we want to maintain old material no. for our vendor material no. But for some materials, he will change the vendor material no. from that date onwards, new no. will applicable.but we have got previous stock even... so please explain , how to consider this? full points will be awarded...

Use MM12 - Schedule Changes for Material Master
Here input the material no and Date for which the change is scheduled then go to the basic data view and maintain the old material no and save.
Then Use MM13 - Activate scheduled changes for material master

hello, friend.
normally, you have validity periods for contracts and quotations but not for sales orders. the reason for this is because sales orders are commitments made by the selling company to deliver a quantity of certain materials to the customer at a certain date.
in the sales order, you have several functionalities that will help you in your commitments. for example, the availability check will allow you to see if you have sufficient stocks for the commitment. the schedule line tabs will also show you if the delivery time required would allow you to bring the materials to your customer's doorstep by a certain date (sales order data also are relevant for planning and other cross-module functionality). if an adjustment in commitments is needed, these are made in the sales order before the outbound delivery is created.

How can I set an validity date for a given vendor?

Hello,
we are currently trying to set a "validity date" for vendors.
Basically, our vendors need to be audited, and are "accepted" for a period of time, beyond which we'd need to re-audit them.
What we'd like the system to do is block use of the vendor if this date was exceeded.
Anyone has an idea on the way to achieve this?
PS: We know that there is a way to do this at the material level, we instead wish to manage it centrally for the vendor

before doing business with a new vendor for services, our QA group needs to go thru a serie of verifications. We check various things such as insurance, certification,...
Once "approved", the vendor can be utilised by the plant for a certain period of time, after which a "re-audit" is necessary.
What I'd like to implement is a field where the QA group would enter this date, after which the vendor would be automatically blocked for usage.
This would then trigger the "re-audit" followed by the release from QA (who'd re-modify the date with the new one), and so on.
The vendor is not necessarily used for supply chain. Sometimes, it could be for services , maintenance, or other.

Maintain Validity Date for Documents

Any Idea how can we put and maintain Validity Dates for any Document uploaded in DMS Server.
Validity Dates here means (Documents cannot be used if validty is over)
I could not find any option in CV01* T-Codes.

You can also do this solution also if you find it OK.
1. Create a Class with "Validaty Date" as characteristics. Assign this Charac to class. Assign this class to doc Type. This charac should not be editable to any one except creator.
2. Create a program with BAPI " Set Status" ( Check the name). which will run in background to check the validity date of Document. If the validity date is reached the BAPI will change the status to "S" as stated by Chritoph.
This will help user to manually tracked which documents have exceded the validity date. You can also genegrate report and mail it to particular user that what documents have been set to Status "S".
Hope I have provided a valid solution as I have tried similar kind of functionality with changing a characteristics with Date.

you have to pass the date in the format as yyyymmdd
bcoz for internal storage the SAP system always understand the standard data format
yyyyymmdd.
so you have to pass the date in the format yyyymmdd.

How to send PR & PO data for materials through IDOC in XML

Hi Experts,
I am looking for a solution to send open PR & open PO related data for diffrent materials through as IDCO in XML file.
Scenario is i have to show a report in a 3rd party system for open PR & open PR that too will come after selection some materials. That means select a materials & it will show all the open PO & related data in a report.
The rough idea for the solution i got is I can save the data in XML file in the system. For this i have to send IDOC. but the problem is there is no message type for PR. IF i am not wrong i can extend the MATMAS05 for a segment that will have PR related info.
Now what to do with that how to send the IDOC do i need to create another report to send IDOC or i can send the extended one through BD10. I tried it but it shows error message "0 communication idoc sent" so I dont no y such error is coming i think i am not filling the extended idoc. But again my QUestion is how to do that. If anyone have any other solution Please help me out of this.

My requirement is bit different. i have to send Open PR data for diffrent materials. In a 3rd party application user will search for few materials which will generate a report that will show the PR related data for those material.
Same thing i have to do for PO & Sales order also.
Can u please help me to provide the solution how can i proceed for it. U have given the Message type & a bapi how it will help in my issue?
I got a suggesion from someone that extend message type matmas for PR, PO, SD related data & send the idoc. but i am confused how to pass that much data ina single IDOC.

Regd : How to find Validity date for a user in central user system

Hi Experts;
I want to get the list of users with profile SAP_ALL with following details like validity ,user type ,user name ,user id..
I can get through SUIM for each individual systems.Its very difficult to login to each system ,generate the report.So I prefered to go for Central system
But if I use central user system I have no option to find validity and user type for the system ( SUIM - > Cross system application )
I have also tried to the table USRO2 ( which gives only the list of users in the central system )
So is there any possible ways to find the Users with profile SAP _ALL with validity date in the central user system. So that I can easily generate it as one report instead of logging to each and every system

I think it will give only the result of Central system and not the child system connected to Central system.Please clarify me.
I can execute the report by logging to each child system ,but it takes very long hours for me since there are many system in my landscape.

