Valuation mode in sampling procedure

Dear all,
I have a doubt that if we ll give valuation parameters as Attributive inspection while creating sampling scheme and we can assign the same sampling scheme in ths sampling procedure. But in the sampling procedure if we choose valuation mode as Manual valuation means what will happen?
My question is while we are performing usage decision,
On what basis system ll perform usage decision, whether it based on manual valuation or attributive inspection.
Kindly clear my doubt.
Regards
Karthik

Hi,
An attributive inspection (OK or not OK) is an acceptance sampling inspection. This means that the number of nonconforming units or the number of defects in a sample determines the acceptability of the inspection lot. ISO 2859 serves as a standard for attributive inspections. The Quality Management component has two valuation procedures for attributive inspections:
Attributive inspection based on nonconforming units
Attributive inspection based on the number of defects
For an attributive inspection, you determine the number of defects or the number of nonconforming units per sample size. Depending on the recording form, you either enter the results or the system determines these results from the single values.
The inspection result is compared with the acceptance number and the rejection number for the characteristic in question. The inspection characteristic is accepted if the number of defects or the number of nonconforming units does not exceed the acceptance number. The characteristic is rejected when the rejection number is reached or exceeded. If the result falls between the acceptance number and the rejection number, the characteristic is accepted (but rejected for the dynamic modification valuation).
An attributive valuation is also possible when the rejection number is reached with a smaller sample size or when the acceptance number is not exceeded with a larger sample size. In all other situations, you must use the sample size defined in the sampling plan.

  • Settings for sampling procedure process

I need to use sampling procedure only for C class items. Now what settings i need to make while creating sampling procedure, sampling scheme, assigning it to plan.
request to elaborate on the points, as i am new to QM.

    1.Create sampling scheme: QDP1
enter the lot size and sample size here.
    2.Create sampling procedure : QDV1
enter sampling scheme in sampling procedure by selecting the valuation mode as "sampling scheme"
3.In QP01 create a Inspection plan & attach the sampling procedure against char/mic @ char level.

  • How to use sampling procedure

    Hello Friends,
I have to map the following scenario. Please advise the config & master data.
    1) My sample size should change if my acceptance & rejecetion level changes.
    2) If rejection increases then the sample size in the next lot should increase & the vice versa.
    Regards

    Hello Sir,
Thanks for your valuable reply. I have progressed on this. I need some more help.
Let us park DMR for a while. DMR is working fine. But I have some issues in results recording.
Let us only work only with sampling procedure with sampling scheme.
I have taken one inspection characteristic. It is quantitavie characteristic. It has lower limit as 10% & upper limit as 15%.
    what I have done
    1)
I have created one sampling scheme = ABC
Valuation parameter = variable inspection by S method
    sampling table = severity/AQL
For normal inpsection (4) I have taken AQL as 2.
    Lot size = 100
    Sample size = 15
    K-Factor = 3
    2)
I created one sampling procedure = XYZ
Sampling type = Use sampling scheme
Valuation mode = Variable inpscetion S - Method (two limits)
    without inpsection points
    assigned sampling scheme = ABC
    No multiple samples
    Inspection severity   4
    AQL value             2.000
    3)
I assigned the sampling procedure in the plan with the characteristic.
    4)
I did GR for 100 & sample of 15 generated.
    why I have done
    1)
    In sampling scheme
valuation parameter = variable inspection by S method (because my characteristic is quantitative)
    2)
    In sampling procedure
Valuation mode = Variable inpscetion S - Method (two limits) (because my characteristic is quantitative with lower & upper limit )
    My issues:
    1) Is my settings for a quantitative characteristic with lower & upper limit correct?
    2) During results recording system is asking to enter StdDev. What is standard deviation?
    3) How characteristic is accepted & rejected? I am not getting any pop up to select accept or reject?

  • SPC: Valuation mode 100/110 effects on the process

I am struggling to find out what are the effects of using valuation mode 100 (Attributive inspection nonconf. units) or 110 (Attr. insp. nonconforming units / manual) in the sampling procedure. I could find a lot of threads about the general usage of valuation mode, also about the differences between e.g. 100 and 500 / 700, but I am still not able to fully know what will change in my process if I use either 100 or 110. I would expect it might be in results recording?
So far, the only information I could get out from the valuation rules that are behind both modes, is one small difference in the help in SPRO:
    10 (refers to 100):
    Task
Acceptance decision for an inspection characteristic using the fraction of nonconforming units corresponding to an n-c or n-c-d relationship (special case d = c + 1).
    11 (refers to 110):
    Task
Acceptance decision for an inspection characteristic using the fraction of nonconforming units corresponding to an n-c or n-c-d relationship (special case d = c + 1).
If no valuation is possible, the system switches internally to a manual valuation.
This just adds one more question to me: what happens if you use 100 and the valuation is not possible?
    Regards
    Martin

    Dear Martin,
1)100 :  If you use valuation mode Attributive inspection non conf. units  then it will not come any pop up for valuation. valuation happens automaticaly.
    2) 110 : For valuation pop up to come you need to choose Manual Valuation mode.
    Valuation Mode
The valuation mode defines the rules for accepting or rejecting a characteristic or a sample.
    Use
The sampling type and the valuation mode define which parameters will be used to determine the sample.
    Example
    Sampling type: fixed sample
Valuation mode: attributive inspection according to nonconforming units
As a result, a sampling instruction with the parameters sample size 'n' and acceptance number 'c' is stored in the sampling procedure.
The sampling instruction is independent of the lot size (unless the lot size is smaller than the fixed sample size).

