Validating software licence problem

When I open an application the validating software licence screen just keeps re-opening over and over again. It was working fine 2 days ago. Can't open premiere or any app. Deleted opm.db file and tried numerous other things but still wont open. Have a client sat here waiting to edit! How the hell is this professional software? It's a fresh install and my subscription is less than a month old.

  • 'iTunes Software Licence Agreement' every time I open iTunes

    Since the most recent iTunes update, I'm getting the 'iTunes Software Licence Agreement' window every time I open iTunes (screenshot - http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/5265/68707078.png) -- to which I have to select 'agree' to access normally.
    Why? And anyway to stop this?
    Thanks in advance.

    *Replying to Gareth L*
    Though on my own account, its still comming up with the "set up" screens before it starts.. any other ideas i could try?
    iTunes setup assistant runs every time you launch, user-account-specific issue ... I think your other set of iTunes preference files (in your normal user account) might be damaged, Gareth. (Have experimented with this on my XP PC ... rebuild one set and the license agreement runs, rebuild the other set and the iTunes Setup assistant runs. So damage to the 'other" set might be causing your relentless-setup-assistant thing.)
    So, we'll try swapping out your other set of pref files. Here's Windows 7 instructions. Make a note of any custom preferences you have set up, because this procedure will return everything to default that wasn't returned to default by rebuilding the other set. You might also have to reinstall any third-party iTunes add-ons/plug-ins after doing this one, too.
    Here's Windows 7 instructions for rebuilding "the other set" *(Step 10* contains the crucial difference from the license-agreement-problem instructions).
    First, quit iTunes if you have it open.
    Next, you'll need to make sure you are set up to view hidden files and folders in Vista (or 7).
    1. From the Start menu, click Open.
    2. In the Organize menu, click Folder and Search Options.
    3. Click the View tab.
    4. In the "Advanced settings" pane under "Hidden files and folders" make sure that the "Show hidden files and folders" option is selected.
    5. Click OK.
    Next, you'll remove the iTunes preference folder (and contained file).
    6. In Computer, open Local Disk: C or whichever drive your documents are stored on.
    7. Open the Users folder.
    8. Open the folder with the name of the Vista (or 7) user account in which iTunes always shows the setup assistant in when launching.
    9. Open the AppData folder.
    10. Open the Roaming folder.
    11. Open the Apple Computer folder.
    12. Drag the iTunes folder out onto the Desktop.
    Now you'll rebuild the preference folder and file.
    13. Launch iTunes. This will cause iTunes to rebuild that preference folder and file. *The setup assistant will appear for you again.* (That is expected behavior when that particular preference folder and contained file are being rebuilt.)
    14. Now quit iTunes and launch iTunes again. If the preference folder and contained file have been successfully rebuilt, the setup assistant should not appear this time.
    ... any luck with that?

    hi Shaun!
    after installing the update for iTunes, it doesn't run (comp makes noises but nothing comes up on screen). when i open task manager itunes is running as a process, but i can't end process.
    hmmm. okay, Norton is still our prime suspect here. that "running itunes.exe process that will not die" symptom is associated with the nastier versions of the NIS 2005 launch suppression problems. (people who get that also often see things like looooooong sloooooow shutdown times on the PCs and odd end program dialog boxes.)
    let's try throwing the trusty Lorraine M technique at the beast. (it usually fixes the nastier versions of the NIS 2005 problems.)

  • Acrobat Pro X -- Blank Software Licence Agreement

    Hi There,
    I downloaded Acrobat X Pro from the Adobe Application Manager. It installed correctly. When I launch it, the "Adobe Software Licence Agreement" appears, but contains nothing (see attached screenshot) and the "Accept" button doesn't works -- "Quit" closes the dialog and the program.
    How can I re-install the program or make it work?
    Thanks in advance,
    JM

    Hi Rave,
    Thanks for the quick answer, that was helpful. I followed the steps and solved the problem.
    I still got a couple of questions:
    On Step 5: "Activate your CCM application by doing the following: launch it and select License This Software to enable the CCM product again." Where do I find this "License This Software" to activate it again?
    The Adobe Application Manager is now showing "Adobe Acrobat XI Pro" as if it wasn't installed (the Install) button is active. Is this normal? Will the subsequent updates follow up?
    Thanks in advance,

