V7 won't generate any layout

New installation of v7 upgrade. Did not to an upgrade in
place.
Trying to open and generate output from an older Robohelp 4
project.
The project opens and all seems fine but generate primary or
any layout for that matter displays the "....General" generate
dialog. I changed the output to a shorter name
(c:\RoboHelpDoesntWork) and click Finish. I get the "....has been
generated" dialog with "Starting compilation..., Clearing output
folder..., Starting compilation..." and all three buttons enabled
(View/Help/Close)...and that's it. Nothing's running...no cpu
cycles...no error messages...nada.
You know... I wouldn't mind if I at least got an error
message telling me what the problem is, but I'm getting zilch.
The funny thing is...another even older project worked fine.
Problems with topic files, the TOC, or references?

Actually, what Pete said is correct (I'm his
software-development/IT guy) and the other person when he mentions
"we".
RoboHelp is working but only after we opened, saved, closed,
and reopened and older RoboHelp projects. Until then, generating
any layout was "flaky", exhibiting the weird behavior we described
in the first message.
RoboHelp has
always been flakey to be honest (we've been users since the
Blue Sky Software days). But now it's more flaky
and incredibly slow. Not surprising given how much Office
has bloated out but still...
Moving to RoboHelp for HTML isn't really an option and
shouldn't be one. If you sell RoboHelp for Word...it should work.
If you don't want to support it, stop selling it.

Generating JavaHelp layout off Imported Word doc.

Hi,
I am importing two Word docs (.docx) and generating JavaHelp layout using RoboHelp 9. It is generating only one .htm file i.e. just one topic for each Word doc. Is this good for context sensitive help (i.e. Help menu on different GUI will open the relevant section) ? In older RoboHelp, I saw many topics (i.e. .htm files) were created based on the Header levels (e.g. Header 1,2,3) I selected in Import wizard. RoboHelp 9 did not let me set the Header levels for splitting the Word doc, so I am wondering what I have missed.

You select pagination for every style you want. So if you want new topics for Headings 1, 2 and 3, you tick Pagination for each of those styles.

Can I publish my RoboHelp project directly to a web server using the Generate Primary Layout (WebHelp) function?

I am hoping to improve my method of publishing my company
Knowledge Base.
Currently, I generate the RoboHelp layout to a folder on my
local computer and then manually upload the project output files to
our sever via SmartFTP. My question is how do I publish directly to
the server? Is this possible?
On the first page of the Generate Primary Layout "wizard", I
have entered the path to a local folder on my computer. Three
screens later in the Servers box of the "wizard", I have entered a
server and path, and checked its box. When I generated the output,
I expected it to be published to both locations: the local folder
and the web server folder. But it only publishes to the local
folder, not the web server.
How do I get it publish to the server also?

I had been using the HTTP setting, so switched to FTP and
filled in server info. This time the Publish function began
working! However, the process has since hit a snafu.
Certain files are causing errors and I'm getting a message
such as this one:
Publishing has been cancelled. Failed to create file: image
235.jpg
When I click OK to the first error message, I then get this
one:
Publishing has been cancelled. Failed to create file:
bsscftp.txt
After clicking OK to the 2nd error msg, the Publish fails and
I get this:
Warning: Failed to publish to "help". reason: Canceled by
user.
I have run through the Publish a couple times now and various
files cause the 1st error, but the 2nd file is always that same txt
file. I realize this snafu may be particular to my situation but
any ideas?

IPhoto won't open any windows...

I recently upgraded my Early 2008 MBPro to Lion. When I launch iPhoto, it doesn't open my library. In fact, it won't open any window but the preferences. I've reinstalled iPhoto with absolutely no luck.
My library package is still there, and accessible from the finder. How can I get iPhoto working again? Is there a way to manually reconnect the library to it?

Try trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder.
(On 10.7: Hold the option (or alt) key while clicking on the Go menu in Finder to access the User Library)
(Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
What's the plist file?
For new users: Every application on your Mac has an accompanying plist file. It records certain User choices. For instance, in your favourite Word Processor it remembers your choice of Default Font, on your Web Browser is remembers things like your choice of Home Page. It even recalls what windows you had open last if your app allows you to pick up from where you left off last. The iPhoto plist file remembers things like the location of the Library, your choice of background colour, whether you are running a Referenced or Managed Library, what preferences you have for autosplitting events and so on. Trashing the plist file forces the app to generate a new one on the next launch, and this restores things to the Factory Defaults. Hence, if you've changed any of these things you'll need to reset them. If you haven't, then no bother. Trashing the plist file is Mac troubleshooting 101.

Won't show any real instruments or vocals in the project.

Yes. But I solved the problem. For some reason all the live recording tracks would not show. I created a new "live" track and suddenly they all appeared. Some wierd glitch.

Make sure you don't have any paused installs or downloads in other apps, like the App Store or iTunes Store.
If that doesn't do it, try resetting or restoring the iPhone.

E3000 Won't load any site.

