Validator isn't fired when using example code from chapter 40: Validating Data
When following example code, mentioned in the Flex Developer
Guide on page 1282 is copied into an mxml example application and I
run the application, validation is never fired.
When I have a look at other example code, which is using the
listener- and trigger-property on the validator everything works
fine.
Could you explain why the example code from the Dev-guide
doesn't work as mentioned in the guide?
Nathalie,
I believe you need to specify the "trigger" and "listener"
properties as well. For more information, see the last example on
this page:

Hi all,
im trying to create a program for communication over a LAN network with a spectrum analyser.
when i use a standard example code i get errors like this one:
[Linker error] undefined reference to `viOpenDefaultRM@4'
did i made a fault in linking?DAV C++ uses a GCC based compiler. The VISA DLL is compiled with MSVC. This will cause a problem with the calling convertions used and expected.
Basiclly the visa DLL uses 'viOpenDefaultRM' but the GCC expects viOpenDefaultRM@4, and thus can't find it in the DLL. You can solve this manually.
The basic steps are:
1. Generate a .def file from the DLL for example with pexports.
2. correct the .def file so all the functions have the correct decorations as expected by GCC.
3. Create a new import library,
For more infomation see this post about the same issue with NI-DAQmx
An other option would be to use the Visual Studio 2005 express editions?
And in some configuration you will need to buy a license to use NI-VISA: http://www.ni.com/visa/license.htm
Hope this helps

What causes TV screen to freeze but sound continue on TV when using Air Play from I Phone 4?
First try rebooting ATV and router. Beyond that, it's probably something within the network, typically interference.
To get a report of the network go to istumbler (Mac) or netstumbler (PC). Look for signal strength and noise.
If on wifi try ethernet. -
Using a schema from a different Logical Data Service
Is it possible to use a schema from a different Logical Data Service in a new Logical Data Service? I want to maintain just one version of the schema.
when I try and associate a schema type the 'Select Schema Type' dialog appears. On there the scope is set to project. Next to it is 'All projects', is there a way I can get that ungreyed?I don't think so. I assume that is a remnant from ALDSP 2.x when we had the notion of an ALDSP application that contained multiple ALDSP projects and there was visibility across projects (actually just folders) in the same application.
can I use a schema associated with another dataspace projectNo. The contents of a dataspace are not accessible from outside the the dataspace other than what is provided by the APIs. And although the schemas could be accessed via catalogservices, this isn't a standard protocol (like http://) and therefore schema processors wont' be able to use them.
You could host your schemas in a web-application and expose them via http. Create a Dynamic Web Project and put your schemas where the content gets served from (i.e. alongside index.html), and then they would be accessible via http://<yourserver>:<port>/yourWebApp/yourSchema.xsd. All the schemaLocation in the imports would need to be relative. It would probably be easier to create your schema-hosting application first, then build your dataservices. -
Using XML extraction from Oracle and XSLT data transformation
Hi
How can transfer data ie: Using XML extraction from Oracle and XSLT data transformation with java application?
usually i use to do querying sql, getting data from table assinging to model class then send it to UI. how can i go for XML extraction form oracle?
thanksSorry, I don't understand what exactly you want to do. And I'm under the impression that you might not know exactly what you want to do as well. Could you explain a bit more detailed what you want to achieve?

