Valuation Class - Movement Type - Account

Hi,
I´m not yet that experienced in SAP but I´ll try to explain as good as I can.
Is there any easy way to display all accounts that are used within a specific valuation class?
The specific accounts per valuation class I have found using se16 in table t030.
But this table is not telling me which movement type are using the accounts.
So I currently go to spro -> MM -> Valuation and Account Asignment -> Account Determination -> Account Determination without Wizard -> Purchase Account Management -> Configure Automatic Postings -> Simulation
- first problem: I do not know how to find a material for a specific valuation class (no filter criteria?)
- second problem: no complete list I have to click through each movement type to see where a specific account is used -> a complete list over all movement types within a  selected/used valuation class would help a lot!
Best regards,
F.

Hi,
You can get the material list per valuation class through table MBEW (Valuation).You can use MB51 t.code to get the document list based on movement type.
The movement type and valuation class relation is through transaction event key. Movement type will determine the transaction event key through value string (the same you can find in OMJJ t.code, here select movement type and enter any movement type and click on account groupign > You can find the relation).
Transaction event key is assigned with G/L accounts based on Chart of accounts/Valuation grouping code/valuation class/account gouping(only for GBB,PRD & KON).

  • Movement Type Account Assignment and Account Modifier usage

    Dear All.
    Scenario:
    We have a requirement for some of our sales transactions to post to an expense account at PGI in the delivery rather than the COGS account.
    So we're investigating assigning another movement type (copy 601) to the schedule line category used for these sales transactions.
    Prior to doing this though, I wanted to see if it's possible to still use the 601 movement type and use an Account Modifier (or other function) to point these sales to the different offsetting GL account?
    I see how to assign the account modifier's to the movement type, but I'm not seeing how this relates to the transaction and how the system will pick up one account modifier vs another when the movement is posted?
    When I check the material document and accounting document generated from the delivery PGI, I see the movement type, accounts posted to and various other data, but no account modifier.
    Q:
    Is it possible to have one movement type post to different offsetting accounts for this type of scenario?
    Also, how does the account modifier tie in to the transaction?
    Many Thanks.

    Hi Carlos.
    Well, for us this one is set. We decided to stop investigating and put in a new schedule line category for these along with a new movement type assigned to the schedule line category.  There's not too many so it can be manually assigned.
    However, I would still like to figure this out for next time.  When I get some time I'm thinking of looking in to the FI substitution rules or other customizing on the FI side.  Must be some way to override the default posting without having to impact SD/MM?
    It was a fairly quick change, but still with testing/documentation/re-training/meetings, etc.... it all adds up.
    Thanks!
    Let me know what you guys do.

  • Valuation class & material type

    Hi all ,
    Can anyone plz tell me the answer on following
    What establishes the relationship between a valuation class and material type
    A.     Valuation grouping code
    B.     G/L account
    C.     Valuation category
    D.     Valuation grouping code.
    E.     Account category reference
    Thanks in advance
    Shreek

    i think more than one answer should be correct for this question. The valuation class makes it possible to:
    Post the stock values of materials of the same material type to different G/L accounts
    Post the stock values of materials of different material types to the same G/L account
    On the other hand, a account category reference is Group of valuation classes that the system uses to check whether the valuation class you have entered is allowed when you maintain accounting data in a material master record.
    So i think the answer should be G/L account, Account category reference and Valuation category.

  • Acc. ref category - Valuation class - material type relation

    One material type can have only one account reference category.
    One valuation class can have only one account refernce category.
    One account reference category can be assigned to more than one valuation category.
    Therefore we may conclude that one material type can have only one valuation type allowed.
    We may  also conclude that one valuation class is allowed for more than one material type.
    Is it correct.
    Regards,
    VM - Learning MM

    One material type can have only one account reference category.
    Yes, check  OMS2 Trxn code
    One valuation class can have only one account refernce category.
    Yes,  check OMSK Trxn code
    One account reference category can be assigned to more than one valuation category.
    +Yes,  check OMSK Trxn code, it is combination of Mat Type & account refernce category +
    Therefore we may conclude that one material type can have only one valuation type allowed.
    No it is not valuation Type , for one mat type one account refernce category is allowed.
    But the Same account refernce category can be used for many mat Types
    We may also conclude that one valuation class is allowed for more than one material type.
    Yes, Bcz one account reference category can have many valuation classes

  • Movement type - accounting posting and value update

    Hi,
    1) Could some one let me know the exact check box or setting in movement type master data that makes value postings to FI.
    I mean when I use a movement type, I do not want any value updates.
    2) Also, when a material uses standard price as price control, system also makes an update to MAP price for statistical purposes. I observed this statistical update to MAP price field happens only for movement types 101 and 102. Could some one explain me why it does not happen for other movement types and what I need to do for enabling system to update MAP price for statistical purposes even for other movement types.
    Thanks,
    SKD

    Could some one let me know the exact check box or setting in movement
          type master data that makes value postings to FI
    The control is in OMJJ.  Once you go to OMJJ, key in movement type 101 and execute.  There you can see some tabs to your left screen.  If you double click on Account Grouping,  you can see a tab on the last Check acct.***.  Wherever the box is checked, those relevant entries will be posted to FI.
    What you can do is copy this standard movement type, rename it and make changes here.
    thanks

  • Valuation class and movement type

    Hi sirs,
    What exactly mean by valuation class and is there any sublink to valuation class and movement type.
    BSR

