  • Customisation for PO Release (different Values for different Doc Types)

    Dear Experts,
I need to configure for PO release procedure where in the Characteristics would be Plant (2 Plants), Doc Type (3 types - Standard PO, Imports PO & Capital PO) and Value (2 stage release: 0-100000 & >100000 INR for Std PO, 0-200000 & >200000 INR for Imports PO and 0-300000 & >300000 INR for Capital PO).
Please let me know where I shoud define the different Values for different Docs for the Release procedure to work properly.
Or let me know the entire procedure for achieving the same.
    Regards,
    MNP

    Hi MNP,
You have to create different CLASSes in IMG with the possible combination of different characteristics,
EX. CLASS EKKO11 - Plant A, Doc type- Std PO, Value- 0-100000 & >100000 INR
CLASS EKKO22-  Plant A, Doc type- Import PO, Value-  0-200000 & >200000 INR
CLASS EKKO33-  Plant A, Doc type- Capital PO, Value-  0-300000 & >300000 INR  and same for other plant
then assign these classes to the respective Release group.

  • Absolute condition value in contract and release order

    Hi,
We are creating quantity contract. When a absolute condition (value) is entered this value is considered for release qty in the contract for calculating the unit price. But when a release order is created for this contract, the same absolute value is for the PO quantity due to which there is a difference in unit price between contract and PO.
    Please advice.

  • Why can we only use 1 release class for overall Release of Purchase Req?

    Hi,
After realizing that it would be beneficial to use more than one release class for overall release of Purchase Requisition with classification, in use with release groups for overall release, I now ask if someone knows why SAP has chosen to only allow 1 release class for overall release of Purchase Requisition?
In my scenario I would like Release group US, used for release strategies for US-plant to be able to use 1 release class with a specific set of characteristics.
For example class REL_PREQ_CLASS_OVERALL_VALUE_IN_USD including a characteristic PR_TOTVAL_USD looking at CEBAN-GFWRT. The chosen currency for this characteristic would be USD.
I would then like to allow Release group FR, used for release strategies for FRANCE-plant to use another release class with another set of characteristics.
For example class REL_PREQ_CLASS_OVERALL_VALUE_IN_EUR including a characteristic PR_TOTVAL_EUR looking at CEBAN-GFWRT. The chosen currency for this characteristic would be EUR.
In this way the release strategies for the respective release groups US and FR, could maintain their overall limit values in their respective release strategies in their own currencies.
    1. Observe that I do not want to use the same Release class for both release groups for overall release, even though I know that this is currently the only allowed option, as far as I've understood.
    2. Observe that I do not want to specify the two characteristics PR_TOTVAL_USD and PR_TOTVAL_EUR for overall value in the same release class, as this would lead to double maintenance for a large number of release strategies. Also consider the maintenance when new countries with new currencies want release strategies.
    3. Observe that I only want to use overall release.
What I'm trying to avoid is having to continuously translate local business USD overall value limits to limits in the currency chosen for the overall value characteristic. If this for example is specified in DKK, this would lead to a need to adjust the overall value limits as soon as the exchange rate between USD and DKK changes in the system.
    Please consider this simple example:
Local requirement is that USD purchase requisitions should be blocked when the USD value is above 1000 USD. However in my release strategy I would have to maintain a value of >5365 DDK, if DKK is chosen as the currency for overall characteristic.(e.g exchange rate 5,365).
Next month the currency exchange rate in the system between USD and DKK has changed, and therefore I would have to go into CL24N and maintain the value to reflect the new exchange rate between USD and DKK. Lets say it has gone up to 5,435. I would now have to maintain a value of > 5435 DKK in my release strategy to correctly reflect the local business requirement of 1000 USD.
So if anyone could please explain why SAP has taken the decision to make the Release class for overall release client specific that would be much appreciated and awarded accordingly. Also if you have any suggestion on how I could obtain the above scenario on maintaning overall value limits in different currencies than that would be awarded to.

the text of the error message is pretty self explanatory .. it couldn't find the control file.
The control files are specified by the "control_files"  initialilzation paramter.  When you get this error, the instance has started but was unable to mount the control file.  since the init file (spfile) was processed and the instance started you can easily see what it thinks are the control files.

  • New release strategy should not trgger for PO released with old Rel Strategy

    Hi All,
Please suggest. Po has been fully released with Release Strtgy V1 XX. Now I m replacing release strategy  XX with ZZ. If I change any po which has old rel str XX , system will reset new release strategy as in config changeability indicator 4 maintained.
But requirement is if there is  any change or value decreasing in fully released Pos with old strategy  it should not retrigger new release strategy. If value Increases then New strategy should retrigger.
    Please help me on this.
    regards,
    Rohit

    HI Rohit
A reset of the release strategy only takes place if
           -  the changeability of the release indicator is set to '4' in
case of a purchase requisition and '4' or '6' in case of
another purchasing document (purchase order, request for
              quotation, contract, scheduling agreement),
           -  the document is still subject to the previous release
              strategy,
           -  the new TOTAL NET ORDER VALUE is higher than the old one.
The most important thing to consider in to avoid changes to release strategy customizing once the release strategy is used.
    The commom steps are:
1- make sure all of the old POs should have been released.
2- don't delete/change the original release strategy. create a new release strategy with copy function, then the old release strategy will not be replaced.
3- if you delete the original release strategy and add a new release strategy which the characteristics in classification is same as old release strategy then the PO (have been approved) will be replaced with the new release strategy.
    Kind regards,

  • Value Contract for a material group

It is possible to create a contract on value basis for a particular material group without material masters.
    Thanks
    Sanjeev

    Hi,
You can create contract value basis for a particular material group without material masters like for example creating contract for service where you can use item category D but you should use always account assignment category U ( contract without stock material ) & later in creating contract release order or call-off WRT contract, you can change account assignment category U to account assignment category K or as required.