Hi, all
Something goes wrong when using agilent 2k3k4k drivers. Could anyone help me?
Agilent DSO-X 2012A oscilloscope
Drivers are download from:
http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.download_page?p_id_guid=9E84674573AF6AB8E0440021287E6A...
Each time when running examples:
Agilent 2000 3000 X-Series Acquire Waveform.vi
Agilent 2000 3000 X-Series Acquire Waveform continuously.vi
Agilent 2000 3000 X-Series Acquire Multiple Waveform.vi
Errors rise and the oscilloscope is crashed and needed to be shut down and restarted. It seems that the example can't pass the "Read Waveforms.vi" in the Block Diagram. The PrintScreen is as follows:sagha wrote:
According to the MAX they are correct (IVI driver for the Agilent 33519B downloaded from the NI website). When I run the IVI Initialize block any frequency, amplitude, offset, etc. settings on the function generator are reset to the default values. So, something is being sent to the instrument.
However, I've also tried adding the General Error Handler block right after the Initializaiton block to cancel the -1073807339 error. Then, I add the IviFgen Configure Standard Waveform [STD] block to set the function generator frequency. The program throws an error that looks like a resource problem:
"Error -1074130544 occurred at IviFgen IVI Error Converter.vi
Possible reason(s):
The session handle is not valid.
Complete call chain:
IviFgen IVI Error Converter.vi
IviFgen Configure Standard Waveform [STD].vi
<myViName.vi>
What could be the reason for an invalid session handle? I've followed the NI tutorials on setting up IVI instruments in MAX and in LabVIEW.
Okay, this is new information. Nothing in your previous posts mention that the initialztion did anything at all besides return the timeout error. The invalid session handle is because you closed the session.
I'm having trouble following your descriptions.

GarageBand '09 Slow and Beachball when using "Example Ringtone" Template
I'm pretty sure this is just an Apple bug that will need to be squashed at some point, but I'd welcome some other thoughts or advice on this repeatable situation.
Situation:
When launching Garageband all is well until I choose the iPhone Ringtone from the left AND select "Example Ringtone" from the main panel. This bug does NOT occur with either "loop" or "voice" ringtone types or with any other project type (Piano, Electric Guitar, etc)
However, if I select iPhone Ringtone AND "Example Ringtone," I get a beach-ball for a good 2-3 minutes during which my external drives are thrashing.
I have two externals a MyBook USB 500GB for Time Machine and a LaCie 1TB FW800 for other stuff.
If I disconnect the MyBook and perform the same tasks, GarageBand beach-balls for less than a minute...still obviously something wrong there, but better. If I disconnect all external drives, then GarageBand beach-balls for maybe 5 seconds under the exact same conditions. The presence of these external drives is triggering this GarageBand bug!!
I also have iLife 09 on my Unibody MacBook with no external drives and under the same test condiditons, Garageband takes about the same 5 seconds to load the Example Ringtone template.
Soooo, for some inexplicable reason, Garageband is causing massive reads from my external drives making this template pretty much unusable.
Is anyone else having this problem with this particular template and external drives? Can anyone else reproduce if they haven't had the opportunity to try this before now?
Am I missing anything?
Thoughts?Well, hopefully this new information will be helpful if anyone else runs into this issue. At least until Apple gets a fix in.
The bugged template is called 01. Example Ringtone and is located in the
\Macintosh HD\Library\Application Support\GarageBand\Template\Ringtone folder
Interestingly enough, these templates, according to command info were actually created in GB4, no idea if that is part of the problem.
Anyway, I tried swapping out the template mentioned above with one of the same name that I created and the bug went away.
My steps were as follows:
1) Launch GB and select the Example Ringtone template...wait a long time until GB eventually stops beach-balling
2) GB automatically saves this template under a new name. Usually My Song# and places it in the GarageBand folder of your user directory
3) Rename the file from #2 above to 04 iPhone Ringtone.band and place in the template folder mentioned above
4) When making future ringtones, use the 04 template rather than the 01 provided by Apple until they get it fixed.
Note, you could just replace the Apple provided template rather than adding a new one, but I opted for this approach so I could check after software updates to see if the original problem had been fixed.
I'm still open to the idea that I might have this all wrong, but the evidence seems pretty compelling.
Use Apple's template and 3 minute beach ball. Replace it a near duplicate and the problem goes away.
Hope this helps and if anyone from Apple happens to fly through it would be great to hear about this. -
IDOC error when using LSMW+XIF to load business partner data
Hi experts,
i have configured the LSMW using idoc type 'CRMXIF_PARTNER_SAVE01', but it gives somes errors like below (LSMW_BP456 is the BP no)
E Partner LSMW_BP456 (4A01EE5D47261621E10000000A0A0ACB ): the following err
W Partner data processed with key PartnerGUID 4A01EE5D47261621E10000000A0A0
W Partner data processed with key PartnerID LSMW_BP456
E No update is defined for BP role 000000
E Validation error occurred: Module CRM_BUPA_MAIN_VAL , BDoc type BUPA_MAIN
E Error status 'A ' calling validation service
In fact i have loaded product succesfully using this interface, so i am sure the basic setting is done for XIF interface.
And i found the error messages come when executing below code in fm 'CRMXIF_PARTNER_SAVE' in debug mode. I am not very familiar with BDOC and it seems that the error occured when processing bdoc.
call MW flow service synchronous (error handled by caller)*
IF lv_callmode = 'S' OR lv_callmode IS INITIAL.
CALL METHOD cl_smw_mflow=>validate
Any advice ? thanksHi,
I have looked into the issue. If you are trying to create the BP with general role 000000, i think it might not be possible via LSMW.
The error message is correct, because role 000000 is indeed not relevant for update because if you can see in the customising Tx BUSD, 'FLAG - Do not update' will be active. This is the reason why you are getting the error message of 'No update is defined for the role 000000'.
When you insert a partner in role "000000 General Business Partner",the error message "BP role cannot be updated" will be returned. This error message is very specific for this issue. You can create BP in different roles apart from the general role.
Indeed if you try to change the 'Do not update' flag to inactive state and process the LSMW project you will be able to create the BP but it is strictly not recommended.
This role is a technical role which exists for the creation of BP, and immediately you will fall back to other roles available for the partner.
So i feel you need to change the role before you create BP with this role via LSMW.
I hope this helps.

