Values for Material Master

Hi
In GO-LIVE phase, the price for Semi-finished and finished has to updated on the basis of input by Client or same shud be updated by releasing cost estimates.
What would be standard practise
Thx in advance

Dear SR,
When you do the costing run for your FERT materials - Finished Products ,then
automatically using the BOM items, routings,Costing sheet, the cost for
manufacturing the HALB - Semifinished also gets updated.
for example HALB items may be having a valid BOM,routing,so according to the
BOM items & quantity, routing(for the operations) the cost is calculated and this
gets stamped.
this HALB - semifinished items will be used as a BOM item for FERT materials.
Now the FERT materials cost gets calculated.
So we need only the activity cost defined for the cost centers, costing sheet(if
any),and the raw materials cost(this can be given as planned price & valid date).

Mangal

    Hi
In CL6C, give the class where u might have assigned the characteristics.
tick the display options as required and execute.
    or
Use the tcode CT10, give the characteristic name and execute.

  • Updation of Consumption values in material master

    Dear Experts,
    For a FERT ,
When I use strategy 40 , Consumption values ( PGI - Deliveries )are getting updated in MM02 in Forecast view.
    whereas,
When I use strategy 50 , Consumption values are not getting updated in MM02 in Forecast view.
Is there any setting to control this updation of Consumption values in Material Master ?
    Regards,
    Sheik

    Hi,
Update of consumption is based on movement type, and you can decide which movement types should have or have not consumption updating.
Check in transaction OMJJ if the movement types in question have indicator "Consumption posting" (field V_156_VC-KZVBU) as marked.
If it is the case, consumption is updated, opposite for un-ticked.
    Hope that helps.
    Thanks.

  • Issue in LSMW for material master using standard input program RMDATIND!!

    Hello guys,
I have a issue in LSMW for material master.
I have a custom field in MARA table. which I want to add in my LSMW.
I added the field in BMMH1 structure. I'm passing the value to this field, But it is not populated in the table when I run it.
Is there anything else I need to do apart from addition of field in the structure BMMH1.
Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Change the characteristic Values in Material master dat

    Hi Experts,
How do change the characterstic values in material master ? Is there any standard BAPI or t.ocde or LSMW

  • Using TREX for Material master for longtext (basic data) and classification

    Hi together,
I am only having some basic know how about TREX.
We want to use TREX for quick search in Material master long texts (like basic data and so on) and also for searching in characteristic values of material master (tab: classification).
The TREX is successfull installed and It was possible for me to create an index for Material BUS1006001 in SES_ADMIN and search the material in this transaction by TREX. I also find the index in TREX_ADMIN "green".
But there I could only use the attributes of the standard business objects (for example describtion of material master = short text).
Now I want to use the long texts and the classification. What do I have to do in SES_ADMIN or somewhere else? Actually I only want to use the functionality in SAP GUI. If I know how to make the indixes I could program an own F4-Help for this in ABAP.
    Can anybody help me?
    Thanks a lot.
    Florian

    Hi Florian,
SES_ADMIN is the admin cockpit of the Search Engine Service (SES).
SES-based solutions usually include searching the long text. Just test!
SES-based solutions usually do not include searching via classification.
The successor framework of SES is "Embedded Search".
Embedded Search is available with NW 7.01, corresponding to ERP 6.04. For details see SAP note 1254901
Classification is supported by Embedded Search with NW 7.02, corresponding to ERP 6.05.
ERP 6.05 is in unrestricted availability since summer 2011.
If the customer can not upgrade to ERP 6.05, there is a preliminary SES-based solution for searching via classification.
The solution can only be provided via SAP PLM consulting.

  • Creating MDM repository for Material Master Data

    Hello MDM Gurus,
I am new to SAP MDM. I want to create MDM repository for Material Master. What I unddertand is, I can create repository using Bussiness Content shiped with MDM software. I will copy *.a2a file to archive folder of MDM server and unarchive repository. I have following question for you.
    1. HOw do I use export maps and import maps which I found in Busines contenst\Material folder?
    2. How do I use MDM Lookup Tables which is xml document in Busines contenst\Material folder?
    3. Why is the use of MDMGX_55520_Material.txt file which I found in Busines contenst\Material folder?
    4. What is the use of *.xsd files and how can I use them?
    Thanks,
    Bhupesh

    Hi Bhupesh
    1. HOw do I use export maps and import maps which I found in Busines contenst\Material folder?
save all the map files on your loacl machine. open import manager and select file-> Import, browse to the .map file and save the map with a meaningful name. now next time connect to the source file you want to import and OPEN the map saved.
    2. How do I use MDM Lookup Tables which is xml document in Busines contenst\Material folder?
Businees content contains the standard  ECC refernce tables like countries, regions etc which can be refreshed from ECC. for this you have to configure MDMGX, defining all the ports in MDM and in ECC the tables from which data has to be refreshed. refer to below threads for details.
    Extract Data usnig MDMGX
How to Export Materials from ERP to MDM 7.1 via MDMGX?
    3. Why is the use of MDMGX_55520_Material.txt file which I found in Busines contenst\Material folder?
This helps us in configuring the table extraction from ECC, refer to thread-> Extract Data usnig MDMGX
    4. What is the use of *.xsd files and how can I use them?
Schema files are used for syndicating the records from MDM to source system. Say we want to syndicate material master from MDM to ECC and in ECC they will be posted via MATMAS05 IDoc. these schemas are the structure of IDoc which will contain the values which will be syndicated from MDM.
Let me know if you know some more details.
    regards
    Ravi

  • LSMW for material master upload

    Hi gurus
i have one problem while uploading material master with LSMW.
I have murged 2 company codes in one so while creating material master system is asking me tax classification data in sales view for 2 country sales org and distrubition channel. I am using sap std LSMW for material master creation.
system is giving me error as " tax classification data not maintained completely".
need your valuable help to solve this problem

Tax classification data is mandatory field in Sales view of MM01.
Check out you mapping for the tax classification fields. usually classification value is 0 OR 1.
You can first test the values in MM01 Sales View with the legacy data you have and this way you will able to find the mandatory fields also and can see the valid values for the fields.
Remember you may have more than one Tax Classification values depending on the country code.
For that you can add those many columns in legacy data file and map them.
    Hope it helps.

