Valuation area problem

Hello
I have created a new plant and this is assigned for the purchase org.
When doing PR I am getting the error u201CValuation area not definedu201D.
I can see the valuation area is plant and it is checked.
Please note there were some plants with which our company was working. Now recently a new plant was erected hence we created a new plant but we are not able to do any PR for this.
Please suggest in case I am missing with some settings.

Valuation area in F107 Valuation Run Problem

I'm trying out 1 exercise in AC010 course to perform valuation run F107 for customers and I found the below problem and cannot be resolved in IDES ECC6.
I have a customer using Value Adjustment Key AB.
My valuation area used is US as per the exercise.
When i perform F107 run, the valuation log saying Valuation adjustment key is not valid for BE.
So I go and check the valuation adjustment key.
The value for AB is 5% 30 days with valuation column is empty.
So I suspect that cause by the AB key.
I created a Z0 key with 5% 30 days and use US as valuation area.
The valuation run successfully picking up the customer overdue line now. So I start to perform valuation transfer.
This time another error occured the valuation transfer log shows
F107: 104 Account determination not correct INT 0000140000 B03
F107: 102 CoCde/G/G/Error when posting 1000 0000140000
SO I go and check the account determination OBB0. Transaction B03 and COA INT.
The account assignment is correct whre recon account 140000 is mapped to adjustment account 142100 and target account 210100.
To further investigate, i check table T030U. I found the valuation area is blank in the table. So I suspect this could be the root cause. but I'm stuck here.
I believe something has went wrong in my config. Anyone did this exercise before can share what is the remedy?

Yes. You are right. I am facing exactly the problem when I was delivering the AC010 training.
In the Classic GL, we do not have the valuation area in transaction F107. However, the configuration screen of OBB0 has not been updated even when the New GL is activated (at least in my version). In such case, the program cannot determine the correct account since the valuation area is missing in the Table T030U.
I had tried to fill in the valuation area in the table T030U in a very rude way - add it to the table directly in the SE16N. The program works well with my violence. I am not very sure if there is any more u201CStandardu201D way to do sou2026

Material ledger is not active in valuation area S001

Dear All,
I have created a Scheduling Agreement & did the GR. When I am doing invoice posting system is throwing error as Material ledger is not active in valuation area S001
What might be wrong here ? For same material if I create PO then everything is working fine. Problem is only with SA.

Hi,
Please check your Material Ledger Activation setting for the Valuation AreaC002 in T-code OMX1. The Check box for the ML activation against the Valuation Area-S001 may be ticked. After activation/ticking this box, T-code CKMSTART was not executed to complete the ML activation. If you want the activation of Material Ledger, you have to run T-code CKMSTART to complete this ML activation or Otherwise uncheck this box. I hope this step will resolve your issue.

Error when trying to activate new valuation area.

Hello forum,
I´m getting an error when trying to activate a new valuation area by using AFBN transaction. I get a message that says "Closed fiscal years for areas 01 and 10 differ by more than 1 year".
Then the system recomends me to check the settings of the depreciation areas for the closed fiscal years since the closed fiscal years of the areas are not allowed to more than 1 years apart.
But when I check the settings in transaction OAAR what I see is that same fiscal year is assigned to all the areas.
I don´t understand why the system is showing me this error then...How can I ensure all areas to be in the same fiscal year.

Do you have other company codes which are using the same Chart of Depreciation? Please check these company codes and perform fiscal year change to them.
It seems that the problem is related to note 421549 : the system tries
to check the entries for field T093B-ABGJA for all the entries,not
only for the relevant company code. If there's a difference of more
than 1 fiscal year between the last closed fiscal year for the area
you are trying to create, and one of the entries in T093B, then,
error AU 158 arises."
Because according to the note 421549: the system tried to check the entries for field for ALL THE ENTRIES,not only for the relevant company code.

