Valuation class missing in obyc

Hi!
We are procuring free-text material and when the user are entering the material group in PR we would like the G/L account to be populated. Therefore, we have configured "Entry Aids for Items Without a Material Master". But I am having problems linking the valuation class to the account in automatic account determination.
Which Transaction key should be configured (EIN, EKG....). When I try to configure those a am missing the column for valuation class. What have I missed.
Sincerely
Anders

Hi Anders,
If u have the materila master u will be having the valuation class... this will help u to configure the automationc accuount determination
If you are buying the materila without materila master.... u need to buy for Account assingment like... cost center, project, asset ...etc,.
in this case u need to give the GL account in PO..

  • 0CO_PC_ACT1 DATA SOURCE- Valuation class missing

    Hi All,
    I have data reconciliation issue.
Valuation class is not getting populated for some materials.
    Data source is ZCO_PC_ACT1.
Please tell me which tables are used by this data source.
Also when I checked in RSA3 I found that for a single material and plant and Fiscal period combinations entries for values class is correct but when I enter all my materials the RSA3 output shows many blank entries for valuation class.
    Hope the question is clear.
    Please reply
    Regards,
    Ramesh

    Hi Ramesh,
The datasource which u mentioned is a custom DS.
You can find the database tables used in this DS by :
    1) RSO2 --> give the DS name and display. If the extraction method is view/table,then it will give the table name in the extractor itself. You can easily identify the table name by looking at the extractor name.
    2) If not there is another option : Goto SE11 --> ROOSOURCE --> give ur DS name i.e., ZCO_PC_ACT1 and execute it.check in the Datasource Extractor field. It will give the database table name.
    3) If the DS is thru function module, then goto SE37 and give the function module name and check the tables used in the FM.
After getting the database table, check the materials so that you will come to know which materials are not maintaining the valuation class.

  • Split GR/IR accounts by Valuation Class (PO without material master)

    Hi Experts,
I've an issue here, when I'm tried to do GR posting (PO without material master), system doesnt able to post GRIR account by valuation class.
Scenario: PO issue without masterial number, enter description and with material group.
In the configuration, I've configure "Entry aids for item without material master", assign material group "Asset" and material group "Services" into 2 different clearing account. However, when GR posting, system prompt error message and not able to do posting.
    Kindly advice.

Yes , you can post to different GR/IR accounts based on the valuation class . In OBYC for WRX , you can choose your rules . In the Rules , select valuation class . Then the system will allow you to choose different GR/IR accounts for each valuation class .
During the GR , the system will pick the corresponding GR/IR account based on the material grp valuation class .
    Regards,
    Hari.

  • Multiple  gl account for  blank  valuation class  in OBYC

    hello experts ,
In OBYC  FOR  VALUATION CLASS  'BLANK'  i have maintained a account no which is for service group .
Now for material group also there are few materials  in which  valaution class is blank and when i do MIGO  then these  goes to that GL account  which is maintained for fleet (service group).
also assigned my the 'grir  clearing account ' in  'LMR1M002' and activated  the customer exit but the gl account get changed  and become the same which is maintained in  OBYC for blank  valaution class  at end  of that  enhancement 'LMR1M002'.
how to assign  two gl account for  blank  valuation class.one is for service group and other is for  material group .

    Hi
This is normal Phenomenon since under that material type you must be having other valuation classes other than SUPP, and you must have assigned lot other G/L accounts , i.e for G/L recon you need to consider lot of Inventory accounts. Now if you change, during the next recon you just have to add the old entry details along with the new G/L account. No issues at all other than informing and co-ordination with FI guys after you new assignment of the G/L acct for SUPP.