App crash when using JAVA callbacks from native threads in solaris
Hi all,
Sorry for putting the thread here. I did use the native methods forum, I wasnt lucky. I Hope more people would look into this forum, which brings me here.
I have a solaris application which crashes when I try to callback the JAVA methods and variables from the native code. The description of the problem is below
Written a native library, the library is multithreaded (i.e) I create a thread using pthread_create() in the native code which performs the operation of calling a JAVA method from the native code. The routine of calling the JAVA method works perfectly elsewhere outside the new thread.
There are two scenarios I've tested it in
1. I created a thread (say X) from the main thread (say Y) and made the y to wait until the X is complete using the pthread_join(). The JAVA callbacks works fine when called from Y but the app crashes if done from X.
2. Did not make the Y to wait until the X is complete, hoping that both will run paralelly and even the the App crashes.
And to be precise the Y is the thread where the native method is called from JAVA.
I have tested for any memory leaks or stack corruption by removing the JAVA callbacks and bulding a executable and using purify, the report doesnot hint any such occurances.
The linker options used for building the shared library is as follows
${GPP} ${INC} -G ${LIB} -mt -g -lCstd -lCrun -lpthread ${OBJS} -o <lib-name>
I wonder if we can create threads in the native code when using JAVA callbacks and even if we can whether it would be appropiate to use the callbacks with in the threads
Looking forward for any help.
Regards,
VamsiGuys... can't any one help me with this problem :(

