Validation in SAP Regional structure

Hi All,
I have a situation here.
If the Postal department of a country sends a record(address) which is either to be added or deleted in the SAP Regional structure, but my client(ISU company) wants somebody from his team to review or validate that address record before it is updated in the Regional structure.
This is because they think that they might be a year or so ahead from the Postal department in terms of addresses and might either have that record already present in the system or do not want to delete it as it might impact their assets on that address.
Could anyone tell me what all validations can be done corresponding to that record and what is the procedure for the same.We are only updating the Postal Codes,Streets and the Cities through the SAP standard report RSADRLSM02.
Remember that the person reviewing or validating the address will not have much knowledge of SAP,so he would expect some user friendly approach to do this.
Kindly suggest some feasible approach for the same.
Regards,
Puneet Jhari.

I have a question related to address validation / verification. We want to understand the extent of checks SAP offers by using RSADRLSM02.
We have been suggested by some to go with external software for address checks as opposed to using SAP regional structures.
We are looking for some feedback from customers who have used SAP regional structures before we proceed one way or the other.
Would you mind sharing your experience or point me to a contact ?
Thanks

  • Regional structure in Sales Orders

    Hello,
I'm trying to use the regional structure functionality in SAP. It allows users to find a city when enterring a postal code and vice versa. My concern is that it seems applicable when we want to enter or change an address in Sales Orders because (and it's hardcoded) several fields (eg city field) are mandatory in the SO addresses.
Why add this functionality if it can't be used?
Note 582851 has apparently been replaced by note 1469064. Did you succeed to use regional structures in Sales Orders? Is there any way to succeed?
    Best regards,
    Catherine MICHEL

Catherine, I have not used this functionality, but it seems that note 582851 is still very much valid and contains instructions how to perform a modification to make City field not required. 1469064 is a KB article that just explains that some fields are hard-coded and the other note explains how to remove the hard-coding.
So if you ask an ABAPer to follow the note 582851 then it should work, I think. Please be aware though that this is a modification, so SAP won't support it and it may need to be re-applied with every upgrade.
As far as "why add this functionality" - I guess that's just how SAP rolls.

  • Validation table for region/sales district/postal code combination

    Hi Folks,
Is there any validation table for region/sales district/postal code combination? As I am looking for some standard functionality where a user if puts a wrong zip code/ postal code for a specifc city or country while creation of customer master then system should not allow and throws any kind of error or warning message.
Please let me know if there is somethiong like this.
I have some failt idea that we have something in standard SAP where we get a pop warning where postal code-country and postal code-city combination does not exist.
Please let me know the transcation code and table name for that.
    Thanks and cheers,
    Sandy

    Hello,
I'm not aware of any settings for this which include sales district.  For the rest a few spots to look at:
-SAP NetWeaver>General Settings-->Set Country-Specific Checks (some controls for postal code per country)
-SAP NetWeaver>General Settings-->Set Country-Insert Regions (country to region ties)
---Flexible Real Estate Management >Address Management>Regional Structure/City File-->Cities (have not worked with this area but you'll see several nodes for dealing with cities here).
    Hope this helps.

  • Automatic import mass data regional structure -  Program RSADRLSM01

    Hello,
regarding the automatic import mass data to the regional structure via
program RSADRLSM02, we are working in order to replace our third party
    provider.
That is why, we need to deleted all the data imported from the city
file and the references before to import new provider data.
We have checked the SAP procedure defined in SAP note 132948 and the
mentioned program RSADRLSM01 but we need confirm that the regional estructure informed in the old documents saved in the system could be impacted if the program RSADRLSM01 is executed.
Any experience in this kind of process?
    Thanks in advance.

Since no one has replied - why not just try this in your test system and see what happens?

