Validate an unrelated domain in Azure

My Microsoft Partner Account (MAPS Subscription) uses a different email address from my registered domain.  The problem is that I have used my registered domain name in the Azure setup.  As such my domain can
not be validated in Azure.  How can I solve this?

  • Can't use punycode domain on azure website. Getting 404 Not Found.

    I attached punycode domain to azure website using powershell (Set-AzureWebsite).
    Domain is shown is azure output of Get-AzureWebsite and in Azure portal.
    But when I try to access website using domain, I'm getting 404 NotFound azure page.
    When I go to azurewebsites.net domain, I see default website page (OK).

    I found a partial answer - moving the index.html file did make the site accessible - but at a more convoluted URL - so I have edited my question and reposted for further clarification!

  • Recently Added Office 365 Domain to Azure

    We just signed up with Azure and I'm in the process of building it out. We also have an existing Office 365 subscription which we use primarily for email (Exchange 2013 in Office 365). The trouble is that I'm fairly new to Office 365 and a complete noob
    when it comes to Azure, so everything I'm doing to get these two worlds to talk is self taught (we do not have support).
    In an effort to get a head start, in Azure, I have built two servers to be designated as domain controllers and two servers to be designated as application servers; a total of four virtual servers now exist in Azure.  I installed the respective roles
    on each of the servers.
    This morning I finally managed to understand how to link our existing Office 365 domain to Azure; the Office 365 directory now exists in Azure.  Subsequently, I attempted to promote the two virtual servers to domain controllers in the recently added
    directory to no avail.  When I begin the promotion, I select the option to
    Add a domain controller to an existing domain, enter the domain name (Office 365) and the domain admin creds, and then I'm met with the following error:
    An Active Directory domain controller for the domain "name of domain" could not be contacted
    Basically, when I attempt to add this to server to that domain I'm met with an error that no domain controller exists or if I attempt to promote the server to a domain controller I'm met with the error above.  How do I get around it?  How can I
    successfully add either of the newly provisioned virtual servers to the domain?
    Any help you can offer would be great!

    Marcin is correct.
    For better understanding, imagine Windows Azure Active Directory as an Organizational Unit (OU), in which you can manage user accounts and groups, but no any computer accounts. WA AD is for handling authentications, and because Office 365 (which is a SaaS)
    authenticates with WA AD, and an Azure subscription is also using WA AD object for authentications, you can import WA AD of an Office 365 subscription into Azure.
    On the other hand if you build your own network and infrastructure in Azure, and needs a Domain Controller, you need to install a VM with Active Directory Domain Services role.

  • Failed to join domain through Azure's VPN

    HI there,
    I take advantage of Azure as our Active Directory DR site. I configured a VPN between our office and Azure.
    I deployed a Windows Server 2012 R2 vm in Azure, installed ADDS on it and joined this vm to our existing domain in our office . When I promoted this vm to a domain controller, the prerequisite check I always got the following error message.
    Verification of outbound replication failed. Error reading the options property of the NTDS settings. Unknown error (0x8000500c)
    It was ok to join our existing domain through VPN, but it always stopped at this error message and failed to be promoted as a domain controller. Is there anything I should do to the VPN?

    Hi,
    Firstly, please make sure that you have registered the DNS Server for your on-premise domain in Azure virtual network.
    Azure OS drives have write caching enabled. It is recommended to add a second drive which will be a ‘Data Disk’ and the Active Directory NTDS database and SYSVOL should be placed on the new drive
    which will have write caching disabled.
    You can attach an empty disk for the Azure VM, then RDP into the VM and
    create a new partition on the attached data disk and format this partition as a new
    F: NTFS volume for NTDS DIT database, log and SYSVOL folder locations.
    After that, you can install Active Directory Domain Services and promote this server to a Replica Domain Controller in an existing Active Directory domain. For more detailed information, please