Current Security Context Not Trusted When Using Linked Server From ABAP
Hello,
I am experiencing a head-scratcher of a problem when trying to use a Linked Server connection to query a remote SQL Server database from our R/3 system. We have had this working just fine for some time, but after migrating to new hardware and upgrading OS, DBMS, and R/3, now we are running into problems.
The target database is a named instance on SQL Server 2000 SP3, Windows 2000 Server. The original source R/3 system was 4.7x2.00, also on SQL Server 2000 (SP4), Windows 2000 Server. I had been using a Linked Server defined via SQL Enterprise Manager (actually defined when the source was on SQL Server 7), which called an alias defined with the Client Network Utility that pointed to the remote named instance. This alias and Linked Server worked great for several years.
Now we have migrated our R/3 system onto new hardware, running Windows Server 2003 SP1 and SQL Server 2005 SP1. The application itself has been upgraded to ECC 6.0. I performed the migration with a homogeneous system copy, and everything has worked just fine. I redefined the Linked Server on the new SQL 2005 installation, this time avoiding the alias and referencing the remote named instance directly, and it tests out just fine using queries from SQL Management Studio. It also tests fine with OSQL called from the R/3 server console, both when logged on as SAPServiceSID with a trusted connection, and with a SQL login as the schema owner (i.e., 'sid' in lowercase). From outside of R/3, I cannot make it fail. It works perfectly.
That all changes when I try to use the Linked Server within an ABAP application, however. The basic code in use is
EXEC SQL.
SET XACT_ABORT ON
DELETE FROM [SERVER\INSTANCE].DATABASE.dbo.TABLE
ENDEXEC.
The only thing different about this code from that before the upgrade/migration is the reference to [SERVER\INSTANCE] which previously used the alias of just SERVER.
The program short dumps with runtime error DBIF_DSQL2_SQL_ERROR, exception CX_SY_NATIVE_SQL_ERROR. The database error code is 15274, and the error text is "Access to the remote server is denied because the current security context is not trusted."
I have set the "trustworthy" property on the R/3 database, I have ensured SAPServiceSID is a member of the sysadmin SQL role, I've even made it a member of the local Administrators group on both source and target servers, and I've done the same with the SQL Server service account (it uses a domain account). I have configured the Distributed Transaction Coordinator on the source (Win2003) system per Microsoft KB 839279 (this fixed problems with remote queries coming the other way from the SQL2000 system), and I've upgraded the system stored procedures on the target (SQL2000) system according to MS KB 906954. I also tried making the schema user a member of the sysadmin role, but naturally that was disastrous, resulting in an instant R/3 crash (don't try this in production!), so I set it back the way it was (default).
What's really strange is no matter how I try this from outside the R/3 system, it works perfectly, but from within R/3 it does not. A search of SAP Notes, SDN forums, SAPFANS, Microsoft's KnowledgeBase, and MSDN Forums has not yielded quite the same problem (although that did lead me to learning about the "trustworthy" database property).
Any insight someone could offer on this thorny problem would be most appreciated.
Best regards,
MattGood news! We have got it to work. However, we did it in something of
a backwards way, and I'm sure you'll laugh when you see how it was done. Also, the solution depends upon the fact that the remote server is still using SQL Server 2000, and so doesn't have quite so many restrictions placed upon it for distributed transactions and Linked Servers as SQL Server 2005 now does.
At the heart of the solution is the fact that the Linked Server coming FROM the remote server TO our SAP system works fine. Finally, coupled with the knowledge that using DBCON on the SAP side to the remote server also does actually provide a connection (see Notes 323151 and 738371), we set up a roundabout way of achieving our goal. In essence, from ABAP, we set up the DBCON connection to the remote server, at which point all the Native SQL commands execute in the context of the remote server. From within that connection, we
reference the tables in SAP via the Linked Server defined on the remote
server, as if SAP were the remote server, selecting data from SAP and inserting it into the remote (but apparently local to this connection) tables.
So, to spell it out, we define a Linked Server on the remote server pointing back to the SAP server as SAPSERV, with a SQL login mapping defined on the remote system pointing back to a SQL login in the SAP database. We also define a connection to the remote server from SAP using DBCON, using that remote SQL login for authentication.
Then, in our ABAP code, we simply do something along the lines of
exec sql.
set connection 'REMOTE'
endexec.
exec sql.
connect to 'REMOTE'
endexec.
exec sql.
insert into REMOTE_TABLE
select * from SAPSERV.SID.sid.SAP_TABLE
endexec.
exec sql.
commit
endexec.
exec sql.
disconnect 'REMOTE'
endexec.
This is, of course, a test program, but it demonstrated that it worked,
and we were able to see that entries were appropriately deleted and inserted in the remote server's table. The actual program for use is a little more complex, in that there are about four different operations at different times, and we had to resolve the fact that the temp table SAP_TABLE was being held in a lock by our program, resulting in a deadly embrace, but our developer was able to work that out, and all is now well.
I don't know if this solution will have applicability to any other customers, but it works for us, for now.
SAPSERV, REMOTE, REMOTE_TABLE, and SAP_TABLE are, of course, placeholder names, not the actual server or table names, so as not to confuse anyone.
Best regards,
Matt -

