% value in a pie chart

Hi,
I have a pie chart where I display % on hover. One of the values is 217 out of 96976538, which comes out to 0.00%. But , the pie chart is displaying 2.24E-4%. How can I solve this to display 0.00%
thx,
parag

In Pie chart we do following things,
1)     Axis Titles & Labels in enable the Override Default Data Format
2)     Treat Number As = Percentage
3)     Decimal Place = 2, after click on Ok.

  • How to show top 20 values in a Pie Chart

We have a requirement to develop a Pie chart for top 20 Order value locations.but i am not able to plug in top 20 logic in a pie chart. This functionality (TOP N) is avilable in bar chart , but it is not avilable in Pie chart. Could some help me to implement this logic in a Pie chart.
Your help in this regard is highly appreciated.
    Thanks

Not sure what you are saying here.  Obviously you have to have a place to place the distinct values, whether in another column or in the same column. That's not really a drawback, just a fact of life.
I'm curious about what you mean by "multiple columns to dynamically select some records with specific criteria from different columns."  If you can give a specific example of what you are trying to do, I there may be a solution.  Are you trying to do something like Excel's filtering on multiple columns?
If you are you can click the disclosure triangle by the column letter to get a dropdown like this:
    Similar to Excel.

  • How to present percent and value in pie chart?

    Hi guys,
I tried to present both percent and value in a pie chart in web intelligence. I've looked over data value setting but still no luck. Can we request this feature to be available in the next SAP BO platform upgrade.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    You can try this .
    1)
Add 2 Pie charts in your Report (Align top
    & Left Same Size ) .
    Set Background Color Transparency 0%
Set Data Value Presentation value for 1 st (Outside)
    Percent for 2nd (Inside)
Make size of the pie as per the value presentation  .

  • Pie chart to display top 5

I am using pie chart to display the top 5 countries based on the values. For this, i created an advanced option where on the change of is country with TopN being 5 including others and show values is Pth pecentile (P=50) of @value percent.
The problem is that the pie chart percentage is showing as 52.2% for a country and the detail information below is showing 39.38% which is calculated based on value / total value * 100. The same formula is used for the pie chart as well.
Is this how its supposed to behave or should it show the correct value on the pie chart? How can i achieve the correct value.
    thanks

  • Crystal reports pie chart

    Hi,
I have a record with 2 fields: a date field called 'mydate' and a text field called 'yesno'.
There are about 100 records in the database.
I want to produce a pie chart that will only produce the amount of 'YES' values in the 'yesno' field and show these values on the pie chart by month.
Im pretty new to crystal reports, so if you could give me a step-by-step, that would be great.
    Thanks.
    J.

    James,
I don't quite understand. Is the detail amount correct, just displayed as percentages, or is the actual percentage being displayed.
If the detail amount is being displayed as a percentage, under Chart Expert -> Options -> Number Format is where you can format the field.
If it's the actual percentage being displayed, you're going to have to change the Show Value you're basing the chart on.
    I hope this helps.

  • Using negative percentages in Pie Charts

I am having a devil of a time creating a visual pie chart based on the data I am getting from my spreadsheet.
Here is what I am trying to do:
I want to see a visual representation of how many calories I have left to consume before I reach my goal for the day. I have created a spreadsheet that tracks daily caloric intake and gives me a total value. This is a numerical value, like 1600 to 2300. I then have a "goal" caloric value, which remains unchanged. This value is 1800.
The pie chart sees these numbers as positives, so when I put them in you can imagine the result would be close to 50% for both sections of the chart. Obviously, I am inputting garbage values that the pie chart is interpreting accurately.
The next logical step I thought of was to take the "goal" caloric value and subtract the actual "caloric intake" value - this way I come up with a balance of the two - positive or negative. I then used this newly created balance value as "calories remaining" and compared it to "caloric intake."
This seems to give me accurate results, except when I get a negative number in calories remaining. For some odd reason, the pie chart sees this negative number as a positive!?!? For example, if I have a -400 calories remaining compared to 2200 consumed, the pie chart would see this as 400 to 2200.
    Any ideas??
    Thanks in advance!

You have the option, in the Chart Inspector, to format the labels any way you like. You don't have to use Percentage. In fact, you can add text to your labels, like this:

  • Mouse Over Value in Pie Chart

    I have two questions -
    1. How do i restrict the no. of decimals in the Mouse Over values for Percentage in a Pie Chart ? The numeric values i can control but the percentage (which the system calculates) seems to be set at default two decimal places.
    2. While displaying the labels even though i am using the ouside end, inside end etc options - i can't seem to control the overlapping of a few labels. Offsetting is something that i need to do by hit and trial. too slow. and not all need to be offsetted. Can i selectively offset for a data point ?
    Please help....Cheers...

    Hi:
For question1, do you mean the "Data Label->Percentage" right? I think the "Mouse-Over Values" could be set decimal places easily from  "Appearance->Text->Mouse-Over Values", but for "Data Label->Percentage" there is no direct way to show its decimal places. You can use "Label" component to build your percentage you like manually.
For question2, if all position setting could not fit your need, you can also use label component to build your custom Data Labels.

  • How to show negative value in Pie Chart from Webi?

I have below example data, I want to convert this to a pie chart in Web Intelligence, my problem is after I convert it to a pie chart, the revenue '-30' is shown as '30', looks like the pie chart is not suppor the negative value to show, I want to know if there is any workaround or solution to make the pie chart to show the negative value? Is this behavior is by design? do we have any official document to explain this?
The product I used is BOE XI 3.1 SP3.
    Department    Revenue
    A                      100
    B                       -30
    C                        80

Why are you showing this information as a pie chart? It doesn't make sense to try and display a negative slice in a pie chart. I can't really think of a logical way to try and draw a negative slice in a pie chart. With a pie chart you will need all your information to either all be positive or all negative, otherwise it doesn't work.
What you need is to have a bar chart, with positive and negative values on the y axis.