Source List validity dates for MRP only

Is there a way to do the following:
Set purchasing view "source list required" so that the material must be purchased from ANY of the sources on the source list... AND...
Setup the source list so that there are no overlaps, and MRP sources from consecutive contracts based on the source list validity dates.
For example, 1/1/10 to 5/1/10 -> Contract A (mrp relevant); 5/2/10-10/1/10 -> Contract B (mrp relevant). But on 5/3/10 I want to be able to manually change the requisition away from "B" and release against Contract A. In other words, I want MRP to get the sourcing close to correct, but allow the user the ability to override the MRP sourcing, AND still ensure that the source the user picks is on the source list somewhere.
When I try this now, the system generates "Source list not included in list despite source list requirement." The source list checking seems to be done all the way at the validity period level.

Schedule changes and validity dates for prices in product catalog(SRM-MDM)

Hello!
I'm working on a project that is going to use SRM-MDM and the question is if it is possible to schedule changes(for example to add new prices that have a validity period, can you make the changes now that are going to be valid from 1st of februari?Or can I add products today that are only going to be available to buy from a particular date?).
The other question is if it is possible to have a validity period for prices and when the date is valid,then the product is shown in the catalog.In the same way that when the date is not valid, the product is not shown in the catalog.Can this be made automactically?Can a logic be build to choose which products are going to be shown in the catalog?
Do you have any suggestions for those issues?

Sales Deal with two different validation dates for the same material

Hi SAPers,
I am trying to create a u201CSales Dealu201D VB31, for the same material/condition, but with two different validation dates. After the creation of the first record, I select u201CNew conditionu201D button, but the system give me the message VK104, u201Cthe condition is being processed in the current session.u201D.
How can I solve this issue?

We can't have multiple records for the same condition and key values valid on the same date. The condition end date is part of the primary key in the database table. The date ranges between the records cannot overlap. When you create a new record, usually the end date is set to 12/31/9999 by default. If you need to have this deal to end on a different date and a new deal to start afterwards, then first you need to change 12/31/9999 to a different date.
Also usually I try to exit the screen between the transactions.

User Exit for Validity Date for VA41 Tcode

Hi,
I am giving order type in VA41 Tcode and then Clicking on 'Create with Reference' .Then a Pop Up is getting generated. In this i am giving Contract created with validity date lessthan today's date(in Contract Tab).For Example i created a Contract xxxxxx with 'valid to' 9.12.2008. When I am giving this contract and clicking on 'Copy' button a Warning message is getting generated 'The sales document is only valid until 09.12.2008'. Now i have to change this into Error message instead of Warning Message.
i used User Exits mv45afzz,MV45AFZA,MV45AFZB. But the debugger is getting started only after Warning message got generated.Is there any User Exit for which debugger gets started when i give the Contract and then Click on 'Copy' button. Please Suggest.

Hi,
One idea. Go to VTAA (copy between sales docs) and create a new VOFM where you manage the copy control. Set a warning/error message in the new VOFM (in your range number), and try it.

Error while running Validation Data for category not found in application

I suppose your problem was solved in the meanwhile.
Anyway we had the same issue, when running Validations against ICMatching App.
That was because Method VALIDATION of Class CL_UJP_VALIDATE tries to relevant data in order to perform calculations (line 127), but if no data is found, ends raising an exception (with a misleading text line 143).

Issue while changing validity date for assigned roles: SAP IDM 7.2 SP8

I assigned the Task on repository for validity modification for Roles as in below screenshot:
When I modify the role validity, Task defined for Validity modification doesnt get triggered and IDM executes the tasks defined as Modify Task and fails with below errors:
1. Could not obtain repository name from Pending object.
2. Error ! Audit id , Variable doesnt exist in MXPT_GET_ENTRYTYPE.
I tried checking provisioning audit logs but could'nt find any Audit ID created for validity modification and I guess due to this tasks are getting cancelled.
Why the task defined in Modify Valdity tasks doesnt get triggered when I modify the Role assignment validity ?
Am I doing anything wrong with the SAP Standard way of working ?

Hi Deepak/Chris,
We are also facing a similar issue in our project where modifying validity of the role does not trigger any task. We then changed the Modify attribute(in task tab) on the priveleges to "inhereted".
The modify task is now triggered and completes successfully. However, no changes occur in backend.
We need unedrstand where do we maintain the setting to define which attributes(if changed) will trigger an event task in the provisioning framework. the "check attributes modification" task within the provisioning framework executes the below query:
select COUNT(VarName) from mxpv_audit_variables where AuditID=%AUDITID% and VarValue='%MSKEY%' and VarName='MARK_EXEC_MODIFY_ATTR%MSKEY%'
The query gives the result as "False" in case we only modify the validity of the role assigned to user. Thus no event tasks are executed for the same.
Can anyone please share where do we define the attributes for this query to give "True" as result for role validity modification.

Maintain Validity Date for Mitigation Control Assignment to Users Virsa 5.2

We have over 1,000 SoD's all mitigated. The val;idity date for these mitigation controls needs to be updated. Does anyone know a way to perform a range of updates so it is not necessary to update each user assigned to a Mitigation Control.

The only way to do that currently would be to download the table information, edit in Excel and re-upload the table.
Not for the faint of heart, but doable.
