V4 Firmware for N80 on Orange

STILL waiting for V4 Firmware to be approved by Orange...... I requested Orange Tech Support should contact me to inform me when the firmware might be approved. They have not done this and Orange Customer Services don't even have a record of my request!!!!!! I described the numerous problems I am having with this phone to Orange who ran it through their diagnostic system and they tell me that I need a replacement phone..............I think that this will be the 5th phone!!!! How much does it need to cost Orange and Nokia in both financial costs and customer satisfaction before V4 is approved? Do I care? NO. So I have just accepted Orange's offer of another replacement

True, but GBP £400 (SIM-free) v FREE (branded) is a tough call. Mmmmmm. Sorry, free wins every time.
Yeah, but it's not free. You're just a sucker for marketing. You're actually paying for a high rate monthly to get it "free". If you happen to be someone who uses the phone that much per month to justify it then sure it's a bargain although would you have used it so much if you just went PAYG? For me I use it for internet and the odd texting and mostly receiving calls, but I cannot justify the high monthly rate. PAYG is fine for me. I don't even spend anywhere near the very basic Orange monthly. The initial outlay of (in my case) £340 is about £30 a month. I could get a £30 a month package but I bet I can't get it free for that, but even if I could I'd be locked in to a 12 or 18 month contract and end up with a branded phone full of bugs and features locked out that the operator doesn't want you to use (SIP etc). Pay the same price for a sim-free phone and less hassle... no brainer!

  • Firmware for N70

Hello to everybody! Please let me know, how is it possible to find out that new firmware is availble for downloading for N70?
    Nokia N95

    Hi Quagga,
NSU ties available updates to both the mobile and your operator. E.g. N80 with O2 gets firmware A, N80 with Orange gets firmware B, N70 with O2 gets firmware C, etc. You get the idea.
In your case, I suspect your operator and mobile match to 5.0609.2.01 as the latest.
Also, it may be that 5.0638.3.01 may be too new. NCC told me that it typically takes around a month for NSU to be updated after official launch of firmware.
    Cheers. ^_^;

  • N80 and Orange

Monday 15th May, I finally recieve my brand new Nokia N80 on Orange, was looking forward to having such a great phone, love the look of it and everything, but then I realise that some problems occured such as browsing the inter net results in the phone restarting, playing snake results in an out of memory error, and the micro sd card never can be read! So then I ring up Orange Customer Services and tell me to take the handset to a Nokia service point, I see no problem in this as there is one right by me. After looking on the discussions on here also I see that many people are experiencing the same problems I am facing! So I took my phone to the Nokia Service point by me, and they said it would be ready the next day, then the next day arrives and I hear nothing from them. I then ring them up and they said it wasnt ready yet and need an email with the Firmware sent to them as they have not recieved it yet. I then contact Orange to see if they will send out a second handset out to me as the one I have is faulty and they said they cant and after a long arguement with them their answer was still no, I pay a lot a month on my bill, I would think it would be not so hard of them to send a second handset out to me and for myself to trade in the faulty handset with them. I then threatned to leave Orange and still no luck with them! So now I am waiting for my phone to get sent back to me from Nokia as the local service point had to send it away, they proved to be very helpful though and give me a loan handset for the meanwhile. But I cant believe Orange wouldn't send me out any other handset as I contacted them in less than 28 days and also contacted them 2 days after my handset arrived reporting the problem.

    Hi guys,
With Orange, you are at a bit of a loss to be honest. I have had some problems with my N70, countless problems in fact, particularly with firmware and now a charger issue.
Orange will not send a replacement for a phone with firmware issues because according to them, that is Nokia's problem, they probably know about it and there's nothing that Orange can do.
Orange will try and fob you off to Nokia, even if you have orange care. The fact is, as I have just explained to Orange, that under the sales of goods act 1979 a supplier is obliged to provide goods that are not defective. If the goods are found to be defective it is the suppliers responsibility to exchange or refund the goods, not the manufacturer. Therefore Orange should be fixing our phones for free or replacing them under the 12 year warranty that nokia supply, particularly as yours is so new (if they want to claim back from Nokia, thats up to them, but Orange is the supplier, its their problem).
personally would class a firmware problem as 'defective workmanship', therefore, according to Orange's insurance policy, you should be covered for a replacement or repair under section 9.6. you should also not have to pay their £15 admin charge (under section 9.6.1). In practise this does not always work. Orange are very hard nosed. I have sent of my hefty complaint letter to Orange today. I'll let you know how I get on.

John, to answer your question I'd need to know if you're seeking firmware for your Express or your Extreme, and which model of each you have.
The correct firmware for an "older" Express is version 6.3. Use Airport Utility to install it.
If your "old AirPort" is a Graphite or Snow model, you need to use AirPort Admin Utility for Graphite and Snow 4.2.5

  • Version 4.0623.041 for N80

Been today to a nokia service point to upgrade my N80 to v4 hoping that I will finally be able to install the Route66 .sis file.Well.....the answer was..... VERSION 4 AVAILABLE BUT NOT FOR THIS HANDSET VARIANT....
the only thing they did was to upgrade the handset to v3.0614.0.6.
Tried to enquire about the reason but i was declined.
I am really confused now, dont know what to do.
    Any feedbacks?