  • No Sampling Procedures in In-Process Quality Inspection (origin 03, insp. points 100)

    Hi
I am facing a problem while attaching master inspection characteristics etc. in a master recipe (C202). I first specify inspection points as 100 in the recipe header (quality data section) and then I go to the operations section, select a phase and go into the area where I can attach MICs, methods and procedures. Now, no matter what kind of MICs I add there ( ones that require a sampling procedure, of course, as it is my need) it does not let me browse (F4) on the mandatory sampling procedure field. I have created all kinds of sampling procedures (freely defined inspection points, without inspection points, manual valuation, spc, fixed, 100% - all combinations) but the mandatory sampling procedure field does not let me browse for sampling procedures. If I directly type a name, it says that the procedure is not suitable for inspection points (100 that I defined) despite the sampling procedure being a freely defined inspection points one or any other. This is only in the case of inspection points/in-process/master recipe. otherwise normal GR usage 5 plans are working fine. Any help? It's urgent. Thank you!
    Regards,
    Bilal

No, I'm using 100 inspection points, freely defined (both in my master recipe header and sampling procedure)
And yes, the sampling procedure does have the radio button selected for freely defined inspection points, manual valuation and fixed sample.
Like I said above I did get half of it working by making a setting in SPRO in the section that says Inspection for manufacturing order. In the process order section, I selected something related to production order in one of the tabs. That now enables me to assign a sampling procedure to a characteristic (SP with freely defined insp points) but it still doesn't let me browse (F4) for a sampling procedure eventhough there are 3-4 suitable procedures. I directly have to type them and press enter. Cannot F4/browse procedures.

  • Reg: Sampling procedure .

    Dear friends,
Currently we are implementing QM for process industry.
I need your valuable inputs on Sampling procedure. what exactly meant by sampling procedure.
How to configure for sampling procedure.
    Thanks in Advance.

You acn get many threads & Input if you go through the sdn but I will try to explaain you & give you some input for sampling procedure for process industry............
Sampling procedure simply means how samples are going to determine the a char & a Inspction lot.......
sampling procedure has sampling type like "percentage ,100% ,fixed sampling or with sampling procedure......which has valuation type like manual ,attribute or variable depending upon the mic used.
In Process industry sampling procedure can be used with Inspection point or without inspection points.
QPV1 is t code for sampling procedure. Mianly customization related to sampling procedure is by default available in SAP QM.

  • Valuation mode for QI MIC and QN MIC

    Dear Friends,
For QI MIC the requirement for valuation  of  results recording is  by catalog accept and rejection
For QN the requirement for valuation of results recording is by upper and lower level , meaning if the recorded value is upper limit and lower limit the results is fail or pass
    so i decided to use
for QN - Mean value in tolerance range
for QI - Attribute inspection non conf units
Is my decsion is correct , if i am wrong some one can help me  also i need to know when we can use manual valuation
    Thanks & regards
    Raj

    Rajkumar,
    Quali - catalogs  & Quant - upper & lower
for both case you can use attributive inspection -- but in sampling procedure you have to define allowed no.of nonconformance to accept that particular MIC.
mean value - only applicable for quantitative characteristics.
you have to define Sampling procedure and assign this your plan
    regards

  • Difference between Sampling Procedure and Sample-drawing procedure

    Friends,
I am new to QM and started learning QM Module. My doubt is what is the difference between Sampling Procedure and Sample-drawing procedure?
The reason for my doubt is, we can determine the sample quantity with Sampling procedure itself. then what is the need of sample-drawing procedure?
Also describe primary, pooled and reserved samples.
    Regards,
    IMIMINT

    Hi,
    Sampling Procedure
    Definition
A procedure that contains the rules for determining the sample size for an inspection. The sampling procedure also specifies the type of valuation to use for results recording (attributive, variable, or manual).
    Use
You assign a sampling procedure to each characteristic in an inspection plan to calculate the sample size.
    Sample-Drawing Procedure
    Definition
A master data object in which you plan the drawing of physical samples. In the sample-drawing procedure, you specify:
Which categories of physical samples must be drawn
How many physical samples must drawn
The size of each physical sample
Whether the drawing of physical samples must be confirmed
    Use
The system uses the information in the sample-drawing procedure together with the information in the inspection plan to calculate the physical sample sizes, and to create physical-sample records when an inspection lot is created.
Primary Sample : It is the sample drawn from the lot directly.
Pooled Sample : It is the sample whcih is combination of 2 or more primary samples.i.e. primary sample sfrom say 3 differetn drums is mixed and tested.
Reserved Sample :sample which is preserved for the testing in future.
    or in other words
    Primary samples (1st stage)
Physical samples drawn directly from a material or batch that will be inspected or used to create pooled samples.
    Pooled samples (2nd stage)
Physical samples to be created by mixing the contents of two or more primary samples from the same material or batch.
    Reserve samples
Primary physical samples drawn from a material or batch reserved for future inspection.