  • Failure: Exchange regional Text from ECC to CRM (regional structure)

    Hi all,
we exchange the Employee from ECC (HR) to CRM and we have very often failure because of the potal code text in CRM is different and therefore it will not be exchanged and stayes in the queue.
(The function module is called: HRALXSYNC - the job is called ZS_ZN_120_T:HRALXSYNC = is a copy of the original job ...)
A colleague told me there is a regional structure which must be set up identical in both systems. I do not no were I need to search for this settings for the correct postal code text - regional exchange ?
    Do you have any ideas?
    Best regards, Ann

    Dear Denis,
    thank you for your replay
The challenge is that we have a list of 100 employees which could not be assigend because the system check against the regional structure wich is activated by country and it seems not unique (HR -CRM). That means simply in SAP HR the name of the place called Schlieren bei Köniz and SAP CRM the Name of the place called Schlieren b. Köniz, therefore the record will not be exepted, this is the list of failure in CRM:
#5517#5Ort Schliern in country CH not exist
#5517#5Ort Rohr AG in country CH not exist
#5517#5Ort Muri b.Bern in country CH not exist
    ... so on ...
I have checked the entry in the table T005 -> SPRO: Set country-specific checks
and for country CH is field "City file active" set in both systems (HR and CRM)
    - > but maybe, this is the problem? Do you have any ideas?

  • How can  i use Regional structure grouping for responsible determination?

    Hi,
We are working on a projet that requires to slip the cities of a geographical area into zones. each zone is made of full or partial streets (its a specific zone repartition).
We are trying to use Regional structure grouping to name each zone and to be able to determine which agent is responsible for which client (depending in which zone he or she lives). We would like the agent determation to trigger in an opportunity or a Lead.
SAP help information says that using Regional structure grouping is helpful for responsible determination but i can't figure out how. I couldn't manage to assign an organisational data (ppoma_crm) to a Regional structure group and i could not get a rule (TR CODE PFAC) to work while using partner number and the field ADRC-REGIOGROUP.
We plan to inject in SAP the listing of full addresses of an area (streets, street number, zip code, cities) so that they will be available from a matchcode in BP transaction. the "zone" layout is sensitive to street numbers because a street can start in a zone and end in the next zone. This layout is specific to our customer so we have to name it, zone by zone. That's why we thought using Regional structure grouping.
Maybe i made it wrong or maybe the Regional structure grouping has nothing to do with what we want.
Does any body knows where i could find some information about how to use Regional structure grouping in details?
    Many Thanks

  • IS-U = Maintain Political Regional Structure

    Hi all,
I'm new to IS-U. As a beginner i'm facing a problem in understanding the functionality of "Maintaning the Hierarchy" in the Political Regional Structure. Can someone explain this in simple and understandable terms using a real life example if possible.
    Regards,
    Marvin

After a lot of time i heard something from the Regional structuring:
Well, i try to address this with a scenario; hope will be helpful:
(I assume that you are quite clear about the regional structuring here )
In the political regional structure, you model political/administrative units in an hierarchical structure. By means of the address in the postal regional structure, you can allocate elements of the political structure to IS-U master data (to the connection object or business partner, for example).
Now maintained political structuring has 2 parts:
    1. Maintain hierarchy
    2. Maintain elements
1>> Hierarchy is just the place holder for the elements to be maintained in the step 2, hierarchy helps to form a structure of administrative model of a country. e.g
Country = US and the administrative model of each state differs, so i'll make the hierarchy as a header of the STATE (01) followed by the rest of the structure :->
    Hierarchy :
    01 state
           05 county
               06 city
                   07 city district
Based on this model, now i can generate the hierarchy for almost all the States of the US, provided they follow this hierarchal model.
here is the example of the california:
    state      California                                          00000001
        cty        San Francisco County                            00000002
            city       San Francisco                                   00000004
                city distr Sunset District                             00000005
                city distr Mission District                            00000006
                city distr Castro District                              00000007
                city distr Haight-Ashbury District                 00000008
city distr North Beach District                     00000009
                city distr Richmond District                        00000010
                city distr Marina District                             00000011
                city distr SOMA District                             00000012
Now you might be wondering what is the significance of this:
Well, if you remember that once you create Premise/Connection Object which asks for the address entry; you can specify the element number at that time. It helps to integrate both the regional and political structure. and based on the element number it can form the complete address as well.........isn't amazing?
That's the SAP is all about......
Hope answer will be helpful. don't hesitate to ask again if it doesn't clear your doubt.
    Best Regards,
    Amit Sharma