Apparently the same version 4.0623.041 firmware for your variant 42.02 isn't ready yet. Wait a week then try to find out again if it is available then or not.
Each variant has different languages and perhaps even fonts (for arabic or asian languages for instance) AFAIK, so maybe they haven't finished with your variant yet.

  • Latest sofware update for n80

    HI,
I have heard that there is ver 5 launched in market but on nokia site it is the old one can any one tell me where to get the ver 5
i haVE VERSION 4 INSTALLEED in my phone

    Hi there,
Which webse are you referring to? If you check the Nokia.com Europr regional site, there is a funtion to check the availability of firmware for the phone you own just by providing the Product Code which is printed on the back of your phone after removing the battery.
Compare the latest firmware available from the site to the firmware that is installe in your phone using *#0000#. If there is a newer version, just download Nokia Software Update (NSU) to install the new firmware. ps: remember to backup when upgrading your firmware.

does any one have n91 music player in sisx file for n80. or will the next firmware of n80 will get a newer music player with stero widening and 8 band equalizer.
At last a nseries phone im truely happy with THE N82

    Hi indra_n80
    Sorry ,it is not possible,
I think it wont have it until nokia makes a serious effort on N91.
rEASON:tHE n91 is made by a special music chipset and the music player of this set is not available.
but you can go to www.lonelycatgames.com and try LCG Jukebox and believe me it has 10 band equaliser and has more functionalities.
And AFAIK if you install it and plug a 3.5 mm standard headphone it would be really awsome.

  • Unable To Repair/Update Firmware for a Creative Nomad Jukebox

    Hello all,
I've been trying for the past...3 or 4 hours to get my player to work, but it simply refuses to work =P. I sent the problem into Creative, but haven't gotten a response for a couple days now. So, here's a copy-paste of what I sent in that e-mail. If you can think of anything that might help, please don't hesitate to post! I really need your help on this one!
My player's hard dri've recently died, and I received
a replacement from the original store (a CompUSA).
However, my Firmware for the device has failed. I
tried the firmware upgrade for my Zen, but after
a certain number of tries, I gave up. Here is the
list of steps that I followed.
On Zen: Click "Reload OS", let it run, it says
    run the firmware upgrader now.
On Computer: "You cannot install this firmware
update with your player's current drivers using
the SB394 connector. To update your player's
    firmware, this application will temporarily
replace the current drivers and restore them after
    the installation is complete. Continue
installation?", I click Yes. Then it says to
disconnect, and re-connect. I do it.
It shows my version (.2.0), and I'm upgrading/
repairing it to .2.02. When I click "Upgrade", a
warning message pops up and says:
"Your player cannot start up properly. Please
reboot your player and run this application again.
I've done this at least 0 times, and nothing changes. My player is a Nomad Jukebox Zen, the one with a FireWire connection, and like I said,
I've tried this at least 0 times with the same results. Is there a process to completely remove
the firmware on the device, then reinstall it,
or to roll it back or something? Any other ideas
to fix this problem is needed as well.

    Bump.

  • Can't find firmware for BEFW11S4 v2

I'm having trouble finding a firware update for v2 of my BEFW11S4 router. The support page for this model offers a firmware update for v4 only. My current firmware v. is 1.45, which may be the latest version, but I can't seem to find this out anywhere on the Linksys website.
The reason for the update is that my neew iPod 2G won't connect to the internet and I'm guessing an update might help.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

You can Download 740 KB firmware for BEFW11S4 V2 and save it on the dekstop
Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware on the device : -
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on a computer hard wired to the router...
In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1...Leave the Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
Click on the 'Help' tab- Then click on the 'Firmware Upgrade' .... Here click on 'Browse' and browse the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...
Wait for few seconds until it shows that "Upgrade is successful"  After the firmware upgrade, click on "Reboot" and you will be returned back to the same page OR it will say "Page cannot be displayed".
    Now reset your router :
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

  • After downloading firmware for airport utility, airport express base station no longer registers with airport utility on my Mac. Now the base station is blinking amber with no info of what is causing all this to happen. Any suggestions?

After downloading firmware for airport utility last night, airport express base station was deleted from airport utility and only Time Capsule remains. When I plug in the base station, an amber light blinks without being able to verify the cause. Any suggestions to remedy this problem?

There are only a couple of things you can do to resuscitate a nonresponsive Express:
    "Hard reset":
Press and hold the reset button with a pen or pencil until you see the status light (LED) start to flash amber rapidly, which should occur after about five seconds.
    If that does not work,
    "Factory defaults reset":
    Unplug the Express from power.
Press and hold the reset button with a pen or pencil, then plug the Express back in while continuing to hold the button until you see the light (LED) flash rapidly. This should happen after a few seconds.
    Release the button.
In either case you will have to reconfigure the Express as a new device. A moment or two after it has been reset, the LED should be blinking slowly. It must then appear in your Wi-Fi menu like this:
Earlier versions of OS X will report it as "Apple Network nnnnnn".
In either case, select it, and then launch AirPort Utility.
If it does no appear in your Wi-Fi menu after it has been reset using one of the two techniques above, it is defective. Other than attempting another reset, there is nothing you can do.