  • Second Level Subdomains | wildcard domains on Azure don't work as expected

    Hi,
    We're having issues with the Custom Domain functionality of Azure Websites.
    In short, a wildcard CNAME record has been set up to point to the Azure Website instance:
    *.mydomain.com -> mydomain.azurewebsites.com
    In Azure portal, in the custom domains section, the wildcard is also set up with a valid entry
    e.g. *.mydomain.com (record in custom domains section).
    Problem:
    visiting www.level2.mydomain.com results in a 404 error from Azure 'Error 404 - Web Site not found!' etc.
    Every other single-level subdomain gets through fine e.g. level1.mydomain.com is fine.
    Question:
    Are we doing something unsupported here?
    Thanks in advance,
    H

    Hi Petr,
    Many thanks for your response!
    With the knowledge that double wildcard certificates are not supported with Azure Websites, I set up a simple test to see if second-level subdomains would work on Azure Websites
    without SSL.
    Test:
    - a template MVC5 app, no SSL endpoint binding and a single custom domain *.mydomain.com.
    - Home controller index action with a simple redirect to another site
    - published to a Shared Azure Website instance
    - DNS entry from *.mydomain.com to <azurewebsitename>.azurewebsites.net
    - wait for everything to propogate
    Result:
    - 'Error 404 - Web Site not found!' on Azure when navigating to www.secondlevel.mydomain.com
    - Successful redirect when navigating to random.mydomain.com (where random is
    not an explicitly mapped subdomain in the DNS service: therefore, wildcard catchall is working as expected for single-level wildcard subdomains)
    Assessment:
    The non-support of second-level subdomains is not restricted to the fact that Azure Websites don't support double wildcard certificates? The issue extends to Azure Website's non-support of double wildcard Custom Domains?
    Thanks,
    H

  • Using Azure VM as domain

    I am trying to connect to a domain i have created using a windows azure vm but dont want to have to change my dns server settings? Please help.

    Hi,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you have deployed a domain in Azure VMs, right? If yes, how did you configure the DNS servers on the Azure domain? Did you have a DNS server and a domain on your local network?
    In general, to connect to the Azure AD from the on-premise domain, you may need to point the DNS server on the Azure domain to the same DNS server on your on-premise domain and create a site-to-site VPN connection between your on-premise network and Azure virtual
    network.

  • Domain trying to validate against an incorrect server

    Hi Guys,
    I have a hosted exhcange cluster that has many many many domains all administered by a DC where each domain is an OU under a main OU called Hosting.
    For some reason, a few mailboxes of a certain OU (not all the mailboxes) are tryong to validate against the domain associated with that OU. Meaning that if for example, The people in that OU has a domain called abcd.com and my mailserver is myexchange.com,
    Those specific mailboxes are triying to connect to abcd.com and not to the mail server. I can't think of anything that might cause such a bizzare error. Any ideas?

    Still I think, I need more info/not able to understand the real issue :)
    1. Are you facing the autoconfiguration issue for other mailboxes also?
    2. Do you have Outlook anywhere enabled? If so, do an outlook connectivity test through
    www.testconnectivity.Microsoft.com
    3. if the domain name selection box is grayed out, still you can enter the name like domainname\username and password
    Regards from Visit ExchangeOnline |
    Visit WindowsAdmin
    1) No, only some mailboxes on this specific domain.
    2) The connectivity test passed succesfully
    3) It shoudln't be connecting to a domain to begin with, it lists their domain as the server it tries to connect to! it should be connecting to the exchange server and no the client's FQDN.

  • Problem with custom validated data types using domain on 11g

    Hi,
    I ' m on a migration process from 10 to 11 and I notice that a custom domain didn't work correctly anymore
    to be more specific every time that I was submiting a page a was getting an error cannot convert from myclass to oracle.jbo.domain.String
    I search the forum and I saw a similar problem
    Cannot convert type class java.lang.String to class oracle.jbo.domain.Clob
    at which Frank says that it is a known bug and suggests a work around.
    I use the workaround and it worked but some more issues came up:
    1. If the validation fails I get the error that I throw at the validate method not in a popup with just my message
    but in the whole window with the whole error stack, meaning that my custom validation is not handled like native ADF validation errors by
    the framework (at 10.1.3.4 worked OK)
    2 If i dont give a value at the attribute in the validation phase mdata variable is not null but is length is zero (at 10.1.3.4 its value was null)
    public class AFM implements DomainInterface, Serializable {
    public AFM(String val) {
    mData = new String(val);
    validate();
    private String mData;
    protected void validate() {
    // ### Implement custom domain validation logic here. ###
    mData==null // returns false
    mData.length()==0 // returns true
    3. Can i force validation only for new or updated values? I saw that the validation process is taking place every time a row is fetched.
    This is not only a performance issue, the bigger problem is that if a fetched from the DB value fails the validation an error is return but the
    user cannot change the value to correct it.
    TIA
    Tilemahos

