Valet M10 disconnect power - turn off

I have a Valet M10 Wireless Router. My wiring is Cable to a Modem (a Scientific Atlanta from Time Warner/Roadruner), then USB cable to the Valet M10 Internet connection, and from there USB cable from the Ethernet connection #1 to a desktop PC running windows XP... I was wondering:
1- If I unplug the power (12V DC) from the Valet, I figure that would disable my WiFi?
2- Would that also disconnect my PC, or would I still be able to access the web on the desktop while still wired through the Valet, while the Valet is unpowered?
3- Does the valet have a role in my IP address???

The Valet M10 is only capable of Ethernet connection. Any USB connection from the modem will not work since the router itself doesn’t have a USB port. You will have to utilize an Ethernet connection from the cable modem going to the internet port of the router and another Ethernet cable from any of the Ethernet ports on the router to a computer. If you unplug the power from the router, you will not be able to connect wirelessly since it’s the router who’s broadcasting the wireless signal. You won’t be able to connect to the internet as well on the computer wired to the router. The valet has its DHCP server that would allocate IP addresses to each device that will connect to it. Iphone 4 is stuck in a power turning off and on cycle after trying to update to ios 6 (not on ios 6 yet) and Itunes wont recognise it =/ help's appreciated ;)

I was trying to update my iphone 4 to ios 6 yesterday, and it got stuck on the apple screen as you turn it on. What's happening is that the phone is turning on, showing the apple symbol, staying on for around 8 seconds, turning off for about 1 or 2 seconds, then repeating. Itunes won't recognise it either. Any suggestions?

Reset, hold both Home and Power buttons until the iphone restarts. If still problem, open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer with USB Cable. Hold both home and power buttons until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode. This takes about 20 seconds of holding both buttons. Click the Restore Button of iTunes.

Valet M10 disconnects modem

I have a DLink DCM-202 cable modem (isp is Comcast) connected to my Valet M10. Once or twice a day the modem will drop connection. It will eventually re-establish connection but the random drops are annoying. If I replace the M10 with my old Linksys WRT54G router the modem never drops a connection and is stable.
Any idea why this is happening?

Bypass the router and connect the computer directly to the cable modem.
Observer the Internet connection and make sure that the Internet is not dropping through the modem.
if the modem is working fine then you can try to reset the M10 router and reconfigure it.
Connect the modem to the Internet port and computer to Ethernet port 1 on the router. Press and hold the reset button on the router for 30 seconds. Release the reset button and wait for 30 seconds. Power cycle the router and reconfigure it manually.

Also change the MTU size to 1365.

Wifi keeps on getting disconnected/ cant turn off iphone/ cant open messages

My wifi keeps on getting disconnected ever since I updated my iphone to ios 7.2
and when I go to settings, when I click wifi, my iphone hangs.
i cant open my messages folder. it just shows a blank page...
and lastly, I cant turn it off. no matter how long I press the power/lock button, nothing happens..
I tried to reset it, but it cant detect my wifi connection, but my mac does..
help??

Control Panel > Power Options > Change Plan Settings (of the selected plan) > Change setting to Never or any other time for putting the Computer to Sleep > Save Changes.

Can't hear keyboard clicks or power turning off after ios 7 upgrade to iPad 2

Prior to upgrading iPad 2 with IOS 7, I could hear keyboard clicks when sending email as well as click associated powering off iPad when closing cover on it. These sounds are no longer heard with IOS 7 installed. Sound settings for keyboard clicks and lock sounds are on. How do I fix this problem?

If you lost sounds for keyboard clicks, games, apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted. If resetting doesn't help, take a look at this.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the control center. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to control center . Tap on the bell icon and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock can be accessed in the same manner as described above.

After logging off I get the message Firefox is still running please disconnect or turn off your computer

When I logg off firefox I cannot logg on until waiting for a couple of minutes.
this is the message I receive....Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system.
I have noticed this problem with other computers being used by other people. Also I cannot open several windows at a time, I always loose rhe original window or web site.

If you try to immediately open Firefox after closing it, you may get this message. I does take a few seconds to completely close.
Sounds like it is hanging when you exit and later try to restart Firefox.