  • OBYC - BSX - Wrrong GL Assgine for a valuation class

    DEAR FI GURUS n EXPERTS,
In OBYC, person assigned a wrong GL against a valuation class. Now we want to change that assignment.
On testing server I test the scenario and found the effect is not going on to past entries. IS THERE ANY PROGRAM WHICH I HAVE TO RUN TO CARRIED OUT THE EFFECT IN PAST ENTRIES. (Posting in right GL).
    Please suggest.
    With thanks,
    DSC

    Dear All,
    Thanks for your prompt replies,
The scenario is such type: Material Group = Plant and machinery and valuation class = 1023 for this material type. Now in OBYC, unde BSX, there should be GL of Plant and machinery in front of  valuation Class 1023.
But, some one wrongly entered GL of Spares. So, all the entries were posted in Spare.
Now, we want to get back all those entries in the GL of Plant and machinery.
If we change the GL than new entries will go in right GL. But what to do for old entries.
    Please suggest n help.

  • GR/IR clearing per valuation class

    Hey all,
I was trying to post the GR/IR clearing account per valuation class, so i changed the rule in OBYC in WRX to be per valuation class and account modifier, i entered the correct combination (WRX + VBR + V.Class + G/L a/c) but it's not picking the correct G/L in case of service purchasing, it's doing it with material purchasing only not service purchasing. even in the error the valuation class is not mentioned as it's saying ( WRX Z000 is missing ) and it's ignoring that there is a valuation class assigned to the service master, it works fine with material master records.
Does anyone have a clue ?
    Thanks and regards all...

    Hi Jitesh,
I believe, that though there are several debit and credit line amounts pertaining to GR/IR Clearing account. System will do clear with transaction F.13 based on sort key information at GL Account.
If the GL Account Sort Key gets changed, then to be cleared manually with T.Code F-03. Here you will not be in a position to clear if the debit and credit items are huge.
Then go to FBL3N, match the both credit and debit with same information at Assignment field and do Clearing with F.13
As we know, it is very big taks. You have to struggle for which the mistake was happend and ensure that the sortkey should not be changed where there are line items to be cleared.

  • Valuation class in service master linked with G/L accounts

    Dear Experts,
In service master what is the significance of Service category & service group? Is it required to assign G/L account like material type is required in material master? Is it necessary to hv 1:1 relationship in  valuation class & G/L account in service master? Is their any way that we can see the G/L account in service master? Pls help to clarify my doubts.
    Regds
    Prashant B.

    Hi Manish
I assigned valuation class in service master and using same service master for service PO creation, but while doing GR system picks WRX account without valuation class but not the GL account assigned to the valuation class in service master?
I tried with assigning service group/ material group at PO item over view to same valution class in OMQW but still not able to post to separate GL account in OBYC. Is there anything missing?
As far as my understanding service PO WRX entries will be posted to the GL account witout valuation class.
    Thanks

  • How to shift valuation class from one material type to another material type ?

I have came across following weird scenario:
We already created huge no.of materials of material type say ZABC with two valuation classes say 1100 and 1200(GL accounts for these VCs for different posting keys in OBYC settings are same). Account category reference for this material type is 0010.
After that we created new material type say ZPQR  with new Account category reference 0025, and valuation class 1200 is linked with this ACR 0025. Because of this, valuation class 1200 disappeared from material type ZABC. In order to avoid inconsistency, we need to have valuation class 1200 linked with older material type i.e.ZABC.How we can do this ? What impacts must have happened in this period (from MM/FI) in the system, where valuation class get shifted from one material type(ZABC) to another material type(ZPQR)....please help us in this scenario.

    Thanks Sana,
We are also looking for the solution provided by you i.e. reassign ACR 0010 to Valuation class 1200.
Your are also correct in terms of  statement "config doesnt allow me to assign same valuation class to 2 different AREF (Account reference number/Account category reference).
I wanted to know, what are the possible impacts in the system during this re-assignment of ACR to old material type ZABC.
    Regards,
    Sudarshan.