  • Display three Values in Pie charts

    Hi All,
I want to display three Values in Pie Chart(%, Value and one more field). Please suggest me any solution for this.
For Eg Pie chart should display value lie this :- Nokia, 25,025, 38.52% (It consists of three differet values)
    Thanks,

I am not sure if you could get the concatenation to work.
But here are some ideas (please post if you get the solution):
    - Take a look at the list of other formatting options based on the following link:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/xml-publisher/blog/xsltext/10134/oracle/apps/xdo/template/rtf/XSLTFunctions.html
    - Another alternative is to customize the class file : oracle/dss/graph/SliceLabel.class located in bipres.jar
You would need to customize it to do what you need.
    a) Modify this one so that it is used by the BIP Server
    C:\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\applications\xmlpserver\xmlpserver\WEB-INF\lib
    b) Modify this one so that it is used by the Client : MS Word AddIn:
    C:\Program Files\Oracle\BI Publisher\BI Publisher Desktop\Template Builder for Word\jlib

  • Display the value as percentage in pie-chart in WEBI

    Hi Experts,
I have two measures  No. of Sales Transactions and Customer Visit. And I created a measure named CustomerConversionRate.
ie, CustomerConversionRate = ([No. of Sales Transactions]/[Customer Visit])*100.
So my requirement is that CustomerConversionRate is  to be display  into a pie chart in WEBI . CustomerConversionRate always a percentage.I
hereby attached a sample pie-chart based on my requirement.
    Eg:CustomerConversionRate=79.27 and Remaining = 20.73
I want to display  CustomerConversionRate=79.27  and Remaining = 20.73 into a pie chart in WEBI

    Hi ,
Add 1 more Query with dimension that will have values
    Completed      Or      X
    Remaining      Or      Y
Duplicate your Query And Keep only 1 Dimension [Extra_Dim]( Remember this Dim Name you have to use it in different way so it would be better if use any Dimension which is not there in First Query )
Go To--> View Script --> Custom SQL
write below code in Query Script Editor
    SELECT
      'Completed' As "CATEGORY"
    FROM
      "YOUR_TABLE"  Table__1
    Union
    SELECT
      'Remaining' As "CATEGORY"
    FROM
      "YOUR_TABLE"  Table__2
    And Save this Query .
Now Rename this Query as Pie Dimension .
Now You can Use [Extra_Dim] As [Achievment_Status]
Create Measure Variable [Achievment_Val] as mention above .
    And use it

  • How to show legend values ON PIE in pie chart View

    Hello experts ,
I have a requirement to show the values of the legend ON the pie in a PIE chart view .
Usually when I give show data labels "always" option , that displays the % on top of the pie or side to the pie but Iam trying to get the % value ON the pie and
I am wondering to know is there any way we can show the actual value instead of percentage in PIE view .
Can somebody please help me through this .
    Thank you
    Karthik

    Hi,
I have a requirement to show the values of the legend ON the pie in a PIE chart view .
Usually when I give show data labels "always" option , that displays the % on top of the pie or side to the pie but >Iam trying to get the % value ON the pie By dedault you don't have this, by changing the pie.pcxml we can achieve this.
It is in the folder <OracleBI_home>\web\app\res\s_oracle10\popbin
But the changes you do will affect all the pie charts as whole. Before do the changes take the backup of pie.pcxml.
In the pie.pcxml, Goto -> DataLabels tag, by default the value would be Position='OutWithLeader'
    Change that attribute to, Position='Inside'
After the changes save and restart javahost and presentation server.
    This will do.
If you don't want the pcxml change, create your new pcxml file and point it.
I am wondering to know is there >any way we can show the actual value instead of percentage in PIE view . Change the setting as bifacts said.
    Thanks,

  • Pie Chart Legend - colors and sorting value

<p>Hi,</p><p>I have a pie chart with around 20 &#39;segments&#39; representing names of people - so it looks like several of them have the same color.</p><p>So my first question is do the standard 12 colors repeat after 12 segments have been &#39;defined&#39; - can this be extended with custom colors?.  I know you can set colors for specific values but as the list is dynamic, I can&#39;t do that. </p><p>I also have a legend defined which shows the person&#39;s name and then the value - either a percentage or a count etc.    From top to bottom, the legend lists the entries alphabetically by the person&#39;s name - however, it&#39;s not always easy to tell which name is associated with which &#39;segment&#39; and using labels is not an option as they are too long and there are too many of them to be readable<br /></p><p>So what I would like to do is have the legend displayed in numerical size order - e.g. person with largest % is at the top, smallest % is at the bottom etc.</p><p>I&#39;ve been looking at the Chart Expert, CR Help and the forums but have not seen an answer to either question - I&#39;m hoping someone can tell me if it&#39;s possible or not (and if so, how do I do it!).</p><p>Thanks <br /></p>

    Hi,
If you go to the Chart Expert, on the data tab, you can choose the Top N option. From within there you can get your legend sorted based on the highest or lowest percentage. You can also group information so that you only see the top 5 or lowest 10 or whatever you want.
Also when I create a pie graph based on 20 plus pieces of data it isn't resusing the colors, but they are somewhat similar. I usually do a group of the top 10 or so, then have an others category for situations like this.Â