  • Defalt values in material master?

    Hi All,
Is it possible to make default values in material master.
Like material group should be 001 for material type ROH etc
    Regards,
    RR

    Hi Raj,
You can default the org elements and views in the material master.
But you can not make fields inside the views as default.
But coming to your problem, what you can do is:
Try to copy it from existing material, so by default all values inside the views will come.
    Hope it helps...

  • Step by step instruction for Using LSMW Recoding method for Material Master

    Guys,
Can some one explain step by step procedure for uploading the materials master data to R/3 by using LSMW Recoding method. By the time you reply I will go through the rule of uploading the data..
    Thanks guys,
    Dhanu.

    Hi,
The Legacy System Migration Workbench (LSMW) is a tool recommended by SAP that you can use to transfer data once only or periodically from legacy systems into an R/3 System.
The LSM Workbench covers the following steps:
(1)Read the legacy data from one or several files (e.g. spreadsheet tables, sequential files)
(2)Convert the data from source format to target format
(3)Import the data using standard interfaces (Batch Input, Direct Input, BAPI, IDoc).
    The Steps for LSME are:
    Example: Customer Master upload:
LSMW to Update Customer Master Records with Transaction Recording
Call Legacy System Migration Workbench by entering transaction code LSMW. Every conversion task is grouped together as Project / Subproject / Object structure. Create a Project called LSMW_DEMO and a Subproject as CUSTOMERS and Object as CUST_REC
    Step 1: Maintain Object attributes
In this example, you will be updating the customer master records with the help of recording a transaction (XD02). Choose radio button Batch Input Recording and click on the recording overview icon to record the R/3 transaction. Enter the Recording name as XD02_REC, the description as Customer Master Updates Recording, and the transaction code as XD02.
    Step 2. Maintain Source Structures
Give a name and a description to the source structure
    Step 3. Maintain Source Fields
In this step, you need to list what fields are present in the source structure. The easiest way is to click on u2018Table Maintenanceu2019 icon to enter Fieldname, Type and Length for each field
    Step 4: Maintain Structure Relations
Execute a step to u2018Maintain Structure Relationsu2019. Since, there is only one Source and Target Structure, the relationship is defaulted automatically.
Step 5: Maintain field mapping and conversion rules
Field RF02D-D0310 represents that you chose u2018Sales viewu2019 for the customer Master screen accordingly its value should be set to X. Keep your cursor on field RF02D-D0310 and click on Constant rule icon to choose the constant value of u2018Xu2019.
If your source file already has the field value, you choose rule u2018Source Fieldu2019.
Keep cursor on field u2018KUNNRu2019 and click on u2018Assign Source fieldu2019 icon to choose source field CUSTOMER from structure XD02S
Step 6: Maintain fixed values, translations, user-defined routines
You can also maintain re-usable translations and user-defined routines, which can be used across conversion tasks. In this case, that step is not required.
    Step 7: Specify files
In this step, we define how the layout of the input file is. The input file is a [Tab] delimited with the first row as field names. It is present on my PC (local drive) as C:\XD02.txt.
    Step 8: Assign files
Execute step u2018Assign Filesu2019 and the system automatically defaults the filename to the source structure.
    Step 9: Read data
In this step, LSMW reads the data from the source file (from your PCu2019s local drive). You have the option to read only selected rows and convert data values to Internal format.
    Step 10: Display read data
This step is optional. If required, you can review the field contents for the rows of data read.
    Step 11: Convert data
This is the step that actually converts the source data (in source format) to a target format. Based on the conversion rules defined, source fields are mapped to target fields.
    Step 12: Display Converted data
Again this is an optional step to view how the source data is converted to internal SAP format
Step 13: Create batch input session
Once the source data is converted in an internal format, you can create a batch session to process updates.
Step 14: Run Batch Input Session
You can execute the BDC session by Run Batch input session. Executing a batch input session is a standard SM35 transaction for managing BDC sessions. Once you have successfully executed the batch input session, the customer master records are updated in the system. You can confirm this by viewing the customer master records (XD03).

  • Creation of New T Code for Material Master

    HI,
I have to create a new T Code for Material Master Change i.e. for MM02, with writing restrictions to few fields. How to achieve this?
    Thanks and Regards,

    Hi Hariprasad,
If restricting certain fields using field selection option is not suitable for you, you can go ahead with the option Screen Variend

  • BAPI for Material master update

    Hello,
I need to upload and change data to the classification screen of Material master (MM01/02). I am thinking of using BAPI_CHARACT_CREATE and BAPI_CHARACT_CHANGE. Can we use BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA to upload and change characteristic data for material master(MM01/02)?
Can anybody provide me some sample code for mass upload and mass change of characteristic data to material master?
    Thanks in advance
    Rajesh.

    Hi Rajesh,
You can use standard SAP program <b>RCCLBI03</b> to do mass upload.
Please check the program documentation for more information.
Also you can take a look this BAPI/FM.
    <b>BAPI_OBJCL_CREATE
    BAPI_OBJCL_CHANGE
    CLVF_INSERT_AUSP
    CLVF_UPDATE_AUSP
    CLVF_VB_INSERT_CLASSIFICATION</b>
    Hope this will help.