Windows 7 and hp deskjet 3070 constantly disconnects once turned off

i have the above printer and whenever i restart my windows 7 laptop i have to delete the old printer and go thru the process of adding the printer again just to print.
This is driving me mad and making me want to change printer. I have installed it correctly but this keep happening.
Could someone please offer some assistance.

1. What happens when you try to print...do you get any sort of error or does it just not print?
2. How is the printer connected to the PC (usb, wifi, ethernet, etc.)?
3. What drivers are you using, are they from a disc or downloaded from HP? Full or basic?

5th Generation iPod not turning off

OK I saw the other posts for solutions to how to turn the 5th Gen iPod off when it is frozen. I have tried those (standard resetting, plugging it back in and resetting, hitting the forward button and resetting, etc) nothing seems to work - I don't know but hope it is using enough power to deplete the battery. It has been working fine since I got it in December until I downloaded a few new videos and songs from iTunes last night. Anyone else have any suggestions on how to get it to reset?

I am having the exact same problem. Here is a list of things I have tried
1. Resetting by holding down middle button + menu.
2. Connecting Ipod to computer and then disconnecting than turning off
3. Letting battery run dead, recharge Ipod, than disconnect and try and turn off
None of them work!
What do I do in this situation?
Also I am getting a screen that says "FireWire Connections are not Supported. To Transfer songs, connect the USB cable provided" when it is sitting in the dock and stationary, and I only have a USB cable that is connected to my computer.

Photosmart C8180 Power On/Off Itself

The printer started turning itself on when everything was off, and putting on quite a light show. I unplugged it at both ends several times, waited several minutes and then it went through many gyrations of on/off, an error message BA07AF30 or similar sometimes appeared. I finally got it to going after removing/resinstalling all the print cartridges; then, in the middle of a printing a page the power turned off/on. What should I try to get it working normally again?

Throw it in the river and purchase a different brand. I have the same problem with 3 of them. I spent an hour on the phone and paid for nothing. The tech people just down a check list and did the same thing I did before calling tech support. I purchased 4 of them about 15 months ago and within the last three weeks 3 of them will not shut off, they just turn on and off and on and off and never stop..............great product until warranty ran out.........Canon here I come...

Wi-Fi receiver turned off and won't turn back on

Sometime ago, about one or two weeks ago, my MacBook's Wi-Fi receiver is started to acting out. It'll got disconnected and turned off suddenly, and when it's happen, the Wi-Fi receiver won't get back on. Shutdown or restart will solve the problem, but only temporarily. When this happened again, then I need to restart my MacBook again. Any idea what happening here, and how can I solve this problem? Is it a system fault, or already hardware fault?
If I need to replace hardware, I have second question:
The place I lived now and where I bought my MacBook is in different country. I got the 1 year warranty from the seller where I bought the MacBook. The question is, whether this warranty will still take effect if I bring my MacBook for service in my current place, which is a completely different country with where I bought it?
I really hope that this problem can be solved with minimum cost, since it's really painful if I need to restart my Mac whenever this issue happened again.

I don't know if an AASP has access to the same info an actual Apple store does, so if it were me I'd try to bring a copy of the actual receipt. In the US you can check Applecare status online. Not sure about where you're at.

Have an iMac 2008/09 on starting today I have a white screen, an apple icon and a constant rotating sun, nothing else. I've tried turning off and disconnecting and reconnecting the power lead with the same results. Any thoughts? Many thanks Matt

If your iMac came w/system DVDs, do the following:
Disconnect all devices from the computer then do the following:
Boot up from your DVD that originally came w/the iMac while holding down the "c" key.
Select the language you wish to use, and then choose "Disk Utility" from the menu bar.
Your HD should appear in a panel on the left hand side of the window which opens. Select it and then click on the "repair disk" button in the right hand section of the window.
Once this process has been completed restart your computer and repair permissions directly from Disk Utility.
If Disk Utility is unable to complete the repair, you will need to use a stronger 3rd party utility like DiskWarrior, Techtool PRO (not Deluxe) or Drive Genius.