  • CCS ISU: Regional Structure - REGIONAL STRUC GROUP & TAX JURISDICATION CODE

    Hi there
I am working for a Canadian utility company running CCS-ISU running version SAP ERP 6.04 with Enhancement Package 4 on NetWeaver 7.02.  We are looking to update the POSTAL REGIONAL STRUCTURE and have some questions concerning the Regional Structure Group (REGIOGROUP) and Tax Jurisdiction (TAXJURCODE) fields.
We are planning on using data provided by Canada Post to update the Postal Regional Structure, unfortunately Canada Post cannot provide the information that is stored in the Tax Jurisdication Code and Regional Structure Group/District Code.  The current data we have stored in these fields is outdated and sometimes missing.  We would like to update the Postal Regional Structure without these two fields as it would greatly simplify the update and maintenance of the Postal Regional Structure.
    Questions:
    1. What are the downstream impacts to the CCS-ISU if we do not store the Tax Jurisdiction Code and Regional Structure Group in the Postal Regional Structure?
We know that 3rd party non energy accounts will default the TAXJURCODE and REGIOGROUP from the Regional Structure if the data is available.  If it is not, then the data must be manually entered onto the account.  For regular accounts, the system will use the TAXJURCODE and REGIOGROUP that flows through from the Service Address.  Are there any other downstream processes that rely on the TAXJURCODE and REGIOGROUP being in the Regional Structure tables?
    2. Will there be any impacts to Financials?
    3. What data have other companies used to populate the Tax Jurisdiction and Regional Structure Group fields and how has this data been obtained?
    Thanks kindly
    Jeanette Lau

    1. What are the downstream impacts to the CCS-ISU if we do not store the Tax Jurisdiction Code and Regional Structure Group in the Postal Regional Structure?
If you store the data at postal regional structure....these are defaulted at the respective screens connection object, move in screens.
Here u can validate the adress at the time of move in.
if u dont maintain the data at postal regional strucutre.....if  these are required fields then u need to enter manually. If tax jurisdiction code activated then u need to enter the TJC.
    2. Will there be any impacts to Financials?
Tax Jurisdicton code has an affect if u hve region specific taxation.
    3. What data have other companies used to populate the Tax Jurisdiction and Regional Structure Group fields and how has this data been obtained?
check the objects connection object, premise, movein screens, and FPE1 screens.

  • Regional Structure Re-Check

    Hello Everyone,
I had a look at the report RSADRRS01, which basically lists all addresses that have failed the regional structure check by looking at the ADRC-CHCKSTATUS field. If I got it right, the report RSADRRS01 does not do a comparision against the regional structure but only a lookup on the ADRC-CHCKSTATUS.
My question is that after extracting the list and maintaining the missing streets/cities/post codes in the regional structure, is there a report available to ADRC-CHCKSTATUS field by doing a fresh comparison against the regional structure.
    Kind regards,
    Gaurav

    Hi Gaurav,
There are quarterly adjustment reports provided by SAP that can be used to check postal addresses with regional structure
    1.RSADRQU1
    2.RSADRQU2
    3.RSADRQU3
You can find further details on these reports at the following link.

  • Regional Structure Groupings

    Hi,
Does someone know if it is possible to transfer Regional Structure Groupings from R/3 to SRM ussing some kind of load? Or how to disable the check on this field in SRM?
Due to address management Regional Structure Groupings are being assigned to vendors in R/3, and when I make a BBPGETVD transfer, the vendors are not accepted due to "Regional Structure Group does not exists" in SRM.

    Hi Anders,
we are working with SAP SRM 6.0 and SAP R/3 4.6 and have the same problems.
We don't want to transfer any Regional Structure Groupings, and we don't know why is mandatory.
In another project (with SAP SRM 5.0 and R/3 4.7 we didn't have problems. Of course in the R/3 system in that case there aren't any Regional Structure).
I checked the Help, but I didn't find some help around that.
I mean nowhere I see that it's mandatory to have the check of the address if is not set the XREGS flag.
Do you know something more about this issue? Did you find more info?
Maybe it's mandatory to have Regional Structure Groupings in the SRM system if they are in the R/3 system, what do you think?
And more: somebody has some ideas for that?
    Thank you,
    Maria

    hi,
how to do the validation in sap xi (input file)?
    regards
    Ruban

    Hi Ruban
There are no fixed set of validations.
It all depends on the exact functional requirements. Most of validations revolve in XI around,
    1. Validation of madatory fields.
    2. Cross Referncing of data.
    3. Validation for data in some fields , etc
refr the below links for few details regarding validation