Settings when using mp4 files from Samsung GS3
Hi,
Does anyone know the settings I should select when creating a New PE10 Project and using mp4 files from a Samsung Galaxy S3 mobile phone?
ThanksMs Spielberg
If you are using video files from the Samsung Galaxy S3, from what I have read, it offers 1080p up to 30, that being 1920 x 1080 @ 30 progressive frames per second. Is that correct? If so, please consider.
The project preset should match the properties of your source media. In setting the Premiere Elements 10 Windows project preset (new project dialog), the choice of one of the FIip project presets range from frames sizes 640 x 480 to 1280 x 720. So, they would not be a match.
Consequently, I would ask you to consider the project preset if your source media from this Samsung Galaxy S3 are as I have read 1080p30.
NTSC (or PAL as the case may be)
DSLR
1080p
DSLR 1080p30 or DSLR 1080p30 @ 29.97
In Premiere Elements 10 after you set the project preset, then you import your media with Get Media.
a. If you can connect your phone to the computer, you could explore Get Media/Flip/AVCHD/Cameras, Phones or Removable Drive as I think SG is suggesting.
or
b. If your phone files are saved to a hard drive location, then Get Media/Files and Folders.
Are you also asking for export suggestions?
Thanks.

Error when using a plugin from Developer Studio
Hi,
When trying to use VSS plugin from Developer Studio v2.0.14, I receive the error: "800401f3: Invalid class string".
Does anyone received the same error in a similar situation and know how to fix it?
Thank you in advance,
JaninaHi Janina,
First check whether you have the correct version of the plugin for the NWDS. Reason is, different versions of plugins exist for different versions of Eclipse. I wasn't able to find a version for Eclipse 2.0, may be it is hidden somewhere in the internet
If you couldn't find the correct version then you need to manually Check-in and check-out the files from the VSS client outside the Eclipse IDE.
Best regards,
Guru.

This typically happens when you're using FaceTime on a WiFi connection that is either not too strong or not too fast.

More than 1 line of text when using text generator from file?
hi
have 8 line blocks of text to show onscreen.
would like to use text generatorn>from file
all they seem to print is one line.
is there a work around?
have trhied soft returns and paragraphs on saved text file.
no change.
anyonre know how to get 2 or more lines of text?
thanks in addvance!Select the File generator layer and in the Inspector, select the Layout pane and in Layout controls, set the Layout Method to Paragraph. Narrow your margins and the text will "flow" into multiple lines.
You can also keyframe the paragraph layout position. [Probably more info than you want here.]
That said, you can only display *one line* at a time per File Generator. (If you're up to date with Motion [v5.1.2], you can use more than one File generator.) The generator does not accept any other characters for returns other than newline and carriage return.
I've never tried it, but thinking about it, you can set Tab stops in the Paragraph layout (double click in the layout rectangle and a ruler should appear over the top -- right click on the ruler to set tabs). If you go back into the original text file and where you need to break lines into two or more, setting a left tab stop in the layout very near the end of a line might force the tabbed text into the next line (did I make that clear enough??)
