepad editing the file, make sure each of the nine lines of the file start of a new line. (Sometimes they get smooshed up together on a single line, and then again the reset.cmd won't work.)
I'd strongly suggest setting up a System Restore point immediately prior to running the reset.cmd. There's instructions on that in the following document:
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial143.html#manual

  • LabVIEW 2010 will not install on Win XP SP3

I have made several attempts to install LabVIEW 2010 on Win XP SP3. I already have LabVIEW 2009 installed and working.
For each attempt I accept the default install options and do not put in a serial number. The first attempt got stuck at 2% complete and did not change for 30 minutes. No error messages. I cancelled the install and tried the install again from setup.exe.
The next two attempts stall at 0% blinking forever. The 4th attempt made it to 18% before it stalled for more than 30 minutes. The next two attempts stalled at 0% repeating and would not cancel. I had to terminate them with Task Manager.
Why won't LabVIEW 2010 install without stalling before than 30 minutes? Why does it not spit out an error message instead of just stalling? How do I know why it won't install?  How do I fix it?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I had the same problem. The 2010 install was very slow on my XP SP3  PC. I do not why, but it took very very long time to get past 2% of the setup. But then the install process speeded up. So just let the computer take the time that is needed. It will eventually install. I used the trail version download from NI
Besides which, my opinion is that Express VIs Carthage must be destroyed deleted
(Sorry no Labview "brag list" so far)

  • Itunes 10.1 will not install and Rollback v8.2 will not recognise my Ipod!

    Hi,
I recently updates to itunes 10 (running nano 4th gen) and since then my computer has become a constant error message and my ipod has become a paper weight.
Whilst installing I10 I get error messages saying could not open Key unknown\components\DA42BC89BF25F5BD0AF18C3B9B1AEE8 verify that you have sufficient access to that key.
I searched through the support forum and did everything that was advised to confirm access etc. I tried to reinstall but got the same message again followed by "Apple application support not found" and then "the program can't start because core foundation.dll is missing from your computer".
Again searched the message boards and tried everything suggested but with no luck.
Ok i said to myself - I need to rollback.
I managed to install itunes V8.2.1.6
When i go to open it i get 2 messages come up that state "The program cant start becuase ASL.dll is missing from your computer" If i click ok on both message and then try to open itunes again it will open. PHEWWWWW.
However, Now I cannot sync my ipod.
Itunes will recognise it, if I try to do a restore I get the message "The ipod could not be restored, An unknown error occured (1436)"
The only help I can find for this is to update to the latest itunes (which I cannot for tech issues).
I have done a reset on the ipod both hard and soft but no luck.
The support I received from apple was basically a message saying that the support they offered didn't cover these issues!!!!!!!
Is there anything that can be done to sort this mess out or should I just consign my ipod to becoming a paper weight.
    Any and all suggestions welcome.
    Thanks in advance

try the procedure suggested in [this|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=12581713&#12581713] thread.

  • SCCM Client Push Installation Wizard does not install the client. CCMSetup folder - not created

    Hello,
I have tried running the Client Push wizard for a single computer or a pilot collection of 8 computers, the result is always
the same - no SCCM client is installed on any computer.
The computers are running 32-bit Windows XP SP2.
    The Windows firewall is disabled.
The client push installation account is setup and have domain admin and local admin privileges. Client Push automatic method
    is not enabled.
The domain is AD WIndows 2000.
The SCCM server is running Windows 2003 R2 SP2 64bit Standard.
The AD schema has been extended.
MP, and SLP are installed and published. (MP is published in DNS as well.)
    FSP is installed.
MP, SLP and FSP are running on the same server.
SQL 2005 server is running locally.
System management container is created and all rights and permissions delegated.
With the Push installation account I can access C$ share on the client computer from the SCCM server.
RPC, Remote registry, WMI services are running on the client machines.
All prerequisites are installed from the client folder on SCCM server- latest BITS 2.5, Windows installer 3.1 and MSXML6.
All computers are in the same IP subnet which is listed in the boundaries.
Yet, the client is not being installed.
No CCMSetup folder is created on the client machines in Windows\System32 folder, so it is really difficult to troubleshoot
what the is the issue. I do not see anything helpful in the ccm.log on the server.
I have tried running the CCMSetup.exe manually on one of the workstations and that was successful and reported back to the
    SCCM server / console.
What else I should check / try? I really want to push agents via the wizard.
    Thank you,
    Peter

    Hi Wally,
    I have changed 2 things:
    1. Enabed automatic push installation (so I am not usign the wizard any more)
    2. Changed the IP subnet to IP ranges in the site boundairies.
After runnignt the discovery, I was able to see some activities in the ccm.log. A ccmsetup folder is now created but the agent is still not instaleld. Here is the ccmsetup.log

There are two red errors I am concerned about:
"Failed to successfully complete HTTP request. (StatusCode at WinHttpQueryHeaders: 401)
    and
"Failed to download 'WindwosXP-KB923845-x86-ENU.exe' from http://HFXDBSSOM.corp.eastlink.ca/CCM_Client/i386/BITS25 with error code 0x80004005).
What should I do to resolve these errors?
    Thanks,
    Peter