  • Quality management( difference between sampling procedure & sample drawing)

    Hi Experts,
I am very new to quality management module & working in united states. i am trying to find difference between sampling procedure & sample drawing procedure.
I see that sample drawing procedure is assigned to Inspection Plan & sampling procedure is assigned to characteristics, But i don't know the difference between these two, Please help me.
    Regards,
    Seshu

    Hi,
    SAMPLING PROCEDURE :
A procedure that contains the rules for determining the sample size for an inspection. The sampling procedure also specifies the type of valuation to use for results recording (attributive, variable, or manual).
    Use
You assign a sampling procedure to each characteristic in an inspection plan to calculate the sample size.
    Integration
In a sampling procedure, you must activate the function for inspection points based on a sample-drawing procedure if you assigned a sampling procedure and a sample-drawing procedure to an inspection plan at the characteristic and header levels respectively.
    SAMPLE DRAWING PROCEDURE:
    Structure
A sample-drawing procedure contains the following types of information:
    Header data
The sample drawing header contains the following information fields and control indicators:
Key that identifies the sample-drawing procedure
Short text description for the sample-drawing procedure
Authorization group that limits the access to the sample-drawing procedure
    Text for matchcode searches
    Long text indicator
Indicator for calculating the number of physical samples on the basis of number of containers in the inspection lot (as opposed to the base unit of measure)
Confirmation indicator to activate or deactivate the confirmation requirement
Lock indicator to prevent the sample-drawing procedure from being used
Usage indicator that shows whether the sample-drawing procedure is currently used in an inspection plan
    Sample-drawing item(s)
A sample-drawing item contains specific instructions for creating physical samples with respect to a specific inspection lot container type and specific partial-sample numbers in the inspection plan. In a sample-drawing item, you can also specify:
Which categories of physical samples you want to create (primary samples, pooled samples, and reserve samples)
The physical sample container you use to draw each category of physical sample
A factor to increase the quantity of physical samples to be created (for example, if you need to carry out more than one inspection)
The number of physical samples to be created (fixed number or variable number based on a sampling scheme)
    Integration
The sample-drawing procedure interacts with the following planning objects:
    Inspection plan
You assign a sample-drawing procedure to an inspection plan to activate the functions for sample management.
    Sampling scheme (optional)
If you want the system to determine the number of physical samples automatically on the basis of a sampling scheme, you can reference sampling schemes in a sample-drawing procedure.
    Hope it helps...

  • 100% Sampling Procedure is not functioning for Prod. Order - Insp.Type:03

    Hi Experts,
We have a number of material as  SPARE PARTS.
We are creating Production Order for these Spare Parts.
Inspection Type 03 is used for it.
Customization -> Define Default Values for Inspection Type
Sample  100 % Inspection Check Box is activated
Skips Allowed Check Box is activated.
    Material Number : 571113211
    QM View
    Inspection Type 03 is assigned
100 % Inspection Check box is activated (By Customization Setting)
Skips Allowed Check Box is activated (By Customization Setting)
Routing is created for this material .
For the operation 10,  Two MIC are assigned.
For Each MIC the 100% SAMPLING PROCEDURE IS ASSIGNED
Production Order is created with Qty. : 80.
    System generates the Inspection Lot.
The result recording screen  the u201CINSPECT FIELD  SOLLSTPUMF IS 1 ONLY.
    It must be 80.
I am able to record only one entry.
As 100 % SAMPLING PROCEDURE IS ASSIGNED TO THE MIC,
THE LOT SIZE OF THE PRODUCTION ORDER MUST BE THE SAME OF SAMPLING SIZE.
For the manual Inspection type, I just assigned the sampling procedure to the MIC in Inspection Plan.
When I created the Inspection lot the Sampling size  with Inspection Lot qty of 80,
I am able to enter the result for the specified MIC 80 times.
 It is working fine for manual Insp. Type  89.

    Hi Rajaram,
    Thanks for your prompt reply.
    The issue is solved.
This is the requirement of Inprocess Inspection.
I am assigning the MIC in Routing.
Hence I need the Inspection lot as soon as Production Order is released.
In Material Master QM View, Inspection Type 03.
I have deactivated the 100% Inspection Check Box.
    The issue is solved.

Defects to be inspected are classified as very Critical, critical, major and Minor.
I am not understanding, how to decide whetehr lot is to be Rejected or Accepted after capturing defect types in Result Recording screen. What shoulsd we capture in Result recording screen.