    since i don't get any answer I wonder if i should have use a more provocative title like
    "custom domains in 11g don't work"
    is it true?

  • Getting an error while validating with the help of domain

    This is strange. I am validating an email address column in employees table by creating a domain and then associating it with the email column in the table. This is the code
        protected void validate() {
            //  ### Implement custom domain validation logic here. ###
            int atpos = mData.indexOf('@');
            int dotpos = mData.lastIndexOf('.');
            if (atpos > -1 || dotpos > -1) {
                throw new DataCreationException(null, "Invalid Email Address", null);
        }But while committing records, I am receiving the following error:
    Cannot convert testmailid of type class java.lang.String to class model.common.DomainEmail
    Can anyone help me?
    Oh yes, I am using JDev 11.1.2.3

    I suspect that you are using an <af:inputText> with no converter for entering the email on the page. The purpose of a converter would be to convert the String value entered by the user in the field to another datatype (e.g. to model.common.DomainEmail type) which is expected by the model layer (e.g. by the target VO attribute). If there is no such converter, JSF does not perform any datatype conversion and it tries to assign the java.lang.String value to the VO attribute (which is of model.common.DomainEmail datatype), so a type casting error occurs. If that is the case, then you should implement and attach a proper JSF converter to the <af:inputText> component.

  • Can I convert data inputted to Uppercase by using a EO/VO domain?

    I am running version 10.1.3.1.0.3984 of JDeveloper and Release 10.1.3.1.26 of JHeadStart. I am trying to mimic a feature that we used extensively in our previous tool so I'm not sure that it can be done this way, but was wondering if I can use an Entity Object or View Object Domain at the Model Layer as the method to convert certain Text Inputted values into Upper Case. I have searched these forums and have not seen it done this way and we are persuing utilizing an Oracle Trigger solution, but wanted to ask this question.
    When I create a Domain at the Entity Object Layer by selecting New --> Domain, I get the following code which is standard
    package its.sis.entities.UWDomains.common;
    import java.io.Serializable;
    import java.lang.Object;
    import oracle.jbo.JboException;
    import oracle.jbo.Transaction;
    import oracle.jbo.domain.DomainInterface;
    import oracle.jbo.domain.DomainOwnerInterface;

    public UWUpperDomain(String val) {
    mData = new String(val);
    validate();
    private String mData;
    protected UWUpperDomain() {
    mData = "";
    public Object getData() {
    return mData();
    /**<b>Internal:</b> <em>Applications should not use this method.</em>
    public void setContext(DomainOwnerInterface owner, Transaction trans,
    Object obj) {
    /**Implements domain validation logic and throws a JboException on error.
    protected void validate() {
    // ### Implement custom domain validation logic here. ###
    public String toString() {
    if (mData != null) {
    return mData.toString();
    return "<null>";
    public boolean equals(Object obj) {
    if (obj instanceof DomainInterface) {
    if (mData != null) {
    return mData.equals(((DomainInterface)obj).getData());
    return ((DomainInterface)obj).getData() == null;
    return false;
    I, in my limited Java knowledge (very limited) tried to customize this code with the following highlighted change
    public Object getData() {
    return mData.toUpperCase();
    This did not produce the results I had hoped for i.e. everytime that any Entity Object is defined with this domain, that whatever is typed into it is converted to Upper Case.
    Is this possible with this type of domain? I'd appreciate any input/clarification.
    Thanks very much