I forgot my E3000 router password so I restarted to factory settings.
I tried to set up using the software that I downloaded for the site and It didn't work, It gave me some errors that I was able to fix later running the software from a windows XP sp3 pc (Lucky I had one of those). Anyhow, even though the software "was able to set the router" I still couldn't connect to the internet, I tried to solve this problem browsing the forums and it kept saying I I was connected to the router but the router wasn't connected to internet.
So after all, browsing and stuff I tried to restart to factory setting a couple of times reboot it and reboot my pc, currently I found out This Link (Since i don't need a login for my ISP) I realized one of the problems was my Local IP address was 192.168.1.1 so I changed to 192.168.2.1 and surprisely it showed me connected to the internet after that.
But still, I can't load any site using the router, It's like I still wasn't connected to the internet, I check "Status" and I get a IP address and everything, I have tried Release and then Renew to get a new one and it still won't load any site, I'm tired of looking around, really mad about this problem.
Any solutions?
PS: If you got no idea you get me a very detailed guide of how to set up my router (I think I did all right though) but I got no problem resetting it again and start over as long as it fixes this problem.

Hi deimerx, first of all, how was the reset done? Did you do it by pressing the reset button down for 30 seconds while the device was on? Let me share the steps to the the proper reset :
1. Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds while the device is on.
2. Release the button and unplug or power off the device.
Once done, reinstall the settings.

number of invalid objects now 16, and all of them related to customized schema. Actually there were 3 more related to apps and I could recompile them.

I'm not sure if it's modified recently, I'm Apps DBA so I'll check with the developer and get back to you ASAP. Unlesss you have some guidance to check if it's modified or not, also what do you mean by replace it with a good back? does this mean can I get CUSTOM.pll from any other envrionment and put it there?

I don't think so but I'll confirm with the developer.
Where this package is used? What is line 24 and column 19?

I've upgraded to OS 10.8.2 and my Bowers and Wilkins MM-1 Speakers were working fine until today, and now they won't play any sound at all, even though iTunes shows the audio is playing. I've tried both the headphone jack and the USB port. Please help!

Thanks. I haven't mixed down the audio or checked the number of tracks in Prefs. Good points.
As far as a mixdown goes, I'll definitely give it a try, though I wonder whether or not the tracks will be recognized during mix down recording - given that you can't hear either of those segments in playback. Just have to try.
Re the preferred number of allowed tracks - I'll go check as soon as I send this off, but I'm not sure that applies in this case, since the two Channels containing the segments that are pinked out are not in additional tracks. I should have mentioned that other audio clips and segments on the same Channels in the SAME tracks ARE heard in playback. As are two additional track in the 2nd Sequence. It's only when the two sequences are joined that the pink tinted segments can't be heard. Within the sequence the same audio cuts playback as they should. Thanks again &

MRP is not generating any schedule line in my vendor's scheduling agreement

My question is: why the MRP is not generating any new line in my vendor's scheduling agreement?
This is the scenario:
I have created a vendor's scheduling agreement with transaction ME31L
I have created a customer's scheduling agreement with transaction VA31 and those characteristics:
- Forecast scheduling lines
- JIT scheduling lines
- MRP to DS type assigned to type C: Requirements according to forecast delivery/Deliveries according to JIT
I have run MRP with transaction MD01
MRP is generating some purchasing requistions, not purchase orders because we have set up a release strategy which requires 2 approvals, but those purchasing requests are not generating any new line in the vendor's scheduling agreement.
Any idea why it could be? Please do not hesitate to ask for further explanations. Thank you

Check if stock is available for the material in that plant.
Also check the requirement date for the material and compare it with the planning horizon for that plant.
Check your material master MRP view.
Create source list(for material and plant in question) with MRP indicator 2.

Firefox updated yesterday and now it won't load any webpages. Have reviewed articles on this problem and checked everything. Still won't load. All other browsers work fine.

Have checked firewall and network settings and compared to other computers running firefox. All is ok, but firefox won't load any webpages. This started immediately after it updated yesterday. No error messages.
Have been having problems with updates on serveral of our computers for a month or so. Previous problems have always been that firefox renames a file it needs by adding moz.backup to the file name and I have to search for the file and remove it. This time I'm getting no error messages.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Remember: we cannot see your machine. There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 8 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Basic things like :
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For instance: 'iPhoto won't export' is best explained by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted?
- Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?

This is exactly what the message says: iTunes could not back up the iPod "austins ipod" because a session could not be started with the iPod.

Try connecting your ipod to another computer and sync only 1 file or song just for isolation purpose only to see if it'll sync.
If still not syncing, then porbably you may have a bad iOS installed in iPod which is hard to see if it has a problem because you said nothing's wrong with iPod. I just saying is, it MIGHT have a bad iOS.
If you are unable to do a restore, put your ipod in DFU mode, then connect to iTunes and iTunes will detect your ipod in restore mode. Press shift key (PC keyboard) then click the restore button on iTunes. I hope you have your copy of IPSW file for restoration purposes.