  • Value Contracts for Credit note

    Dear Friends,
Can we create Value contracts for Credit note processing?
Please refer to the below scenario:
I have certain budget that needs to be distributed to some of the customers depending upon the claims (Credit Notes).
This budget is included in Value contract and values are released through orders (Credit note order). I specify total budget in Target Value of Value contract and as and when the credit note is created, the value of credit note is updated in Released Value.
But when I create credit note, order value is being captured in Negative in released value of Contract document.
If total target value is utilized, I need to restrict the user to create more credit note orders with reference to Value contract.
Can anyone please help with the scenario.
    Regards,
    Praveen.

    Dear Sri,
These are the steps to to configure the output type for credit note.
SPRO>IMG>Sales and Distribution>Basic Functions>Output Control>Output Determination>Output Determination Using the Condition Technique-->Maintain Output Determination for Billing Documents
    -->Maintain Condition Tables
    -->Maintain Output Types
    -->Maintain Access Sequences
-->Assign Output Types To Partner Functions
    -->Maintain Output Determination Procedure
    -->Assign Output Determination Procedures
Here you just copy the standard output type RD00 then rename it according to you, then assign the Z form for that output type.
Maintain condition record through VV31 transaction with your credit note document type.
I hope this will help you,

  • Reg. Characteristics and Class for PO release stretagy

    Dear Experts
We want to release PO, what should be the Characteristic and Class, how to create the both. Pls advise the required table and class name.
    Thanks
    Rajakumar

    hi,
Characteristics are the criteria for a release condition. If the criteria of a release condition are satisfied, the associated release strategy is assigned to the purchasing document like PURCHASE ORDER.
you can find it under menu path:
SPRO > MATERIAL MANAGEMENT > PURCHASING > PURCHASE ORDER > RELEASE PROCEDURE FOR PURCHASE ORDER > EDIT CHARACTERISTIC.
you can create charateristic based on plant, document type, value, purchase group.
In the basic data screen we have to enter the following inputs.
    1DESCRIPTION                     PLANT
    2STATUS                                     RELEASED
    3DATA TYPE                     CHARACTER FORMAT
    4NUMBER OF CHARACTER     4
    5VALUE ASSIGNMENT     MULTIPLE VALUES
In the description screen we have to enter the language and description
In the restrictions screen we have to enter the class type.
Class type is the top-level unit of control for classes
The class type is used to define a number of parameters, such as:
u2022     The objects that can be classified in a class.
u2022     Whether objects of different object types can be classified in the same class.
u2022     Whether an object can be classified in more than one class of the same class type.
u2022     The class maintenance screens that can be processed.
Each class must be assigned to exactly one class type. There is no connection between the individual class types.
In the restriction screen we have to enter class type u201C032u201D.
We use a class to group together characteristics that are to constitute a release condition for a release strategy. In this step we assign this class to the release strategy.
menu path is : SPRO > MATERIAL MANAGEMENT > PURCHASE ORDER > RELEASE PROCEDURE FOR PURCHASE ORDER > EDIT CLASS
there should be only one class for all the release procedure.
for po the table is cekko and for pr it is ceban

  • MM06E008 - Monitoring of contr. target value in case of release orders

    Hi,
I'm working on the enhancement MM06E008 (meant for monitoring the Contr. target value in case of release orders).  Based on the requirement, we need to issue either an information or a warning message thru the exit. The message is getting triggered only when i issue an error message. Rather i want to send an information or a warning message. The requirement is such that we could not use the 06 Message class 042 Number in the config and thus we had to make use of this exit.
Can anyone let me know if it is possible to issue a non-error message (Say a warning or an info) thru the exit.
Points will be rewarded for helpful answers.

  • User exit for triggering release strategy

    Hello Experts,
My requirement is when changes are made in purchase order (ME22N) then once again release strategy will have to get trigger.
is the user exits exists for this purpose,if yes, What is it?. I searched alot but not able to find right exits.

    Hello ,
I think you can achieve this via configuration .Basically you want the release strategy to get redetermined based on the changes in the item or if the price of these items increase a certain level .if you  have the release startegy as changeble in the SPRO ticked it will automatically go for new release strategy if you have the value of release indicator set .This can be done SPRO->MM->Purchase order->Release procedure for purchase order->Define release procedure->Release indicator.
    Set  the appropriate value  .
Remember you need to know what is that it retrigger that release strategy .
The link below deals with similar requirement ....

  • Release Group for PR Release Strategy

    Hi ,
When i am trying to define new "Release Group" AA , with Class "Z_PR" (it has Plant and Item Value as charcteristics ) , I am receiving message "Please Check Release Classes" , Message no. ME492.It doesn't allow me to save this new release group.
Please also note that other two release Groups are already available.
Do u know what I am missing  and how can I save my Release group ?
ALSO as per the LONG text of this prompted message
    "Diagnosis
Here you can assign release groups to release classes. Only one release class should be used within the release groups for overall release and the release groups without overall release in each case. However, in this instance several release classes have been used."
    What does it mean ?
    Sandeep

    Hi,
The message has explained the problem.
You cannot have two classes for the same document release and you are tryng to break this rule by adding another entry (the fact that you have give it a different release group does not make any difference this is still another class for the same document.)
You should be able to do what you want without the need for a new release group or additional class, after all everyone else that uses SAP is using one class per document.
Why diod you think that you needed another release group / class?