  • Software Licence Transfer Debacle

    As we all know we now have to activate our software when we
    install it. But did you know there are limits on the amount of
    times you may transfer your license?
    Now as I understand it, when I purchased my Macromedia
    software I purchased a license that would never expire providing I
    did not breach the conditions of the software license. I also know
    that I may install the software and activate it on two computers
    legally at any one time providing I never use both installs
    concurrently.
    I own my own two copies which I install and uninstall
    regularly... always making sure that I transfer the activation
    prior to de-installing and moving to the next job. (As I understand
    it this process was supposed to mean that Adobe/Macromedia could
    track my software and through the transfer feature I would never be
    in a situation where I was exceeding the number of legally
    activated installations).
    Imagine my surprise when I tried to transfer my license
    lately when I was told that I had exceeded the number of
    "Transfers". The first thing I did was call the Adobe activation
    centre where I was informed that an "error" had occurred... which
    is a load of rubbish as I have been in this situation once before.
    Macromedia set a limit on the amount of transfers you could
    do but failed to tell anyone about it in the software licence
    documentation. The last time I had to go through this Macromedia
    was still Macromedia and I was told the following:
    Installs: 25 Transfers maximum
    Re-Installs: 100 Transfers maximum
    Give Backs: 10 maximum
    This time I was told that I had an "error" and that the only
    way I could re-install my software would be to call up when I want
    to activate it the next time. So in future it begs the question of
    if I can no longer transfer my activation, how many times are Adobe
    going to just take my word for it and activate my software again.
    My license says that it expires "never"... yeah right...
    provided I "never" want to upgrade my computer.
    The next question is when will Adobe drop the ball and
    gradually stop allowing us to use the software we purchased a legal
    right to use.
    ....am I the only one that this does not make any sense to?
    did anyone else see any details of this when they read their
    software license?
    I am disgusted to find that these limits are in place.
    Providing I activate and transfer my activation each time I should
    be able to do this as often as I like since each time
    Adobe/Macromedia should be able to track that it is the same serial
    number that is being activated and transferred each time. This
    makes a mockery of a license that expires "never" since if for some
    reason the folks at Adobe/Macromedia decide to not extend your
    amount of transfers you are #@%&*ed!
    Well that's my rant and short of a class action what are you
    gonna do... be warned though.

    Hi Judy
    Can you tell me if you have been through the process in the
    tech note you directed me to?
    I just had a couple of interesting experiences with Adobe
    activation support and I am curious about your experiences. I just
    upgraded one of my computers to Leopard and it toasted my
    activation and then I began receiving the activation error again
    while trying to get it to re-activate.
    In the screen that the tech note refers to, it provides
    localised phone numbers for users to call. In Australia one of the
    numbers is disconnected and the other transfers to the standard
    Adobe Activation system...
    When I did get a person to talk to the first time, I was told
    that FreeHand is not supported under Leopard and therefore they did
    not have to help me activate it. I questioned this and was then put
    on hold and then hung up on.
    The next time I called the person I spoke to had no knowledge
    of the tech note you refer to, after I gave her the serial number
    the software mysteriously activated without any problem the next
    time I was asked to try... this is despite repeated attempts over a
    number of days testing.
    I don't want to get into conspiracy theories or anything,
    however it would appear that Adobe is actively trying to make the
    software difficult to activate in order to drive users to
    Illustrator instead and effectively terminate the license by
    default.
    If anyone else runs into this problem I would suggest that
    they say they are running OS X 10.3 or 10.4 regardless of what
    version they happen to be using. Adobe are trying to use OS X 10.5
    as a way to not have to continue providing activation support which
    by default renders your software license null if you can't activate
    it under the newer OS's.
    They could solve this by not forcing us to activate, however
    then users would not be forced to buy Illustrator when things don't
    work.
    Another possibility is that internally Adobe will simply turn
    off activation (quietly) and force people to call and go through an
    agonising phone call with activation support etc. This will also
    have the net effect of making your licence unusable and drive
    people to cross-grade to Illustrator and spend more $$$.
    Adobe should really provide us with an alternative to
    activation but being the type of company they are, Im sure this
    will be the last option they offer unless it becomes a legal
    dispute.
    Just in case they terminate this thread Im going to mirror it
    elsewhere just to be sure they can't brush FreeHand users under the
    carpet through this interesting and devious method of not honouring
    the original licenses.
    Let me know if you can add any other info.
    Cheers

  • Software licence agreement

    I just got an 80gb ipod classic and the software licence agreement appears in the itunes screen every time I plug it in. I check off the I agree button and hit save, but it just goes back to that screen after saving. Is there a certain place I should try saving the file to? My ipod won't sync or anything, so I'm assuming that the licence agreement is the problem.

    Hmmmm. Working from the basis that it can cause all manner of other odd symptoms, it might be worth checking to see if you're getting a Windows drive letter confusion, as per the following document:
    Windows confuses iPod with network drive or hard drive and may keep iPod from mounting or songs may seem to disappear

  • SAP PA - Licence problem? Automated Analysis Buttons grayed out

    Hi guys,
    i recently installed SAP Predictive Analytics 2.0 and used it two weeks ago. Now i tried to continue my work with it and launched the application. The buttons for analysis are grayed out now, for instance, i can't click on "create a classification model":
    I tought it have to be a licence problem and launched the expert mode, had 10 days left and added a new key (now: 60 days). I didn't solved my problem so i changed the keycode in cfg file (C:\Program Files\SAP Predictive Analytics\Desktop 2.0). It didn't solved the problem either.
    Anyone can help me with that problem?