  • Mass change of material's valuation classes

    Dear all,
Our client has an incorrect MM accounting determination because the customizing for the OBYC was not properly definied initally. This issue is causing many problems in accounting since the accounts are not being correctly determined,
After being analyzed the situation we have concluded that the best way to correct the problem is to define a new classification of valuation classes and link it to new valuation grouping code which will be assigned progressively to all the plants in the system, activating immediately the new accounting determination.
Since the system is already live, the change will need to be done directly in production environment. As you all know, in order to change the valuation class of the material we need to post the stocks of the material to an interim account in order to be able to change the valuation class of the material.
Since it would be very complicate at this point of the project (we are running out of time) to flag for deletion all the existing open purchase orders/production orders, we will switch the error message for them  to a warning in the material master as suggested by the system.
And here it comes my quetion, many of the plants have WM and we are not sure which the required steps are to allow as to post the stocks to the materials to an interim account and either how to do it technically (we are talking about 50.000 materials).
Any suggestion will be very appreaciated.
Thank you very much for your help!!!
    Luis

not sure of PM, you might want to ask that in the PM forum ... but i should think, that if you stopped all posting during that process there should not be any impact with your equipments ... or do you have something special going there with BOMs/configuration?
special stock: i would do it that way.
    i appreciate the invitation, btw.

  • Different GL Account for WRX - based on Valuation Class (No Material Master

    Hi Gurus,
My scenario is as given below.
    1. We do not have any Material Master. We create short text PO's with account assignment category "P".
    2. We are also using Material Group in our PO. We have one Material Group for Domestic Purchases (say M1) and another Material Group (say M2) for Import Purchases.
    3. We have assigned valuation class say 3100 for Material Group M1 and valuation class 3101 for Material Group M2.
    4. Our plant is say RBUP and our valuation grouping code is say 0001 which is assigned to the same plant.
    Objective:
While doing MIGO we want to have different GR/IR Account for domestic purchases say 108 and different GR/IR account for import purchases say 109.
    Issue:
    1. In OBYC setting GR/IR account is picked from transaction key WRX.
    2. Our entries in WRX are as given below for our Chart Of Accounts say DMN.
Valuation Modifier Valuation Class GL Account
    0001 108
    0001 3100 108
    0001 3101 109
    3. But even when i am creating the PO with Material Group M2, it is not picking the GR/IR account 109, based on the valuation class i.e. 3101 which is assigned to the Material Group M2.
    Query:
    1. How can I achieve my objective of selecting GR/IR Account 109 for Import PO's and GR/IR Account 108 for Domestic PO's.
Pl note we will not be maintain material master.
Will give full 10 points if anyone can help me reslove this issue.
Pl also do not waste any of your valuable time to address the account assignments for BSX or GBB-VBR. I am fully aware that in VBR this differentiation is possible.
    Rgds,
    Prasad.

I suggest you to create a Dummy Materials. Lets say,
    material number: 1001
    enter material description as Domestic
    material number: 1002
    enter material description as Imports
    and in OBYC for GBB
    make the following settings:
val grp      gen mod    val cla      gl a/c dr     gl a/c cr
    0001     VBR     4000     74180040     74180040
    0001     VBR     4001     78020091     78020091
so that when u create PO u can get default GL (consumption GL )  for the material (u can use the same for material group also) and u can maintain WRX acc determination as follows ..
val grp   val cla    gl a/c dr   gl a/c cr
    0001      4000     123456     123456
    0001      4001     456789     456789
Thus u need to create 2 different valuation class for these material group specific and in PO while entering the text u can add the text which is displayed along with material description
    hope this helps

  • G/L Accounts - Valuation Class

    Hi Experts,
How to assign G/L Accounts to Valuation Class  and also to material group...
Which is the best industry practice....