[FSCM] add parallel valuation area and new valuation classes

Hi, everyone
I have a plan to add parallel valuation area and new (general) valuation class for International Financial Reporting Standards. But I have no experience adding another valuation area. Basically, SAP says new valuation area could be added any time. The concept of parallel valuation area also support that. But I am concerning that there could be a problem technically. Even though there would be a problem when I try to transfer valuation class of new valuation area.
If someone has an experience with these problems, please let me know and prepare that.

Convert Operative Valuation Area to meet the New GL requirements

Hi experts,
Up to now, in our customeru2019s ECC 6 system in the treasury module, there was only one operative valuation area (001) that it is linked to SAP/FI. This operative valuation area calculates results and creates accounting entries based on the Local GAAP which is the only existing ledger in SAP/FI. Our customer wants to activate the New GL functionality in SAP/FI and moreover to have as leading ledger the (New) IFRS Ledger through the migration approach. The other ledger (secondary) will be the local GAAP ledger.
What we already know is that the operative valuation area (001) must be always linked to the leading ledger. Thus the solution for this situation will be the conversion of all the flows from the existing operative valuation area (001) to the new valuation area (002)[new Local GAAP] and after the respective customizing to initialize the IFRS balances per financial instrument to the new operative valuation are (001) [new IAS GAAP].
Could you please be kind enough to know if there is a conversion tool which can deal with this situation or there are other alternative approaches to the issue described above?

Our problem is not on how to activate parallel valuation areas and to perform the respective customizing settings for parallel valuation and posting.
Up till now the operative valuation area 001 u2013 (Local GAAP), (we do not have second valuation area), is linked with the current leading ledger in SAP/FI, (there is only one General Ledger in SAP/FI based on Local GAAP). From now on and after the activation in SAP/FI the New GL functionality through the migration process, the Leading Ledger in SAP/FI will be the (New) IFRS Ledger.
The operative valuation area (001) in TRM must be always linked with the primary leading ledger of SAP/FI.
The problem is in the link between the operative valuation area (001) in TRM and the Leading Ledger in SAP/FI. We cannot continue to use as operative valuation area (001) the current one that makes posting to Local GAAP ledger and SAP/FI to have as primary ledger the new one that is based on IAS GAAP.
So the question is after the activation of the parallel valuation areas how to convert the flows from the up till now operative valuation area (001) into a secondary valuation area (002) and to use as operative valuation area (001) the new one based on IFRS.

0COPC_C04 : Material Ledger Inactive for valuation area

I ran RSA3 for 0CO_PC_ACT_02 and 0CO_PC_ACT_05 and I get 1000 records respectively. I ran the info package to load this data into BW to 0COPC_C04 . I am getting a message in the status tab " Job termination in the source system". When I look at the job log , it says " Material ledger not active for abcd Valuation area".
SO I went to OMX1 and I beleive that a while back there was a change to do company code valuation , which got changes to plant valuation ,so this is what I see in the screen:
Valuation area = 0001
Company Code = abcd
Price Det. = 3
and there is this one records which shows :
Valuation area = abcd
Company code = abcd
Price determination = 3
and it is not check marked under ML Act . This is only in the dev box , it was fixed in QA and Prod. But never fixed in Dev.
I am not sure , what to do , also I am not sure if this is what is causing the problem.

Treasury Money Markets- Operative Valuation Area and Parallel Valuation Are

Hello Folks
I have a problem I am trying to fix in Treasury Money Markets. The guys that created the fixed term deposits in Money markets did not create them in the Operative Valuation area. They created them in the Parallel Valuation area and went ahead to initialize it, they deleted the operative valuation area. Now the problem came in when new transactions were created. In the process of creation they asked for the operative Valuation area i.e. the new transactions being created. This was then created, but now the problem comes in settling and posting of the old transactions that have matured. These do not exist in the Operative Valuation area.
I cant post anything using TBB1 for the old transactions that were created without the operative valuation area, the system dumps and from the analysis I can see that its the lack of the operative valuation area. For the new transactions being created, a payment request cannot be generated for transactions requiring one.
How can I make sure that the Transactions in the Parallel valuation area also exist in the operative valuation area? Has anyone ever had this problem? Any suggestions on how I can go about solving this problem?