  • Verify custom domain

    Hi
    I tried to verifying my domain ccotinc.com but always got "Could not verify this domain because it was previously configured for your tenant or for another tenant."
    The domain is kept at 1and1.ca and the domain is configuration to work with Office 365
    I register TXT record in DNS
    aaaa.com  3599 IN TXT "MS=ms22220000"
    Regards,
    Ovidiu Timpanariu

    Hello,
      Unfortunately as of now you cannot add the same domain in different microsoft services at present. If you have alreaady added the domain inot one of the Microsoft services, when you try to add it to another service portal, the server will find the domain
    records and prevent the domain.
      I would recommend you submit
    Feedback to engineering team.
      You will have to remove and Update the DNS records at the Providers end to be able to use it in Azure Websites Service.
      Refer to the following links on how to Add Custom Domain to Azure Websites.

  • Envelope sender domain could not be resolved

    For this error:
    Apr 23 18:11:07 2008 Info: ICID 815272710 Address: <nurmaria> sender rejected, envelope sender domain could not be resolved
    If the domain has multiple MX(es) record. I.e cardig.com has :
    cardig.com mail is handled by 10 mail.cardig.com.
    cardig.com mail is handled by 10 mail2.cardig.com.
    Does Ironport check all the mx(es) first then reject if one of them is not exists?
    Or just query it once (first match mx or first low priority mx)?
    TIA.

    I think that the problem is not related to MX records existence or priority.
    The error you found occurs when a DNS server does not provide an answer to the query your appliance send when checking the sender.
    Suppose that a remote SMTP server connect to your appliance and send a "MAIL FROM: user @ domain.com" SMTP command; at this point your appliance checks whether "domain.com" exists or not and therefore asks for a MX record for "domain.com" to the DNS you configured. The DNS in turn searches for an authoritative DNS for "domain.com" and then sends it a query for the MX records of "domain.com"; if it doesn't get an answer your appliance cannot validate the sender domain and rejects the connection with the error you reported.
    In your example this means that the appliance didn't even know that the MX for cardig.com were "mail.cardig.com" and "mail1.cardig.com", but rather that the DNS server didn't get that information from the authoritative DNS server of "cardig.com".
    Hope this helps.

    So, I created ABCViewObject (Rows populated programmatically ,not based on sql query ) and then created viewAttributes accordingly to get the above xsd structure.
    ABCViewObject
    AttibuteName                                 DataType
    UseCaseId String
    ActivityType String
    ActivitySubType String
    SiebelInputParams model.util.SiebelInputParameters
    WebPageParams model.util.WebPageParameters
    I made my method to return List<ABCViewRowImpl> type. That was fine. I could see the method available, in the list of 'Custom methods' while creating service interface.
    But the problem is, after I select the type for the 'util.List' of my return type for my custom method, I could not proceed to 'Next'. The error I get is
    'Java Type model.util.model.util.SiebelInputParameters referenced by SiebelInputParams is currently not supported'
    Kindly help me in this regard.

    This time the command is as is from the source. So please execute the command as is, with double quotes copied as in the command below.
    /opt/novell/eDirectory/bin/ldapsearch -x -h <ip address of frd> -e /etc/opt/novell/certs/SSCert.der -D "<tree admin>" -w "<tree password>" -b "<dn to be mapped>" -s base dn -LLL >/dev/null
    If the command has return value 0 instead of 2, you can execute provisionTools.sh command with sh -x option just before the script. Then see the exact ldapsearch command being called.
    Also, are their any special characters or spaces in container to be mapped, tree password, or tree admin name? Though most of special characters are supported, there might be bug in this portion of script.

    SunOS hostname 5.10 Generic_127128-11 i86pc i386 i86pcBy doing telnet to port 25 on server or AV/AS gateway which is used as SMTP server, I am able to send the mail with some invalid email id, for example
    msg from: abc or msg from: [email protected], where xyz.com doesn't exist.
    I want to validate the sender domain, how could we force to do that and should not allow sending the mail.
    I tried adding keyword "spfmailfrom" in channels like tcp_local, however I had not created any SPF_LOCAL list in mappings.
    We have multiple domains hosted here.
    Thanks,