    Hi
Assigning account to valuation class differs for various processes.
In OBYC select BSX, select rules and select debit, credit, valuation class and enter the valuation class and the corresponding account (created as a balance sheet item) .This is for Inventory posting.
Similarly u have to assign account to all keys like VBO ,WRX, etc
The rule here depends on the client business needs. For ex: if the client wants the consump[tion account to go to diff accounts based on the material type or the plant then the rule should include the valuation class and the valuation modifier and if clients says that all consumption accounts to one G/L then no need of above selection for the rules of the account key.
Also to identify the rules normally we have to see the balance sheet of the client and decide the rules accordingly. If their balance sheet has diff consumption accounts based on the material types then select the rules accordingly.
Read the below to have more idea on account assignment:
The following list shows the individual transactions with examples of how they are used. The transaction/event key is specified in brackets.
    Change in stock (BSV)
Changes in stocks are posted in Inventory Management at the time goods receipts are recorded or subsequent adjustments made with regard to subcontract orders.
If the account assigned here is defined as a cost element, you must specify a preliminary account assignment for the account in the table of automatic account assignment specification (Customizing for Controlling) in order to be able to post goods receipts against subcontract orders. In the standard system, cost center SC-1 is defined for this purpose.
    Stock posting (BSX)
This transaction is used for all postings to stock accounts. Such postings are effected, for example:
In inventory management in the case of goods receipts to own stock and goods issues from own stock
In invoice verification, if price differences occur in connection with incoming invoices for materials valuated at moving average price and there is adequate stock coverage
In order settlement, if the order is assigned to a material with moving average price and the actual costs at the time of settlement vary from the actual costs at the time of goods receipt
Because this transaction is dependent on the valuation class, it is possible to manage materials with different valuation classes in separate stock accounts.
    Caution
    Take care to ensure that:
A stock account is not used for any transaction other than BSX
Postings are not made to the account manually
The account is not changed in the productive system before all stock has been booked out of it
Otherwise differences would arise between the total stock value of the material master records and the balance on the stock account.
Account determination of valuated sales order stock and project stock
Note that for valuated sales order stock and project stock (special stock E and Q) and for the transaction/event keys BSX and GBB, you must maintain an account determination to avoid receiving warning messages when entering data (purchase order or transfer posting) for valuated stock.
During data entry, the system attempts to execute a provisional account determination for GBB for valuated stock. The system will only replace the provisional account determination for GBB with the correct account determination for the stock account (BSX), in the background, if you enter the data for valuated stock at a later point in time.
    Small differences, Materials Management (DIF)
This transaction is used in Invoice Verification if you define a tolerance for minor differences and the balance of an invoice does not exceed the tolerance.
Freight clearing (FR1), provision for freight charges (FR2), customs duty clearing (FR3), provision for customs duty (FR4)
These transactions are used to post delivery costs (incidental procurement costs) in the case of goods receipts against purchase orders and incoming invoices. Which transaction is used for which delivery costs depends on the condition types defined in the purchase order.
You can also enter your own transactions for delivery costs in condition types.
    External service (FRL)
The transaction is used for goods and invoice receipts in connection with subcontract orders.
If the account assigned here is defined as a cost element, you must specify a preliminary account assignment for the account in the table of automatic account assignment specification (Customizing for Controlling) in order to be able to post goods receipts against subcontract orders. In the standard system, cost center SC-1 is defined for this purpose.
    External service, delivery costs (FRN)
This transaction is used for delivery costs (incidental costs of procurement) in connection with subcontract orders.
If the account assigned here is defined as a cost element, you must specify a preliminary account assignment for the account in the table of automatic account assignment specification (Customizing for Controlling) in order to be able to post goods receipts against subcontract orders. In the standard system, cost center SC-1 is defined for this purpose.
Offsetting entry for stock posting (GBB)
Offsetting entries for stock postings are used in Inventory Management. They are dependent on the account grouping to which each movement type is assigned. The following account groupings are defined in the standard system:
    AUA: for order settlement
AUF: for goods receipts for orders (without account assignment)
and for order settlement if AUA is not maintained
AUI: Subsequent adjustment of actual price from cost center directly
    to material (with account assignment)
BSA: for initial entry of stock balances
INV: for expenditure/income from inventory differences
VAX: for goods issues for sales orders without
account assignment object (the account is not a cost element)
VAY: for goods issues for sales orders with
account assignment object (account is a cost element)
VBO: for consumption from stock of material provided to vendor
VBR: for internal goods issues (for example, for cost center)
VKA: for sales order account assignment
(for example, for individual purchase order)
VKP: for project account assignment (for example, for individual PO)
    VNG: for scrapping/destruction
VQP: for sample withdrawals without account assignment
VQY: for sample withdrawals with account assignment
ZOB: for goods receipts without purchase orders (mvt type 501)
ZOF: for goods receipts without production orders
    (mvt types 521 and 531)
    Thx
    Raja