Hi,
I assume the valuation area you are asking about is in transaction manager component only. Technically all valuation areas are same in the sense that they have the same functionality. But from a functional stand point, every valuation area is determined based on either different accounting principles or different valuation needs. For e.g. one valuation area can be for your local GAAP while one can be for IFRS. It all depends on the business requirements whether you need multiple valuation areas at all or you can use one itself.
By default 1 valuation area is required and hence 001 will be active and this will be your operative valuation area. Any other valuation are you define will be parallel valuation area. Now if you dont want other valuation areas, then you need not create them. In your system, if you have been using 004 as for lets say IFRS and after upgrading you can configure 001 according to IFRS itself if you dont want VA according to any other GAAP.

Material ledger is not active in valuation area C002

Dear All,
I have a Scheduling Agreement for a material 'A' with Vendor 'V' with diff prices with validity dates, I did the GR & when i am posting the invoice thro' miro, system is throwing error as above Material ledger is not active in valuation area C002 Why should I activate the material ledger here ? Pls suggest how can i solve this ?

For a Particular material, Material Ledger is active or not? Can be checked in Accountig view of Material Master.
Why we need Material Ledger?
A fundamental task of the material ledger is carrying inventories in multiple currencies and/or
valuations.
Material inventory values are normally carried by the SAP system in one currency. The material
ledger component enables the R/3 System to carry inventory values in two additional
currencies/valuations. Therefore, all goods movements in the material ledger are performed in up
to 3 currencies or valuations. Currency amounts are translated into foreign currencies at
historical exchange rates directly at the time of posting. Businesses such as those in highinflation
countries can therefore carry their inventories in a more stable currency (such as US
dollars). This reveals inflationary effects on inventory values.
If you use transfer prices to represent value flows in your company in different
valuation views, you must use the material ledger. This allows you to carry your
inventories in three different valuations (legal valuation, valuation for reporting
purposes, and profit center valuation).
Before activating the material ledger, make sure you know which currencies and valuations
you want to use, because you cannot go back and change the setting.
Activating the material ledger is a prerequisite for using multiple valuations.

The dunning area can correspond, for example, to a profit center, a distribution channel, a sales organization or a business area.
This is a combination betwwen SD and FI
Organizational level at which the material is valuated. A valuation area can be one of the following:
Plant
All plants belonging to a company code, in which case the valuation area is the company code
This is used in MM and can be used to assign in MM G/L accounts to a valuation area.
It possible that valuation area is used on other places to with a compleet differenrt functionality

I have put a lot of work into a docx document on my Mac, but now can't open it as it gives the error message: 'the Open XML file cannot be opened because there are problems with the contents. Details, Unspecific

When opening the original file the message said: 'this file contains word 2007 for Windows equations' etc. but I managed to track changes fine, and saved, closed and re-opened it numerous times without problem. Some graphs seemed moved, and various formulas
were illegible, but no other weirdness was observed.
I have microsoft 2008 installed on my Mac OS X version 10.6.8.
I've tried to fix it using various solutions suggested here, but am afraid am too IT illiterate to have had any luck, please help I'm new to all this!

I think valuation area has not been maintained go to IMG enterprise structure-logisticsgenerak-definition check for the valuation level , if its defined go to its assignment part and assign that to your area,.

Valuation area not yet productive with material ledger

While doing goods receipt at MB1C,i got the below error:

Diagnosis
The material ledger has been activated for the valuation area but material data has not yet been converted in this valuation area.
Procedure for System Administration
If you want to work with the material ledger, choose Accounting -> Controlling -> Actual Costing/Material Ledger -> Utilities -> Production Startup.
There you can convert the data for the material ledger by following the instructions in the online documentation.
Note
Setting the material ledger to productive cannot be undone.

Hi Sabera,
The Valuation Area is not activated for your material ledger. Go to SAP Access>>Accounting>>Controlling>>product cost controlling>>Actual Costing>>environment>>Production Start up>>Set Valuation area as productive.
If you already activated Valution area in to Productive Statge.
Then go to T.Code OMX1 and for your valuation area XXX2 tick the ML activation box.