    Hi again
    Thanks for the added information.
    It seems the key code is not enabling the automated analytic features, at least per the way the product is behaving.
    See http://scn.sap.com/thread/3578771 for a thread where the result in the product is the same.
    I recommend two things:
    Please double check your key and potentially ask one again using the site here: Keys | SAP Support Portal. Please note there atre keys enabling (or not) different features. There is a slide detailing this here: http://scn.sap.com/community/predictive-analysis/blog/2015/03/20/predictive-analytics-20-what-is-new-asug-webcast
    If this fails still, please log a support ticket.
    Best regards,
    Antoine

  • Accepting Adobe Software Licence Agreement

    Hi,
    Does anyone know why I have to continually accept the Adobe Software Licence Agreement?
    In the past few weeks, anytime after i have shut my computer down, I am askewd to accept the Adobe Software Licence Agreement when I reopen any of the CC applications.
    In some cases, I also have to go through the process to register this product.
    I have been using CC for about 7 months and have not had this issue before.
    Regards,
    Matthew

    Hi Matt,
    It might be somehow related to permissions is not allowing changes to get saved properly. You might try right-clicking and choosing Run as Administrator when launching all apps that are prompting with the License Agreement and see if it continues to happen.

  • Date validation 'validateDateTimeRange ' giving problem

    Hello Guys,
    We are using ADF 11g(11.1.1.2).
    Here we are trying to validate the date using validateDateTimeRange to validate the date.
    <af:inputDate id="dateLaborIt" required="true"
    binding="#{ClaimsBean.dateLaborPerformedI}">
    *<af:validateDateTimeRange maximum="#{ClaimsBean.currentDate}"*
    *minimum="#{ClaimsBean.purchaseDate}"/>*
    </af:inputDate>
    Occatinally this validation giving me problem when the min and max dates are equal.
    It is giving the validation error as:
    Error : The date is outside the valid Range
    the date must be between "6/25/2011" and "6/25/2011".
    Can any body help me in resolving this issue.
    Regards
    Ahamed

    This is the code that is being generated. The error is occuring on thie line
    var value = field.value;
    The problem is obvious, since the field does not exist it can't get the value... I would like to avoid having to write my own validateDate method..
    function validateDate(form) {
           var bValid = true;
           var focusField = null;
           var i = 0;
           var fields = new Array();
           var formName = form.getAttributeNode("name");
           oDate = eval('new ' + formName.value + '_DateValidations()');
           for (x in oDate) {
               var field = form[oDate[x][0]];
               var value = field.value;
               var datePattern = oDate[x][2]("datePatternStrict");
               // try loose pattern
               if (datePattern == null)
                   datePattern = oDate[x][2]("datePattern");

  • Ipod software licence agreement

    I need help!!!! I have downloaded itunes and connected my ipod and the ipod software licence agreement appeared on the right of the screen. I clicked on agree and save and nothing happens. I clicked on cancel and my ipod no longer appeared in the devices window. If I don't click on cancel the agreement words stay and I can look around the pages but can't sync the ipod. I'm so sick. I've removed itunes and started again but still the same. I tried to restore factory settings to ipod but can't access that cos itunes doesn'r recognise the ipod. Please, please someone help me. I'm going crazy.

    Are you seeing a Continue button anywhere? Click the little Agree box then the Continue button, there's no need to save the agreement. If you aren't seeing all the buttons try increasing your screen resolution to at least 1024x768 so you can see the whole page, you'll find the instructions on this Microsoft page: Windows XP - Change your monitor resolution

  • IPod updater software download problem

    Hi. I got the !/folder icon on my Nano. Plugged it into my computer and reset it (but still get !/folder). Got a message that software version 1.1 was available. Am unable to download software. When I click the "download iPod updater software" button on the ipod updater download webpage, the download dialogue starts but no progress is made in the download. I've tried many times (using both the "save to folder" option and the "run" option, but the download stops as soon as it begins [little icons of pieces of paper fly through the air and into a folder but no data!]. I waited overnight in case the download site was swamped and tried again, but the same thing happened. What could be the problem?
    1. Reset your iPod. Check
    2. Retry with a different USB port. Check
    3. Restart your computer. Check
    4. Reinstall iPod and iTunes software. Problem!
    5. Restore your iPod.
    What to do? What next?

    Using the updater to install the new software solved the problem with the iPod, BTW.

  • WCS Licence Problem

    Hello;
    We have base licence for 100 AP on WCS. In our network we have 75 Cisco Aironet 1242AG series AP.
    But WCS give a error like "Percent of AP Licenses Used: Violation".
    When we look at the AP count, we see that there is a two record for each AP. One of them is 802.11a, the other is 802.11b/g but AP name is same for two record.
    We dont use 802.11a, so we dont need it.
    How could we solve this licence problem ?
    Thanks.

    the software licence agreement with my new IPOD prohibits use on a non apple branded computer (yeah, I know, no one reads these things) therefore, as I read the agreement, I am not allowed to install the software on teh CD that came with my new IPOD onto my computer - Interestingly enough, if I run just the itunes installer from the CD and not the "autorun" file, then I get a different licence agreement.
    Will Apple compuer company please formally state that the supplied software may be installed on a non Apple branded computer

    here is the section to which I was referring - it popped up when I first inserted the CD, and it runs when you install the IPOD updater - see the first sentence.