    Hi BSR,
    Regarding the meaning of valuation class and link between valuation class and movement type, you just have to understand this.
    <b>valuation class + movement type = transaction key --> GL account</b>
    explanation :
    <b>Valuation class</b>
    It is a field maintained in the accounting view 1 of Material master. This is nothing but the classification of material like Raw material, Finished goods, WP, stores & spares etc. It is indicated as numerical number.
    <b>Movement type</b>
    This is a 3 digit numerical code which is used for all material movement in MM module. Say for example movement type 101 is used for Goods receipt from vendor or from production.
    <b>Transaction Key</b>
    The combination of valuation class and the movement type translates into a transaction key which indicates the type of transaction.
    remember:
    The combination of Valuation Class + the Movement Type helps in determining the GL accounts automatic updates.
    hope it helps and don't forget to assign points.
    regards,
    Lily

  • MM Valuation Class

    Dear Experts,
    My requirement is to valuate each plant stock within the same company code separately:
    Plant 1000 --  GL Acc Stock1000
    Plant 2000 -- GL Acc  Stock2000
    Plant 3000 -- GL Acc Stock3000
    this valuation is regardless the material type trading , Raw ,etc.  please can you advice how to map this requirement in most proper approach with respect Account category reference, valuation class, Material type/ Account category reference, My initial idea is to create three valuation class 1000,2000,3000 and assign ARef material types to these classes, Is this the approach or is there other ideas?
    APPRECIATED

    HI,
    The stock postings (BSX) is based on valuation class and Valuation grouping code. so, either you can have new valuation class defined or have altogether a new valuation grouping codes for the 3 plants. Then later you can assign the individual G/L accounts in OBYC.
    In case of material movement between the plants there might be  a conflict in account determination based on valuation class ( If  a same material exists in the receiving plant with a different valuation class)
    Need more clarifications on the Business process to help further.
    Regards,
    Sushant

    Hi Santosh,
    Movement types are similar to posting keys
    Valuation class determines the G/L accounts to be posted automatically
    Based on accounts person  requirement the valuation class will be created by MM people
    Integration is based on three rules
    Rule 1:Valuation class is specified in material master
    Rule 2:For valuation class we assign G/L Account based on the nature of transactions
    Rule3:At the time of Goods receipt/Issue, the stores person enters material no, quantity& movement type
    Accounts will be updated automatically based on A/C assignment to valuation class, which is specified in material master

  • Different material- same valuation class-same movement type - but should hi

    dear all,
    Different material- same valuation class-same movement type - but should hit different gl account.
    the requirement is the materials are different but having same valuation class. Now during issue certain gl account are hitting because of val grp code, account modifier and account determination in mov type. Now my question is can i use same movement type and hit different gl account for materials having same val class???
    It is possible??

    Hi,
    In OBYC, we maintain G/L account for the transaction key (for ex: GBB) for the combination of Val. grouping code, Valuation class & account modifier (ex: VBR - determined via mov.type).
    As per your requirement, Materials have the same valuation class and you are using the same mov.type for Goods Issue, so only option is to use different val.grouping code (which is assigned to a valuation area).
    So in short, you can trigger different G/L for the different materials with same val class, mov.type only if the Plant - valuation area is different.
    If the Plant is same then system will always determine the same G/L even though materials are different.
    Hope it is clear.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Account assignment for movement type 221

    Hi,
    Instead of using account suggested by GBB-VBR for movement type 221 we want to use account entered by user in transaction as an offset to inventory account.
    However SAP keeps on hitting account determined automatically (from GBB-VBR) and ignores account entered by user in transaction. In fact account entered by user in transaction is getting replaced by GBB--VBR and is also not available in any table (MSEG etc)
    I have already checked - checkbox "Check account assignment" that states preference to user entered account in transaction, in movement type -- account grouping config but for no use.
    Please help

    In OBYC for Transaction GBB,  instead of BSX,  maintain BSA, VAX & VAY for each Valuation Class of material and its respective G/L Account.
    For example, if you are trying for a FERT material, then the entries should be
    0001::::BSA:::::7920::::::4XXX30
    0001:::VAX:::::7920:::::::5XXX30
    0001:::VAY:::::7920:::::::6XXX30
    Also check in OMJJ whether you have the settings as follows:-
    MvT::S::Val.Upd:::Qty.upd:::Mvt::Cns:::Val.stng:::Cn:::TEKey:::Acc mod:::Check acct.
    561::::::::::::X::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::WA01:::::2:::::GBB:::::::BSA::::::::::::::::X
    561::::::::::::X::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::WA01:::::3:::::PRD::::::::PRA:::::::::
    561::::::::::::X::::::::::::X:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::WA01::::::2::::GBB:::::::BSA:::::::::::::::::X
    561::::::::::::X::::::::::::X:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::WA01::::::3:::::PRD:::::::PRA:::::::::
    Check whether your settings are similar to above.

  • Valuation class in service master linked with G/L accounts

    Dear Experts,
    In service master what is the significance of Service category & service group? Is it required to assign G/L account like material type is required in material master? Is it necessary to hv 1:1 relationship in  valuation class & G/L account in service master? Is their any way that we can see the G/L account in service master? Pls help to clarify my doubts.
    Regds
    Prashant B.

    Hi Manish
    I assigned valuation class in service master and using same service master for service PO creation, but while doing GR system picks WRX account without valuation class but not the GL account assigned to the valuation class in service master?
    I tried with assigning service group/ material group at PO item over view to same valution class in OMQW but still not able to post to separate GL account in OBYC. Is there anything missing?
    As far as my understanding service PO WRX entries will be posted to the GL account witout valuation class.
    Thanks
